Finally, after many visits to Ma Reilly's for coffee, pastries, and lunch, I realized it was time to write a review! Of course, the "famous" brioche cinnamon rolls were sold out on this visit, but we tried the homemade coffee cake instead--and wow! It was so much better than the boxed varieties that seem to be everywhere. I'm guessing it must be a family recipe because it was delicious. I love the casual coffee shop vibe and the seasonal decorations, but one of the things I especially appreciate is the collection of first responder patches. I love seeing the local police and fire patches, but I especially enjoy looking to see how far away first responders have traveled to enjoy Ma Reilly's delicious Irish scones, cinnamon rolls, coffee, and other treats. There are always several flavored hot and iced coffees, along with plenty of other beverage choices, so there's something for everyone. I'll get there earlier next time--because I'm determined to get one of those warm brioche cinnamon rolls! read more

Oh I live for spots like this! A small, family-owned business where everything is fresh and homemade. The vibe is so warm and welcoming when you walk in. They are always supporting the community and donating $$ to local causes/charities. It's hard not to love and support a business like this. I usually order a breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg & cheese) on an onion bagel or I get the onion bagel with one of their homemade spreads, like the bacon scallion cream cheese. I really like their coffee too. They have a lot of flavors to choose from and I love all of the ones I've tried so far. They also serve lunch which I'm looking forward to trying next! Great little award-winning cafe in South Weymouth with very personable staff. They have many breakfast and lunch sandwiches and a nice seating area in which to eat them. They're probably best known for their Irish soda bread, available all year long, not just St. Patrick's Day. This morning I tried a Finnish pastry that's sort of like a cinnamon roll without the cinnamon. It had a slight lemon nuance, and the dough was soft and light. I liked it because it was sweet, but not cloyingly so. The server recommended heating it in the microwave for 15/20 seconds, then cutting the pastry in half. It's quite nice inside. I have no idea what Irish Peas are, but u can buy cans of them, and you can buy a number of Irish goods from Ireland here. You can find a variety of baked goods, delicatessens, and many kinds of drinks. The decor is very nice, and it feels generally welcoming and comfortable. There's also several sanitary accommodations like sneeze shields, hand sanitizer, n other precautions if u look around to take notice. This place is actually a vintage location, n has roots in the culture of the 1800s, but has kept up with the times. Aside from a very Irish & New England vibe, it has a lot of Italian style Flavors & dishes, but very mid 20th Century American style that would typically appeal to Baby Boomers. read more

Would you look at this place?! No Lays or Cokes or Wonder Bread, instead favoring classic snacks from the UK. And cans of beans, because obviously. But I only had eyes for the baked goods. A bit picked over at 11am, there were still a bundle of raspberry hand pies and hecklers, a treat billed as "a cinnamon roll meets a croissant." Flaky and cinnamony under an opaque glaze? Gotta get one for the wife. Iced coffees aren't cold brewed, but they're made with New England Coffee and their myriad of flavors, rotating daily. The lovely gal behind the counter held my naive hand through what was available, how much milk I wanted, what sweeteners they had (yay for stevia!) and finally gauging the drink's color, which hit me as being extra attentive. Had I overmilked, she would have started over. Wish I could say they same about my exes... heyo! End result: a great iced, and fairly tasty pastries. Hand pie won - wait for it - hands down, with a copiously abundant raspberry jam, floral and not overly sweet, made perfect with a light toasting. The heckler, though, just didn't do it for us. It looked like a roll, but the cinnamon was a non-factor and the glaze was only okay. So, imagine a coffee roll with the texture of an oil croissant. Maybe it was a flakey fluke, who knows? Still, a great stop for coffee if you're cruising by. Sweet staff, too. read more

I come here often to grab breakfast sandwiches (which are the best around) or lunch at least once a week. Everything is always awesome and the staff is super helpful and always friendly. Had a little get together on Saturday and needed some sandwiches so we decided to get the Roll Up tray. There were so many different options for people and all of them were delicious! Tourist in town. Googled for a place for breakfast and found Ma Reilly's. I walked into a homey feel. The staff greeted me with smiles and was very patient with my questions. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, irish sausage, and egg on an onion bagel. Bagel was toasted perfectly, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The sausages were not salty and paired well with the egg. It was very filling. I also got some scones and a crumble cake to go. I'm glad I found this place. read more

I love the variety of baked goodies and sandwiches they offer. The staff is always so cheerful. They are very helpful in explaining the different flavors offered that day, as they do change based on what Linda wants to make that day. You can also purchase packaged items, many that come directly from Ireland. There's even a small seating area where you can sit and sip your drink before heading out for the day. I recently went here to grab breakfast and ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on a sesame bagel and a grilled blueberry muffin. For a drink, I got an iced tea. The breakfast sandwich and iced tea was good but what really surprised me was the grilled blueberry muffin. The blueberry muffin was full of plump blueberries and moist. I also got a lovely pistachio muffin for my honey. I also got 2 other scones for myself and 2 lemon squares. Such a great variety of goodies. When i went to pay they told me it was free cause i am a health care first responder. I was so moved by this it made me cry. It was so nice. After moving to the area about 6 years ago, we started going here a couple times a week for coffee and a breakfast sandwich after checking out some other subpar places nearby. This place was our go to and we made sure everyone knew about it so they could get awesome sandwiches, breakfast, and coffee. I couldn't say enough about how much we loved this place over the years. Unfortunately, as their business has grown so much and gotten so much busier, quality has seriously declined. My few most recent visits left me quite disappointed. Egg and cheese sandwiches served cold, not even warm on the inside... how? Orders consistently incorrect, or just simply not made, so I have to say something to remind them. Then I get questions from the cashier asking about whether or not I'm sure I didn't get the order yet. This has happened twice. Edit 6 months later: Started going back, and have enjoyed the super fresh pastries and coffee. Haven't gone for a sandwich, as they were somewhat disappointing for a while, but this is an awesome spot for a quick bagel or muffin and great, lightly flavored coffee. This is a great little sandwich and coffee shop. The owner, most days, in right in the shop, she knows her regulars, she is very friendly and creates a warm inviting atmosphere. They serve nice hand made sandwiches, many options from cold cut meats to straight veggie only options. This place is fun to bring kids, it is right near the commuter rail trail tracks, so if your kid likes trains, sit and eat, usually a train will pass within the hour. To top it all off, the owner is from Ireland, she keeps a nice stock of Irish candy for sale, it is very good! read more

They have an abundance of different sandwiches plus specials that are usually different every time I go in. My favorite special is the Big Apple on a spinach wrap! They also have a great selection of baked goods that are freshly baked every day. This includes scones, coffee rolls, cinnamon rolls, muffins, assorted fruit and more! The staff is super friendly, and always makes my latte perfectly, no matter who it is, and if it is not correct they will remake it! Along with the great staff, the owner Linda, is awesome! She knows everyone that comes in and greets me every time she sees me even if she is busy! Try the Heat Miser, and the Big Apple when they have it as specials!
