Hands-down the most fun and aesthetic venue in all of Joshua tree. If you end up taking a trip there, I want something a little more on the fancier side, this is the only place I would recommend having dinner. The food is exquisite and they even had a free show next door. But more than that, the owner and all of the staff were incredible, I've never seen such hospitality. We were celebrating a special event and we were upset because we didn't realize everywhere and Joshua tree closes so early and even though their kitchen was also closed, they managed to get us a little something just to celebrate. I loved it here so much I didn't wanna leave. xo road trip girl

Sadly, this place is closing up. This is Mojave Gold in Yucca Valley, California. I had the pleasure of eating here on the second to last day with my mom. We had the cast iron lamb, steak frites, mashed potatoes, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The service was great, our server, Edgar took great care of us.

We came here this past Sunday for dinner. The restaurant is nicely decorated. It's modern and elevated. There is limited parking in front of the restaurant but there's a lot in the back. After we sat down, we were handed record sleeves and inside were the menus. This was a new and different experience for me. I was going to order the Lasagna but was told they were out of it for the night. They were also out of the Pan Seared Salmon and evidently, the Mojave Veggie Burger (overheard the staff member telling the table next to us this). I ended up going with the Mojave Gold Grass-Fed Burger, and my bf ordered the Steak Frites. The food was good. I really enjoyed my burger. The sauce was delicious, and the fries were seasoned very well. I usually like to eat my fries with sauce but these fries could be eaten on their own. As for the overall experience, it was okay. We ordered a total of three dishes - two entrees and one dessert. Our dinner lasted for almost two hours, most of which were spent waiting. It took a while for the staff member to come take our orders, and after we placed our orders, it took some time for the food to come out. The Steak Frites came out wrong; my bf asked to substitute the fries with broccolini but they still gave him fries. They did take it back to the kitchen but it took a while for the dish to come back out afterward. We asked for hot water but that never came out. We also had to ask for ketchup a couple times. When we were given the bill at the end of the night, there was an extra dish that we did not order on it. Of note, the restaurant was mild to moderately busy but definitely not crowded this night. All in all, food and ambiance were good. Staff was nice and friendly, but service could use some improvement.

Really super cute restaurant. My friend really enjoyed his burger. It looked cooked perfectly. The french fries were awesome.. I gotta be honest. The veggie burger was pretty not good. It needs a binder to hold it together and make it less mushy. My whole sandwich fell apart and then it kind of tasted sweet and overly dateish And like a big pile of mush. Menu was really nice. Had some more interesting exciting things. I wish I would've ordered the lasagna that I was super going to order but for some reason, I changed my mind for the last minute and and decided on a veggie burger. Also, the people who got salads next to me the food looked really good. I will definitely give it another chance , I would not recommend the veggie burger.

We ate here on a Saturday evening for dinner. We loved the ambiance with the dim lights and upscale vibe. The host was friendly. Our waitress seemed a little off. She wasn't rude, she just didn't seem like a people person. Other reviewers say that it's kind of weird how some workers stand and observe the customers for their needs. The food was good. The Veggie Burger was my least favorite. The consistency is mushy and the burger fell apart as I continued eating it. The Potato Cakes was only about 4-5 bites as an appetizer. It did taste delicious though. The best thing was the Sticky Toffee Pudding. Worth a visit. Potential to be 5 stars. This is one of the best restaurants in the area known as the Morongo Basin, which includes Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree & Twentynine Palms. The decor is reminiscent of a 70s disco bar. The menus are all in album sleeves. Those of you born before streaming, we know what I mean. We have tried a lot of dishes here and everything has always been wonderful. We have the pickle plate appetizer, dates, steak frites, lamb meatballs, and cocktails. Would highly recommend this place if you want a really good dining experience. Service is good food and drinks are great. The only caveat is the happy hour. Menu is only from 5 to 6 and only at the bar. See photos.

Mojave Gold is a wonderful addition to the high desert! We are locals and have had both brunch and dinner and have raved about our food each time. They use ingredients and the menu options are diverse..... There is something for everyone. Also, the people who work there are warm and welcoming. We look forward to returning and trying out other items on their high desert inspired menu...Mojave Gold is going to be in our rotation!!! I should have taken a picture of our food, but it looked so delicious when it arrived that we devoured it. Suffice to say, the salmon, mac & cheese, broccolini, and kale salad were all terrific. We finished sharing a sticky toffee pudding and a French press coffee. Nice to have a classy restaurant in Yucca Valley.

I was skeptical and now I'm sold on this incredible place. A friend and I tried the Saturday Brunch and have already pledged to make it one of our regular rituals. The service is superb, the food a culinary adventure, and everything about the site is upscale. Because I am familiar with the history of the building and shared some of it with the servers, I was given a tour of the entertainment venue. I was delighted to see they had not remodeled the rolling ceiling in the large room where I booked my daughter's wedding reception in 1986. And as for the overall experience, I have eaten in some of the most celebrated restaurants in the world and found none better. Next I'll try the music venue. The bar service and selection is seductive.

Glamorous beautiful restaurant and event space. Really like the retro + sleek details and design. Beautiful job on all of it. Looking forward to shows here in the future. We enjoyed dinner. Shared just a few things. All was fine, nothing blew my mind or dazzled my tastebuds. I'd definitely go back for dinner to try more menu items. Service was a bit off, funny. Didn't deter much from our fun evening. Overall it's a wonderful addition to the high dez rotation.

Wendy is the BEST bartender in the hi desert!! Mojave Gold ROCKS !!

I was one of the first patrons there for the evening and was immediately greeted by one of the women bartending for the night. She saw my interest in the pool tables and laid out the pricing: $4/30min or $8/hr. I went ahead and paid for 2hrs of play and was handed a box of billiard balls with my choice of a table. I was introduced to the full bar, the well stocked fridge filled with beers, seltzers and wines and the specials for the weekend. As the night developed, more and more groups came in, ordered drinks and sat around the bar and tables with plenty of seating and tables available for everyone to hang out comfortably without being on top of one another. My only recommendation for this place when it does get busier, is that they have a designated ordering section at the bar where people can't sit so that those wanting to order or close their tabs can easily get to the bartender without having to awkwardly cut through people that are sitting there. Otherwise, this is a solid spot to hang out and have a couple casual drinks with a divey ambience and local feel.
