If you have a lot of time (one hour), enjoy your food served cold and overcooked and like having each persons plate brought to the table 3 to 5 minutes from the previous plate this is the restaurant for you. Three of us arrived at 9 AM waiter finally came at 9:07. Breakfasts were brought out between 9:25 and 9:35. Hands down the worst. ate here once in January no waitress for 30 minutes when she came no coffee or drinks for 20 minutes we got up to leave and they chased us into the parking lot. Don't let the poor rating discourage you from stopping! We were traveling on vacation and decided to stop here for breakfast. We had read the reviews and were a little hesitant to stop, but gave it a shot anyhow since the kids could both find something they liked on IHOP'S menu. Turns out this was the best experience we've ever had at any IHOP. It's evident that this establishment is trying to do better for its customers than it has in the past. We recieved a very friendly greeting at the door, we were seated immediately (at 9:30am on a Saturday morning) and our waitress, Kim, was awesome! The food was hot and delivered to our table quickly. The restaurant was clean and everyone we met on the staff was pleasant. We plan on traveling this way again next summer and will definitely mark this as a nice spot to stop for a quick bite to eat! read more

Obviously under new management. The employees are arguing with each other loud enough for us to here. It is very distracting when you are trying to eat and have some good conversation. It's ridiculous and seems to be the new normal at this place. It used to be better when Greg worked here. Hopefully, they make some changes soon! read more

Me and my wife where glad to see the IHop in Slidell was open for business and went in for breakfast. I ordered French Toast with my favorite syrup, blueberry. Our waiter and the food were very good but I found the blueberry syrup to have a very strange chemical taste that my wife tasted and agreed it tasted bad. Luckily I had only poured a small amount at first and didn't ruin the whole meal with it. We also had strawberry syrup that tasted fine and I used it on the rest of my French Toast. When we got ready to leave, the waiter asked if everything was good and I informed him that the food was great but I had issue with the blueberry syrup. He poured a little on his finger and agreed it had a chemical taste. He then said he would get his manager, at which I said was not necessary that I only wanted to make him aware that something wasn't quite right with the blueberry syrup. He insisted several times to let him go get his manager so I finally relented. To my shock and awe the manager comes over takes the blueberry syrup and pours it all over his sausage sized finger spilling some on the floor and proceeds to slurp it off. He looks at me and shrugs his shoulders then proceeds to pour syrup into his cupped hand and begins lapping it up, at which point my wife said OMG, excused herself and headed for the door. He then looks down at me and says he didn't taste anything wrong insisting it taste just fine. I informed him that I didn't ask for him and only wanted to make his waiter aware that the blueberry syrup was horrible and probably not safe to eat. While heading for the door I heard him saying something about pulling it all off the self. Hopefully he follows up and has it inspected. Of course I will never eat at this IHop again... read more

We arrived here after 9 pm and it was completely dead. It looked like the only two people here was the hostess and one waitress. We were seated quickly and the waitress came and got our drink orders fairly quick. We got our food in an appropriate amount of time and it was fair truck stop food. The only real complaint would be the service, because once we got our food we really never saw someone until we flagged down someone for the ticket. read more

I am always on the go and I have little time to wait. IHop in Covington Louisiana gets me in and out in 35 min or less. The waitresses are incredibly sweet and very attentive. They always remember my order and I am always updated on promotions and new items offered on the menu. I love the fresh taste of the food but most of all I appreciate the attention to detail and attention to my time constraints. I will eat there every time I'm in town. read more

My hubby and I decided to go out for breakfast and the experience was not the best but Dianne our server was sweet. First it was pretty busy it seems everyone had the same idea this morning.....go to IHOP for breakfast. The wait for our orders was a bit lengthy. My husband had the crepes with chicken and bacon in which he said was good. I on the other hand opted for their new Southwestern Club. Imagine my face when the sandwich came with out the main ingredient which was turkey. Since the wait was lengthy I truly had lost my appetite and decided I did not want the sandwich at that point. Despite my lack luster dining experience the host who was a pleasant gentleman and our waitress who promptly apologized and smoothed things over made the difference. Been to this ihop location multiple times and every time been disappointed. You order your food and wait an hour for your food no matter how many are in your party. the waitresses are super rude and make up excuses for why the service is terrible. there are only certain waitresses that can actually do their job. after waiting an hour just for your food, the food comes out cold or it's not even what you ordered. definitely needs some type of new management because this is not gonna work if they want to stay open. read more

Every time we come into this restaurant for breakfast, we have a wonderful experience. The entire staff is so good to us, our food is always out quickly and just how we ordered it. As soon as we walk in the door we are greeted by Mr. T, and he makes the entire dining experience begin and end on amazing notes. My husband and I went into this restaurant for dinner last week, and he ordered a bacon cheeseburger and I ordered the fried chicken dinner. We sat for 35 minutes waiting for our food and never being checked on by the waitress. When our food came they had given my husband a chicken club sandwich and me chicken strips. ( hubby doesn't eat chicken) We caught the waitress and told her hang on these aren't our plates. She got very offended and mouthy and told us that is what we ordered. We told her for sure that hubby's was wrong, and I had specifically asked for a fried chicken dinner and had even showed her the picture and pointed it out to her. She grabbed our plates and mumbled and grumbled all the way away from us. Then returns a minute later with her order pad and asks us to now tell her what we want to eat. Hubby got mad and stood up and said let's go! I told him No! She is going to bring us what we ordered. So then I tell her again that I want the fried chicken dinner and she says yes, the tenders is what I just brought you! I said no I want chicken with bones in it. She then tells me they don't have that. I said yes you do, and she again says no we don't! There was a lady in a booth to our right eating some and she interjected and said yes you do and was waving her bones in the air. Then the waitress gets a menu slaps it down on the table and splays her hands across it and starts pointing at a picture of fried chicken (breast, wing, leg & thigh) and says this is what you ordered. And I said yes it is! That is chicken with bones in it. She finally gets pulled away by another waitress that tells her to quit arguing because she heard us order the right stuff the first time, and for her to just take it to the kitchen and put a rush on it because we have had to wait so long. After 25 more minutes we finally got our food and it was right this time. Then she brings us our ticket and pulls it out of the folder and starts telling me how she went back and corrected it to show the right stuff that we ordered, and that she didn't charge me for my cup of coffee. Are you serious, I have been mouthed, argued with called names and had to sit here for over an hour before we got what we ordered and you comp'd me a cup of coffee? We will not be going back here again! read more

I like IHOP but this location is a poor example of the chain. IHOP gives you a free Rooty on your birthday. So this year, I picked IHOP to get my birthday breakfast. The location was packed, the inside lobby was full and half a dozen parties were waiting outside. I figured it'll be about a 30-45 min wait, so I went in and got my name of the wait list. The hostess said it'll be 15 min, I asked 15 minutes, he replied yes 15 min. so we stayed. The lobby crowd slowly disappeared from being seated and mostly people just leaving from waiting. In about 45 min we got into the lobby seating. Most of the parties being called were parties of two so I thought nothing to ask where we were on the list. There was a party of twelve that had been waiting way longer than I. They seated that party and I heard the hostess muttering about that party of twelve threatened to take their money elsewhere. Then he said it doesn't bother me, as you can see there's plenty of business here. That's definitely not the attitude you should have and especially not expressing it to another customer. Then they called a party of five of a party that just walked in. I stood right up and asked what about my party of five. The guy said i can write your name down and it'll be 15 minutes. I said no, my name is already on the sheet and I pointed to it on the sheet. He said I called that name already. I said I've been sitting right here for the past 45 minutes. The only things they offered was to wait til they free up a table. We left and went to the waffle house. Which was a better experience. Never going visit this location again and I'll be living here for more than 6 years. Suggest you take the extra drive time and go to the Covington location. read more

Ridiculously slow service. My family and I sat in there for at least 20 minutes this morning without any acknowledgment from the wait staff. Half way through our wait, my wife went and spoke to the hostess who sat us and asked about some service. Nothing. We waited an additional 10 minutes before leaving. Food was good however the service was not. We sat down for about 15 minutes before we got waited on. Finally after having to ask to get a waiter she came over and I asked her I wanted hot vanilla coffee. When she came back with all of our drinks I received an iced coffee. When we ordered our meals she did not ask us what we wanted as a side. We had the option between pancakes and hash-browns. She just quickly walked off before asking. I guess she assumed that we both wanted pancakes seeing that that's what I received. I would have rathered hashbrowns. But whatever, I wasn't gonna make a comment. My daughter and boyfriend could pick at them. All the servers in the restaurant had a very dirty appearance. Hate to say it but MOST looked hungover and or cracked out. Their appearance alone (which I feel is supposed to be a reflection on the business (any business at that)) was just disgusting and automatically made for an uncomfortable visit. read more

We made the assumption that because there was not very many people we would do well with service. First thing she said when she walked up to our table after we sat there 15 min was I'm sorry it took so long we are really busy. After we ordered it took over 45 min to get our food and one out of four was wrong. Never got a refil on our drinks. I had to walk into the kitchen to get a refil. I will NEVER be going back to IHOP ever again. My son and I waited an hour for our breakfast this morning, By the time it was finally delivered I had to get them to bag the food up for to go because I had to be at work in 15 minutes. The service was not exceptional either. Very disappointed in the whole experience. We didn't even get to eat our food, I gave mine to my sons babysitter. It was a Valentines Breakfast date that we were not able to have because of the staff. I was very upset upon leaving. My son had to eat his food without me. Next time I will go to Waffle House. Not sure what the issue was with the other customers but our experience was great!! We are a group of 50 consisting of our High School band students who are traveling with chaperones, siblings, school officials and parents. With only 23 minutes notice, the staff at this IHOP were able to seat us immediately and in less than 10 minutes after arrival, the entire group had their breakfast order!! And the price was cheaper than what we paid at McDonalds for the same group. The food was great, service was efficient and super firendly! If we are fortunate enough to take a trip this direction again, we will be stopping here again for sure! read more
