Since 2011, they've created hand-made artisanal truffles, bark, and wrapped chocolates just twenty miles west of Boston. We saw them being promoted on a television news show, and since we both have a weakness for chocolate, decided to give their "Trio Nut Bark" a go. It came in a pretty boxed gift set with three different chocolate barks in generously portioned 3" X 3" squares. There were four squares of each of the three flavors for a total of twelve yummy squares. Here are the over-the-top descriptions from their website: 1) Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark sprinkled with delicate French grey sea salt 2) Creamy White Chocolate Bark with the satisfying crunch of green hued slightly sweet pistachios 3) Smooth Milk Chocolate Bark with the delightful crunch of roasted buttery Cashews So how did our $24.50 + shipping chocolates taste? The Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark was top notch. Excellent dark chocolate flavor, plenty of big almond pieces, and that light touch of sea salt really finished it off. The Creamy White Chocolate Bark was excellent, and I was impressed by the large amount of full-sized pistachio nuts in the square. The Milk Chocolate Bark was fantastic -smooth, creamy, and sweet with plenty of crushed cashews to boost up the taste and add to the texture. They were all so good, I really can't say I had a favorite. In summary, their chocolates are magnificent. I went here for a chocolate making class which includes a small lesson on how chocolate is made, bean to bar tasting, decorating, and making our own truffles to take home! This was a fantastic experience started with sampling some of their popular flavors. All were wonderful and we got to sample as Pam, the co owner, explained what was in each truffle. We then went with Rick to start making the ganache. You can tell he was very passionate about his work as he thoroughly told us about chocolate and how it needs to be mixed just right and at the right temperature to give you that experience of it melting perfectly in your mouth. Once that was setting up we learned how chocolate is made from David, the co owner. Again, the passion and love for what he does shows in his excitement in his presentation. Everyone is so friendly and warm here. I think it's because they get to spend their day surrounded by the most delicious chocolates! Everything is delicious. It's hard to choose what you want but I always grab one of their giant dark chocolate pecan turtles. Incredible! They also are willing to host private chocolate-making events that you can schedule with your friends or with your colleagues. You can learn to make chocolates and bring wine. Our company had a team building chocolate-making chocolate therapy event at Chocolate Therapy. It was great! We had 13 people divided into three teams. We were given a list of ingredients to select from to create our own truffles and then each team's creation was judged and a winner was chosen by Chocolate Factory owners. It was very fun! We also received a little chocolate history and sampling of their delicious chocolates. It was approximately an hour an half and the owners were so hospitable and fun. Highly recommended. read more

I think I am falling in love....oh wait I have always loved chocolate... how could I forget. This is a cute little shop. Not much to see but plenty of space and a few tables/bar style tables. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. They know all of the ins and outs of every piece they sell. They make the majority of them in the shop and the other ones come from local businesses. They source local and the best ingredients for all of them. One of the owners - Pam was the one who helped me. She was very knowledgable about every ingredient in the chocolates and was able to tell me exactly what to expect and how the flavors paired together. I am a true believer in "you get what you pay for"! The prices seem a tiny bit on the high side until you taste them - then you know you are paying the price for quality and indulgence. They also have ice cream and coffees, teas, etc. The Boston tea Iced tea is very good. It is 1/2 iced tea and 1/2 cranberry juice with cinnamon - just try it! read more

Greeted by pleasant sights and smells, as well as a kind staff, you will be happy when you enter Chocolate Therapy. The following based on my first visit here, in which I got several macarons and chocolates. The second my friend and I walked in, we were welcomed by a friendly staff member who help us select our treats. She was patient and very friendly, explaining the flavors of the macarons, verifying that each selection we made a popular choice among customers. I had a mixed reaction to the macarons. I selected a coffee and a chocolate macaron. The texture and overall structure of the macarons was absolutely perfect!! The first bite revealed a crunch, but melt-in-your-mouth wafer with a light buttercream. I did not feel at all gross or regretful after indulging in this macaron. Despite its perfect baking, the macarons were very off in flavor. The coffee lacked a notable coffee flavor; it was very plain tasting. The chocolate was overwhelmingly chocolate-flavored. If you're into chocolate, this is for you. I like chocolate, but the flavor really hits you in the mouth with CHOCOLATE. It was choc[late] full of chocolatey flavor. The sea salt caramels were nothing special. They were decent, but my friend and I have tasted better [and more affordable]. Chocolate Therapy is very expensive. A petite macaron (about [a generous at most] two inches in diameter) costs $1.25, and the two pieces of sea salt caramels (about 1 inch squared) cost about $4 [$1.90 each or so]. Additionally, there was a relatively limited selection, particularly of macarons and of specialty chocolates. The two display cases were very underwhelming. It had Richardson's Ice Cream, sure, but why not make and offer more specialty chocolates instead? It would be in the shop's best interest to capitalize on its clever name. Compared to other chocolatiers, like the fantastic Munson's (found in Connecticut), Chocolate Therapy is average. Not fantastic, but not bad--average. read more

The whole store is like a scene from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, with a stress on the variety and types of chocolates they produce. I had a chance to sample a few of those before I placed my order. One thing I found prominent at the styles of chocolates at this store, they aren't "overpoweringly" sweet, rather each chocolate shows a subtlety of flavors. I ended up buying two different kinds of chocolates, one called The Cure, made with cayenne, cinnamon and chocolate, the treat had some delicate yet a passionate flavor. Drove here during pouring rain to buy some host gifts for people I am visiting this weekend. The lights were all off and shades were pulled down. I called the store and got a message listing the business hours, which included the time I was there. I went on the website and saw they are closed "for severe weather" today. Very annoying! I don't see any other businesses closing for that reason, it's heavy rain, not like we are getting a blizzard in July. This tiny shop - hand makes the confections! They are knowledgeable about confection and very attentive to the customer's needs. The location is a but curious, tucked around the side of a building, but well worth the effort to find. I gave a box to a friend, who was going to let the kids have it. I visited Chocolate Therapy for the first time last night and had the most wonderful experience! Pam and Dave are so patient in explaining the time and care that goes into each of their creations. They will most DEFINITELY find the perfect chocolate for you or anyone you may be shopping for. Not one to usually enjoy dark chocolate, theirs is SO delicious I was instantly converted. I purchased a box of a variety and cannot WAIT to sample each (I will admit, I ate a macaroon for breakfast. What!?) I love that their chocolates actually have therapeutic ingredients infused like cayenne in "The Cure," cinnamon and bay leaf in others. The Sea Salt Caramel, Pom Balm and Cure are my favorite thus far but I have many others yet to sample! Definitely pop by this hidden gem for a treat, when searching for the perfect gift, planning a corporate event and they even do wonderful birthday parties for ages 8+ (chocolate fountain included!) I recently booked a chocolate making class on a Saturday for a friends bachelorette party. During the process of booking the party, the store assistant and owners were so accommodating with our group (as we weren't sure exactly how many people would be attending at the time of booking). We also wanted to do have mimosa's and the owners were kind enough to set that up for us (for a reasonable fee) and even included a beautiful bowl of strawberries and samples of their truffles (SO GOOD!). When we arrived, we had some time to mingle and drink mimosa's, then we split into 2 teams and chose flavors that we would want to make our truffles with. We got a lesson on truffle making and then went to work creating our delicious truffles. While the truffles were cooling, we got an informative lesson on the history of chocolate and got to chat with one of the owners (Pam), who was delightful to talk with. After the truffles cooled we ran them through the machine to coat them with chocolate and then we boxed them up - each of us got to take home about 10 truffles that we created ourselves. Stopped by Chocolate Therapy one night after dinner at a nearby restaurant around 8:30 PM for some dessert. Even at this time of day the owners Dave and Pam were still there putting some work into their new location in Framingham (about 4 weeks old at the time). We chatted a bit about their thoughts on creating a chocolate center with, among other things, several chocolate making courses. Was great to hear two people with a great love for what they do. On to the chocolates...Very beautiful in the cases, so I really wanted to try everything. They have color-coded signs to specify what is made in-house and what is sourced from other local chocalatiers. They offered, truffles in beautiful darks and lovely milk chocolates, some barks and other treats. With flavors from cold-pressed olive oil, to peanut butter and coconut to chili pepper with bay leaf and cinnamon, I know that I will find interesting things here for a while. I tried a milk chocolate champagne truffle in the shape of a heart and the chili, bay leaf cinnamon. The milk chocolate was exquisitely creamy and the filling quite lovely. This was well offset by the strong flavors of the other. Many chocolates claim to contain chili but it was actually noticeable in this along with the full rich taste of bay leaf, my taste buds are begging for another dose as I type this! Excellent chocolates and Pam even made me an espresso with their new machine before it was on the menu! Definitely check them out! read more

There are standard and many unusual chocolate flavors and a really nice assortment of small baked goods. There is a room for parties and kids seemed to be having a great time. I stopped in the shop the other day after seeing the owners and their business on the local news. I was happy to meet one of the owners while I was there. The shop is pretty much limited to truffles and beverages. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The truffles are a little pricey but they are well worth it as everything is hand-made and they use top-notch ingredients. They even make their own marshmallow. My favorite truffle by far was the sweet potato truffle. It had such an interesting flavor! The other truffle I liked a lot was the dark chocolate salted caramel. The truffles are really beautiful. Reserved a b-day party for our daughter, called twice before the actual party to get details, was sold on how kids will taste all kind of chocolate, how they will have a chocolate fondue dipping strawberries, marshmallows, cookies and other things, how fun it will all be. A BIG dissapointment! First, the owner who led the party told us how tired she was once we got through the door, it was no entertainment, a dedicated room, the video did not work, so skip that, there was no showing how chocolate is made in reality, pizza was thrown on plates, it was a hassle for the lady, I had hopes that if it is an owner so will care for own business...did not seem so. Testing chocolate-was a joke, some shavings if you can call it, smalled pieces than a chocolate chip -cheaped out, as to foundue-girls could have two pieces dipped and that is all, that is not what I was told when booking a party. Girls were told if they drop it on the floor, they would not get another one....I would think twice before saying that. As to working with girls i would even say the lady was rude, did not make anything special about b-day child. Decorating moulded chocolate was ok, kind of rushed. I WOULD NOT RETURN TO THAT SHOP OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!! In addition, be aware when you book a party like this you pay$25 a person, plus they add fees and 10% gratiuties which makes it $30/child, that is not cheap. NOT WORTH IT! We had our all time best ever girl scout troop meeting here today! For a cost of $16 per girl, we had a 1.5 hour chocolate making lesson from the owners, Pam and David (who are awesome with kids and super smart and personable!), and each girls made 2 gourmet style bon bons and 1 molded and painted chocolate. They also got a cup of hot cocoa and a presentation on the history and science of chocolate making, and a badge to add to their sashes. LOVED IT!!!!!! read more

I visited this store after purchasing a Groupon. The shop is kind of hidden on Route 9 in Framingham, but it is a must visit! The shop is very cute; it has homemade chocolates, ice cream, coffee, and more. There were many boxed items that were good for gifts. Creative touches included chocolates packaged in bottles that look like pill bottles, for "emergency use". I tried the sea salt dark chocolate caramel and it was the best caramel I have ever had (and I LOVE chocolate)!! The caramel was so smooth and creamy, it just melted in your mouth. I also tried the mini macaroons (lemon and raspberry), which were pretty good. The peanut butter cups were a slight disappointment as there wasn't really much peanut butter in them. Lastly, I tried the chocolate covered coconut macaroon which was delicious. I highly recommend Chocolate Therapy for chocolate lovers! I will be heading back soon! read more

I went to Chocolate Therapy tonight for the first time and met the owners Pam and David. Not only do they make great chocolates, but they are such kind and genuine people. Conversation comes naturally and you can tell that they are truly passionate about their chocolates. Their new chocolatier, Rick, is extremely talented and has made some of the best chocolates I've ever tasted. The heart shaped champagne chocolate (perfect for valentines day - hint, hint) is so light with a unique and delightful flavor. Best of all, you can taste the champagne which, in my opinion, makes this treat worth every penny! I was most surprised, however, by the sugar free Vitamin C truffle. I would have never tried this truffle without Pam's suggestion because who willingly eats sugar free chocolate if they don't have to? Well I do now, but only if it's from Chocolate Therapy! I don't usually choose to pair citrus flavors (in this case, tangerine, orange and lemon) with chocolate, but this was so refreshing! Refreshing and truffle usually do not go together, but in this case it is true! It's also the perfect gift for people who need to watch their sugar intake! I know I'll be back for more! My other favorites include: Sea Salted Caramel, and BUZZ Mallow! Overall, though, the best part about eating these chocolates is that they are made with unique ingredients such as raw honey, and olive as well as coconut oils (among many others) that also have beneficial properties. This place is a hidden gem. You might not realize its there, as it is set back from rte 9, but just look for their sign. They have a great selection of chocolates that will blow your mind. And the best part is that each chocolate is made with all-natural ingredients that have healthy benefits. You can find cardamum, cinnamon, beeswax, citrus, coconut oil-- anything you want and it is all delicious. Probably the best chocolate store I've come across in the area. Reasonably priced and very much worth your money. If you are in the area, you should definitely check them out. This store would be perfect for a holiday gift, especially valentine's day. They also have classes you can book (might make a good birthday present, particularly for children). Also, they have a selection of sugar-free chocolates and truffles. The owner, Pam, gave me one to sample, saying that I wouldn't believe there was no sugar in it. She was right-- it was one of the best chocolates I've ever tasted and they have it in both milk and dark.
