Terrible food. Had to force myself to eat it because it was so expensive. So gross. Don't go here. I had the caeser salad and Spaghettioni alle Vongole. The clams were seriously overcooked and not even edible. The sauce was disgusting. My bf got the caeser salad and Chicken Parmigiano. We both didn't like our dishes. So overpriced for such low quality of food. I still feel sick. read more

Linnea is an amazing server and made my experience over the top. From her menu knowledge and attention to detail, to her warm personality and great service, you have gained my families business. read more

I dined here in the summer and it was outstanding! We returned today and ordered 1 appetizer and 2 meals. Everything was salty. I'm not sure what happened in the last 3 months, but it is not the same food that we had 3 months ago. Big disappointment. We won't return. read more

Went for lunch and had great service. Waiter was extra helpful for our party with two children. The restaurant seemed reluctant to give us a large booth even though the place was pretty empty but eventually did. Food was good.. burrata ravioli was something I had never heard of but was delicious. The fries were good too. I took away a star because the portions were very small. There were only four smaller raviolis so I was left hungry afterwards. For the price I would recommend increasing the portions Update went for dinner and had the gnocchi which was a VERY generous portion and delicious. read more

We waited over an hour and half for our food to arrive. Well, not sure you can actually call what we received 'food'. What should've been Chicken Parmesan was more like dry burnt chicken with a fine layer of scabby mozzarella spackled on top. This was paired with a side of cold rigatoni that apparently didn't spend enough time in the microwave they have back there. Save your money and avoid this place. read more

Great for a splurge! We've been meaning to try this, so we went a couple of months after it opened. Any kinks they may have had were worked out. I thought the service was attentive. The food we ordered was excellent. We ordered the calamarie rhode island style with banana peppers-not marinara! It was perfect. Hubby ordered the pork chop that came with different colored veggies and a potato patty that tasted like it had a hint of blue cheese in it. I ordered the duck confiet. It was decadent. If I had to pick a last meal, this would be it. They also gave us soft bread with a yummy tomato and eggplant spread. Portions are generous, I think it's definitely worth the money. Quality is on par with the North End, plus you dont have to pay for parking. There really aren't any high quality italian restaurants in the area. This fills a need and im excited to see it do well!! read more

My friend & I had the 3 course prefix lunch for $20 and found it an excellent value. I had the bolognese and the gnocchi with chicken and both were delicious. The salads were great too. It's a stylish and elegant dining room so I look forward to a return visit. read more

Love the ambience. Food was good. Service was better. Colleen (who normally waits at the Dedham Location) was very personable. Very genuine and funny. She respected our slow paced timeline. Will definitely go to the Dedham location just for her. read more

Getting family together from all over in a new area can be a bit stressful. I picked Il Massimo for a celebratory lunch and while the reviews I read after gave me pause..... I was so glad to have stuck with it. The lunch and service were amazing!! The whole table raved about the sangria and my favorite was the calamari. I had lobster ravioli for my meal which was filling for lunch and the rest of the party had a great eclectic mix of meals. All looked delicious. The service was attentive and pricing was reasonable. I would recommend others to enjoy a meal there..... I'm looking forward to trying them again read more

The worst service. I asked for a certain pasta and it came out wrong, my whole family ate their meal and mine still wasn't out. I asked and they said 2 minutes. Mind you I had to find the waitress. She was laughing and folding silverware with others. I asked if she could just remove the meal from my bill and she just looked at me, so then I said please remove the drink you didn't bring for my son too, she still looked at me. I sat down. Never came over to see how everything else was, never offered anything else either. Had to get up again and ask for my check!!!! Like it was a joke!!! I would never go there again. read more

It was my 1st time coming and I was pleasantly surprised. The bartender Leslie was fantastic! She made amazing drinks and it feels like you're talking to your bestie at the bar. The food was good but I gave 4 stars cause the bread was cold and hard and the eggplant had the skin left on which made it difficult to chew. Otherwise I'm a fan and will definitely be back! read more

My husband and I went to Mossimo Saturday night. We sat in a back room and at first we were very disappointed. Instead, other than the manager speaking to every guest in the room except for us, our server Casey was a fabulous server and made our date night a great night! She was attentive and always kept us informed about where our food was (we waited over an hour between our salad and pork Parms which were equivalent to Olive Garden) ), always right there when we needed a drink, more bread..ANYTHING and was such a breath of fresh air. She was kind and considerate and always made us feel like we were the most important people in the restaurant (which went very far considering we weren't good enough for the manager). Because of Casey, we will try it one more time and will definitively call ahead to make sure she is there. read more

My boyfriend and I made a reservation on OpenTable and selected the option that the occasion was for our anniversary. When we arrived they had decorated the table with flower petals, had extra candles and an anniversary card for us. The staff were all SO nice and every person that approached our table wished us a happy anniversary. Not to mention the food was outstanding!! To top it all off they brought us two shots of limoncello on the house for dessert. It was such a nice surprise and made the evening even more special. Will definitely be back!! read more

Large group of 15 people arrived at 12:30 to a reservation. Bread was slow to come and there were two small children who like the rest of us had to wait the 1 1/2 hour to receive our main meal. Ordered a breakfast item: Crab Benedict - warm but not hot with hardened hollindase. French toast next to me was Cold. Don't think I'll ever go back. read more

From the first visit, to the last--I have always had an outstanding experience. The waiters are amicable and easy to speak too--if something needs special attention, they're open and willing to please. My fiancé and I are commuters, and they have no dress code and are welcoming to all. Best of all, they are very friendly to dietary restrictions. Their options are flooring--their Braciola di Maiale and Filetto di Manzo are some of my go-tos, and gnocchi is to die for. My fiancé doesn't have as many restrictions, and from the Carbonara to their bolognese and ravioli--he has has never been disappointed. While most reviews I've seen on yelp show more-so attentions to a new opening, (and one who didn't know authentic Caesar Salad is supposed to come with anchovies) this place has reached its happy plateau--speaking as someone who's been there from open to now, it is someplace I fervently suggest you take a peek at yourself. read more

Very attentive staff. Excellent rice meatball option in 3 course meal of the appetizer selections. Great wine selection. Unfortunately, very bland Scampi and Seabass entrees. Basic bread and olive oil they give every table had overkill of balsamic vinegar. read more

Deeelicious!! We started off with specialty drinks and the homemade eggplant spread with bread. We ordered the mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer dish! Wow! Sooo good! My sister had the mozzarella ravioli and I had the sea bass. Both were so delicious! Braedon, our waiter, was AWESOME! We ended up having gelato and a cappuccino martini and they were a great way to end our meal! We will definitely go back. I would suggest making reservations if your party is larger than 2. We did not have reservations and were able to sit in bar area that offered the full menu. read more

Today my wife and I celebrated our 45th anniversary lunch at Legacy Place location. We had the restaurant to ourselves and enjoyed a delicious 3 course lunch special and non-alcholic "Mocktails". She had the Cucumber Mojito Mocktail and I had the Strawberry Lemonade...delicious! She enjoyed the Burrata Ravioli and I had the Shrimp Risotto, both of us had the Insalata di Spinaci and to top it off, we had to take home our deserts, tiramisu and cannoli. The service by our waitress Dorothy made the occasion even more memorable in that she decorated our table with the right touch for a romantic lunch. Great service! Delicious meals and GREAT PRICE. I mean GREAT PRICE FOR TWO DELICIOUS MEALS. We have been out to eat twice in the past three weeks before this afternoon because of COVID-19. Today was worth it in a safe environment with an attentive staff. Rare. that I give a restaurant five stars, but on this special occasion, Il Massimo Legacy Place earned it and deserves it. Thank you for making #45 so memorable. read more

Il Massimo - 45 Years of love and marriage. We are truly Blessed! Thank you Il Massimo for making it memorable. - Italian Near Me - Dedham, Massachusetts

Food, drinks, and service were all top notch. Our waitress was fantastic. Would come back again.

Always great customer service. Drinks and food are excellent! The atmosphere or vibe is smooth, also.

Lovely menu and decor. Fig, Arugula and Gorgonzola pizza was outstanding. Meatballs the size of your head. Orchiette pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe pesto. Excellent cocktails and wine list. Our server, Bronson, was attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging. We will return! read more

Very good time, everything tasted fresh. Wish they had more to the menu but I did come on thanksgiving and I think they had a special menu.

Once again it was an amazing night. Took my Italian parents, wife and son to enjoy a belated birthday and early Mother's Day and the food was awesome! Spaghetti arrabbiata, gnocchi, pulpo, cozze, oysters and insalata. Food amazing, service awesome and overall just great experience. Thank you for helping us celebrate.....Amazing Italian food, vi ringraziamo molto!!!!! read more

Great vibe, the cocktails, bar and waitstaff are superb! I would prefer more northern Italian dishes and more vegan, fish and more bianco sauces for the entrees and less red sauces. The grilled octopus serving was skimpy on the octopus 2 small slivers with a ton of red sauce. I would have preferred that it was more simply prepared with a lemon garlic and parsley sauce. The red sauce with cannoli beans was overpowering and it was prepared with hidden pancetta. I do not eat meat so that took me by surprise. The wait staff immediately took the item off my check and apologized. The menu is heavy on meat and pork and red sauce preparations for the pasta. My entree was frutti di mare, again with red sauce, it overpowered the delicate shellfish and was too salty, and really did not let the flavors of the shellfish come through. The bread pudding dessert was amazing. Management should review and revamp this tired old school red sauce and meat ladened menu. read more

Went here for late lunch. Sat at bar. Bartender not very attentive, had to ask repeatedly for service and service items. Bartender didn't offer appetizer specials or dinner menu specials. Bartender lacked that friendly Italian humanity that you experience in some truly Italian restaurants or of course in Italy. Management should be paying more attention. Why four stars, nice place, nice bar, nice menu, very good food, priced on the higher end of moderate( fits with other restaurants in area). Would I go back? Probably, and pray that I get a really caring bartender that truly wants to please customers and thereby everyone is happy, customer gets "very good service" and bartender earns BIGGER TIPS (don't servers and bartenders understand this???). read more

Where do I start!? Of you're looking for delicious authentic Italian this is your place. I ordered the Scallops, my son had the Chicken Parm, our server Rebecca was so personable and attentive without being hovering. You can tell she really loves her job which is a reflection on the ownership and management. We even had one of the managers deliver our food her name was Laura and she made sure to check in on us before we left to go shop. Oh and with orangcellos! I can't wait to spread the word. Now I need to try the other two restaurants. Kudos IL Massimo thank you for brightening up dull Legacy Place read more

I walked in on a Friday night without a reservation for a table of 2 and was seated within 2-3 minutes. The maitre'd and manager were both professional. Our meals were good. Came out timely, with attention to detail. Our waitress was Katherine who was very personable, had a great memory because she took our multi course order without writing anything down and got it correct. Checked in on our table the correct amount - being attentive without being invasive and really added to our time here. 4/5 stars because the food was good not amazing but happy it wasn't too loud and did the trick. We left full and happy! Thank you Katherine! read more

Food was 3.5/5 , I would eat there again, but the service is unbearable. Very very slow. Waited 45 minutes for food. Two other tables that came after us got their food first. Saw the waitress 1 time when we ordered. 1 time when food came out. Had to hate to get a box and bill. Got tired of waiting Because we never saw the waitress again and asked girl bringing out food to find our waitress to get the bill. Plates piled up on the table. If they cannot handle the capacity of customers they shouldn't have so many tables open. read more

Pretty decent fuzzy pear margarita, service is not so great wait time from sit to drink was like 30 min that's a no no, at least gimme my drink then I'll wait, possibly more waitresses are needed, 1hr later literally sat down at 7:31p and got food at 8:36 the filet mignonette was cooked great, the black risotto was different can't say if I like it or not but it was decent the short rib gnocchi was ok nothing to tell mom about, the wait was too long the drinks are great, the bill was ok not too much Came here on the recommendation of the phantom gourmet who is usually spot on but this time fell really short read more

I have been to Il Massimo a few times and every time it has been wonderful. However, it was only on my most recent visit that I found out just how accommodating they are to people with specific dietary preferences. I am a strict vegetarian, and try to eat vegan as often as I can. Generally, I try to find something (anything) vegan on the menu and just go with that. But this visit, my aunt happened to ask if they had a vegan/vegetarian menu (since they have a gluten free menu), and we found out that they're currently working on one! Our waitress, Rebecca, brought over the manager, Joanna, who was able to rattle off about five vegan dishes that weren't on the menu but could be made to order. I ended up going with a vegan "bolognese" which was FANTASTIC! Thank you Rebecca and Joanna and the chefs at Il Massimo for being so accommodating to vegans and vegetarians! I'm greatly looking forward to the soon-to-be-released vegan friendly menu! read more

This restaurant is such a wonderful addition to Legacy Place! Staff is always so pleasant and hospitable, especially the Managers Sarah and CJ. They are constantly making their rounds around the restaurant to ensure guests are being properly taken care of and enjoying their time. The food is always consistent, hot, and delicious. The duck confit with walnut cream sauce is my favorite dish on the menu, it is to DIE FOR! Also if you're looking for a more intimate experience ask to be seated by the fireplace in their PDR! read more

We ate there for lunch yesterday, and I have to mention the sauce from the eggplant parmigiana. It was outstanding! It was memorable, and I can still taste it in my mouth. My compliments to the chef, he/she did an outstanding job. Would love to buy a quart of that sauce! Thank you! read more

We just love the food and atmosphere here. Never had a bad meal and staff is very friendly.

It's a beautiful space with the worst Italian food I've ever had. We've been to il Massimo in Providence and liked it so we were expecting wonderful things from Dedham. Instead the food was downright terrible. Exceptions were the bread plate, the eggplant appetizer, and the meatball. Everything else ordered by our table of four was not good, but the worst offender was the mushy fusilli. Maybe that's just because it's what I ordered, though, as my husband would like to nominate his dish too. read more

We went for New Years/Birthday and we're pretty disappointed. First, we made a reservation and got seated 20 minutes after we arrived. We sat at a table further back in the restaurant, but every time the door opened we felt the cold and had the urge to put our coats on. Our service was slow and disorganized. When we ordered our drink that was recommended by our waitress (moscato), she came back and said they didn't have any left. Then, she recommended the special to us, a buffalo mozzarella, that tasted like a cheese stick. It seemed like she was trying to sell it to us to make more money and we heard her saying the same thing to every other table. The slab of cheese ended up being $19. She never gave us our silverware and napkins, we had to ask her for them. Next, she brought us the wrong gnocchi dish and seemed overall confused by the menu. After waiting another 30 minutes, the new gnocchi dish came over and at that point we had been there for an hour and a half and were no longer hungry. The portion for the $24 gnocchi had about 5 pieces. We understand they were short of staff, but it was not worth the wait. We do not recommend if you have an event to go to after or if you want good food and service. The pizzette with fig was good though. We never leave bad reviews but we had to for this place. Cheers. read more
