Do yourself a favor and order the mini size ice cream. Even that portion you can share with someone. Who knew there is a cute cafe/shop next door and if you're picky like me, there is a bathroom inside. I refuse the portable potty! The breakfast options are tasty! Plenty of tables on the second floor. If you want bbq food, you can order outside. They are only ok and overpriced.

Kimball Farm, my beloved--I genuinely miss you every time winter rolls around! This location in northern Lancaster is a short detour off Route 2. Heading down Lunenburg Rd, you'll easily spot a wide entrance right across from Dunkin' Donuts. Parking is straightforward, with extra lots opened during busy days. Dining is set beneath a large tent that protects from rain and intense sun, but if you prefer sunshine, there are tables that sit just outside the tent. There's also seating on the grassy area, pleasantly shaded by trees. You place order at the window and pay up-front, and then you wait around for your number to be called. So make sure you're still paying attention if you're listening to music or having a conversation. Condiments, utensils, and napkins are all self-serve, along with the beverage dispensers. Kimball Farm introduced me to fried seafood plates, and it remains my favorite spot. I'm utterly addicted to their fried scallops--perfectly golden and flavorful--and the crispy, juicy whole belly clams. Seafood is available either as a fried plate (served with fries and coleslaw) or as "sides" in half-pint or pint portions. Prices here aren't cheap--I usually spend around $40-$50--but the quality, freshness, and generous portions make it entirely worth it. If you're not too stuffed after finishing your meal, Kimball Farm also serves fantastic ice cream. I highly recommend the Coffee Oreo, but honestly, there's no wrong choice here. Just keep in mind their portions start from "mini" and quickly get larger--don't be surprised if even a "small" is more ice cream than your stomach can handle!

    $63.00 with tip

Well for 63.00 for a clam plate and two drinks. This includes a tip that I am not sure what for. I was hoping for it to be better. The clams tasted like a typical frozen clam with no flavor. The tartar sauce was nothing like real tartar sauce. I have been to kimballs before and the quality has gone down hill. Oh well lesson learned.

I heard about this place & love seafood, so my sister drove us the 1.5 hours here for my birthday. Nothing about the location not service was appealing. Seemed as if the high schoolers were more concerned with flirting and TikTok than assisting us. We placed our order & sat outside under the tent while birds hop all over the tables that were never once wiped down. After a while (other people came and ordered before us and got their food first) we got our food. It smelled burnt but it was a large portion is we figured the whole thing wouldn't be that way. We asked for no cole slaw and there it was soaking through the plate & the fries and fish are all how soggy and white. The shrimp & clam strips were okay, none of the food us seasoned but that might be your thing, not mine The tartar sauce taste homemade an just like straight relish and is very yellow in color The haddock was not worth the price, actually none of the food was. The ice cream is worth it if you are only getting one flavor. There was a nice girl (her name ended In "ae") who took her time to try and help me pick a flavor. The mini is still a lot of ice cream so be sure you want all of that. Lastly and most importantly, I feel like our food came out difference because essentially WE looked different than everyone there. Sad times in 2022, especially having to drive back hungry all that way and spend money on Better food. You can tell the difference on our plates

Dropping my daughter off to camp and had to find a place nearby to spend time. I thought this was the location with the water bumper cars but it wasn't but they had food so why not. Seafood! Why not! I ordered the two item seafood combo (shrimp and haddock). The portion size was more than enough and I couldn't finish BUT the flavor was lackluster. It tasted like flour and no seasoning. Pretty sure The haddock was pre frozen or somehow not fresh. Def not worth the $40!! Plus onion rings and kids tenders no drinks was $70+!! The onion rings were fresh at least which was good! Then we had dessert which was ice cream. Again portion sizes were crazy and ice cream had bunch of flavors to choose from. But again. Price. Two one scoops with cone plus one kiddie was $25!!! It was a nice stop to eat outside, play corn hole and connect four but not if you are on a budget!!

The scallops were absolutely fantastic and got a lot with the 2 seafood combo. Huge and not greasy. One regular size is enough for two people. Price, however, is through the roof after pandemic. Got a tiny serving of coffee turtle ice cream and it was also pricey: $5. Sitting in my car I was thinking this would be awesome except cost as much as the fanciest meal before the pandemic. I guess this is the "new normal". There was not much farm anywhere (a few empty field the k9 state police were practicing in. For tourism to recover, the prices have to. Nothing unique in the store except items that say Kimball Farm. Could have been anywhere.

There are fewer "attractions" (no mini golf or bumper boats) here than at the theme park that is the Westford location, but the parking and line times are much easier, and the ice cream is the same. Fried clams, scallops, and shrimp were all cooked crisp, with scallops and shrimp tender/juicy; clams were a little overcooked. Surprisingly impressive hot dog: a large, snappy, adult-flavored beast similar to if not actually a Pearl, with a grilled New England style roll. Onion rings excellent, with good crunch, pleasant batter, and nice distribution of ring sizes. Comfortable picnic table seating close to the stands under a tent or further away on the grass without tent. Your reward for traveling out to the boonies: cheap gas across the street (though there's cheaper closer to Leominster). Probably closer to 3.5 than 4, but the good vibes here bump it up.

I am not a local. I come to MA every year to visit family and Kimball Farms is one of my favorite places! Must orders are lobster rolls, clam strips, and ice cream. Lobsters rolls are filled, large portion of clam strips, and many choices for ice cream. Pet friendly since seating is outdoor.

Ended up here on Columbus Day Weekend. Which happens to be their last weekend of the season. They only had 2 flavors of ice cream a vanilla and chocolate. They had Rum Raisin and Frozen Pudding on the menu. But we all know that those are not ice cream flavors that anyone actually eats. Our servings were huge. Much larger than the photograph samples. Maybe they were trying to clear out the freezer? Lots of parking. Quite a few picnic tables and benches. Ample lighting at night.

Excellent ice cream, though a more varied selection of flavors would be nice after all these years. Their Black Raspberry is AMAZING. Ice cream lines can be LONG here, though, just like at the other locations. Just be patient, or, if you can, drop by during a weekday. Oh, and the fried clam strips are AMAZING... REAL clams, not soggy and you get a LOT, which is good as their prices are not exactly cheap, though not bad being so far from the ocean. Better parking than in Westford. This location also has the weekly car show. PS: Dear Kimball's - PLEASE get rid of those awful paper straws from the 2019 season!!

Can I get melted butter w the lobster?

Didn't have lobster, had a scallop dinner for which 3 people each were charged an extra $12,95 service charge & it was in the bill. Didn't expect this, considering all they do is take out, they don't wait on you. Love their food, but because of… Read more
