I happen to pass by Pastry Land and it caught my eye. Pastry? That sounded good. And a quick glance at Yelp yielded a 4.5 star rating. Coming in, I first could see the individually portioned rectangles of cakes and viennoiseries. No prices. That's actually a pet peeve of mine, as I dislike needing to take up the attention of a employee just to ask what the price is of something, in case another customer is behind me. Next, to the left, I spied their various baklava type sweets. But we are trying to eat fewer sweets, so initially I thought this might just be a reconnaissance visit. Further along yielded some savories. I pointed at and asked for one apiece of their chicken phyllo triangle (chicken briwat - shredded spiced chicken with sweet onion), the spinach flatbread (spinach herb cheese), and semolina pancake (Golden Pancake). You know how when we were kids we thought [most] adults had it all figured out? Then, even as we approach or surpass 30 we all realize: "I still don't know what the heck I'm doing half of the time." The same is true of me and my reviews. One would think a 1,000+ reviews in I'd gain some level of confidence! Yet, there are still reviews where I feel I am just winging it. Of course, I try to give my thoughts and opinions as best I can, still, I feel as though I were approaching 30 and can't believe I am technically an adult. This is the case with Pastry Land. I've been in here probably half a dozen times, and only now have I decided to put words on paper by wasting your time with irrelevant metaphors. ONWARDS! Pastry Land has great European style cakes and pastries. Their selection is wide and varied, and the quality is terrific! Everything I've had is distinct, scrumptious, and not over-sweet. Okay, great, so why four stars? Well, with the exception of a pistachio baklava square that knocked my socks off, I didn't find their goods were above and beyond sufficient as to drag me back with the same magnetism as Tatté or Flour (for e.g. - I know these are in different categories). This was an impromptu stop for some baked goods and tea. Finding a parking spot was a bit hard but managed one. We ordered Black Forest cake, pistachio cake and caramel cake with coffee and Moroccan mint tea. Loved the tea and all the cakes. The service was great. The restaurant was clean and roomy. Opened in Quincy about less than a year ago, this bakery features beautifully crafted French pastries...croissants, mille feuille, cookies, and my favorite, pain aux raisins. I popped in before headed to work so I could snag a box of these pastries for my team. So glad i did!! During the late summer, I tried a bunch of pastries from this bakery. I got an almond croissant, slice of mango mousse cake, and a minced beef wrap. The almond croissant was average. It was soft but not very crispy and flaky. The mango mousse cake was way too sour for my taste. My favorite thing was the minced beef wrap. Although it was cold, it tasted delicious. read more

I could give this place 4 stars since there's no other place nearby that's like it but 3 stars since I don't think the "European"pastries that they sell are made in-house. There are other sweets sold that are more Indian/Asian like samosas, etc but they are too pricey! read more

Since arriving in Quincy, Pastry Land has become my go-to for those times when I want to sit and scroll through my phone while drinking a cup of hot tea and enjoying some of the most decadent, scrumptious homemade Moroccan dessert's I've ever had! Although I recommend the pistachio cake for its flavor and out-of-this-world texture, there is always an assortment of light lunch fare and pastries to choose from. There should be more staff at this establishment. Both times I've been, the same two women have been manning the till and the grill. They are both exceedingly nice, but would benefit from some support. This time the omelet had mozzarella cheese, a huge improvement over processed American. Nice bakery. Ordered a turkey sandwich ( I thought they had given me ham by the looks of it but they said it was smoked turkey). The bread was a seeded baguette and very fresh. At first when I ordered the sandwich they took me over to look at prepared savory pastries, so I had to clarify that I wanted a sandwich. I ate in. The only downside was it was a warm day and they had the doors open and no air conditioning, so it was a tad uncomfortable. I'll stop by to try more things. read more

The desserts did not taste stale when we tried them though. Drink selection is small and average quality. Food cases are refrigerated as they don't turn on the air conditioner. Front, side and back doors were propped open allowing summer heat and flies to enter. Establishment is large and roomy with multiple tables and plenty of seating. Street parking available in front or at the adjacent Quincy owned lot for $1 per hour. read more

Cannot say enough good things about this place!! The pastries were delicious! I tried an almond croissant, baklavas, and the caramel mini cake~ all delicious and incredible. The place itself is also very clean and quite large! It's a little hard to find because they're newer and don't have the greatest signage up yet, but don't let the GPS deceive you! I was excited to try Pastry Land and was disappointed. The selection was slim and there were flies in the display glass. The staff was impatient and pushy in the two minutes it took to review their small selection when we were the only ones in the store. Their card reader also malfunctioned (once) while I was attempting to pay, which clearly upset and frustrated the staff, and he removed my own card from my hand without explanation. The pastries (Opera cake, lemon cake) had a stale, stodgy, and wet texture and did not taste good. I will not be returning. read more

Perhaps I ordered the wrong stuff and maybe this is a Moroccan shop so I should have ordered something like baklava. Appearance wise the croissants look great, BUT if you order the almond or chocolate there is very little filling. It's also very airy. The almond cookies are dry AF. Don't get them. The women was extremely pleasant and understanding when I asked a hundred questions. Had the egg, cheese,spinach on flatbread split in half for two of us. It was really good. Went at 9 am on a Monday for the first time. The 2 staff at the counter were friendly greeting us casually when we came through the door. I had the "almond creamy" croissant and my wife had the pineapple tart with a cappuccino. Both pastries and the espresso drink were great. We sat at an outdoor table on a shaded porch/portico. They have ample indoor seating, too, and folks were hanging out talking over coffees. They had a nice selection of European style croissants and cakes. They have sandwiches on their lunch menu, too.
