I've been coming to Erikson's since I was about 2 years old, and it's still one of my favorite ice cream places anywhere. They have a huge menu of flavors, incredible sundaes, and great service. Most of the employees are high school kids and they do a fantastic job. Also, Erikson's just has that great feel of an old time New England ice cream stand. They've been around for almost 100 years, and for good reason. Try the fresh raspberry sundae with vanilla ice cream or the green monsta (mint ice cream, Oreos, chocolate chips, and cookie dough). You'll be glad you came!

Just how I remember it. Old school drive-in ice cream as it should be. I missed a couple of summers due to Covid, but otherwise this is an annual summer treat. They always have tons of flavors and special seasonal flavors. They also have sorbets, sherbets and vegan ice creams. If you like coffee flavor, both the coffee chip and coffee oreo are not to be missed. Extra hot fudge on the sundae please!

This is one of the best ice cream shops in Massachusetts. The ice cream is rich and then have TONS of flavors, including some you can't find at other places. The servings are big, so make sure you know what size you're ordering or it will be hard to finish. You can't go wrong with Green Monster (mint ice cream with Oreos, cookie dough and chocolate chips) .

Yum!! I was recommended to try Ericksons by a local and wow their ice cream was delicious! They have a big lot for parking and offer some tables on the left side in case you wanna sit down and enjoy your ice cream. Line forms behind each window and napkins and hand sanitizer was available at the counter. We got the frappe cookies and cream and a small almond joy. Def might want to get the kids size next time since I couldn't finish the small.. But it was all super yummy. Can't wait to stop by again and try other flavors!

Fantastic ice cream, tons of flavors, plenty of seating, friendly vibe. Kids cone is 2 scoops.

We pass Erikson's on our way home from Boxborough every week. It's been there forever. Probably 50 years! It's a seasonal ice cream stand - closes for winter and only has counter service. Some picnic tables out back. And a cool cow patterned fence. They actually ha w wet wipes in addition to napkins. Big variety of flavors. Lots of rotating flavors. Pricing is kinda high. But you do get a lot of ice cream. And seriously - is there such a thing as a cheap ice cream stand!

Best ice cream I've ever tasted! Incredible, unique flavors. Rich and creamy. Great family history all the way back to the 1930s.

The storefront is fairly shallow with just the counter to order at and short table by the window next to the pint freezer. You can pick two flavors with a small size and with a wide selection of flavors, you can't really go wrong. I tried the Boston Blackout (a tar black mix of cocoa ganache and layer cake) and Pistachio Baklava (pistachio ice cream with toffee and phyllo dough) which were both 10/10. My last day of the trip I got the "Xtra Xtra" Coffee (the only flavor I found lacking, I was hoping for something more potent) and the Ritzy AF (butter cracker ice cream with cracker toffee which more than made up for the shortcomings of the coffee one). I do look forward to coming back here to try more flavors on future work trips!

Fast forward, from my house it's 35 to 40 minutes back (depending on traffic) on a Friday. I needed my husband to taste this joy!! And then... no cone or waffle bowl batter when we got to register. None. Zero. My excitement dropped faster than a melting scoop in July. I had the Raspberry gooey butter cake in a cup , which was delicious, but that waffle bowl was the reason for the road trip. I will absolutely be back because I know how amazing it can be, but please, I am begging stash an extra batch in the fridge for the long distance dessert lovers. That waffle bowl is not just dessert. It is an experience.

The strawberry ice cream was rich, creamy, and full of real flavor with chunks of cookies throughout that gave the perfect texture and sweetness balance. You would never guess it was vegan. Now let's talk about that waffle cone -- fresh-made, warm, crisp around the edges, and smelling like pure happiness the moment it hit the table. That cone alone deserves its own review! The atmosphere was fun, colorful, and inviting, making the entire experience feel like a sweet little escape. Vegan desserts can sometimes miss the mark, but this place absolutely nailed it. A perfect treat for dairy-free customers and ice cream lovers alike. 10/10!

The…read moreflavors are creative, the texture is rich and creamy, and everything has that upscale, boutique feel. You can tell they are going for a higher end ice cream experience, with organic ingredients, homemade style flavors, and fancy names that make it feel a little more elevated than your average scoop shop. That said, this is definitely a place where you need to bring your wallet. The ice cream is very good, but paying around $12 for one scoop is hard not to notice. At that price point, it starts to feel like you are paying for the brand, the Seaport location, and the trendy presentation just as much as the ice cream itself. The product is strong, and I would not say it is disappointing by any means. It is actually really enjoyable. But it is also the kind of place where you walk out thinking, "That was great, but wow, that was expensive." For a casual ice cream stop, the pricing feels a bit over the top. Overall, Van Leeuwen is worth trying if you are in the area and want a quality dessert. The ice cream is excellent, the flavors are fun, and it feels like a nice treat. Just do not go in expecting a bargain. Great ice cream, but absolutely bring your wallet.
