My mom was visiting from out of town and wanted a matcha tea, so I brought her to my favorite spot. The service is always great. They have a variety of pastries, breakfast sandwiches, pizza, subs , teas and coffees. I got the "All Things Caramel " and she got the " White Chocolate Matcha". Delish She says this is now her favorite spot!

Basil stems is a "fuck you" from the pizza chef.

Good. Lord. (*I'll preface this by saying I'm a former pizza chef, and by loose estimate I've eaten over 1500 pizzas. I've made a similar number.) The pizza I got last week from their Quincy location is, without a doubt, one of the worst pizzas of my entire life. Astoundingly bad. First off we tried going to the Weymouth location, but were told the oven closes an HOUR before the store does. Ok whatever. The Quincy location closes an hour later; I'll just go drive there. Order two pies, get home, and lose my mind: The website lists the margarita pizza as "sliced mozzarella on top of red sauce", which is how I prefer it (vs slices of tomatoes). Meanwhile the pizza I got was just straight up cheese with zero sauce, and a few slimy wedges of brown tomatoes slapped down haphazardly. Someone ABSOLUTELY took a few HANDFULS of basil, and just threw them on my pizza with zero attempt to spread them out for proper flavor. Basil gets overwhelming real fast, so this was a clear incompetent move. Also, YOU DONT COOK THE BASIL ON A MARGARITA PIZZA! You put it on afterwards to maintain the color and texture, otherwise they turn dark and wither. And you DEFINITELY don't leave the STEMS attached??? WTF? This pizza was so bad I had to dismantle it and add my own ingredients to reheat and make barely palatable. It was rolled out way too thin, with the center being potato chip consistency while the crust is overflowing with excess dough. My wife's wasn't that bad, but it was made and boxed like a jackass so the slices were folded over. If it wasn't closed by the time I saw all this, I would have brought it back, requested a refund and NEVER went back. Soup to nuts this was one of the worst executions I've ever seen. And I used to live up the street from this bakery for 13 years, so I've gotten their pizza plenty of times. It's kind of a known thing with Montillios pizza; yes it can be amazing sometimes, but it can also be a sloppy, lazy disaster. The inconsistency just isn't worth the gamble. Better off hitting up the Papa Gino's a couple miles away if you like this style of pizza but don't want to gamble getting just utter trash.

I come here for the sweet tarts. I absolutely love them when they're fresh. They're sweet and tart and satisfy that sweet tooth without feeling too guilty. I have also tried the strawberry whipped cake a cheesecake some of their coffees and I've had pizza here, which is all really great, but the thing I love the most is the sweet tart.

This place used to be the best . Cakes for presidents. Not anymore ! Have had multiple cakes from there that are old and dry . Even when you preorder it was dry and hard . Living off the name . It's a shame !!!! No more Shaws makes a better product.

Discovered a new dessert I was not aware till now, it's a cup cake that resembles the iconic HOSTESS CUPCAKES with the beloved White Icing circles on top of the Chocolate icing and chocolate cake with an icing middle! What a new tasty treat . Over $4.00 a cupcake !

They had a huge option to choose from. Everything looked DELICIOUS! It was so hard to choose a dessert because of how much options there were. I got a dessert and it was sooo good. I also got pizza and it tasted like it was from heaven. The people were also very nice that worked there! Ignore the 1 star reviews and go to this place ASAP! All the 1 star review are just haters

Middle average dessert place close to me in Quincy. From cookies, to cheesecake slices, to small cakes, pizza, subs, etc Got apple and Oreo cheesecake. Oreo wasn't good. Just plain cheesecake with Oreo crumbs on top. The apple one wasn't too bad as well as the mini carrot cake. The mini pecan one was personally not a favorite of mine but it tasted like sticky pecan bark

My order that was filled incorrectly by Montilio's with a plain chocolate cake instead of the "Legendary Italian Rum Cake."

Very bad experience with this bakery. They brag about their "Traditional Italian Rum Cake', but they screwed up major when it was ordered for delivery. They sent me an ordinary chocolate cake with cloying white frosting between the layers - there was absolutely nothing special about it. I had ordered their "famous" Traditional Italian Rum Cake for a special family birthday party, and what I got was a featureless run-of-the-mill cake. It was a huge disappointment, and the company has yet to apologize for their error. Goldbelly refunded my payment, but they have assured me that it was Montilio's error. Someone on the Montilio staff placed a plebian chocolate cake in the shipping box instead of the Italian Rum Cake I ordered, and, incredibly, that unwanted chocolate cake was accompanied by THEIR OWN FLYER BOASTING ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL THEIR ITALIAN RUM CAKE IS! Well, I'll never shop Montilio's Baking Company again because they can't be trusted to do the right thing, either in shipping the correct order or apologizing for their messing up.

Our Wedding Cake: Carrot Cake base with Chocolate Cake Mountains - it was Excellent!!

Montilio's Bakery in Quincy made our Wedding Cake years ago - it was a custom (tall) carrot cake base with several chocolate cake "mountains" on the top to fit our hiking/skiing theme. IT WAS AN EXCELLENT CAKE!! The flavors were over the top and 19 years later we are *Still* receiving compliments over how Great the cake was that day. I wrapped a piece of the carrot cake to save for our 1st Anniversary and it was equally both moist & delicious a year later! I'm forever grateful to the Experts at Montilio's for their baking skills and talented cake decorators. Their creation was a centerpiece at our Wedding reception!

First of all I waited for like 20 minutes while five kids sat around and played with each other that were running the store. One of the kids had buckets on his head that I presume for pizza crust which made me not want to really eat anything there. They had star cookies that were two for a dollar I thought that might be the best deal so I bought 20 of them for $10. I'm not sure if this is where they put the old stale stuff in market like it's on sale or some thing but they were horrible so I'll just have to throw them all away. Basically I paid them to throw their trash out for them. Thanks for the trash. Looks can be deceiving. They look like good cookies I could feed my kids go anywhere but here. I thought that she used to be a good name that's why I stopped here apparently it's a new ownership for the family didn't know the old recipes.

Coming in, I first could see the individually portioned rectangles of cakes and viennoiseries. No prices. That's actually a pet peeve of mine, as I dislike needing to take up the attention of a employee just to ask what the price is of something, in case another customer is behind me. Next, to the left, I spied their various baklava type sweets. But we are trying to eat fewer sweets, so initially I thought this might just be a reconnaissance visit. Further along yielded some savories. I pointed at and asked for one apiece of their chicken phyllo triangle (chicken briwat - shredded spiced chicken with sweet onion), the spinach flatbread (spinach herb cheese), and semolina pancake (Golden Pancake). These were pretty good. And service was nice. The sweets I picked up on another visit were poofy, but the filling ratio a bit off. Averaging out to maybe 3.5 in my book?

One would think a 1,000+ reviews in I'd gain some level of confidence! Yet, there are still reviews where I feel I am just winging it. Of course, I try to give my thoughts and opinions as best I can, still, I feel as though I were approaching 30 and can't believe I am technically an adult. This is the case with Pastry Land. I've been in here probably half a dozen times, and only now have I decided to put words on paper by wasting your time with irrelevant metaphors. ONWARDS! Pastry Land has great European style cakes and pastries. Their selection is wide and varied, and the quality is terrific! Everything I've had is distinct, scrumptious, and not over-sweet. Okay, great, so why four stars? Well, with the exception of a pistachio baklava square that knocked my socks off, I didn't find their goods were above and beyond sufficient as to drag me back with the same magnetism as Tatté or Flour (for e.g. - I know these are in different categories). They meet expectations, which is a solid four in my book. For some final notes: I feel that the value is fair in light of the quality. Also, the location itself is spacious, very clean, and the staff are friendly.

What we ordered: -Rainbow cake: 4/5, this one was very interesting and we really enjoyed it. It had a fruit essence to it (versus vanilla cake dyed rainbow colors) paired with a very sweet frosting. -Nutella cake: 4/5, cake was soft and fluffy with great Nutella whipped frosting and thick Nutella between the layers. -NY cheesecake: 0/5, it tasted kind of spoiled? -Chocolate ganache cake: 3/5, it was very underwhelming, the crunchy pearls in it gave it a weird texture when you bit those with the soft cake. And it was a simple "can you add hazelnut to the coffee, or whats different about the korean coffee?" Overall, the experience was fast to the point that I didnt even finish paying before my coffee was served. Food delicious. Vibes are good.
