So unassuming from the outside. The inside hosts so much for your eyes and soul. Vintage seating and lighting. Bar set up with light coming in. The staff were all friendly and proficient. The food, Asian flavors that had us not wanting to stop eating! Drunk menu had great options!
Step back in time with the decor, but definitely not with the food. The atmosphere has a classic, old-school feel, while the food and drinks are fresh, flavorful, and well-executed. I ordered the espresso martini, which was a fun twist on the classic, and my sister got a mocktail that was similar to an Italian soda. Both arrived quickly and were delicious. To start, we shared the spinach artichoke dip and the goddess salad. I'll let the photos do most of the talking, but both dishes were packed with flavor and the portions were generous. For our entrees, we ordered the seared ahi with fries, a Pilot's Burger, and the Copper Room grilled steak with carrots and the side of sauteed green beans. Honestly, there wasn't a single thing on the table that disappointed. Everything was cooked well, tasted great, and our service was good from start to finish. The food was so filling that we didn't even save room for dessert. The only reason for the missing star was a policy--or decision--that made absolutely no sense to us. My 80-year-old mother asked if her hamburger could be cut in half, and we were told the chef would only do it for an additional charge. Considering the quality of the service and hospitality we experienced everywhere else, that felt surprisingly petty and unnecessary. Thankfully it was the only sour note of the evening, because the food, drinks, and service were otherwise outstanding.
We come up to the desert two times a year and always look for gems, and here we are, found another one! The food was insanely good. Too many to choose from, but you have to try the pork belly. Cocktails are absolutely classic and they have some very nice elaborate cocktails as well. The jazz band was the icing on the cake.

Ordered the tofu spring rolls and marinated cucumbers to start and got the cheeseburger (medium rare) and added fries which comes with ketchup and yuzu mayo? dip. Partner ordered chicken lettuce cups and chicken skewer. The appetizers came first and the mains came too fast like right after. But i understand if it's busy and they need to get people their food quickly. Marinated cucumbers 3/5 (partner said he liked them, not like din tai fung marinated cucumbers which is what i expected) Tofu spring rolls 5/5 Fries 5/5- so fresh and not dark and burnt Hamburger 4/5- good but meat isnt seasoned- only thing we finished (shared half half) Chicken lettuce cups- 4/5 (partners rating- didnt try this) Chicken skewer- 3/5- bit burnt Dessert was on the house for birthday! Got dark chocolate ice cream (3 scoops)- very nice, rich, tastes house-made but not sure it is. Overall ambiance is cool here and food is decent. This restaurant is set away from primary Palm Springs. We took a drive one night to explore and try this place out. I love that it's placed on the landing strip and enjoyed reading the history behind its existence. When you walk in you feel like you're stepping into another time. It's original decor and wait staff is very friendly. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, ahi tuna starters, Copper Room steak, cheeseburger and Smash Burger. I ordered Tequila Sours and they were delicious! This place was such a fun experience, I would highly recommend!

Luckily the hostess was so accommodating and within about 15/20 minutes we were moved further back away from the jazz band. The band was fab but our original table made it hard to have a conversation. Both our waiter and waitress were friendly and informative. Our waiter was great at up selling and had my husband buying a dessert even though he swore he was full. Food is good but the cocktails are the real star of the show.
The Copper Room seems like a fabulous place with a great vibe, but our recent experience left us feeling unwelcome and unappreciated (and trust me... we don't need a lot). Thirty of us (reasonable adults age 50+, many meeting for the first time) booked 5 separate OpenTable reservations to get acquainted before a birthday party the next day. Each table had its own reservation with enough seats for everyone. Throughout the evening, staff were quick to tell us 'that's not how we do things here' without offering much of an explanation of how things are actually done. This came up regarding more than two people standing at the host stand for their reservation (they eventually pointed us to a patio, which they could have just done from the get-go), our multiple reservations (the only difference between us and any other table is that we had a shared reason for being there), and when we asked if we could evenly split a check across more than one credit card at a table of 8. The policies themselves were fine, the tone however was condescending. We also understand outside food fees (one of us brought a box of cupcakes in honor of the birthday), but charging each table a $25 "cake fee" when cupcakes were only consumed at one table felt excessive. We had high hopes for a place we were excited to visit. We hope they refine their approach for future guests.
Anthony was an exceptional server! We only went for opening/sunset/mocktails to check out this restaurant we hadn't been to yet. I ordered the cucumber as an app and they were perfect. Ambiance was swanky and gorgeous. I love the mirrored wall. I will definitely have to go back!
Another fun meal! Late celebration of my birthday. All the servers wished me a happy, the band sang to me and they gave us a choice of a free dessert. So lovely. I always enjoy the food and the vibes. The retro style is immaculate. If you need a bit more quiet or want to chat best to sit closer to the bar. We had the chicken wraps, veggie spring rolls, fried rice, carrots, cucumbers, edamame. Everything was good. The chocolate cake was excellent. I'm always happy to dine and hang here when I'm in the area. The service was very attentive. Very.
Excellent food, excellent vibe, good service. A must in Joshua Tree! If you can get a reservation during sunset, do it. Food: the quality is unmatched for the price. Dishes are shareable portions. Our favorites were all of them grilled steak was tender and carrots completed it well. Chicken cutlet comes with salad and is so crispy. Shishito peppers had a great sauce. Bread pudding for dessert! Parking: lot Service: good. At first when we walked in, we have some issues with friendliness. The staff couldn't have been bothered to acknowledge our party. But the waitress was excellent. Vibe: very hip I wish we lived closer. I'd easily be there this weekend.

The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is super friendly and attentive, which really adds to the overall experience. It's a great spot to enjoy good food and perfect for a Date night, Easily one of the best places in the area.

The appetizer came out lightning quick and tasted delicious (fries and spinach & artichoke dip) and the staff were knowledgeable about the menu items. Additionally, this spot was overall just a really fun and quirky spot to dine in, with different vibes for each area (i.e, bar top, 4 seater tables in the main round, and 2 seater tables along the wall each outfitted with funky chairs. Big fan of their cocktails which were pleasantly packed with flavor. I have no clue what broke down with the burgers: One member of our party ordered a burger and specifically asked for no cheese and what came out for her was literally a patty squeezed between two buns without any spreads or lettuce or even onions. Upon flagging one of the staff they fixed it immediately. I ordered a cheeseburger myself which thankfully came with everything you would expect, but despite that, it lacked flavor. So much so that I had add fries and ketchup intot he burger just to give it any taste. My sentiments were echoed by the other member in our party. read more

The Copper Room gives off total old school lounge vibes. It looks out over the runway of the tiny Yucca Valley Airport and has both a bar area and dining room. We came on a Friday night around 8pm and it was completely packed, so I recommend making a reservation. The bar area is first come first served but we noticed a cozy little nook that was open in front of the fireplace with plush chairs and felt like we got the best seat in the house. The cocktail menu features all of the classics and we knew we had to go with some martinis to fit the vibe--Holly's Gin Martini and an Espresso Martini. I loved the look of the menu and the cocktail napkins and the drinks were nice and chilled. You get a carafe with extra martini alongside the gin martini as well. We were in a bit of a rush so we kept it simple and each ordered the Cheeseburger, a straightforward burger but well executed. I probably could have used 2 patties as they're 1/3lb so on the thinner side but it was a solid burger. Overall I loved the experience and vibe here. It fits in perfectly with the town and I'll definitely be returning. read more

Everything was great about the place on arrival; very cool ambience. Arrived as a party of 4. The food turned out to be awful; over seasoned, cold burger buns, and trying way too hard with the flavor. Sesame long beans were not edible. Our server spilled ketchup on my friend's jacket, not an issue in the moment. But after paying, leaving, and going about splitting the weekend bills, we realized we were overcharged by THREE entrees. Overheard the server telling the next table over she's normally a bartender right before we left. No pickup on the restaurant phone to try and talk to someone. Have no idea why this place is rated well, was terrible for the price and quality of food and super upset about the overcharging. read more

Ima give it up to the bartender for his honest and amazing service! We had reservations, but came early to try to get a seat earlier and they wouldn't budge as far as seating. My biggest tip is, if you don't have a reservation and don't want to wait too long, get a spot at the bar area. Tables/counter seats at the bar is first come first serve, full service! Drinks: I ordered The Dude. I asked what the difference was between that and the espresso martini because they sounded the same imo. The Dude is sweeter, has a vanilla cream, & doesn't have any espresso but there's coffee liquor. The espresso martini obviously has espresso and other spices to add their own unique flavor. I LOVED the dude, def a little too sweet but I can get by. It didn't taste strong but man it hit me like a truck out of nowhere for just 1 drink. Food: We ordered the grilled shishito peppers, a cheeseburger, side of fries, and the sake cod. The shishito peppers was so good, seasoned with garlic and ponzu, giving that savory sweet & sour flavoring. The cheeseburger was a miss, taste was very mediocre, would rather have enjoyed an in n out burger, and there's no customizations so you can't add onions to it, and it's literally just the burger. If you want to order fries you have to pull out a $10 for a mountain of fries... The sake cod was really good, came with rice and shredded cabbage which was almost like coleslaw? If anything it was coleslaw lol. The cod itself was flavorful, very moist and flaky. Overall, liked it for the Asian inspired foods & the drinks. But definitely a bit of an overpriced place for what it is. read more
This place was such a vibe, but the service was a dumpster fire. We had made reservations to celebrate our wedding anniversary & wanted a fun vibey place to have good drinks & dinner. We arrived a few minutes before our time & walked through one of the side "entrance" doors. We waited a few minutes by the bar & finally someone asked if they could help, we said we have reservations & she then directed us to the front to wait. Two more people came & asked the same question & finally we were seated & were greeted by the first person a few minutes later. We ordered apps & drinks. Some time had gone by & we were waiting to order. Our waitress was okay but wasn't very attentive. Our meals were good & we enjoyed it but I felt like they skimp on the chicken (which you add on if you want protein). The drinks were good & strong. It's a different mix of crowds, they had some live music/stage on the other side of the restaurant which I thought was fun. Just felt like we overpaid for the meal & service was mid at best. Fun vibes, weird staff & okay food. I'd stay for the drinks though! read more

The food here was surprisingly sooo good! We had the pilot burger, fries and the crispy chicken lettuce wraps. All were amazing! Specifically amazing fries!! It was our anniversary so they gifted us the cheesecake and it was also amazing! read more

Ok place all around. Considering the price, my boyfriend and I left a little disappointed because the food was pretty mid. He got the burger, fries, chicken wraps and helped me eat some of my vegan meal. Everything is al la carte and sides are expensive (fries $10). My dishes also had a lot of mint which just wasn't it to be honest. A decent vibe and our server was pretty good. Overall, not worth the price and we ended up stopping at the tiny pony afterwards. read more

Incredible place to eat at! As someone with celiac, I appreciate that the chef also has celiac and accommodates anyone with celiac or gluten intolerance by making sure everything is wiped down, cleaned and safe. The chicken cutlet was incredible, steak was so tasty and the spinach dip was delicious! Chips are fried in a dedicated fryer, which anyone with celiac knows is a HUGE dealbreaker. We also had the cheesecake but devoured it before taking a photo. It was the best cheesecake we've ever had! The chef came out and even spoke to us and was super awesome. 100000/100 review from us. Haven't felt safe while eating in a very long time and today felt amazing! read more
The vintage vibe here is off the chain...I acknowledge that dates me. It's really good though, you won't be disappointed. AND the music on Wednesday (killer blues) and Sunday (cutthroat jazz ) is worth coming by. I want to gatekeep, but now you know. read more

The Copper Room is located right next to the airstrip for the Yucca Valley airport. This is a 1957 lounge that has gotten a second life. The interiors are purposefully retro and the mood is lively. We went on a Wednesday evening when they had loud music. I had made a reservation in advance so we did not have to wait for a table. We opted to sit by the music and the host gave us a nice corner booth. It was pretty loud but we liked the energy of the musicians. A server came over quickly to take our orders. They were out of the spring rolls I wanted, as well as the drink I wanted (strawberry fields). We opted for shishito peppers and the peanut noodles. I went for an aviation drink and my boyfriend opted for an old fashioned. The drinks were classic with no frills, which we appreciated. The food was good. There's a decent selection of food but we only opted for small plates as we had dinner previously. There are options for vegetarians and maybe vegans (I can't remember). I was surprised to learn the restaurant closes at 10PM. I understand that the Copper Room is not in a bustling metropolis but it was surprising to see the place clearing out by 9PM. At 8:45pm, the servers were already packing away some of the table lights, including one at an occupied table. With an hour left of business, the place looked like it was already closed. Being from New York City, this was a bit of a culture shock, where some people don't even start their evening until 11PM. And usually with an hour left to close, the bar or restaurants are still hopping and lively. I suppose this is just the pace of life here which I can respect. Though it seems like there is demand for places staying open later in the Joshua Tree area. Yes, there's a mandatory 20% tip. The language surrounding it on the menu is a little confusing, which leads me to believe people may be double tipping. Is that the intention of ownership - to create this confusion? I can see many people are unhappy with the way this mandatory tip is presented on the menu. Nonetheless, I think this is a decent spot for a cocktail and a small bite. I just wish they didn't run out of items so early on in the week. read more

Service: attentive, helpful and so friendly! Always a pleasure going to copper room for a vibey cocktail night out! Food: the menu is fun and you'll see they aren't scared to play around with different flavors and palates. I would describe the fare as eclectic but cohesive. This time, I had the seared ahi with jasmine rice. It's a good hearty meal and I'd easily come back for this. Drinks: cocktails never disappoint and good selection of whiskey. Ambiance: it's cozy. It fees like you're really taken back into the 60s-80s. It gives.. inconspicuous.. a perfect rendezvous for a soft, low-spoken exchange. It gives.. John le Carré or Ian Fleming vibes. Iykyk. Recommendations: if you're going out for drinks and feeling a little peckish, get the fries to pair with your drinks! Bar area is the spot, if you want to admire the landing strip and really feel the vibe. read more

This is a one of a kind place. Love the vibes & food. Parking is plenty, big lot. We had reservations but we didn't need them for Tuesday night. Had some drinks which were tasty & on a special. Got the cheeseburger & my friend got the pilot burger. Both were tasty. Also got French fries to share & those were incredible. Loved the live music, decor, & overall vibe. Walking into this place felt like being transported to another corner of the world, far different from the (vast and bumpy) desert land through which we just drove. The ambience was elegant and cozy, with jazzy music and moody vibes. The food was exceptional. Our table got some appetizers to share, as well as our own mains: - fries: 10/10. The sauce in addition to the ketchup was delicious, and the fries were the perfect cut. We couldn't stop going for more throughout the meal! - Green Goddess Salad: 9/10. This refreshing appetizer salad had the qualities of a main dish, especially with the portion size. The dressing was good and the dill + capers really made it delish. I had this with the added chicken skewers, which had a unique soy sauce- braised flavor. I think a classic grilled chicken would have been more satisfying with the salad, but that is just my preference. - Sake braised cod dish: 10/10 this was amazing! The portions were great and the cod had such a nice flavor that went well with the rice. - Spinach/ artichoke dip: 10/10. Loved, loved this. I only wished there was more. Service was good and attentive. Be aware there is a 20% service charge and 25% for larger groups (for 10 ppl). read more
This is one of those places I really wanted to love. We booked a reservation when we were local for Labor Day Weekend. We made the drive and were surprised to see that the restaurant IS ACTUALLY on an airstrip. There weren't any flights taking off when we went during the late evening, but the crowd and vibes were lively. The noise level was pretty loud for a dinner and I got the sense that maybe this was more of a drinks and light apps place, rather than a full on sit-down dinner establishment. The food was okay, not anything to rave about but certainly not disappointing. What really stole the show was the 1957 Martini (which can be made with gin as it should be LOL) that comes with caviar, shrimp cocktail, and all the fixing including a cute little sidecar on ice. The level of detail was well worth the $39 drink -- at least once when in Rome as they say. We probably won't make the trip out again just to eat here, but if we're in the area and are looking for a stiff drink -- this will be our spot. read more

It is not, they were incredibly accommodating to our one year old. That said, it is not the best vibe for children but definitely possible
Is there a "best seat in the house" table of 4 for dinner recommendations?
If the weather is nice, outside is beautiful especially during sunset, then the staff turns the fire pit on and you can continue to enjoy the views outside
