Joshua tree plant- it's about 40 min outside the park

This is the takeaway shop and down the block is a cafe. It was closed but I was surprised to find such delicious food. I enjoyed a Buddha bowl with chicken, sweet potatoes, salad and a tahini dressing. It was delicious! My son had a pesto breakfast sandwich, he loved! The folks who worked there seemed very genuine and thoughtful checking in and making sure we had what we needed. I was shocked to find such a cool and natural place in a small town, especially living near Seattle, I don't expect to find this type of place. Will go there again if I get the chance

Menu is great but they don't allow customization which is unfortunate. Food was delicious, service was good. They have 2 locations the on the go coffee side is amazing.

Granola bowl & pastrami sandwich

We stayed in Joshua tree for two day and came here both days!! Love this spot! Got the granola bowl and it was super yummy with fresh fruit! We also got the pastrami sandwich and my friend said it was an all time top 3 sandwich! The pretzel bread really makes it unique and yummy. Got the acai bowl on the second day and it was sooooo good. Their acai was especially fresh and flavorful and thick. Not sure how they do it! Highly recommend! The inside is also super cute and has lots of fun and unique snacks like tin fish and unique chocolates! Wish I went earlier so that I could try their cinnamon roll! Their pastries sell out so go early!

My friends and I had a great meal at The DEZ before heading into Joshua Tree. The place is busy, understandably so, since the town is small, there's not so many places to go, and there are a lot of park tourists passing through. However, seating was open, and it was comfortable and had a good vibe. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, lox bagel, lamb pie, quiche, and coffee. Everything was really good, but the breakfast sandwich I had was delectable. The thick-cut bacon was juicy and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The lamb pie was really tasty as well, and had a great aromatic rosemary flavor. It's a bit pricey, but that's standard for Joshua Tree, since so many people from LA and San Diego are passing through. The staff are friendly, on top of stuff, and easygoing. I recommend checking it out when you're in town!

My husband and I got breakfast here before a day at Joshua tree national park and we were full for hours! We got a beef Australian meat pie to share along with the smoked salmon toast. We ended up waiting in line again for another meat pie because we loved it so much! The place does get packed so try to get there early. There is very limited seating so you may need to quickly grab a table once a party leaves.

There are a lot more places to eat in Joshua Tree than ever before. This is the café version of the takeout shop just steps away. Sizable menu with big salads, burgers sandwiches plus lots of market goodies. We came here for lunch with several people on limited diets and were able to find delicious dishes for everyone. Plus, there's a takeout case with sweet and savory goodies, as well as a market with many organic and healthy products. A great place to stop for lunch on your way to or from Joshua Tree National Park.

I like this place more every time I visit. Today's morning food haul: breakfast sandwich with spicy beef sausage and spinach feta quiche. Both super delicious. The service was delightful. Lots to choose from in the bakery case if you are there early. It's busy so they run out of stuff. This has become my regular stop for breakfast, snacks when I'm in town.

Had to have my coffee! And the Dez was the place to satisfy my needs. I grabbed a caramel iced latte with oat and it was tasty and strong. My daughter was soo happy to see they had her favorite: pina colada! She loved it! The girls working the counter were very sweet as well. They had so much tasty looking goodies but we had our hearts set on baking cookies at our Airbnb so we resisted. I loved the vibe it was giving "cool desert corner deli".

Surprisingly good food and presentation in the desert. Cute alfresco tables and nice seating inside as well. Good service.

Went on a Friday morning for a quick bite. It wasn't too busy, so I was able to order at the counter and grab a seat to dine in. I ordered a tuna melt, which came open-faced, with a small side of chips. The total was about $16. I'd come back to try other menu items, drinks, and their other small location.

Delicious food! Great service. The inside space is a bit tight but we didn't mind much. Will definitely head back next time we're in JT!

We again tried Royal Thai in Joshua Tree, new management…read more I have fairly extreme problems with any ethnic food not designed vegetarian...and while they did not have any meals meals designated vegan or vegetarian, after the explanation that after 55 years, my body could not handle "oyster sauce" or anything animal. Believing that I was ordering "incredibly bland", asking for my mixed vegetables only with "garlic and ginger"...they offered "salt". I asked for no salt as well. It was not busy and the kitchen agreed... My meal was FABULOUS...the produce used was fresh and flavorful, and the meal was incredibly NOT salty...so I could taste the robust flavors. My wife, not vegetarian also ordered mixed vegetables...normal...and added shrimp...and her verdict was the shrimp tasted as fresh as any quality shrimp she has had in CA. Hint: their levels of "spicy hot" may exceed your levels of comfort...order and amend to taste. We are delighted that we do not need to drive to Palm Springs for Thai...less than 2 miles from us.

I'm writing to share a very disappointing experience we had with a recent order this restaurant…read more We ordered the pork salted and the beef larb. When I picked up the food, I noticed the beef larb was made with ground beef rather than sliced beef, which is what we normally expect. I even looked over the food at pickup, and your staff member kindly asked if everything was okay. Unfortunately, after eating the food at our Airbnb, we noticed a strong and unpleasant aftertaste. We didn't want to waste the food, so we ate it anyway--but both my husband and I became sick the next day. My husband had significant stomach issues, and we both experienced diarrhea throughout the day. It was especially upsetting as this happened during our vacation and impacted our plans. I wanted to bring this to your attention because this was not just a matter of taste, but of food safety and quality. We were very disappointed by the experience and hope you take this feedback seriously.

Glad I tried it, but probably won't again. Espresso martini was delicious. Wild Boar Sloppy Joe was definitely worth the mess. Service was friendly and courteous. There is a dog friendly patio so we sat out back with our pups and ordered them puppy patties. Service was ok; since we were in the patio and it was a holiday they were super busy so it was understandable that we had to wait quite awhile for things (drinks, check, etc). But they servers all worked together and were nice. They grat parties of 5 an automatic 20%, but it's on the menu so be be mindful of that. The food was not bad. They had a special BBQ menu for the 4th, but didn't have the jalpeno cornbread so we went another direction. We ordered a $5 mimosa and the pretzel bites with BOMB queso and split the smashburger. All were awesome. My friends ordered the chicken sandwich and absolutely RAVED about how good it was!! Overall, this place is awesome and we can't wait to go back and sit at the very lively bar and watch some sports!

OK, so this is confusing - there are 2 pages on Yelp that are for The Dez, and there are indeed two…read morelocations, but it seems like people are just reviewing wherever they are reviewing for either location (they are like, steps from each other). ANYWAY. We have been here a couple of times - will usually stop by here when we're in Joshua Tree. On Saturdays, there is a Farmer's Market in the parking lot, so it gets pretty crowded. This last time we went, I got an iced strawberry matcha, and my partner got the chai iced tea. Both with almond milk. They still charge a surplus for non-dairy, which feels so 2022. But anyway. The drinks were delicious. We also got an almond croissant, which doesn't look like much, but it was AMAZING. And then the quiches. Oh, the quiches. I had such high hopes for these, especially since we were primed with refreshing drinks and a tasty pastry. These quiches are muffin-sized, perfect for a light meal or a heavier snack, and they look super cute. They will heat them up for you. When we went, they had bacon cheddar and spinach feta. We got one of each. My friends, these were so disappointing. First, no flavor. We asked for ketchup or hot sauce to give it a bit of acid, because it was basically egg all the way through. Solid wall of egg that tasted like the powdered egg you get at one of those corporate conference catered breakfasts. I had one tiny sliver of bacon in mine, and my partner was playing hide and seek with the spinach, and the spinach was winning. The crust itself was rubbery and chewy, not flaky like I would expect a quiche to be. I mean, it was palatable and not super expensive. I'm just not sure if you're selling food, you want it to just be "palatable". Last time, we got a savory veggie pie, and that was pretty good, so they DO have good savory foods. I think the quiches were just a huge miss this time. Bathroom is clean and single-stalled. Parking is easy in the lot, and on Farmer's Market days, I mean, c'mon, it's Joshua Tree, it's not like there isn't space on the streets too.
