I stopped by on Monday morning, it wasn't very busy but it took quite a while for our food to arrive. It felt like they didn't have enough staff scheduled, which affected the overall dining experience. The food was pretty expensive for what we got. We ordered three plates plus a kids plate and it was around $80. The food was super greasy and salty.

Food was good but it took a more than an hour to get food. We didn't even get cups of water or our drinks until 20 minutes in. Wouldn't come back to this location.

The service was amazing but they were overworked. When we were here it seems like there were only two servers. The restaurant is clean but I went to use the women's bathroom and the lights were off. The tenders I ordered were a bit burnt and the pancakes someone else ordered weren't fluffy. I overheard someone say their steak tasted funny. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I'm saying 5 stars today. They seemed short staffed for being the only real sit down breakfast restaurant for miles. We were having a girls weekend out in the desert and came here for lunch/extra breakfast for next morning. The choices in Landers are slim so I highly recommend stopping at the grocery store before you head down Old lady road . once on that road there is one chance for gas or grocery mom/pop and good luck risking if it's open. there were 17 miles of nothing in between so make sure you Gas up here too. We were caught by fire trying to get on 62 so we took a parallel road so we weren't stuck in the log jam of traffic for hours. TIP make sure you always have a full tank of gas and lots of water if you are heading out this way. We've been caught on the 10 several times for fires or dust storms and are always prepared. Back to Ihop: the ladies were swamped at one time and i only saw one cook in the kitchen. The restaurant was moderately busy but there was only thr day manager and our server but there were a couple larger groups of 4-8 ppl. I get those tables are demanding even though we were famished we waited patiently . I orders a burger with side of pancakes vs fries (tomorrow take home breakfast) and ihope gives pancakes as a side .. because it's IHOP! So it took a little while for my burger and my friends fruity salad , then my burger came out with mayo & lettuce so we sent back . Our server was so sweet and she actually came back and owned the mistake saying it was her fault not the cook. Never has this ever happened in my life so we doubled her tip. Seriously no server ever admits to a mistake and 5 stars for making it right and even getting a kudos for honesty. The burger was juicy and correct the second time. My friend loved her salad . My pancakes were awesome light fluffy and the next day they were still delicious . Try this ihop. have a little patience knowing that this isn't the city so people run here at a different pace . If you are patient you'll have an excellent experience also.

BUT it was definitely the biggest, most positive surprise when it came to expectations vs. actual quality! We landed in Palm Springs late in the evening and were starving on our way out to Joshua Tree. After a quick Yelp search for something open past 7-8pm, this spot popped up. We pulled into a super quiet parking lot and found this tiny little place. Looking at it from the outside, we honestly figured it would just be a quick, forgettable pitstop. Boy, were we wrong. For starters, the place was relatively full for a Tuesday evening! We ordered the duck confit nachos, the kimchi bulgogi sandwich, and the pony wings. Wow! Granted, our expectations were unfairly low walking in, but this turned out to be probably our second-best meal of the entire week--and we ate out every single day! It absolutely crushed it in terms of exceeding expectations. It also helped that we happened to be there on a Wednesday, so all the wines were half-priced! Unfortunately, since we weren't familiar with the area, we didn't know exactly how much further we had to drive to our accommodations, so we couldn't imbibe more in such a welcoming environment. (Missed opportunity, but safety first!) Oh, and definitely save room for dessert--their pie with ice cream of the day was delicious too! If you are passing through, do not sleep on this place. I would definitely come back the next time I'm in the area!

After being told by the hostess that we could order from the full cocktail menu on the patio, we sat down only to be immediately shut down by our waiter. When I pointed out that the hostess had literally just handed us the menus and confirmed we could use them, the waiter didn't bother to check; he simply gave a dismissive, "I'm sure," and brushed us off with zero interest in helping. It is rare to find a staff so poorly coordinated and a service style so openly hostile. We didn't even stay for water before walking out. Don't let the mid-century aesthetic fool you--the service is stuck in the dark ages, and there are far too many great spots in the high desert to waste your time being treated like garbage here.

Yes it's pretty basic but what they do, they do really well. We decided to go for breakfast. I ordered three eggs, any style with hashbrowns and toast. This was $12.54. I do not eat meat and often times having just eggs is not even an option.. I asked for my toast to be well toasted and all of this was executed well. The eggs were cooked as I had ordered, there was not a hint of grease on the plate. There was no taste of stale fat which you often get when the kitchen are not changing the oil as often as they should. My toast was very brown as I had asked, often times I'll ask for well toasted bread and it will come out not well toasted at all! I server told me that the owner had cooked my breakfast, which I guess is an honor lol My boyfriend ordered a breakfast burrito $13.48 with added chilis and he said it was very tasty. The icing on the cake is they have several TVs in there and the tennis channel was on and there was some live tennis going on, so we enjoyed watching that, sitting at the bar. We will be back probably during the French Open so we can watch more tennis!
