I've been to a lot of ice cream establishments and this place is by far the best. There are so many great flavors of frozen yogurt it's hard to pick. The ice cream is Richardson's so, of course it's excellent. Then to top it off the owner,Sunil, is amazing. I had a personalized ice cream cake made (which we got many compliments on) and now the owner greets me by name every time I come in. Which, while sitting at a table - I realized is a common thing here...Sunil seems to know everyone's name that comes in here...amazing! read more

Family owned with super friendly staff. The store is nicely laid out and there are even some picnic tables out front to sit at. They have a great selection of flavors, sizes & toppings. My favorite thing was that you could actually get a sundae that was a real small. I love sundaes but most of the time even the small is way too big for me. The new owner really needs to step up his game. Service is terrible now, plan on a long wait on a hot day. We were in there on the last day of school at noon (when all the kids were getting out). It was a hot day and they had ONE person scooping, which is tedious considering how long it takes to make one soft-serve cone with mix-ins there when the person is moving quickly. This scooper was NOT! It seems he knew the line would be out the door no matter what, so his speed did not change. The one other person behind the counter did nothing but take orders and money and just kept piling up the slips in front of the poor kid scooping. NOT ONCE did he even make a move towards the ice cream to help move things along. I have also heard that they are bringing kids in for a week of "training" and NOT PAYING THEM FOR TRAINING THEM! Not sure who, but someone should be looking into this. Hopefully this is just a new owner learning the ropes and it will be cleared up and back to normal soon. read more

They should really update their menu and remove items they can't/won't do. My husband went today and tried to order a Raspberry-Lime Rickey for me, which they have advertised in-store and online, only the kids working *couldn't* make one. So disappointed in the downhill turn Mad Willie's has taken the last few years. As a business: We were frequent visitors under the previous ownership and curious to see if the new owner could fill the large shoes left behind. Our first visit there, everything was similar. My youngest was yelling for additional toppings when he saw his brother got "more than him" the new owner, Sunill (I found out later) heard him screaming and quickly handed over a cup of extra toppings. I offered to pay, but he said, "no charge." That's how you do business and speaks to how they understand families. . As a neighbor and member of Framingham's community: Sunill completely went above and beyond when a donation was requested. Pitching in to help a local school. The donation was extremely generous. Mad Willies stepped in and helped out when others would not. As an ice cream shop: It's our families go-to spot. The "kiddie" size is the equivalent to most shop's "small". Love the yogurt and mix ins. Great value for the money, short lines, clean place. So happy to support this local business. read more

This is a great little family-owned Ice Cream Shoppe! In many ways, it is similar to Cabot's Ice Cream in Newton, but without the restaurant aspects. I loved that they have so many low-fat or non-fat options. They use a chocolate or vanilla base and then have about 80 different options of stuff to mix into it. I had an Andes mint and White Chocolate yogurt. If you prefer ice cream, they have about 30 different varieties to select from. I was tempted to get a Green Monster ice cream cone as I adore mint, but was lured by the white chocolate. I'd highly recommend this if you're interested in a low-fat option or some place off the beaten track with quirky flavours. read more

So the wife and I go here a lot. I love the frozen yogurt and the mix-ins. My wife says the change in management has made a drop in quality. But I don't really know. It seems to be the same local teens working a summer gig. They can only seem to get my order right about half the time. And they are constantly out of mix-ins. Or don't have what is on the website. It is almost as if the website and the store have no affiliation with each other. The website has a specific order procedure and a list of ingredients. But if you go to the store with that ordering procedure they never know what you want and often they don't have the mix-ins on the website and look at you strange for requesting such out of the blue stuff. read more

This is the best homemade ice cream in Metro West, as far as I am concerned. I find that you can always tell the true quality of home made ice cream based on their pistachio. If it is good, then everything is good. This place is no exception! They have dozens of frozen flavors to tickle your taste buds, including many frozen yogurt and sugar free options. Have you ever seen an ice cream pie? Neither had I until I saw their freezer. Want a little food before desert? Have a hot dog and some chips. The ice cream selection is huge. The offerings range from shakes to hot fudge sundaes to cakes. More toppings than you could ever want. Everything tastes great. Lots of low fat and fat free options (that is, until you add the extensive toppings). And the owners are probably the nicest people you'll ever meet. I called them once late on a Saturday night to see if they were still open - they said they were closing but would wait until we arrived before closing up shop. What chain would ever do that? The prices are more than reasonable for what they offer. During those warm summer days there is no place better - not even dairy queen. This a cute little, family owned ice cream shop. They have tons of low fat and fat free options. Sugar free frozen yogurt, etc. The list of toppings is overwhelming in a good way. You chose your flavor and toppings and they blend it for you!! I like the vanilla Fro Yo with peanute butter, peanut butter cups and butterfinger bars. YUMMMM!!! This spot is hands down the greatest local ice cream spot. The staff gives great service and the owner personally greets and establishes a relationship with the regular customers. The quality of the ice cream is amazing with a huge variety of options (hard serve flavors, fat free frozen yogurt, frappes, sundaes etc.) as well as toppings. OMG I love this place and I wish I had known about it like 5 years ago. They have Amazing choices, amazing flavors, amazing prices. I had the Frozen yogurt- which you can choose from like a million flavors- and choose multiple ones for your own combo- so I had the mocha and the chocolate brownie, in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. (which was amazing, but didnt need the chocolate dip part of the cone-- way too much chocolate!!) And also got to try a bite of the peanut butter fudge sundae- both selections totaled under $10. Very Very Very disappointed. After going to their website and hearing other about how wonderful this place is for lobster rolls etc. My partner and I decided to go there for a quick bit and some ice cream. FAIL. We get there and they are out of lobster. it is 1 in the afternoon. So I said fine how about chicken salad. FAIL. We are out of buns to put it on. Really!!! Meh. So they have a huge list of frozen yogurts they claim to be soft serve. But its all based on hard vanilla or chocolate hockey pucks as a base that get "softened" in the mix-ins machine with whatever flavors you want. Can't even get a simple vanilla/chocolate twist. Total FAIL read more

It was hot and stuffy and the placement of the menu chalkboard is awkward (makes it hard to tell if people are in line or reading the menu, etc). Stopped by tonight and I'm glad we did. It's great to see that a local ice cream shop is open this time of year on weeknights (the sign on the door says they're open until sometime in December). Ended up ordering 2 quarts and a pint for takeout. After we'd paid and were waiting for our order - my wife asked if we could get some sugar cones and jimmies to go. The woman said - no charge (with a big smile). I fully expected that she'd charge us for them - but it was nice to see that a local family run shop knows how to treat customers. Excellent homemade ice cream and soft serve in as many flavors as you can imagine including make-your-own. The "small" cone is like a regular size, so if you want just one scoop or what other places would consider a small, go for a "kiddie." I've been going here ever since they opened a few years ago and it is my favorite place for ice cream around and I go no where else. My favorite thing to do is get ice cream in pints and quarts to take home and enjoy for days -they even let you get half one flavor and half another. It's just awesome. Space inside is a little tight so I recommend going on a warm summer night so you can sit outside or take it to go. read more
