I love soft serve. I believe they make theirs with frozen yogurt because of the texture difference from usual soft serve I get from other places. Nevertheless, it's good. I heard they're famous for their gelato sundaes, but didn't want to try it yet because I wanted something simple. So if I have the time I'll try that. read more

CoCo's Tropical Ice - Vanilla chocolate twist - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

We tried out this place today, I had pineapple ice cream that was so good and refreshing with the hot weather we've been having. Service was great, can't wait to go back and perhaps try a Root Beer Float. read more

Worst ice cream I may have had in my entire life. And that was after being served by a long haired woman with OUT her hair held back and draped over her shoulder as she scooped. GROSSS- I was desperate- it was hot out!! I don't think I could ever ever find a reason to return. read more

I love cocos tropical ice... but the past few times I've been here this summer they haven't served hotdogs. As I drive 30 minutes each time to get here it's disappointing they have the machines shut down 2-3 hours before closing. When asking when hotdogs are done being served I was told it depends on the day and not given any real answer. So if you come here for hotdogs, don't get your hopes up. read more

Craving a soft serve cone. I've had one at Coco's a few years back. I ordered a vanilla cone. First of all it was $5.14! That's more than places who just do soft serve charge. It was an "off white " color and not as creamy as all the soft serve I've ever had. The boards of the menu are overwhelming with items and flavors. The most unfortunate part was that the cone was stale!! Maybe they don't sell a lot of cones but they should be checking for freshness. Here's my thought. Stuck to the true roots of Coco's, focus on the ices and maybe 3 kinds of soft serve, purchase a better base or use better milk/cream to make it. Hard ice cream offer less flavors. Clean up the board so I can see what I need to. I didn't see the prices. Lower the price! I expected around $4.25 never over $5! I won't be back Coco's, and that makes me sad as it was one of my "go to's". read more

Tastes like the tropics! I had the piña colada shaved ice topped with coconut soft serve and it reminded me of my childhood days spent in Puerto Rico. Absolutely flavorful and full of pineapple & coconut chunks. How have I never been here?! It's so good I'm actually planning on bringing my fiancé here tonight, lol. Service was awesome and the variety of flavors and combinations seem limitless...and I plan on trying them all! read more

CoCo's Tropical Ice - a hand holding a cup of ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

I used to love this place! This year was a big disappointment. Pina colada ice is NOTHING like it was. I'm wondering if they are actually using the previous recipes? How can they carry over the name CoCo's Tropical Ice and have it taste so monumentally different. It's unfortunate but I can't recommend spending top dollar for frozen tasteless ice. read more

CoCo's Tropical Ice - Pina colada (no actual pineapple or coconut pieces...) - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

Phenomenal, adorable place! Fun and cozy vibe and the best treats around! Fantastic service and attentive staff! They have indoor and outdoor seating which is awesome . My favorites include the soft serve twist , chocolate ice cream, and the blue ice treat. They have carts and will go to your location or party . My neighbor hired them for a bday and they were a big hit! I also saw them at a Chamber of Commerce event with their cart which was super popular! You can pre-order large quantities of your favorite item and pick it up at the store also! Love that place! read more

We went to Coco's often over the years and I couldn't wait for it to open every spring. We finally got a chance to get there and it was the greatest of disappointments. We always got the piña colada which we loved because of the flavor, how smooth it was and the pieces of pineapple and coconut throughout. They should change the name of the place as they dishonor the owners that retired. We got the piña colada like we always had but it was a bunch of flavorless ice. No pineapple, no coconut and just a lot of tasteless ice. The smoothness is also gone. A total waste of money. Although it's a bit of a distance, we will have to go to Richie's slush in Everett. read more

CoCo's Tropical Ice - Piña colada ice. Definitely ice, where's the piña colada? - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

Hidden gem/ best place ever in Worcester! The soft serve and slush combo is the best combo ever. I got the passion fruit and mango slush ice with vanilla soft serve in medium cup for about 5$. This has to be the best dessert place that I have ever tried and finished! There are plenty of other flavors if you don't like the one I chose. Parking: There is a parking lot outside If you are in the area please try this place you won't regret! read more

CoCo's Tropical Ice - Walked over to Cocos for Lime! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

All flavors are amazing and employees are charismatic and fun to talk to. All the girls that work there are very sweet and kind. The place is recently renovated and very appealing to the eye. My favorite is the lemon ice. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for a tasty dessert. read more

The strip mall store front doesn't quite do justice to the wonders that lay beyond the door. Walking into CoCo's you are greeted with palm thatched canopies and a variety of tropical treats. I have a real soft spot for Italian ices. But I have to confess, that it's really just not the same for me when they aren't served in those pleated paper cups which generally disintegrate by the time you get to the end. However, those are hard to find these days, even in the pushcarts around NYC. The owner was incredibly patient with the indecisiveness of my family as they took their time figuring out what flavors to order (or if they were going to order anything at all). My choice was easy, having heard such good things about the pina colada. My daughter was offered a sample of the cotton candy flavor straight away, but she asked for a taste of cherry just to compare. My mother and son both went for mint chocolate chip. The tab for three minis and small was about $11. Of those three flavors, the pina colada was the best by far. I'm opposed to mint chip being green (and am not a fan of chips in water ice). And while the flavor of the cotton candy was true to the state fair confection, it's flavor out of a bottle. I'm looking forward to getting back in for the lemon, and the mango, and will keep my fingers crossed that one day they'll have a plain chocolate (my favorite flavor of them all). But given how convenient a stop this is off Route 90 on the way to or from Boston or Providence, I foresee many trips here in the future. Glad to have found it, and I'm glad they are so accommodating to those paralyzed by so many choices. read more

CoCo's Tropical Ice - a dining area - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

Me and my husband love this place we came in to get the strawberry and cream but the women said there was no vanilla soft serve. As we wait for our frozen ice we saw them give a women who ordered before us and another women after us get the vanilla soft serve. Was just very rude did not have to lie. read more

Only open on Friday Saturday and Sunday's! They have more than thirty soft serve flavors as well as specialty ice flavors! I really like the variety of flavors, plus you can get all sorts of toppings for your yogurt and ice cream too. Price wise you're paying the same as cold stone if you are getting a large and add a waffle cone. The specially flavors cost one dollar extra. They also upcharge for waffle cones. read more

Maybe don't go here if you want a simple vanilla cone. I paid a little over $5 for a soft serve vanilla cone, I also asked for rainbow sprinkles and got a sad lopsided cone with a scattered amount of sprinkles. The soft serve isn't like normal soft serve and has a more fro yo texture. read more

Today I visited CoCo's Tropical Ice in Auburn with my family. The girl who worked there was excellent. She was helpful, and patient with my kids. She didn't hesitate in offering to get my son samples of a few of their icee drinks. I got a Strawberry Smoothie. My son got their blue raspberry icee, and my daughter and fiancé got the Cotton Candy Soft Serve. It's decorated super fun with a jungle theme ; has board games for the kids to play while they cool off; and the customer service I received far exceeded anywhere I have been for ice cream this summer I would recommend CoCo's to anyone. Two thumbs up for Customer Service; fairly priced, clean; and just an overall fun and different spot to get a refreshing drink or ice cream on a hot August Afternoon. read more

My friends and I stopped here on our way back to New Jersey from Boston because we were in the mood for some ice cream and I am so happy we did. This place was absolutely the cutest. This place was super cute! Teens working the cash register and scooping the icee for their summer jobs. The flavors are great and the serving sizes are worth the $! They have a lot of table space, snacks and drinks for purchase. I'm so glad I found this little gem! read more

This business has been mistakenly listed as closed. Just visited yesterday with my sisters and what a fantastic summer treat! I tried the Snickers cocolatis and was super impressed. The cup was coated with caramel to flavor the layers of chocolate soft serve with chocolate peanut butter ice. So worth a drive to treat yourself here! The sisters had the lemon and piña colada ices, both delish! read more

Ice is pretty good the cherry is fine but the Blue raspberry stinks. The chocolate peanut butter was really good though.

I'd give five stars for flavor BUT I wish it were open year round and prices are a little high-especially for some flavored soft serve. The ices are amazing and the combinations of ices with soft serve is great! read more

The woman who owns or manages the place is not a very nice person... I noticed the chip on her shoulder right away I tried to be extra nice to her cuz I felt sorry for her. I brought my kids there a few times and this past time I made a to-go order and when they started to make it, another employee took a phone order... the manager tried to tell her they had no more to go cups but she couldn't hear so they decided to give the to-go cups to the telephone order even though I ordered first. I nicely offered to purchase the display cup letting her know that I had a long ride and it was going to melt and be messy in my car, and the woman said no very rudely. I asked why because she could just replace it in the morning when she got new cups and she just said "because". There was no reason for her to be purposely unhelpful and it is always surprising when somebody behaves that way purposely making something more difficult than it needs to be... I guess misery loves company. It's a shame because they have good product It is very overpriced but it is tasty. They don't care about losing customers They have no problem being rude and unhelpful to the customers. Very disappointed in my experience especially because I tried so hard to be nice to her when I saw she was in a bad mood every time I went there. read more

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. It's a family owned business, as far as one reviewer claiming rudeness, I have never experienced anything but smiles and free samples. Better than anything I've ever had as far as icy desserts, but I'm a lover of slush puppies, snow cones, etc. The cup sizes are deceiving, they put WAY more into the cups and they overflow with a huge mound that sits on top and over the cup. Flavors are amazing and so different. My husband and I's personal favorite is the gelati, which is the Italian Ice with soft serve Ice cream. Don't know if they make their own ice cream but its so tasty. They do make their own ices. I love the Patriot, which is cherry and blue raspberry with vanilla. Also, the chocolate covered cherry, mint chocolate chip (tastes just like the ice cream or maybe better! with real chocolate chips) and their most recent flavor, pumpkin pie! Definitely a recommendation, parking is plentiful and there is indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance is great inside with Island music. They also have hot dogs, though I've never had one, and from talking with the owner they are going to start hot kettle soups in the winter. Plus they have old fashioned candies on the counter. Cannot rave enough about this place. Try it out for yourself! :) It is Cash Only (as of 9/15/12), so be prepared for that. read more

Coco's is located just off Rte 12 in Auburn, a stone's throw from the Auburn Mall. They serve a bunch of different flavors of Italian ice and "gelati," which is actually a mixture of ice cream and Italian ice served in a paper cup. The menu of flavorsis extensive and very creative, with fun choices like "purple cow" and "patriot(blue raspberry and cherry)" among them. Donna, the proprietor, was happy to give my girlfriend's kids free samples of a number of the flavors to help them decide. It wasn't very busy when we went, so I dont know how patient shed have been with this if there'd been a line waiting behind us. You end up with a lot for your dollar, as paper cups of the sizes they're using hold plenty of ice cream. All in all, though,, I like real ice cream better than the mixture served at Coco's. Still, everyone was happy, the bill was just fifteen bucks for five s all gelati, and this place is worth a visit. read more

There truly is something for everyone here. Donna is always thinking about what people might be allergic to, and so she had several flavors that are either dairy free, gluten free, high fructose corn syrup free, or a combination of those. She even has one dye free flavor that is occasionally available! The ices are delicious and fresh, and the service is friendly and not at all rushed. There are all kinds of games available if you want to have a little fun while you enjoy your ice, or you can sit at the outside tables and enjoy the sunshine. This business is a great, locally owned addition to Auburn. Skip the food court at the mall and visit Coco's instead. read more

This place is just the best! The variety of ice is vast and there are always new creations to try! The root beer float (combo of ice and soft serve ice cream) is a family favorite. I bought an on-line coupon for this place. In an effort to use it before it expired, I went there during a snow storm last winter - they were closed due to the storm. I called a few days later to ask if they would extend the coupon since I was there during normal business hours before the coupon expired and wasn't able to use it. Here's where it gets good. The girl said no and was rude about it. I asked to speak to the owner. After some reluctance, she put a guy on the phone who said he was the manager. He agreed that that would not honor the coupon I bought...even the original amount I spent! It gets better.... After a few minutes of debate, he admitted he was the owner and said it was MY FAULT for waiting too long, even if I tried to go before it expired. So...I never actually went there and I never will. I feel like people should know about my negative experience in case they try to buy a Groupon, coupon, etc. Bad customer service usually equals a bad dining experience. read more
