Had a pleasant time during our dinner here with friends. Choose to sit upstairs at their terrace or outside if the weather is nice because the ground floor is loud. Food was good. Not the biggest fan of neopolitan pizza as I prefer other styles with a more developed crust and undercarriage. But I still enjoyed what we had. I enjoyed the arancini and lasagna as well. Not so much the bread as to me it was too crusty and hard. Servers were nice and accomodating, no complaints. I'd go again if I was in the area and try out their other items. Recommended!

Came for pizza and a couple of starters. Pizza: Good pie. The crust was the best part -- proper char, good chew, and held up well. Toppings were solid; nothing revolutionary but enjoyable. Lasagna: Tasted good (nice browned top, proper sauce), but the portion was pretty small for what it costs. Felt more like a side than a full entrée. Mozzarella balls: These were a win. Crispy outside, melty inside, and the marinara was good. Would order again.

Saw this place highly recommended on Reddit so we decided to stop for dinner while in Georgetown. There were a good number of people in the afternoon around 5:15 PM so we decided to sit outside since the weather was pretty nice. We got our food pretty quickly and the servers were super attentive. Service was a 10/10. We ordered the Vegetable Rossa pizza, margherita pizza, and the seafood pasta (don't remember the exact name). The pizzas were absolutely delicious. The crust was light, airy, crispy, and chewy so I highly recommend the pizzas. It didn't feel super heavy so I was able to finish the whole pie but it can definitely be shared amongst two people. Now onto the pasta...my friend really enjoyed it for the next few hours after we finished eating but he unfortunately got food poisoning from the dish. Not sure if the seafood was bad or if it just didn't sit well in his stomach but he did say it was delicious haha. I would recommend il Canale but just beware of the seafood pasta. We've been coming to il Canale for over a decade, and the food is always excellent! Service is top-notch, Kaitlin took care of us with utmost pleasure. Anytime friends or family come to DC, we always recommend il Canale for dinner.

Tried this place for happy hour, let's just say it did not disappoint. I had Monroy as my bartender. He made a mean limoncello spritz (Il Canale Spritz) and was very polite. For a snack I had the mini calamari zucchini fritti, very tasty. Never thought about having zucchini fries but they were delicious. I will definitely be back! Everything is reasonably priced and I would love to check out the vibe for dinner.

I stopped in for a Restaurant Week lunch and had a nice meal! I thought $25 for a small app, full pizza and dessert was a great deal. I sat on the front patio which was lovely, lots of shaded options available. Service was prompt and I had multiple servers stop by for water or to see if I needed anything else. I had the arancini for my app, Georgetown pizza (white base), and panna cotta which was delicious and light. The pizza was solid, I would definitely try a red next time but nice crust and good portion.

It was a bit loud when coming in but I'm glad they sat us upstairs where it was quieter and there was some sun coming from the windows. We picked this place since it seemed like a cute place in Georgetown to grab good Italian food and it was a great choice! I got the vegetarian Rossa Neapolitan style pizza and it was delicious. The sauce & ingredients were very fresh. I would go here again! The prices seemed similar to other places in the area and we parked in a garage across from the restaurant

Pretty decent Italian food in the Georgetown area. The Margherita Pizza was what was to be expected from a restaurant like this, but I was bummed by the sparse basil on top. My friend got the Caprese Salad as a main since she wasn't that hungry and enjoyed it. Service was a mixed bag. The hostess seemed to be having a bad day, but our server was very kind and helpful throughout our experience. Came for lunch on a Saturday and made a reservation, but don't think there's a need for anyone to do so since there was a lot of empty seating.

We had an amazing experience today! The staff was incredibly gracious and accommodating to our party of 6 arriving at different times. Even though we checked in early and planned to wait outside, they warmly welcomed us in and seated us right away. The house salad and Caesar salad were both 10/10 -- fresh, crisp lettuce, delicious cherry tomatoes, and light, flavorful dressings. The fried calamari with zucchini was a bit salty and lacked crunch (7.5/10), but everything else was excellent. The Margherita pizza had wonderful flavor with aromatic basil (9/10) the calzone was huge and delicious (9/10), and the seafood pasta was outstanding (10/10). The gnocchi and spaghetti were also great. The lobster ravioli 10/10. The soup of the day was cream or zucchini and it was creamy and smooth. You can tell they are using quality flour and ingredients. To top it all off, they surprised us with a birthday cannoli that had the perfect crunchy shell and creamy filling. Even the bread and rosemary-garlic olive oil were memorable. Wonderful food, kind staff, and a great overall experience -- we would absolutely return!

I got a tratufata (?) pizza with mushrooms and truffle oil, and a cucumber mint based cocktail (HH). I think the HH prices are decent. The pizza tasted good and service was also good. It's tucked in a nice street for people watching or enjoying dining outdoors.

This place was hopping on a Saturday evening. A couple of friends and I came to carboload before our Cherry Blossom 10 miler. Limited outdoor seating, and it's a little tight inside so can be a little hard to hear. Note: even if you make a reservation, they will not seat you until your full party has arrived. With all the traffic in the area from a good day, we had people over 20 minutes late and were still now allowed to sit. Great service from a first time waitress at il Canale. Ordered the diavola pizza which was delicious and a great way to carboload. Lots of pieces of meat and good. I wish there was a bit more cheese though. I also shared a Caesar salad and shared with a fellow friend. It had good flavors, kind of big pieces of salad to bite on though.

Toto took great care of us tonight and was very helpful when it came to choosing what to order. We started with the bruschetta with mozzarella, which ended up being my favorite part of the meal--it really hit the spot and didn't disappoint. The lasagna arrived piping hot, which was a nice touch. Service was exceptional from start to finish. We also saw several other dishes come out that looked incredible, so we'll definitely be back to try more.

We had the lobster ravioli and rib eye; both were delicious. Our server Gabriele was perfect, had great timing and gave us the perfect amount of attention. Perfect place for a fancy celebration or grabbing casual drinks and pizza.

Is it still BYOB and/or a corkage fee if you do bring a bottle? If so, what are the terms and conditions? I saw a post about it from a few years ago but not sure if it changed

They always seem to have a bartender. I'm thinking corkage fee, but am not sure. Good wine list, from what I recall.

We have Fringe show tickets and only have 1 hour 15 mins to eat between. (6:15p- 7:30p on a Sunday) Is this doable or will we need more time? Thanks,

    Is the pasta house-made?

It is, i dont normally like home made pasta but this was delicious. Made with wheat from Italy! I live in New york and there's no shortage of great Italian restaurants. This place not only holds up but surpasses many. Highly recommend!

What is the parking situation for picking up food?

Same answer as Justin. There is no parking. This is Georgetown. Narrow streets, only parking is in a building, or underground lot, and more expensive than your pizza. You might find a place on the street, but highly unlikely. I would go with…

Are there non diary and no egg options? I have someone with those allergies

Yes, a limited number. Principally seafood. I presume the pasta has egg but you might call to make sure.

    Do they have vegetarian options?

Yes! We have plenty of options in addition to our salads such as a great pasta selection of our ravioli porcini and truffle, gnocchi, spaghetti pomodoro, and cannelloni and pizza selection of our tartufata, siciliana, vegetariana rossa, and the…

Is there a gluten free menu/are there gluten free options?

Hello! Yes, we offer delicious gluten free options including pasta with a variety of sauces (scoglio seafood, pomodoro, bolognese, etc) and gluten free pizza topped with all our imported ingredients. For guests with celiac disease the types of…

    Is there a cork fee?

The restaurant allows a maximum of two bottles with a $25 corkage fee per bottle or one magnum (1.5L) with a $50 corkage fee.

Do they have a private room to accommodate a birthday party of about 17?

I saw that they had a 2nd floor that would be able to accommodate a party if 17 people. My best advice would be to reach out to them.

Can I bring my small dog?

    Yes with outdoor seating only

Both visits we tried the miso caesar salad, the heirloom tomato salad, the filet mignon carpaccio, the hiramasa crudo, and the stuffed chicken. They were just too good to skip on our second visit! My husband swears dessert is why he wanted to go back -- the choux bun dessert is TO DIE FOR! The menu had changed ever so slightly on our second visit, so we tried a few dishes that weren't present before: the tarama and the sea bass. The sea bass was my favorite bite of the night! Firstly, I really have to commend the staff.  They were so attentive and thoughtful.  Our server, for example, brought an extra little light to our table when she saw we were struggling to read the menu in the low light. They were great about checking with us, keeping the water glasses filled and anticipating other needs such as a bag when we wanted to take some of our meal home.  Everyone was very kind and this added so much to our meal.  We enjoyed our progressive meal which reflecting the chef's heritage from both Italy and Brazil.  Our starting mocktails of the ploughman's surprise and the fermented peach soda were good.  The peach soda had a great amount of fizz but could have used a little more peach.  Maybe the nectar just sunk to the bottom and by the time we drank that far, the ice had diluted it.  We preferred the ploughman's surprise, which, coming with no ice (yah!) stayed flavorful to the very end.  Our app of grilled peaches and burrata was tasty but we actually preferred it eaten as its separate components rather than together where the burrata seemed to overpower the other flavors.  Special shout out to the sourdough crisp on top.  Super crunchy and delicious!  The bread was also a stand out in the panzanella.  This dish had a great kick from the jalapeno and was fresh and refreshing.  For our third dish - the bread also was really good.  This time it was garlic knots which everyone looked forward to the moment that garlic aroma arrived at our table.  The summer lasagna came with a very light and slightly sweet tomato sauce which only made us wish we had even more bread!  The main entrée was the picanha steak.  It was very well cooked and though not as hot temperature wise as we would have liked, it was really good even just warmed.  The oven roasted potatoes were just right and the chimichurri sauce was very good (anther longing for more bread - can you see a theme?...)  Dessert was a soft and custardy on the inside corn cake with  mascarpone and espresso dulce de leche.  Although I couldn't taste much of the coffee flavor, the dish was another example of Reveler's Hour comfort food wheelhouse.  The food and the service at Reveler's Hour are definitely worth coming back for.  Next time, we might try to sit towards the front where there is more light from the windows.  There is a small outdoor public lot a block away.

Then it took another 20 minutes before he came back to get our drink orders, and 1) seemed like he was having a bad day, which... fine, but 2) was rolling his eyes when some of us were a little between some options and wanted a recommendation, which... alright my guy let's chill. We weren't talking loud, we weren't drinking before and being obnoxious, we just wanted to ask about what some of the drinks were like on a very cool menu of cocktails we haven't tried anywhere else. Upon returning with our drinks, he accidentally spilled a not insignificant amount on my friend sitting across from me, and while we reacted and started handing him extra napkins, he just glanced at him, finished giving out the drinks, and walked away. No "oops", "my bad", "oh let me get you some paper towels", nothing. So at this point, we're all staring at each other like "Did we do something? Do we smell?" Whatever, friend's birthday, we've been talking about this cabin weekend for several years and it's finally happening, let's just vibe. Now another 20 minutes went by and we were getting antsy because we wanted to order our food but it looked like there wasn't a lot of staff, and we didn't want to upset anyone by hurrying them. Another man came over who we thought was going to take our orders. Nope. He starts picking up our menus so I say, "Oh, hey we haven't ordered yet." To which he replies, "OK, but I need the menus." Alright cool, yeah, that makes sense if he needed them for other tables and can leave us with a few to share. Nope. He just took them and placed them back at the host stand. Awkward stares across the table again. Whatever, we had enough, I guess. Tick tock, tick tock. A third guy came over, and when he smiled and asked, "Hi are you all ready to order?" I was like "Oh finally a human being!" Food took another 20-ish minutes while we nursed our drinks and really had no interest in ordering another round (not that anyone asked us). We ate. We chatted. We had an okay time. We were super ready to get out of there. Oh right, the mozz sticks. Le Mont'zarella sticks. They had one order left of four sticks for $18. We were one of the first diners. You can imagine after all the above, that's just a major facepalm emoji. Assessment/Plan: Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for Le Mont Royal to improve their service, now and at the hour of ASAP, because the place has so much potential, and maybe it was just an off night, or the staff just finished arguing with each other in the back so they took it out on us, but dearly beloved Lord it was like we offended nine generations of their ancestry from the moment we walked in. With "a 22% service charge has been added for your convenience," I thought we were getting Punk'd. The always-changing French-Canadian menu is a cool and unique concept, but it's a lot of bark with very little bite. It didn't make the disappointing service worth it. Dear reader, Maxwell…read morePark is exactly the sort of charming little wine bar that makes an ordinary evening feel rather more sophisticated than it had any right to be. The wine list is enormous, with plenty of options whether you know exactly what you like or prefer to experiment a bit. During our visit, they were running a back-to-school theme with clever head-to-head comparisons of similar wines. You could order half glasses of each and taste them side by side, which made the whole experience feel fun, approachable, and slightly educational without becoming terribly serious about it. There is a good amount of seating inside, plus a lovely patio with fire pits that makes lingering especially tempting. The food menu is equally flexible, ranging from simple chips for snacking to a full burger for dinner, with more indulgent options like caviar and Champagne if the evening calls for a little grandeur. Everyone was incredibly nice, and we had such a relaxed, enjoyable time. A wonderful spot for wine, conversation, and a proper little hangout.

They were on the tail end of their winter menu, and the sparkling wine that my friend was super excited about was phased out. But I just told the staff what kind of wine I was in the mood for and they chose something wonderful for me. I took pictures of the bottles, I'll track those down and post them later. I'm glad I managed to find red and white wines that I enjoyed. I also noticed that they had a crunchwrap on their menu and I had to try it. It was smaller than I thought, but the flavors going on?? Spectacular. There will also these dumplings... SWEET POTATO DUMPLINGS! And they had sage and candied walnuts. Ultimately they tasted more like a dessert, but I was obsessed with those and loved how unique they were. I'd return here, there's just too much good stuff to try! Can get pricey if you want to try a lot of wines, though.

I tried the Beef Tartare ($19) which came with a quail egg and sunchoke chips on top, a small side salad, and a large bread basket. The tartare was good and the bread was great. For an entree, the Trout à la Grenobloise ($33) was great. It came with mashed potatoes, green beans, almonds, and caper-lemon-brown butter sauce. It was a really nicely cooked piece of fish. The restaurant was larger and the decor more modern than I expected. I also didn't realize it was part of a small chain, with locations in NYC and SF. Service was a little slow at first, but then fine. Overall, a nice, classic French meal.

Expansive wine selection--we went with the chilled Gamay and loved it. One of our party got an Alsatian beer which he enjoyed. The escargot with their puff-pastry hats were good but not astoundingly so. The French onion soup was very good with a generous cheese topping but slightly under flavored. Mushroom soup was yummy although bland to look at. Steak frites and roasted chicken were nice but the ravioles left me wanting something more. Would go back and have drinks, apps, and deserts but maybe skip the entrees!
