If there's one thing about Burtons Grill & Bar...they NEVER miss. From the moment we walked in, everything was on point. We came with a large group, and let's be honest, that can go left real quick at most places...not here. The service was seamless, attentive, and genuinely warm from start to finish. No one was forgotten, no order was mixed up, no delays...just top tier customer service across the board. Now let's talk about the food...because wow. The bread basket came out fresh and warm (dangerously good), and set the tone immediately. I had the stuffed fish, and it was cooked to perfection--flavorful, well seasoned, and not heavy at all. Paired it with a fresh salad tossed in a mustard vinaigrette that was light, tangy, and just right. And the mocktails? So good. Crafted beautifully, refreshing, and not an afterthought like some places make them feel. What I love most is the consistency. Whether it's date night, a casual dinner, or a big group outing, Burtons shows up every single time. Great food, amazing service, and an experience that just feels easy. 10/10...every time. read more

My first time and Burtons and I'm already planning my next trip back! Our waiter AJ was one of the most attentive waiters I've had in a long time. He was attentive, friendly, quick, and efficient. He deserves a raise! I got the steak frites with truffle fries and the portions were big and the food was tasty. The Buffalo chicken dip has a nice flavor and came out hot. I also got the Caesar salad and it was refreshing and crispy. The restaurant is beautiful. Perfect for a date night or quick spot to eat. It had a modern upscale theme. read more

Burton's is a great place to have dinner. They have great fish tacos along with really good burgers. The place is always busy. And it is always filled. A great place for lunch and dinner. Really good food read more

Amazing!!! I STAN!! The atmosphere, the service and the food. 10/10. I really have zero complaints! Ordered an espresso martini and it was sooo smooth!! I will be back JUST for those and the food is a HIT. Very flavorful and I love the menu options and their choice of pairs. Pricing is very reasonable and fitting for the dishes provided. We booked the reservations literally 20 mins before they opened and they had plenty of availability for it being a holiday. We went around 12pm and there was no wait time. Definitely will be back!!! read more

Decided to stop by Burtons for a quick lunch with my kiddo. We kept it pretty simple with her having the kids meal (pasta and butter) and for myself a burger. Although our meals were pretty simple, they were good. My burger was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was also very kind and patient with my very talkative picky eater... I will definitely return read more

I have had the opportunity to visit this place for a few occasions and every time it has been wonderful. The food, service, and atmosphere is great. Each time I have had great servers and I always take food to go home, the portions are great and so many options. I definitely recommend to visit whether for a birthday or a casual evening out for dinner. read more

Widely buried menu, nice space, good service on a very busy night and overall a very pleasant evening. Splitting a bill with toast was an absolute disaster, causing ridiculous amount of confusion and the waitress having to void out all our payments and do it old school splitting equally among our four credit cards. This should never happen. read more

AHI TUNA BOWL - $28 This was one of the most disappointing dishes I've had in a long time. The "togarashi-crusted" tuna was not crusted at all--completely bland, with no seasoning or flavor. It tasted like it had been frozen, thawed, and simply dropped into the bowl. The rest of the ingredients were just as underwhelming. Everything was placed in separate, unappealing mounds around the bowl: a pile of tasteless sushi rice with a few sesame seeds, hard and underripe avocados chunks, unseasoned raw shredded carrots, smashed vinegar cucumbers with no trace of cilantro and beside that were the overpowering pickled red onions. To make matters worse, it all sat awkwardly on top of a mayonnaise ginger-soy aioli that did nothing to bring the dish together. There was no balance, no cohesion, and absolutely no flavor. It looked unappetizing and tasted even worse. I barely touched it. The server never asked why, and even if she had, I was with coworkers and wouldn't have felt comfortable saying how bad it was. For $28, this was unacceptable. Honestly, it felt like something a child threw together--bland, poorly executed, and completely lacking care. Would not order again. read more

Overrated at best! The atmosphere was more enjoyable than the food. There needs to be more vegetarian options.

I've truly been attempting to like Burtons but it continues to fail me. We ordered two burgers one rare and one medium rare both arrived well done. Our server was nowhere to be found. We waited but nothing. We were both starving so we ate them. I will say the french fry's were perfect. I'm not sure what's wrong here but our previous two meals were less than average. read more

Went to Burtons Grill for dinner last night 5/1/2025 Haven't been in a long time so we figured to try again. We had reservations and were quickly seated. The menu was limited and not very exciting and seemed a bit dated. The server was very pleasant and attentive took our order of cheese steak spring rolls and they came out almost too fast so they were either sitting or reheated they were ok just average nothing special. Our entrees came out 15 minutes later I got the Salmon and while it was good it again was nothing special. My wife got the shrimp and lobster pasta it just wasn't that good and was supposed to be in a tomato cream sauce but seemed more like a tomato sauce. Overall the experience was pricey and average at best read more

This has always been a go to place for me and my husband but the last two visits were only mediocre. I often order the fish sandwich but this time the bun was thin and crumbly - like a cheap hamburger bun. It made the sandwich hard to eat and not as tasty. My husband got the chicken piccata and two of the three pieces were tough. Last time he got the chicken with risotto and the chicken was tough then too. It seems like since the interior was refreshed, the food quality hasn't been as good - not horrible, but meh, when it was always so good. Is it still owned by the same people? read more

My partner and I got a sunsplash sangria, chicken Milanese, Maxx burger w Parmesan truffle fries, and seasonal cheesecake (pineapple coconut) - TASTE: 4/5 - the chicken Milanese was tasty w a generous sauce of spinach, cheddar, and tomato relish. The Maxx burger tasted classic, and we always enjoy Parmesan truffle fries. But the star of the show was definitely the pineapple coconut cheesecake. It truly blew us away w its strong, sweet fruity flavors lol TEXTURE: 5/5 - the Pinot Grigio in the sangria was bubbly and refreshing! The panko crust of the chicken Milanese was a nice contrast to its cheesy sauce and side of smashed (vs mashed) potatoes. Again, the cheesecake was heavenly w its light and airy texture, whipped topping, chewy crust, and bites of pineapple PRICE: 4/5 - was pleasantly surprised when we asked how much extra it would be to upgrade the burger's side of fries to Parmesan truffle fries: only 95 cents! Total came to $89 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - w a drink and dessert (that was larger than expected), we left very satisfied SERVICE: 4/5 - literally every time we've walked by Burtons, it's packed! That added to our intrigue to finally try it out lol. Made a last-minute reservation for 5:15pm on a Monday. The space wasn't filled when we arrived, but was bustling by the time we left. Our waitress, who was being trained, was helpful and friendly. Appreciate that there's a gluten-free menu available ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 - modern, open, and sleek space w lots of contemporary art on the walls PARKING: 5/5 - plenty of parking in the Derby Street Shops plaza read more

Two recent experiences: One was a birthday, one person needed their food cooked plainly due to allergy. It was very tough to get this through to the waitress about the exact specifics. Waitress came back to check on drinks during the wait for food and the person with allergies checked again they understood what they meant. The waitress had it in completely wrong, and thankfully, the patron checked on it. Everyone had raved about this as the best restaurant locally that really was on the mark with allergies. This was that person's first time out since they had had an anaphylactic reaction and they were so nervous and this just made them extremely unsettled to know that they didn't get it right at first. Second one was during the renovation. One of our party had the most disgusting Caesar salad with tips. Gooey dressing, extremely over dressed salad . Asked for medium steak tips and the 4 super tiny pieces of steak were grey. By the time the waitress came back to check, everyone else was done. That person got extremely sick about an hour later from the less than half of the salad they had picked at. We used to love Burtons and patronize it frequently, but after these past two experiences, it's a pass. read more

Highly recommend scoping out the bar area for a high top if you have not made a reservation, bar area is first come first serve and we've been lucky that way. The restaurant is large and dimly lit but not too much that you can't see the menu in front of you. Servers are pleasant and efficient. Food is very good, and i enjoyed a "mocktail" this time while the rest of my family did have actual drinks and we all enjoyed our time. Celebrities do frequent this spot! And i can see why, it's a solid place to be. read more

The food is excellent here. This is a solid choice for a steakhouse on the South Shore. I had the 28-day aged ribeye and it was delicious. I topped it with lobster. I met four friends here for my last supper before my bariatric surgery. We had plenty of drinks and shared a dessert too. I think it only cost $100 per person which isn't bad. Our waiter was good, but I think he had a lot on his plate. Service was a little in slow side. But I've been here before and this is apparently normal. The restaurant does get very busy on the weekends. You may want to consider a reservation. read more

Oh Burtons...what the heck happened? Hard to say I will be back after last night's experience. Wanted some good food so hit Burtons after a long day. And the food? Was good. The atmosphere? Cozy! The service though - left a LOT to be desired. It started with the hostess. We walked in and at the same time two other couples came in right behind us. The hostess asks how she can help us (without looking up from her iPad) and we tell her two for dinner. She immediately looks panicked/annoyed and barks at one of the other four front of house folks to help us and then yells out into the ether, "CAN I HELP WHOEVER IS NEXT?!" Another girl takes our name and tells us it's going to be about thirty minutes. We walk next door to the book store to kill some time, and before we know it almost an hour has passed. We get a text that our table is almost ready, and less than two minutes later (as we are walking in the door to the restaurant) we get a text asking if we were still "interred" in the table. Yes, we were still interested. We are sat and order. The apps were good - got buffalo chicken and paid extra for the bread service. The cocktails were not good - got the "Summertime Spritz" which is supposed to have elderflower but tasted like flat Prosecco and a splash of white cranberry. The service was inattentive and rushed. Our server was frequently off talking to one of her other tables, who she clearly knew personally. At one point, one of our servers friends got up and was standing behind our table chatting with her. They were cursing about something the kitchen did, and she said "I'll text them, that isn't fucking right." Another server came and dropped our food. She asked if I'd like anything else, to which I said "I'd like to order another cocktail please." She told me she would send our server over. When our server finally came over to frantically refresh our waters, I went to order a different cocktail (first one sucked). She seemed irritated and said it takes time for the bar staff to make the cocktail, and that the other server placed an order for the same one I had had before. Obviously, I know this. But you didn't take my order. When pouring the water, she refilled my husbands empty soda glass even though he had a full glass of water in front of him. Not once were we checked in with during the meal. The service was sloppy and inattentive, which is not what I'm looking for at a place where you're paying $50 for a steak. South shore is up and coming for some restaurants, I'll probably go elsewhere next time. read more

The Desert Flower is such a good drink! Tequila and mezcal but I didn't even taste the mezcal (I'm usually not a huge fan). The Buffalo Chicken Dip is really good, if not as cheesy as the one I had in Lynnfield years ago. The Spinach Artichoke Dip was also good but not as good as the buff chick. The Ribeye was very good, and the Maxx Burger was good as well. Definitely get the Parmesan Truffle Fries instead of the regular if you can. The GF Mac & Cheese side is way better than I would have expected for either gluten-free pasta or restaurant mac and cheese. Service was great. Love Burton's because they cater to gluten-free eaters, asking everyone if they need a GF menu and having a mostly gluten free menu even when you don't specifically order gluten-free. read more

Great food, great atmosphere, new esthetics, wonderful attentive, friendly, and helpful waitress, Anne H. You won't regret it!!

Burton's is becoming my go to lunch venue. The burger and fries are great. Fries are cooked In their own fryer so helpful for my food allergies. Allergy orders get specific geometry plates to identity the risk too. I feel very safe ordering here. This week my wife ordered the Classic Burger, but also ordered a Bread Service as an upcharge. Asked the kitchen to put said burger on said bread. The results were magnificent. I got the burger as is on the menu with fries, and it was all perfect. I also typically get the Caesar salad, which I find a little lemony. Front of house very accommodating. Lunch is busy so I suggest a reservation or early add to the waitlist. This week they accommodated our service dog in training. Service is always spot on. Great stuff all around. read more

My wife and I usually sit in the same location close to the kitchen and luckily we always get the same server. This time we switch it up my wife got the burger and truffle fries and I got the grilled chicken with ham avocado with a cream sauce . Had to give four this time , one of my pet peeves is cleanliness and service now the service was excellent and the food BUT I had to wash my hands and when I went into the men's room I thought I was going to vomit it reeked of ursine and a fouls smell . Next time we go I'm going to check the bathroom out and if it's like that again I'm out for hood. read more
