Went here for fun with my boyfriend during our trip to Joshua Tree and we loved the experience. Also brought in our own bowling balls (because what type of bowler are you if you dont bring your bowling bags everywhere lol) and there was no problem with the lanes. Bowladium looks like nothing special from the outside but it is so fun! It was clean and friendly and accommodating. Love the attached bar and taco shop. Food was fantastic! Lane rental for 2 hours was $50 with shoes for the whole gang included. They also were fun with us ordering Rocky's Pizza from across the way and bringing it in. Free big parking dirt lot on side or street parking. In one block off the highway on Adobe Road- really close to Vista Del Sol Apartments. read more

This place has a funky smell to it. The lane clerk is not helpful, takes several times to ask for assistance to fix the pins that won't dispense correctly. So far this place has been pretty great! We have gone here a few times with friends and plan to come plenty of more times! I will say the lane we get put on pretty regularly messes up a bit but as long as we aren't paying by the hour it's really not a big deal ‍ only one time on a slow day they took a little bit to get to it. A little heads up on the lights switching to neon in the dark kind of vibe would be nice too cause it's hard to bowl when in the middle of the throw the lights change but again a minor inconvenience! Food at the attached location (not sure it's actually part of the alley) is ok but I don't think I would recommend it! One of our wings was still a bit raw! 10/10 would recommend the alley though! Just think it's got some things it could improve on first being that it's a little odd there's no tables down by the seats but that's ok I guess if they're trying to avoid people eating and drinking down there. Price is very fair for it all though!!! Wish I could do like a 4.5stars! Not quite a 5 star but a 4 feels a little low for the experience! read more

I was in town visiting and found this little bar, The Back Alley. Its a sweet little dive! Amazing bartenders, super fun atmosphere. If it wasn't for the strange sleeping guy that no-one seemed to want to do anything about, I'd give this place 5 stars. This guy made me feel pretty uncomfortable. Everywhere else I have ever traveled to, sleeping people got the boot immediately. Other than that, I had a great time. I hope the next time I come back, that guy doesn't get to sleep in front of everyone trying to have a good time!! read more

This is my home away from home. Love this place. People are very nice and it does have a sports bar if you are thirsty. Leagues start at the end of August. Go there and join a league. 8 bowl sunday nights and Wednesday mornings. read more

Super fun time - it's dated, but the lanes are electronically monitored. The lanes are also in super good shape and the staff was pretty awesome. I have been to some really high-class lanes in Los Angeles, but this one is the best. No parking hassles, very laid back atmosphere, and there's also a chicken joint and a bar connected. And to those people who left Bowladium a negative review based on your experience a the bar - remember that you are leaving reviews for the WRONG business. This is just for the karaoke. Decent sound system, you can hear yourself, way cheap drinks, good party vibe. Be prepared to get skipped in your karaoke turn and/or wrong songs getting entered. It's a mess but if you're ok with just whatever happens it's ok enough. Came with a group of six and it was fun for a bit but you gradually realized that the order was haphazard and random. I'm not sorry I went but I don't see us coming back. Tania seemed way cool though - shame she wasn't running things, but I guess she only does Thursdays and this was a Saturday. Street tacos is fantastic. The garbage bowling place connected to to street tacos has the worst team members possible. (Excluding the bar) we were just enjoying our night bowling and during my turn the lane clearing bar for the pins came down after my ball was through the center of the lane. Of course the nerdy, condescending, disrespectful ball boy got butthurt that I hit the pin clearing bar even though I had no way of know the ghetto lane 16 would glitch in such a way. Then he proceeded to grab the bartender and ask this poor woman to check all of our ID's to see if any of us were underage (he was tryin to find an excuse to kick us out) so we left. This is pretty much the best bar in town , aside from the fact that all the bartenders make it their job to know you personally , they actually know the craft for which they practice , a far cry from Your typical night club . It's warm in the summer sometimes but that just means wear less clothes LOL! Overall this place is grimy for my taste, but I can see how people would like it for a dive bar hangout spot. There really isn't much to do in 29 Palms, so this place becomes a hangout for people who want to drink and bowl. If you really just want to bowl in a nice family atmosphere go to the Marine Corps base instead. The base bowling ally is so much better, updated, fun, clean and sanitary. Only downside was that there were no light bowling balls. Quaint, fun place to be in Twenty-Nine Palms. It's not fancy or new, but it's cheap and the bowling is good (cosmic bowling comes on late at night). Same ubiquitous bowling animations on old TVs. Nice adjacent bar. In the middle of our experience, the bar staff did a shift change. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, and we would have gladly closed out with the bartender that was serving us. However, she didn't inform us of her shift change, and whoever filled her spot didn't check on us or even ask if we wanted a refill on our drinks when they were sitting emptying the edge of the bar for 25+ minutes. We watched this bartender leave the bar for 15+ minutes while we were trying to order food, didn't check on us once, and we had to call her over to close our tab. As a bartender and server myself, I've honestly NEVER had such horrible service. Sure they have cheap drinks, but is it worth waiting 20 minutes for a refill, PLUS having to flag the bartender down? I don't think so! Sad this was my first time, and last, visiting this location. read more

So, even though this is a military town- it was really hard for us to find a spot for me to watch the Elite 8 tourny. We popped into a few places up from the motel that listed cocktails on the outside signs and were greeted with empty spots, fuzzy tvs, people who had less teeth than newborn babies (ok. that was mean. i take it back). We stumbled upon the Bowladium... it's small. it's dark. it serves really decent food from the nextdoor italian joint. it's got tvs. it's got great beer. and the chick behind the bar (i want to say her name is trish) was a sweetheart. my team lost. i wanted to cry. fortunately, after several beers, a large pizza, wings, and more beers- my team had lost, my wallet had not. WOW- this place is CHEAP. Let me tell you- we added 3 games of bowling and shoes- and it was still cheaper than a night out at Pinz (sans food & beers)!!! read more
