Came across this place without previously looking it up and it was very good diner food. Everything tastes fresh and the staff were really nice and helpful. You can tell everyone works together like a great team and they made sure to check in at the table frequent enough. Ofc it's going to be hot if you are sitting outside because you are in the desert but the food and ice water was great combo for being in this area

Extra sides of their (not hot enough) hot salsa are a must.

This place never disappoints. We had another excellent breakfast here yesterday and we plan to return again this morning. The service is outstanding and it's such a cute spot to dine inside or outside. Can't go wrong there.

The reason why this place nearly lost 5 stars is because the waitress did not mention anything about there being an up charge for having sausage in the gravy of the chicken fried steak. It was brought up as an option m, but forgot to tell me about the price. Other than that, the food was great. The orange juice was fresh. The pancake my wife ordered was massive and thank God she just ordered 1 because 2 pancakes would've been too much. I would come back here but now I'll know to ask the right questions.

As many places in Joshua Tree, this place took an hour to wait for but I absolutely enjoyed the food. The tomato soup was bomb, hamburger was juicy, and the potatoes were amaaazayn. The waiter we had was so kind and even gave us some of his suggestions which, he was absolutely right about. We sat outside and it was pretty cute but also pretty cold. They have heaters but it wasn't heating up much :')

Well, on a generic Tuesday after a 35 min wait we were seated and then waited another hour for our food! As someone else mentioned, no one checked on us. Pancakes had horrible texture and were overcooked on the bottom Generic breakfast burrito Bbq Pulled pork on gluten free bread was delicious! Notably they had gluten free hash browns and potato salad , once I asked the waiter but not specified on the menu Child ate the burger without complaint Will not be returning Open daily 7-3. We saw people try to be seated at 2:46 and they were refused.

Brunch in Joshua tree perfectly lands here at Country Kitchen, at the intersection of hearty breakfast foods and cowboy comforts. It was easy to find street parking in the area, put our names on the waitlist, and walk around the area. For a group of 4, we waited just under an hour. Well worth the wait! The menu diversifies the usual palette of meat, eggs, and biscuits, but all flavors are good. The staff is friendly and tries to be attentive despite how busy and packed the crowd is. We had an issue with a long hair on a plate and they swiftly corrected the issue with a new plate. The environment is comfortably shaded and you don't feel the outside heat too badly.

Solid desert diner vibes with good biscuits and gravy and quick friendly service. There's a popular outdoor seating area and good stick-to-your-ribs breakfast options. My partner loves Bourdain and was delighted to see his photo on the wall with the owner, showing he'd been here. Partner got the cinnamon roll French toast and really liked it, but wasn't a fan of the cinnamony syrup running into his eggs. One of the better breakfasts we had in the area and it opens up earlier than most places if you want to get an early start at the park.

Their breakfast is soo good and as you can tell by the photos the pancakes are huge! I really really loved my pesto sandwich. This seemed to be a seasonal item at the time so not sure if they still have it. If they do I 100% recommend! The sauce and textures were on point! Also, the staff are super friendly and all have super unique styles. Love the welcoming/family atmosphere. Will always come back when visiting JT.

We've been wanting to try this place for a while now and so happy we finally got to! This place gets pretty crowded on the weekends so recommend coming earlier in the morning. The service was great and all the waiters are super friendly. I got a country fried steak and my husband got the prime steak. Both were delicious! Next time I want to try the pancakes, they looked delicious and huge for only $5! We sat at the counter and enjoyed the AC, the outdoor patio area looked really nice as well. Highly recommend coming here for some good home cooked breakfast/brunch meals!

Came here on Sunday around 11am and the wait was about an hour and 15 minutes so keep that in mind. They have a huge menu and mostly it's reasonably priced with gratuity included for groups of 6 or more. Some things on the menu were better than others in my opinion; the omelette and burger could have been seasoned a bit more and the hash browns were so crispy it was hard to bite down on parts of it. Over all it was a pleasant experience and I would definitely return. * I would like to add that all the staff we came in contact with was polite and accommodating, thank you all!

BE PREPARED TO WAIT Desert time for these folk, but I'm city time. They let us know it would be 35 min for first available, ended up waiting 1hr and ten minutes. Then the food took another 20. I ate the food in 20 minutes. Was it worth it? despite the inconvenience, the food was okay. I got a pancake and a breakfast burrito. Protein is a separate charge. You can't mess up a breakfast burrito. The texture was chewy and gooey. The only thing bad about ordering the burrito was that the salsa provided on the side wasn't flavorful. But it is what it is. The pancake made me less mad about waiting. It was huge, and it was on the griddle just enough so that the inside was just a bit raw. Might not sound good to most people but that how I like my pancakes. I didn't experience the great customer service this place is known for. The flies attended to me more. It's outdoors in the dessert so be prepared to fight them off your plates. Can't get my time back.

Delicious breakfast and coffee. The single pancake is huge! loved the cinnamon pancakes and French toast.

Ordered Allie's Ride, the vegan breakfast plate, and it was exactly what you want after a desert morning. Simple, hearty, and done right. The potatoes were well-seasoned and crispy, and the mix of spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers was fresh and satisfying without trying too hard to be fancy. The real win, though, is the vibe. This place feels like an old Joshua Tree staple -- cool, laid-back, a little dusty in the best way, with character you can't fake. The kind of spot where climbers, locals, and travelers all end up at the same counter. Comfort food, good portions, fair prices, and that classic high-desert atmosphere. Would absolutely come back.

My wife, her mom, and I intentionally stopped into this one in Yucca Valley as we were heading to Joshua Tree, and found the portions (value) and service to be really good. The hostess directed us to a comfortable booth, where soon our friendly server, Jessica, came right over to give us water and time to peruse the newsprint menu. The last time I was at a Black Bear, had determined to try one of their hungry bear dinner entrees. Portions are large, so knew to only order two entrees (since bringing home leftovers was not an option). We wanted to share everything, and Jessica brought out an extra plate without us even asking. Refillable fountain Pepsi was $3.99, with the rest of us being fine with water. The 4-piece homestyle fried chicken ($22.99) was half a chicken, with a very crunchy, non-greasy coating. The meat was juicy. It came with OK fries and a switched out side salad (very large for a side salad, using very fresh vegetables), instead of coleslaw (which still ended up coming out, and was enjoyed). It's a very large meal for one person, and good for the three of us. The Full Course Bear's Dinner of Slow-Cooked Pot Roast ($21.59) comes with a choice of soup or salad and two additional sides (onion rings and mashed potatoes in my case). Soup of the day was potato bacon, and it tasted good: thick with chunks of potato and real pieces of bacon. The pot roast was very tender (close to being mealy), and the brown gravy was very heavy (ended up being a great dip for the fried chicken). The onion rings were excellent, with the mashed potatoes being very hearty. All of it was prepared from frozen, so had a little bit of that frozen dinner quality, but were fine with it since we were sharing a little of everything and it had been prepared well. We had a bit of a drive left, so made sure we used the washrooms which were easy to find and clean. The check is brought to the table, but needs to be brought to the front to pay. It gave me a chance to checkout their dessert/pie display: it's the one thing that doesn't impress when compared to other diners specializing in pies. It's clear that management doesn't expect the staff to nickel/dime everything. For all that we got, there were only three charges on the check. Just makes you feel like you got your money's worth

My colleagues and I were in town for a conference and staying about a mile and a half from here. I…read moreran it and raved about the beef and crispy noodles and the calamari. On our journey to Palm Springs my team left the food choices to me since I'm picky. Lol. We showed up on a Wednesday night (note that they do not open Monday and Tuesday), around 4:40 PM. There was already a long line of individuals waiting to get in. There were about 15 people ahead of us. At opening, we were immediately sat down into the second dining room to the right of the restaurant. It gives a different vibe than the main room with its red bench seating and lantern ceiling. Although the benches were high, and the tables were a little low, we managed. Of course, we tried the complementary congee. Which I love, but my colleagues were not a big fan of. We ordered the calamari and the crispy beef noodle. We also ordered the shrimp and mango spring roll, the softshell crab and green papaya salad, and the pork belly lettuce wraps. The shining stars, for my colleagues were the calamari and crispy beef noodle. Followed by the shrimp and mango spring rolls and the softshell crab. The three of us did not enjoy the pork belly at all even though it came recommended. We actually only ate 2 pieces. The food overall was good although we wish we didn't get the pork or at least stuck to our goal of four main dishes. The waitress recommended we get one more and that's when we added the pork. Next time we will go with our gut instinct. One thing that was disappointing on this visit was that when we ordered drinks, one of them came out in a can. We were under the assumption it was a draft pour. For $14 it should have been noted that it is canned. The way that it is written into the menu no one would assume otherwise.
