16oz sirloin (with onions), BBQ chicken. Breast, 2 orders of green beans, and a baked sweet potato with cinnamon.

I've been here three times in one week if that tells you anything. The manager (I think Warren) and the staff are amazing (they love their job) and provide a fun atmosphere without creeping in on your conversations or being too helpful and always at your table. The food is always great and the servers can get you whatever you want. There is the occasional mess up like a steak being under or overcooked, but they correct it and give you an extra side! I normally get a 16oz sirloin with onions, chicken breast, green beans, and a sweet potato and it is delicious every time.

Came for a quick meal between lunch and dinner. I was promptly seated. I mainly wanted the yeast rolls. Got the beef tips with rice and corn. Service was friendly. Typical national chain restaurant.

Have to concur with what other reviewers have already said. This restaurant is always busy. Consequently it is loud, crowded, and the wait for a table can be lengthy. The parking lot is correspondingly nutty as well. Lots of coming and going, inside the restaurant and out. The service can be hit or miss, but the odd things that happen derive from them being busy rather than from poor service. I haven't had a problem with anything that wasn't rectified right away. The servers are attentive and friendly. The last guy I had knew every last detail about everything on the menu - which options/choices come with what, what beers are on tap, what the salad dressings are, etc. - all the things that make servers go "ummm, I'll find out" he had it down. Service aside, the food is consistently great. I am not a connoisseur of steaks, I am sure you can get better ones elsewhere - but the ones I have had were always fine. The non-steak menu items are good. My wife loves the chicken tenders. The side salads are fresh and cold and almost big enough to call an entree. The baked potatoes are enormous and the baked sweet potatoes are like eating dessert with your steak. I don't drink here very often but the drinks we have had were good and reasonably priced. Recommended. Brace yourself for a little nuttiness and possibly a wait for a table and go. It's worth it.

Best drinks anywhere on earth and you can't tell us otherwise because we know it's a good place for you guys but eat up the bread

Steaks and service are phenomenal. Staff bends over backwards to accommodate your needs. Only issue is that it's sometimes too loud.

I buy extra when I can because of the minus side... It is almost impossible to get in here! I don't mind queuing up to wait at a restaurant, but every time I try to go they are lined up out the door. I have tried to go at off-times and it's still busy. Being so busy, the experience at the counter always feels rushed and there is nowhere to sit, so I never stick around once I have my bagels. I realize it's a good problem for a restaurant to have, but it still makes me want to go elsewhere. Most times I do. The bagels are a definite 5+ stars. The overall experience is 2 stars at best. Splitting the difference and giving them 3. I keep going back (well, trying to, at least) because the bagels are that good. Your results may vary. If you figure out a decent time to go in, give me a holler and let me know. I'll buy you a bagel!

I've only ever had their breakfast here, but they do SUCH a great job, I'll have to come back for their lunches too It's a casual eatery that always seems to be fairly popular. Everything is very reasonably priced, so yummy, and their portions are generous. You'll go home full without completely emptying your wallet I highly recommend their "Poor Man's Benedict" ($10). It's SO good! It comes with their freshly baked biscuit topped with fried chicken and a poached egg, smothered in their homemade sausage gravy. The biscuit is soft, the eggs are perfect, their fried chicken is flavorful and well-seasoned, and the gravy is savory and just makes it feel like comfort food. You really can't miss out on their fried chicken. I know what you're thinking, fried chicken first thing in the morning? Trust me though, it's DELISH and you won't regret it! If you're really hungry, I suggest the "Chicken Fried Platter" ($13). It's very similar to the Benedict, but it comes with an extra side. We tried the hashbrowns and they were yum. Crispy surface and soft on the inside. Just the way I like 'em!

I never saw her again, so we have it another 15 min and gave up. We looked for our angry waitress as we walked through to leave hoping she, or anyone, might notice we were leaving, but nothing. The restaurant was crowded and diners seemed happy enough so perhaps we simply got the wrong person in the wrong moments. But every now and then, a meal grabs you by the taste…read morebuds, smacks you across the face with flavor, and makes you say, "Lawd have mercy, this is what eating in Louisiana is all about." That was our night at Gallagher's in Slidell. We started like locals do: I had the chicken and andouille sausage gumbo, while my grandmother went straight for the turtle soup. Both bowls hit the table with the kind of depth you only get when somebody's been stirring that pot with love, patience, and a wooden spoon seasoned by a hundred Sundays. That gumbo had the holy trinity preaching, and that turtle soup could have converted a non-believer. Then came the knockout round. For me: an 11 oz filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes. For my grandmother: pampano fish with mirliton stuffing. Now listen, I've had a lot of steaks in my life. But this filet? This filet was different. This filet was butter-kissed, seared on a 500-degree plate, and cooked so perfectly it practically sang "When the Saints Go Marching In" with every bite. Melt-in-your-mouth good, eyes-roll-back-in-your-head good. I would've licked the plate clean, but with 500 degrees of molten butter, I'd have left Gallagher's looking like a crawfish boil accident victim. Worth it? Maybe. The pampano and mirliton stuffing? Out. Of. This. World. Seasoned like somebody's MawMaw was back there in the kitchen making sure you didn't leave without remembering what real Louisiana food is supposed to taste like. And then there was Desiree Faith. Let me be clear: the food at Gallagher's was phenomenal, but she was the reason the night became unforgettable. Desiree doesn't just serve. She elevates. She embodies. She executes at a level that turns dinner into an experience and guests into family. Serving, when it's done with this much purpose and precision, is not a job. It's a calling. And Desiree is the benchmark. The gold standard. The one every other server in Louisiana should be taking notes from. She read the table like a seasoned conductor leading an orchestra. Every move, every check-in, perfectly timed. She anticipated needs before they became requests, delivered everything with warmth and grace, and carried herself with the kind of presence that makes you feel cared for, seen, and valued. She wasn't just part of the meal. She was the heart of it. Exceptional doesn't even begin to describe it. She made such an impression on me that when the check was signed and the plates cleared, I hugged her. That is the kind of impact she leaves. Gallagher's should be proud beyond words to have her. She is not just a rock star, she is the lighthouse, the benchmark, the living definition of impeccable service. Gallagher's isn't just a restaurant. It's a front-row ticket to Louisiana flavor, hospitality, and soul. You leave full, you leave happy, and you leave knowing you've just been part of something special.
