Original Buttermilk Pancakes - (Short Stack)
Darian H.

My boyfriend and I were craving some pancakes the other weekend and hadn't had ihop in a while, so we came in for a quick breakfast. We each got pancakes but he got an omelette and I got the country fried steak. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy of course, and I always have to have the blueberry syrup! My boyfriend enjoyed his omelette as well. The country fried steak didn't really have too much flavor in my opinion and the hash browns were a little over cooked, which is why I'm giving only 4 stars, I really only come for the pancakes and flavored syrups!

The dishes are very beautiful. The portions are tasty and large. But the prices are also like in a restaurant.

Yolanda is amazing. She was a great server and made sure my food came out great. IHOP is just a great restaurant with great food. The place is clean and well kept. Coffee was hot and perfectly brewed. Waffle was fantastic. I'll be back!

The service was quick although there was only 1 waitress for the entire restaurant and 1 buslady....they both try keeping service and cleaning of the restaurant to their best of their abilities. The food came out fairly quick and cooked as requested, the portions were decent size and the with good flavor. The ambiance was ok since there was a lot of noise from the other patrons and no music. The prices were a bit steep compared to other restaurants around but overall a decent experience

Stopped in for some pancakes. First time at this location. They were good and so was the coffee. My score is primarily for the service. Very nice hostess and waitress. I actually was impressed. These days most businesses don't spend time training employees for customer service. So thanks to the ladies that served me today.

Fish and Shrimp Entrée, not really worth the cost, fries were soggy too.

Well, shut my mouth. A second visit to the new IHOP and the universe is happy again. Ordered breakfast this visit and was just slightly more than impressed. Everything was hot, fresh and quite tasty. Their buttermilk biscuits and gravy combo is quite good. The price is very fair as well. Sometimes all it takes is a second visit and a second chance to find a better experience. Since I can enjoy breakfast anytime of the day or night, I know what to order at IHOP.

Food was ok. Pancakes were a little off. A little drama it seemed like with staff, but our server was friendly.

Whenever I go to a breakfast spot, I always try the biscuits and gravy and they came highly recommended by our server. They were very friendly and sat us right away and the first thing they brought to us was their complimentary house coffee cake. I ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. The biscuits were as big as my face and tasted amazing. The gravy was a white gravy the kind you would normally find on a southern fried chicken steak. It was a very generous portion, however I prefer a more traditional gravy with sausage. Individually, though the gravy was tasty and the biscuits were tasty since they were both made from scratch. The bacon was thick cut and crispy just how I like it. Next visit I am going for pancakes. The customer service was amazing. Seriously top notch hospitality. If you find yourself in Simi check them out. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. No dinner service. Range: $$

3.5 Stars -- A Bright, Bustling Breakfast Spot With Lots to Love…read moreMy second visit to The Egg House in Simi Valley, and I'm officially convinced this place has serious breakfast magic going on. The staff is incredibly friendly -- the kind of people who greet you like you're part of the morning crew. Even when the restaurant is buzzing with families and every table is full, they move fast. I'm talking impressively quick service for how busy it gets. Yes, it's loud. Babies cry, kids chatter, plates clink, and the whole place hums with weekend‑morning energy. But honestly, it adds to the vibe. It feels lively, warm, and very "community breakfast hangout." Food-wise, they're doing great things. My first visit's Breakfast Burrito was delicious, and the salsa was so good I considered asking for a jar to go. Today I tried the vegetarian sandwich, and wow -- fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted for a late breakfast. The cottage cheese on the side was a nice little bonus. Coffee? Hot, fresh, and delivered fast. No complaints there. One thing I won't repeat: sitting next to the bathroom door. When it closes, it SLAMS like it's trying to wake the entire restaurant. Lesson learned. The place is bright and clean, though a little worn around the edges -- kind of like a well‑loved diner that's seen a lot of happy breakfasts. Prices are a bit on the higher side ($14.50 for the burrito, $13 for the sandwich), but the food quality helps soften the blow. And I have to mention the parade of gorgeous dishes going by: pancakes stacked high, colorful fresh fruit, blintzes, crepes, French toast, waffles... everything looked so good I kept turning my head like I was watching a breakfast fashion show. I'm definitely trying something sweet next time. Overall, The Egg House is friendly, fast, tasty, and full of energy. A few small quirks keep it from being perfect, but I'll absolutely be back -- and I'm coming for those pancakes.

My friends and I came here for dinner the other night and I was absolutely blown away by this spot…read more Visually, it's a stunning place and they've done a fabulous job with the aesthetic as it's the kind of place that feels like a party. Neon lights, cute signage, and overall they just did a really great job with the design and execution. There's a lot going on but it doesn't feel cheap. Ambiance is definitely A+. For dinner on a weeknight we found this spot wasn't too busy but we also came after happy hour. It was a relaxed vibe. Service was overall pretty good. I felt like all of the gals working were very very sweet and nice. Also, anytime we stopped them to ask for refills and such we got what we asked for. That's my only upgrade as since it wasn't super busy, it would have been nice for the staff to catch the refills on water or salsa on their own/more proactively but hey, it was again a relaxed lowkey night and the staff couldn't have been lovelier. I'm just curious how the service would be if they were super busy? Now on to the food and drinks. The menu was very impressive! Solid cocktail and drinks menu. I'm bummed I didn't get a cocktail but my party doesn't drink so it was more fun to get an agua Fresca with them. The guava one was good and served nicely chilled. However, next time I'll definitely get a cocktail because their drinks looked fun and beautiful. The food was definitely the standout for me. I ordered the cheese enchiladas Suizas and they were a 10/10. Not comparable to most enchiladas I've had but the sauce was fantastic and unique. I really loved these enchiladas and I'd honestly get them again. Solid flavor in the rice and beans as well. My friends also enjoyed their meal and it seemed like everyone was happy. The pricing is a little steep for Mexican food but also the ambiance and presentation make sense to me why it'd be a little more. For the three of us the bill was over $100. And that's for three mains and three non-alcoholic drinks. Normally at $33-ish a person I'd hope for at least a beer with my enchiladas, so keep that in mind. As a special occasion place or a spot to celebrate this spot is truly fantastic. I honestly loved my meal so much that even with the price point I'd rush back and bring more friends because this spot is vibey. Nice staff and a cute spot to diner, 5 stars in my books given the quality, taste of the food and the overall experience.

The lack of daily service significantly diminished our comfort. Our single bar of soap had disintegrated, leaving us without enough for basic handwashing. We also ran out of clean glasses and had to request replacements from the front desk. The staff member's reaction when we asked for four glasses was less than welcoming. In addition, both trash cans were overflowing, and I even had to replace the toilet paper roll myself--something I've never had to do at a Marriott property. Overall, we paid over $500 for our two-night stay and felt that all we received was a bed and a set of towels. Even small touches, like complimentary water, were inconsistently offered to guests.

They said they'd happily accommodate us and that an attendant would be at the front desk to help us check in and get into our room as soon as possible. When we arrived at 11:40pm, the attendant did not know how to use the computer to check us in and it ended up taking 17 minutes to check us in. I don't know if it was the system or the attendant but this took way too long, regardless. Having two children who are exhausted and waiting for their bed wait that long was unacceptable. I worked at a hotel during college so I know what the standard is for most hotels. Then we got to our room and my son pulled back the sheets to find chips all over the place. This made me worry that someone else had been in this bed and it was not fully clean! At the rate we paid, this should not have happened. I would've been fired if a room had this much of a chip mess in the bed! There was also black hair in the bathroom. Just a really unclean hotel. It looks really nice from afar, and from all of the professional pictures that are featured on their website but it's not. I tried to reach out to management to see if there could be an explanation for this mess of a room, but all the manager did was say he was sorry. We will not be coming back.

I ordered the golden retriever which was kind of like a caramel macchiato. I loved it! I also ordered the kibble cold brew with dark chocolate and coco puffs. First Visit - Definitely Coming Back…read more This was my first time at Junkyard in Simi Valley, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the fish & chips, stinking fries, chicken Parmesan, and the Godfather sandwich, paired with a Cactus Cooler and a MadeWest Hazy IPA. What really stood out was the service. Anastasia was outstanding--she gave great recommendations, explained the local favorites, and made sure we had everything we needed.
