Mai Tai Pancakes!!!! My fellow yelpers did me a solid! This cute place packs a strong punch with an amazing and delicious menu. We came two days in a row and everything was mouth watering good! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The wait isn't long at all due to how fast service is and the food is served hot off the griddle! We ordered Mai tai pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, house pancakes, hash and loaded potatoes. Oh! I also had a watermelon mimosa and it was made with real watermelon juice not syrup!! Loved this place!!!
Some people chase sunrises in Joshua Tree. We chased pancakes... and honestly, I think we won. JT Country Kitchen is the kind of place that reminds you why diners will never go out of style. Friendly staff who make you feel like a regular, cozy country vibes, and comfort food that'll have you questioning whether you really need to hike after breakfast. I came here with my fiancé and stepdaughter, fully expecting a good meal. What I didn't expect was to be personally attacked by the size of the pancakes. These fluffy beauties arrived looking like they were auditioning to become spare tires for my car. They're huge... gloriously huge. Then came the chicken fried steak, blanketed in creamy country gravy with a mountain of crispy country potatoes on the side. If comfort food could give hugs, this plate would've wrapped us in a warm quilt and called us "hon." Parking out front can be a bit like finding a parking space at a Black Friday sale--possible, but don't count on it. Thankfully, there's extra parking in the back, complete with reserved spaces for country music stars. We didn't spot Dolly or Willie, but we left a spot open just in case. And let's not forget the view. Step outside and--boom!--you're greeted by the stunning desert landscape with Joshua Tree National Park practically waving hello. Not a bad backdrop while digesting a pancake the size of a hubcap. Bottom line? Great people, generous portions, delicious comfort food, and enough small-town charm to make you want to linger over one more cup of coffee. We'll definitely be back the next time we're moseying through this neck of the desert. Just maybe... we'll split the pancakes next time. (Who am I kidding? Probably not.)
Came to JT Country Kitchen since it was a few minutes away from our Airbnb. Sat outside in their patio, love that they have a couple of fly spinners for each table, since I guess the flies can get pesky here. I also liked that they have "healthier" options for some of their breakfast sides. My family all enjoyed our food: -Iced Coffee, was decent. -Texas Chili Bean Omelette, chili flavor was good with a slight kick. Hashbrowns paired nicely with this. -Denver Omelette, standard. I chose grilled tomato slices and an english muffin. I enjoyed my meal. -Prime Steak 'n Eggs, was decent portion and cooked well. My family member was able to choose cottage cheese instead of potatoes. -Kids are Aces, nephew enjoyed his breakfast of pancake, bacon and hashbrowns. One unisex restroom out back that was fairly clean, though a little stuffy. Parking is street parking out front, I think they have a small lot out back, or you can also search around the block.
Great breakfast spot in the heart of JT. Servers were kind and accommodated our larger group as quick as they could, which wasn't long. We expected a little bit of a wait though as there is only so many options in the area as it is but there was seating indoors as well as outside on the side patio, which included fly repellent spinners on the table. They had something for everyone and the food was great and came out pretty quick! Highly recommend the pancakes, they're delicious and large so perfect for splitting!
Classic diner vibes, homey hosts. Anthony Bourdain was here! Ordered the breakfast burrito classic (no added meat) with country potatoes and avocado in side + salsa. It was a pretty decent breakfast burrito. Tastes a little sweet, good amount of eggs and the potatoes arent burnt which i always worry about. I like the onion taste as well. The avocado and salsa on side is good add on to add flavor. Overall a classic/solid breakfast and lunch stop in Yucca Valley.
We came to Joshua Tree for the Saturday market--they have excellent vegetables and other items. After walking around for a bit, we decided to give JT Country Kitchen a try. There was a small line when we arrived, so I put our name in, and the wait was about 25 minutes. We ended up sitting outside. A server came over to take our drink order, but we weren't quite ready to order food yet. When he came back, we still had a few questions about the menu. Another staff member stopped by, answered everything for us, and took our order. The service was great--everyone seemed to work together rather than sticking to specific tables. For food, my wife had the special, a corned beef sandwich. My mom ordered a hamburger with chips, and I went with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. Everything was very good, and you could tell it was made fresh. They also make their juices in-house, which was a nice touch. Overall, a really good experience with great food and friendly, team-oriented service.

The reason why this place nearly lost 5 stars is because the waitress did not mention anything about there being an up charge for having sausage in the gravy of the chicken fried steak. It was brought up as an option m, but forgot to tell me about the price. Other than that, the food was great. The orange juice was fresh. The pancake my wife ordered was massive and thank God she just ordered 1 because 2 pancakes would've been too much. I would come back here but now I'll know to ask the right questions.
As many places in Joshua Tree, this place took an hour to wait for but I absolutely enjoyed the food. The tomato soup was bomb, hamburger was juicy, and the potatoes were amaaazayn. The waiter we had was so kind and even gave us some of his suggestions which, he was absolutely right about. We sat outside and it was pretty cute but also pretty cold. They have heaters but it wasn't heating up much :')

Expect a wait, but Joshua tree coffee is right next door, so you can grab a drink and walk around while waiting. They have parking out back and a great outdoor seating area with a full bar
Solid desert diner vibes with good biscuits and gravy and quick friendly service. There's a popular outdoor seating area and good stick-to-your-ribs breakfast options. My partner loves Bourdain and was delighted to see his photo on the wall with the owner, showing he'd been here. Partner got the cinnamon roll French toast and really liked it, but wasn't a fan of the cinnamony syrup running into his eggs. One of the better breakfasts we had in the area and it opens up earlier than most places if you want to get an early start at the park.
came around 12:20 pm and had a wait of 35-40 minutes. it was very crowded. the place is very spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. there's also an outdoor bar area. the gravy and biscuit meal was the most delicious meal in the town. every bite was amazing and flavorful. the jt sandwich was also very delicious, crunchy and flavorful. orange juice is homemade and so refreshing. everything about this experience was amazing. i highly recommend coming here, this place is a must!
One of the best omelette's with a lot of options to choose from including Ortega chilies as well as side of grilled jalapeños. Kids liked the pancakes and eggs on the side. Wait wasn't too long but was worth it. Country potatoes were a nice pick too. Our sever Amanda was nice too and catered to all the needs and options. Both outdoor and indoor seating options. Worth a trip.

I stopped by here for a brunch spot and it definitely hit the spot. I came with a few friends and we came towards the end of brunch so we had to wait a little over 30 mins. It was a Thursday morning but they were extremely packed. It probably was the rush after the meteor shower evening. I ordered the country fried steak, my friends ordered the lemonade (homemade but SUPER TART!!), the last biscuits and gravy (this was gonna be my order too!), and the veggie omelet, and we ordered a regular French toast to share. Their homemade biscuit was hefty, but the gravy matched the biscuit. The workers were friendly and helpful when asking questions and for assistance. I loved all the homey decor, and the pictures. I was so happy to see a picture of Anthony Bourdain stopped here! Would definitely recommend coming here if you're on a stop into Joshua Tree. read more
I came on a Sunday and waited about 40 minutes for a table. Once we were seated, we waited another 40 minutes for our food. Unfortunately, the food was just okay and definitely not worth waiting that long for. We did end up getting a few of our drinks comped, which I appreciated. Other than that, the pancakes were pretty mediocre, and the biscuits and gravy were just okay. Overall, I wouldn't recommend waiting that long for the food. read more
The food was pretty disappointing. Maybe because we ordered vegetarian/vegan options? We got the biscuits 'n' gravy with the vegetarian country cream and 2 eggs scrambled. The biscuits were super dry and the vegetarian cream flavorless. The vegan breakfast burrito had more flavor to it so it was decent. It took maybe 40-45min for the food to come out. Other tables also waited quite a while for their food. There was a bit of a wait to get seated. Fortunately they have outside seating while you wait and a restroom. We walked over to get coffee at Joshua Tree Coffee Company. The staff are super nice. read more

Came across this place without previously looking it up and it was very good diner food. Everything tastes fresh and the staff were really nice and helpful. You can tell everyone works together like a great team and they made sure to check in at the table frequent enough. Ofc it's going to be hot if you are sitting outside because you are in the desert but the food and ice water was great combo for being in this area read more

Hands down, The Best breakfast and lunch in town! Both served all day. I love the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast. The Hash Browns? For real, the best I've ever had. The staff and servers are on point. Friendly, accommodating and efficient. The charm of this place is over the top! They even have an old school lunch counter and it was very comfortable. On the weekends at peak hours the wait can be long but it is well worth the wait. In the back they have benches, a restroom and a bar or you can cruise around town while waiting for your table. BE PREPARED TO WAIT Desert time for these folk, but I'm city time. They let us know it would be 35 min for first available, ended up waiting 1hr and ten minutes. Then the food took another 20. I ate the food in 20 minutes. Was it worth it? despite the inconvenience, the food was okay. I got a pancake and a breakfast burrito. Protein is a separate charge. You can't mess up a breakfast burrito. The texture was chewy and gooey. The only thing bad about ordering the burrito was that the salsa provided on the side wasn't flavorful. But it is what it is. The pancake made me less mad about waiting. It was huge, and it was on the griddle just enough so that the inside was just a bit raw. Might not sound good to most people but that how I like my pancakes. I didn't experience the great customer service this place is known for. The flies attended to me more. It's outdoors in the dessert so be prepared to fight them off your plates. Can't get my time back. read more

Brunch in Joshua tree perfectly lands here at Country Kitchen, at the intersection of hearty breakfast foods and cowboy comforts. It was easy to find street parking in the area, put our names on the waitlist, and walk around the area. For a group of 4, we waited just under an hour. Well worth the wait! The menu diversifies the usual palette of meat, eggs, and biscuits, but all flavors are good. The staff is friendly and tries to be attentive despite how busy and packed the crowd is. We had an issue with a long hair on a plate and they swiftly corrected the issue with a new plate. The environment is comfortably shaded and you don't feel the outside heat too badly. read more
Their breakfast is soo good and as you can tell by the photos the pancakes are huge! I really really loved my pesto sandwich. This seemed to be a seasonal item at the time so not sure if they still have it. If they do I 100% recommend! The sauce and textures were on point! Very disappointed with the food here. The long wait times are not really worth it. The service was good which I can appreciate, but it seemed like only one cook was available as we waited what seemed like 40 mins before it started coming. We shared the banana pancake and the country fried steak. The banana pancake had good flavor, but was burned on the bottom and my country fried steak was a little small and some parts were salty. The heat outside was already making us need water so the saltiness didn't help so much. read more

Came by after doing a small hike and left in a food coma .. For a first impression I say that's the best way to leave a restaurant ! Portions were a great match for the price . Wait time is a bit long but if you have the patience and not in a rush then it shouldn't bother you especially if you go during a busy time . (Went around 10am) Love the homey diner feel this place gives , will definitely come back again ! read more
Tried this spot on a Tuesday morning and was able to find a table right away, which was a nice start. I ordered the spicy tuna melt and it was absolutely delicious! My friends enjoyed their French toast and pancake as well. The mimosa I had was also really good. Service was a little on the slower side, and a few items were forgotten at first, but once our server remembered, she brought them out quickly. It seemed like the kitchen was pretty busy, so I get it. Overall, tasty food, good drinks, and worth a visit! read more

Well, on a generic Tuesday after a 35 min wait we were seated and then waited another hour for our food! As someone else mentioned, no one checked on us. Pancakes had horrible texture and were overcooked on the bottom Generic breakfast burrito Bbq Pulled pork on gluten free bread was delicious! Notably they had gluten free hash browns and potato salad , once I asked the waiter but not specified on the menu Child ate the burger without complaint Will not be returning Open daily 7-3. We saw people try to be seated at 2:46 and they were refused. read more

The pancakes were incredible, so large they could easily feed more than one person. All of our eggs came out perfect, like someone in the kitchen understands timing instead of guessing and hoping for the best. Our server LeRoy was a rockstar and on another level. Not the usual, "I'll check on you once and disappear into the void." This was someone who moved with purpose, like they actually cared about keeping things running smoothly and remembering the small details. Every interaction felt intentional, not scripted. Between the generous portions, genuine attentive service and thoughtful presentation, it was an awesome experience start to finish. Easily some of the best service I've ever had. The kind of service that makes you forget you're just there to eat and actually enjoy the whole environment. Rare, but apparently still possible. read more

Ordered Allie's Ride, the vegan breakfast plate, and it was exactly what you want after a desert morning. Simple, hearty, and done right. The potatoes were well-seasoned and crispy, and the mix of spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers was fresh and satisfying without trying too hard to be fancy. The real win, though, is the vibe. This place feels like an old Joshua Tree staple -- cool, laid-back, a little dusty in the best way, with character you can't fake. The kind of spot where climbers, locals, and travelers all end up at the same counter. Comfort food, good portions, fair prices, and that classic high-desert atmosphere. Came here on Sunday around 11am and the wait was about an hour and 15 minutes so keep that in mind. They have a huge menu and mostly it's reasonably priced with gratuity included for groups of 6 or more. Some things on the menu were better than others in my opinion; the omelette and burger could have been seasoned a bit more and the hash browns were so crispy it was hard to bite down on parts of it. Over all it was a pleasant experience and I would definitely return. * I would like to add that all the staff we came in contact with was polite and accommodating, thank you all! read more

Is this restaurant dog friendly?
When our patio is open (normally on weekends from 930-2) we allow well-behaved dogs at our outside seating. Inside the restaurant, due to County health code regulations we can only allow Service Animals with paperwork. Thank you!!
