Ingress!!!! Coming in off the main road, the entrance to this big saloon was a tough find. Walking back along the building we almost found the entry...amost. it felt like a bum steer so we made our way back to the front. An exception was made and entry allowed. The place is cool, the bar is long and the food and service was great. Egress, a long walk around the bar and way towards the back was the exit. It was our first night in Joshua Tree and we were looking for a quick and easy dinner and I saw Joshua Tree saloon on a bunch of posts online. Honestly this wasn't a bad experience it was just standard bar fare. Servers were great and I was really pleased with the staff but I just thought the food was ok! We got some chips for the table. I got the chicken quesadilla to eat and don't get me wrong this was pretty tasty just not the most amazing stunning thing ever. came around 8:30 pm and it was very busy. inside is pretty loud and spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. service was friendly. ordered the coyote burger and fish taco and the taco was so delicious and flavorful. one of the best tacos ive ever eaten by far. the burger was good too but definitely not as good as the taco. the french fries were crispy and delicious. we did have to wait around 20 minutes for the order to arrive which took awhile but the food made up for it. overall, a delicious experience. read more

She got the mojito and I got the cactus cadillac, which was a bit tequila forward but I'm not complaining. When we arrived to this area we stopped at the Tiny Pony Tavern and had the best hamburger I've ever tasted and we are from Los Angeles and have tried some amazing food. They are amazing. We then went to this Joshua Tree Saloon someone in town told us about and were excited for some more good food and it was the worst food we ever tried. So disappointing. So many people recommend this place on the internet and we felt the saloon vibes. They have indoor and outdoor seating, atmosphere is decorated in a fun way. The place was packed so we did have to wait about 20 minutes for our table but service was good! We started with the sampler which had a little bit if everything and they had good ranch which is truly hard to come by. For dinner I picked the big oink with a side of mac & cheese, the sandwich was huge but everything was flavorful and yummy. It is a huge bummer that this restaurant does not serve takeout on weekends so we dragged ourselves. The service was not very nice when we tried asking questions about timing and definitely debated leaving but this was the only place open so late at night. Once seated, I was also surprised to see how expensive even the appetizers were. A "basket" of ribs was $20! Really fun local spot for good food and ambiance. We came here on a weekday afternoon for lunch and it was busy! There was a short wait for our table and the service was great. However it did take about over an hour from the time we walked in for us to get our food. Tried the chicken strips, shrimp skewers, hot wings, burger and churros. All were tasty. The bartenders are awesome - friendly, provide excellent service, and they pour great cocktails. It's a casual and friendly place; we always seem to have great conversations there. Stopped in for some early dinner and loved the ambiance immediately, it has a definite locals feel, but also a 'howdy stranger, come in' vibe as well. Super friendly staff and my meal was delicious, to say the ribs were meaty is a massive understatement, thick, juicy and the rub was just the right amount of savory to pull out that hint of sweetness in the porky perfection. I am a self admitted Cole slaw enthusiast and my preferred version is the crunchy, creamy, sweet, tangy, pinch of celery salt delight which they provided here- 10/10.The broccoli was also bright, fresh and added that guilt abating addition to the meal. Wait times have increased, it takes about 50 to 55 minutes to get your food, what really bothered me is the 1.5 hours wait after the kitchen "lost" my ticket. So, after waiting for 1.5 hours, I asked for my order to be partially canceled (especially since we were at the point happy hours started...) then suddenly they found the ticket and food was in front of me within 2 minutes. Weird.... I was not offered any discount, they refused to cancel the item. Prices: 3 stars. Food and beverage are pricey, higher than average in this location. Discrepancies between happy hours and regular menu prices are astonishing that it makes it difficult to bear regular price... A plus for Sunday afternoon live music jams. The bartender was great and attentive, gave great recommendations about the local beer. The beer was cold and the service was fast and friendly. We got wings which were really really good. Cool vibes! We biked here and were able to lock up the bikes anywhere. There's outdoor seating with music and a bar but it was extremely hot at 95+ degrees. I typically love the sun and eating outside but I was suffering from the heat! It was lively during the day, so I'm sure it would be more packed at night. I had a beer batter fish taco and a BLT. There were both really good! The fries that came with the sandwich were crispy and fresh. Fish was tasty and battered well. Although it's listed as a dive bar, it's actually more a really good local restaurant & bar with great food and great service. It's probably our favorite go-to and always a great experience. There was a wait, but we were able to grab drinks and chill on the patio while we waited to be seated. It's great - they'll give you a call once your table is ready. We shared an order of calamari ($15.99). This was good a good, standard app. I ordered the Saloon Original Patty Melt ($16.99). It's a 1/2 pound of an angus steak patty topped with melted Swiss cheese, grilled onions + Russian dressing on sourdough bread. This patty melt was hitting. I liked that the patty was proportionally very generous - it helped prevent any dryness. The Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and Russian dressing were perfect complements to even out the thick burger patty. Honestly, Joshua Teee is iconic. Today we took our uncle who was in town to eat somewhere special. He loved seeing the saloon. Grace was a very attentive and kind young lady helping us when our server failed. Our uncle is 69 years old and ordered the ribs. The rack of ribs came out and looked amazing. On our recent trip to Joshua Tree National Park, the motel we stayed in had recommendations for local places to dine. Just a few blocks away was the Joshua Tree Saloon. We went our first night - and enjoyed it so much we came back the next two nights for dinner. It's a popular place -so we put our name in and enjoyed a draft beer (they have more than a dozen on-tap, we chose from the local CVB: Coachella Valley Brewing flavors). We enjoyed their Taquitos and had both their Carnitas and Pollo Asada Tacos and one night we shared their Baby Back Ribs plate - delicious! I ordered food to go from Joshua Tree Saloon around 11 AM, and the place was basically empty, so I expected everything to be quick and fresh. I was told the wait time would be about 15 minutes, but it ended up taking around 45 minutes. After waiting that long, the food was very disappointing. The presentation was messy, the sauce spilled all over the bag, and the burger/fries looked like they were just thrown into the box. The lettuce and ingredients did not look fresh or properly prepared. I understand delays can happen when a restaurant is busy, but this was 11 AM and the place was empty.
