My mom and I stopped in here on a whim today. We had a super early flight and stopped at the Dunkin next door to this shop for coffee, only to find they were closed. In desperate need for caffeine, we saw this Donut Express & Custom Cakes across the parking lot with the open sign on and decided to pop in to still get our coffee and donut fix. I can confidently say I will NEVER stop at Dunkin again if this shop is open as it was SO good! The service was warm, friendly, and prompt... and I had, no exaggeration, the best donut I've ever had in my life. I picked a classic honey dip and my mom had the raised sugar donut. They were SO fresh, fluffy, and tasty. The taste of the donut was only topped by the warm welcome we received from the lady serving us this morning, and seeing how kind they were to others in the shop (who were clearly regulars) also made us very happy we stumbled upon this gem. Delicious! Best darn glazed donut I've had in years. Super fresh. Have passed by it over the years when visiting the area and finally stopped in. Sad, I missed this special delicacy for so long. Good news is I know better to stop in when I get back! Nice server, a good verity of treats, and reasonably priced. Cake review! This year because of the pandemic I had to be away from my parents for the first time on my birthday. My former professional baker mom always makes me an amazing cake every year. Bakeries are usually a no go because of my nut allergy and because Mom's cakes are always better. BUT Donut Express came through! Writing this review on behalf of my husband who declares this to be his favorite local donut shop. The cake donuts are awesome and honey dipped are our favorite but make sure to go in early or they will be gone. The flavored coffee is also really good. A rare find, I was in Medfield for my son's early Saturday baseball games at the High School down the road and decided to pay the shop a visit. The donuts on display look spectacular, fluffy and airy. Our favorite were the croissants with bacon and cheese and sausage. My son ate one bacon croissant in between the doubleheader, another one after the game, and then another one at home around 4pm. I wish they could move their shop to our town further up north to Westford. read more

They have great flavored iced coffee-- made from flavored beans, not flavored with syrup. They also offer almond milk for a non-dairy option. Very nice people and delicious baked goods. Donuts especially are cheap. I once got a custom cake from here and they really took the time to listen to what I was looking for. The cake came out great. Best donuts west of Boston. The owner is in the back room making them herself, and you'll get them warm if you're there early. She manages to make them light and soft on the inside, just the right amount of firmness and crispiness on the outside. The obviously corrupt Medfield town fathers outrageously allowed them to put a Dunkin' Donuts right next door, yet Donuts Express still thrives. People who want coffee that actually has a coffee flavor to it come here. People who like donuts that taste like wadded up wonder bread with their sweetened hot brownish water go next door to DDs. read more

Yum! The donuts are fresh and delicious! My favorite is just the simple honey dip, chocolate dip second favorite. They also have good croissants and muffins. On the times I found myself out in Suburbia (having commuted from a Neighboring town), I would occasionally bring a dozen donuts from Donut Express into work for team members. They were always enjoyed by all, and were a great departure from the typical Dunkin' Donuts fare that is shoved down every New Englander's throat from 6-9AM every morning. Donut Express has a limited selection of flavors, but those they do have are far fresher and tastier than DD. These donuts aren't earth shattering, but they will certainly remind you what you may take for granted cause of mass-produced Donut chains. Given the fact that alternatives to the Dunkin's are slim in Massachusetts, Donut Express gets a nod from me. read more

Absolutely GREAT donuts! One of the girls at work recently moved to Medway and drives by this place on her way to and from work. The highest praise I can give Donut Express is that their cake donuts compare quite favorably to Allie's Doughnuts in North Kingstown, RI. We were on our way to a hike with our dog, and looked for a quick breakfast on the way. Our arrival was well past 10AM, so we did not expect much choice, and we were right. However, we were able to sample the three basic types: a plain cake, a honey-dipped and a filled. The plain cake was perfect, with the crunch of the exterior leading to a moist cake within. At our request, they put chocolate frosting on one, and the frosting was lovely, not overly sweet. The lemon filled raised was a delight, with a perfect dough surrounding just the right amount of not-too-sweet lemon goo. The last, a honey dipped, had more icing than we'd have liked, but that's not to say we wouldn't gladly eat one again. It's perhaps a good thing that Medfield is not too close to home; we would be there daily. Go, but go early. read more

Well then - I work in Boston and have had some great donuts. This place stands with the places in Boston! Glad to know there is a yummy donut place near by that can satisfy the need! Got there a little later then I had hoped and there was not a huge selection - but the Chocolate Glazed and the Honey Glazed were PERFECTION. I would love to pop in early in the day and try some other flavors that they had run out of by the time I got there - makes me need to go again soon!
