The food used to be so good at ihop in years past. It seems like the food now is okay. Not awful not great. Just basically ok. The newer Simi ihop has some issues. I've gone there several times and every time I go they never bring the silverware or napkins to the table. You just sit there with a menu. I've ordered coffee and some pancakes a few times and I get the coffee but I don't have a spoon to mix in the half & half or sweetner. Then you have to try to get a server to notice you so you can get something that should have been at the table before they brought your food. I feel like the service is very slow. On weekdays it seems like there's only one server doing everything and it's hard to get their attention. read more

When he is your server, you receive the best service you'll find. He anticipates your needs, he's patient and delivers plus some. First time here. The greeting was meh and the place was empty but once the waitress came over everything was on point. I wish i had gotten her name. We came in during hoppy hour 3pm-9pm. Food items starting at $6 with apps for $5 so we got a burger, pancakes and chicken and mozz sticks. The chicken tenders were a bit salty for my liking but they were hot, juicy and fresh. The pancakes were great. My spouse loved the burger. My big complaint is the ranch.... Ugh it's definitely not that good restaurant ranch. Took 10 special Ed students here today and had an maxing experience. From reading some reviews was kind of worried, but everything was great. We called ahead because there was 16 of us and all separate checks! When we got there they had a section ready for us. Diana was our service and she was so sweet and super excited to serve us. She was kind yo all the students and did it all with a smile. She got everyone's order perfect, which is not easy to do. The food was really good and I loved my spinach and mushroom omelette. This location cannot handle order modifications, and they serve shamefully floppy bacon. If you pick up a piece of their bacon with a knife, it hangs around both sides like a wet noodle. If you ask for your bacon extra crispy, it still arrives floppy. The bacon also does not taste that great, and for a well established breakfast chain, your bacon should be awesome. We need it to be worth our clogged arteries OK? I really love their eggs Benedict with the pesto on it, but I specifically asked for no tomatoes and of course it came out with a full load of tomatoes. With the cost of going out to eat these days, simple order modifications like that need to be doable. The servers were very nice, and we love the little pot of coffee that lets us refill it ourselves. How do you walk in to a diner with low expectations and still manage to be disappointed? I decided to try it out because it was conveniently on my route from daughters new school and am looking for a new regular breakfast spot. The place looked clean but was warm and stuffy The service was just not there. There was a server that explained to every guest she was on her own at the time, I was not in a rush so it was not a factor for me. She took my drink order brought it out several minutes later, then took my breakfast order. That's the last I saw of her until I put my card out to pay. A gentleman that i assume was the manager brought my food out and offered me condiments. Nobody checked to see how the food was or offer a refill on my beverage which was empty before I was even half way done with my meal. If you're charging over $4 for a soft drink the least you can do is offer a refill. The server was definitely running around doing what she could but a single person can only do so much and perhaps management should do a better job with scheduling. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience and will no longer be considering it as my new breakfast stop. read more

The service I'll say was... 50/50? We got our drinks, food, and.. that was it. Basically, our service was kept to a bare minimum. We were going to order our dessert, but we were never checked on after being brought our food, and after about 25 min of waiting to even catch the service of the waitress and never getting it, we just paid and left. Our food was pretty good. I got a breakfast meal, and my other two parties got lunch/dinner plates. I took my mother-in-law here today. It was awful! The service was really bad. I had to go ask for silverware. Then my food was delivered and not my mother-in-laws. After about 5 minutes I had to tell the waitress to send it back, because my mother-in-laws food wasn't ready yet. Then we waited another 10 minutes.
