We tried out Madulkas ice cream recently. The actual stand is around back facing Lake Quinsigamond. They serve the regular flavors of ice cream you can find at most stands around here. It was good, but nothing about the flavors or size was out of the ordinary. They're greatest advantage is they have a nice view while you enjoy your ice cream. read more

They have really good ice cream here! It's dog friendly, and they have a dog dish, which is whipped cream with treats! You can place your order from either side of the building. There are plenty of seats and tables on the dock and ground! read more

They have a typical selection. I had a raspberry/lemon sorbet slushie. It was really good. The small soft serve is actually big so choose size wisely. It's by a river and has seating by the docks. The employee in there was doing a tremendous job considering she was the only person there. read more

My family and I decided to take a trip to Madulka's because all we've heard are good things! We typically would go to Uhlman's or Gibby's but we wanted to change things up. We went on a Saturday night and it was very busy so the line was very long which was fine because of the lively environment between the view of the lake and the music playing next door. The service was excellent! We told the polite young man that we had never been here before so he gave us some recommendations and let us sample a few things. I got the chocolate peanut butter on one of their homemade waffle cones and it was soooo good! A lot of places around don't have homemade waffle cones so this is definitely an added bonus even if they're a little extra. The prices were pretty comparable with the other local places, maybe a little bit more pricey but you're paying for quality. Overall, everyone was pleased (even my picky 8 year old) and I think we found our new saturday night spot for the summer read more

Large selection of flavors and nice location on Lake Ave. There is a beautiful seating area in the back downstairs with picnic tables and chairs. Its nice to watch the boats go by while you eat your ice cream. Ice cream is good quality, better than your standard Friendly's, but not as good as Gibby's. The only negative is it is right next to the Marine Core League (bar/event hall) which is really loud and sometimes rowdy. read more

This place certainly does not disappoint. My friends took me here on my birthday and I ordered the coffee w/ oreos combo (don't know what it's called off the top of my head) and it was such a generous amount of ice cream. I got the small but I could barely finish it. It was a little too sweet but still delicious. So when I went again with my friend, I got the coffee ice cream on a waffle cone. It was amazing! I love coffee ice cream and they of course gave me a huge serving size again. Also, pumpkin flavor is so good too. Tastes just like pumpkin pie! Not to mention the beautiful view of harbor with people on their boats and ducks waddling around. I highly recommend coming here if you just need to relax after a long day. read more

The atmosphere is super refreshing, right by the water with cute outdoor seating. It literally feels like you're at the beach. This place is unfortunately cash only but has an atm at the backside where you can withdrawal money. They offer a variety of fresh churned ice cream and offer doggy friendly ice cream as well. I ended going for the cake batter, It was super creamy and thick, it was essentially vanilla I cream with with mix of chocolate drizzle in it. The prices are a bit pricey but I guess most home made ice cream places are, about 4-5 dollars a scoop. They also didn't have all of the items noted on the menu at the time, we originally went for root beer floats but none were available at the time. read more

We ordered 3 ice creams and they were pretty quick about making the orders. The girls weren't rude at all but weren't as friendly as some of the smaller local shops can be. Last year, I was raving to other parents about Madulka's because they were the one local spot that offered a kid size ice cream that was a great price and size. This season, the owner got greedy and stopped selling kid size. I don't mind the price of the small (it is average priced) but forcing 3 year old kids to purchase an ice cream that would satisfy the obese crowd pictured in these yelp reviews is over the top. I don't like wasting food and throwing away 2/3 of an ice cream just because the owner wants to squeeze an extra dollar from his customers. The kid size was the only advantage to this place. Other than that, you have an average ice cream stand where the only thing that stands out is the 40mph traffic whizzing by two feet from the order window. Between the traffic, the balcony, stairs, polluted lake and mosquitoes, Madulka's is not a great place to take young kids. Decent ice cream and super close. Location being so close is the most prominent draw of this place, except there isn't much for space to sit when it's busy and it's on a rather busy road. They did have grape nut ice cream which bumps it up a star because most places around us don't. Pretty good, overall. They have an excellent selection of flavors and their soft serve is very good. The "large" cone is very large, I'd recommend getting a cup to hold it in. The prices are pretty reasonable too, although bottled water was a little expensive. The menu is really overwhelming, there is so much to choose from. The portions are big so ordering a large is really like a massive amount of ice cream a human can't consume in one sitting. My small sundae was refrozen in my freezer until the next couple of days, and it was still pretty good. The staff is about average. They aren't friendly, but aren't rude, and they do their job so I can't complain. Parking is kind of scarce and the parking lot across the street is usually open but it's downright dangerous crossing Lake Ave at certain times. We walked, and if you are at Lake Park it isn't a long walk from there. At the rear of the building their is a nice deck with some seating available that looks over the lake. There is also access to some seating down by the docks. It's really nice and peaceful if you go during the week afternoons. We went around 4 on Friday and it was pretty quiet. I can imagine this place gets busy on the weekends. Also, last year, the week before closing they were selling their ice cream for $1 a scoop.
