Walking back along the building we almost found the entry...amost. it felt like a bum steer so we made our way back to the front. An exception was made and entry allowed. The place is cool, the bar is long and the food and service was great. Egress, a long walk around the bar and way towards the back was the exit. Good drinks and delicious food at a saloon type atmosphere with lots if mirrors that make it seem bigger. She got the mojito and I got the cactus cadillac, which was a bit tequila forward but I'm not complaining. To eat, we shared the fried pickles which came with 10 (yes! 10) spears and also the southwestern half lb burger which had pretty good flavor. It is a huge bummer that this restaurant does not serve takeout on weekends so we dragged ourselves. The service was not very nice when we tried asking questions about timing and definitely debated leaving but this was the only place open so late at night. Once seated, I was also surprised to see how expensive even the appetizers were. A "basket" of ribs was $20! So many people recommend this place on the internet and we felt the saloon vibes. They have indoor and outdoor seating, atmosphere is decorated in a fun way. The place was packed so we did have to wait about 20 minutes for our table but service was good! We started with the sampler which had a little bit if everything and they had good ranch which is truly hard to come by. For dinner I picked the big oink with a side of mac & cheese, the sandwich was huge but everything was flavorful and yummy. My sister loved her patty melt, said it was probably one of the best she ever had and my friend liked his bbq burger, just said he wished there was more bbq sauce . We frequent JT's at least once during each weekend we spend here. We always sit at the bar as it's comfortable for us. The bartenders are awesome - friendly, provide excellent service, and they pour great cocktails. It's a casual and friendly place; we always seem to have great conversations there. Best fried pickles I've ever had!!! And I love me a fried pickle. They were so crunchy, flavorful, piping hot, delicious homemade ranch to dip in. Make sure you read my original review! The food quality hasn't changed much: 4 stars except the frozen fries (0 stars). I am downgrading my rating because of the service: 1 stars. Wait times have increased, it takes about 50 to 55 minutes to get your food, what really bothered me is the 1.5 hours wait after the kitchen "lost" my ticket. So, after waiting for 1.5 hours, I asked for my order to be partially canceled (especially since we were at the point happy hours started...) then suddenly they found the ticket and food was in front of me within 2 minutes. Weird.... I was not offered any discount, they refused to cancel the item. Prices: 3 stars. Food and beverage are pricey, higher than average in this location. Discrepancies between happy hours and regular menu prices are astonishing that it makes it difficult to bear regular price... A plus for Sunday afternoon live music jams. The bartender was great and attentive, gave great recommendations about the local beer. The beer was cold and the service was fast and friendly. We got wings which were really really good. Cooked crispy and you could tell that they were smoked. We also got two tacos, one battered fish and one carne asada and they both had great flavor. The fish remained crispy the whole time. Cool vibes! We biked here and were able to lock up the bikes anywhere. There's outdoor seating with music and a bar but it was extremely hot at 95+ degrees. I typically love the sun and eating outside but I was suffering from the heat! It was lively during the day, so I'm sure it would be more packed at night. I had a beer batter fish taco and a BLT. My family and I stopped by to have lunch here before heading off to Joshua Tree. We picked this restaurant because it was close to the park and the patio area is dog friendly. I ordered a BBQ burger, it was cooked perfectly. You get a choice of side and I went with mac n cheese - which my daughter ended up finishing. My husband had a chicken salad - it was huge! I dinnered here with my parents on my recent visit to Joshua Tree. For a Sunday evening, it was pretty lively. There was a wait, but we were able to grab drinks and chill on the patio while we waited to be seated. It's great - they'll give you a call once your table is ready. We shared an order of calamari ($15.99). This was good a good, standard app. I ordered the Saloon Original Patty Melt ($16.99). It's a 1/2 pound of an angus steak patty topped with melted Swiss cheese, grilled onions + Russian dressing on sourdough bread. This patty melt was hitting. I liked that the patty was proportionally very generous - it helped prevent any dryness. The Swiss cheese, grilled onions, and Russian dressing were perfect complements to even out the thick burger patty. Honestly, Joshua Teee is iconic. Although it's listed as a dive bar, it's actually more a really good local restaurant & bar with great food and great service. It's probably our favorite go-to and always a great experience. I was told the wait time would be about 15 minutes, but it ended up taking around 45 minutes. After waiting that long, the food was very disappointing. The presentation was messy, the sauce spilled all over the bag, and the burger/fries looked like they were just thrown into the box. Today we took our uncle who was in town to eat somewhere special. He loved seeing the saloon. Grace was a very attentive and kind young lady helping us when our server failed. Our uncle is 69 years old and ordered the ribs. The rack of ribs came out and looked amazing. As our uncle struggled to cut the ribs apart we asked our server if he could take the ribs and cut them apart he looked at us and said "can you cut them apart?" Easily one of the worst "dining" experiences I've had in a long time. First off, we were seated without a wait. It started off bad when they were already out of the first three things we tried to order (ribs app, salsa app, mango drink), so we decided to keep it simple and just ordered two easy appetizers, wings and tacos. That's when it went completely downhill. We sat there waiting while multiple tables that came in AFTER us were seated, served, and already eating their food. Inside and outside. Meanwhile, we had nothing. No updates, no urgency, nothing. It was honestly kind of crazy to watch. After over an hour, we were finally told our food was "on the grill." Another 20 minutes went by... still nothing. At that point, it was obvious something went wrong. Seems like the waitress clearly made a mistake but blamed it on the backed up kitchen, even though we could literally see food coming out for other tables seated after us. No accountability, no communication, and a complete waste of time. We ended up leaving without ever getting our food.
