Everyone at our table was happy with their meal, which is always a good sign when you're dining with a larger group. Our table ordered a nice variety of breakfast favorites, including the Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast ($16.28), Grandma's Pancake Breakfast ($12.99), several Sunrise Pancake Specials ($7.99 each), a Strawberry Mimosa ($19.99), along with drinks like coffee ($3.19), Dr Pepper ($3.49), and Coke Zero ($3.49). Everything arrived hot, was well prepared, and tasted just like you'd expect from Cracker Barrel--comfort food done right. The service was efficient, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time despite our larger party. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that our server could have been a little friendlier and more engaging. She was professional and got the job done, but a warmer attitude would have made the experience even better. My 2nd time here and it's just not for me. Lol. However, my daughter in law and family love it so we went. I do love the ambiance. A country store with all kinds of goodies that you can shop on the way in or out. The menu is large and they do offer breakfast all day. The burgers were great and my granddaughter loved the trout. We ordered the Old Timers breakfast which is biscuits and gravy, 2 eggs your way, bacon or sausage and a side. It was a nice breakfast but I was not impressed with the biscuits and gravy. For one, they expect you to use the biscuits they bring out for the table and the. They didn't bring the gravy with the breakfast so I had to wait on that. Also, the my both lacked flavor. This place is just mediocre. Service since their horrible remake has still not improved. We were directed to one of the four tops with bunk seating on one side. The table and the bankett were covered with pancake syrup. There were plastic utensils laying on the floor. We had to ask the service to please clean them. She never picked up the utensils. We had the beef pot roast and meatloaf with three sides dinners. My wife is granted a picky eater. The pot roast was rather fatty but the portion size was OK. The meatloaf was pretty good, it was a generous piece but they skimped on the sides. I received 9 buttered carrots, maybe two tablespoons of corn and maybe three tablespoons of mashed potatoes. Normally one eats quite a bit of mashed potatoes, gravy and meatloaf. The biscuits/muffins arrived as we were finishing our plates! Needless to say, I was not terribly impressed. The place seems louder than before. I used to come there 2-3 times/month. I really liked CB's turkey dinner, so I would get there regularly on Thursdays. It was good sized both the turkey serving and the sides but it too has been scaled back significantly. Their dinner is now "lunch-sized" and not like the picture of the CB turkey dinner on their posted ads. OK, I haven't been to CB since all the hoopla. Frankly, when I learned of all the absurd things they were doing, I tuned out. Businesses need to stay in their lane, not become social justice warriors. Hey, but if they want to, they can, just know your going to get a beating, especially in this particular space. All that said, I realized as i sat in the lobby of my crappy hotel where I had just spent the night because NO was full (NFL game at Superdome), I wanted something better than Waffle House. I figured I'd cut them some slack, since they eased off on all the nonsense. This location seems like it might have undergone the transformation, then transformed back. The walls were painted white, but the antique adornments were all there. The chairs were dark wood, just not the heavy honey colored oak they had been before. Whatever. It looked fine. Our waitress was cute as a button and on point. Super helpful, super friendly. Whatever we needed, she took care of it. The food was hot and tasty. I had a pancake breakfast with sausage, bacon, country ham and grits, two eggs scrambled with cheddar at my request. I liked it all except the ham, which was not all that tasty. I should have got the other ham. and the cheese in the eggs was kind like rubber. I didn't eat the pancakes as I got full on biscuits and gravy and all the other stuff. I took them to go. I will not write about "to-go" food as that is never an indication of what was delivered to my table. Oh, also had coffee. I have recently visited Cracker Barrel twice in two weeks, haven't been since a child, for pancakes and they did not disappoint!! I love crispy buttery pancakes and Cracker Barrel has delivered each time. The pancakes were so buttery, flavorful and delicious. I have been searching for pancakes like this and Cracker Barrel was the farthest place from my mind. I can't attest to anything else on the menu but those fried okra. Yes, I eat pancakes and fried okra lol. I do get some scrambled eggs and sausage, but they aren't who I am talking about. Anywho, in the mood for some crispy buttery pancakes, try Cracker Barrel, just be sure to tell them you want them crispy. The inside has been freshly painted and brightened up. The Country Store is always fun to walk around, and if you have a wait, you can rock all of your cares away on the porch in their rocking chairs. Our waitresses were awesome, especially the young lady that waited on us on Labor Day, she was on it, didn't even have to ask. Lastly, those biscuits, those biscuits, those biscuits!! After an early morning meeting I met my husband for breakfast at Cracker Barrel, which we haven't done in a long while. It was crowded as usual, but he was seated within 10 minutes. When I arrived, the server was right behind me, took or drink order and came back with those hot biscuits-that doesn't need butter by the way I decided to try something different so I got the grandpa's breakfast which comes with the chicken. It comes with gravy, but I requested no gravy. It was good, the chicken was okay. It's a country chicken recipe so it has a lot of breading on it or batter...whatever it's called and thats not really for me, but it may be what others like.‍ Everything else was delicious, the grits and my over medium eggs were perfect . The server, Dajon, from beginning to end was definitely a ray of sunshine. He was friendly, humorous, made recommendations and definitely went the extra mile. We had a great experience with him. I'll definitely be requesting to sit in his area when we return. When we checked out, there was a lady name, Shanna. She was great. Really friendly with a great smile. We made small talk as she checked me out. Oh wait! My family used to stop in Cracker Barrels during road trips when I was younger and I always remembered them being fun, entertaining, and yummy, so I was quite excited to come to one again. The store itself was charming and hosted all sorts of knick-knacks from toys, home goods, candy, and gag gifts. We had a party of 6 and arrived around 9am on a Sunday. We knew there'd be a wait and high traffic, though we did have to wait a smidge longer than what we were originally told, even with the hostess being conservative with her wait time (we got a table a little after 30 minutes). I ordered pancakes and they were phenomenal: I can't believe how fluffy and delicious they were, so huge props to Cracker Barrel for tasty food. On the other hand, our drinks alone (water and coke sodas) took another 30 minutes to receive, not to mention the additional wait time for our actual food to arrive. On the bright side, they had a peg game we played with to pass time and if we had wanted, there was also a checkers game set up to the side. Our waitress was sweet, though it was apparent she was overwhelmed with all the other tables she had to wait on. I'd also say that our checkout situation was stressful, as the cashier accidentally overcharged 2 of our members and mistakenly told another that her payment didn't go through. Cracker Barrel was a familiar place to enjoy. The look the smells , the food , the shop. Everything was a perfect step back in time that somehow relaxed you from the day. Especially in the winter, when the fireplace was going and the holiday music was playing. Now they've changed everything, there's great dishes removed from their menu, the dining area is all bright and the atmosphere is not CRACKER BARREL. The service was good ,but it really feels like something is missing. Sometimes you need to leave things alone and let them thrive as they are. Anyone who knows me knows that pancakes are my favorite food. Cracker Barrell has the best pancakes around! I recently stopped in to take a break from being in the car on the way back from Florida. It was a well-spent break and I got the Momma's Breakfast with the wonderful pancakes and eggs and it was just as amazing as I remember. In my younger days, Cracker Barrel always reminded me of road trip fare. However, now that I have a young one of my own, we find ourselves frequenting more often, as my picky eater of a son likes to go here. I am guessing that the storefront is a big part of Cracker Barrel's bottom line. The shopping experience begins as soon as you set foot on the front porch as there are dozens of rocking chairs and outdoor furniture for sale. When you get inside, you can buy everything from lit décor, quilting & bedding, clothes, holiday items and candy. I particularly love some of the "old school" candies such as mallow bars, Valomilk and cherry sours. I am not a big fan of the toys, as most kids (including mine) I see are pressuring their parents to buy something. I have been here enough times to have tried many of the entrees, and some of them I have listed below and all of which I think are pretty good: Pot roast Meatloaf Grilled sirloin steak Southern fried chicken Chicken tenders Farm raised catfish I like the fact that you can eat lite here by choosing a salad or perhaps the grilled chicken tenders or grilled farm raised catfish. The catfish was a pleasant surprise and there are LOTS of side dishes to choose from. With every meal, you get to choose from complimentary biscuits or cornbread. However, the cornbread is not sweet at all; therefore, if you like a sweet cornbread, this one is not for you. The food is always consistent, therefore, if you have eaten at one, you have eaten at them all. Another favorite (in the winter time) is the roaring fireplace, which everyone, including myself, seems to love. read more

As Cracker Barrels go -- consistent menu & gift shop -- this one was fine and in a good location just off i10 on the way to New Orleans. I appreciate the RV lot in the back and stay in quite a few. I usually dine late to avoid crowds, but the Friday I was there was not crowded as there was a Mardi Gras parade dntn! I had a great small dinner with great service and in the morning coffee and a kids order of pancakes with bacon. I am sure I bought some candy and a good old fashion root beer for the road. Normally I don't write reviews based on the service alone but we have visited this location 3 times now. This most recent we had a server named Noah. This guy was the most patient, respectful, and friendly server we've had across 5 states in the last 15 years. Management if you're reading this, you need to keep this guy around. As for the food, it pairs average across the board for Cracker Barrel. Nothing negative to say but nothing that hits as jaw dropping either.
