We had plans to dine elsewhere and when we arrived it was a sold out event even though I was never told that when I called earlier in the week that there was going to be a different situation (that is another story for later) So here we were a party of four looking to dine somewhere locally at prime dinner hour and striking out. My wife called MB Grille as we were already heading in that direction and talked to Alice and she allowed us to put our name on the list with the intent of us arriving in 10 minutes. We did arrive on time and the place was packed, we did get seated shortly after we arrived and Riley was our server. What a friendly easy going helpful person she was, answering questions that we had and getting answers for the questions she didn't have. Very attentive checking on us numerous times. We have dined here before and the fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection, Oysters are always good and the cocktails always spot on and refreshing. Big shout out to Riley on this one, great service is just as important as delicious food. And a great hostess such as Alice keeps the incoming customers flowing and happy and feeling welcome. Thank you both for making a fall out evening into a dining pleasure. Well done Riley and MB Grille, as always we will see you again soon. Bon Appetitto

Just a few minutes away, tucked into the corner of a shopping area next to a Target, it is easy to get to, easy to order, and available for takeout or dine-in. The menu offered several tasty-sounding vegetarian sandwiches, so I really had to spend some time deciding before I even got there. I settled on the Californian (house-marinated artichoke hearts, avocado, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, green leaf lettuce, herb aioli) and some kettle chips as an add-on. It does come with a small green side salad (Urbane House Side Salad), with a vinaigrette dressing. The sandwich was very tasty, with plenty of vegetables, and clearly had artichokes aplenty. I ordered with extra aioli on the side, but in the end did not need it, as the sandwich was very moist as made. (I did use it as a dip for the chips - no waste here!) Quick service, good value, tasty food, clean location - for a small chain sandwich shop, very good!

That was not the case here! I got the Chimmichurri steak sandwich, hubby got a Mediterranean bowl add chicken, and our friend got the salmon bowl. I tore up my sandwich. It was full of flavor, great portion of meat, and very fresh. My hubby's bowl was very good as well. Overall portions are good and flavor is great.

Picked 6 different buns, ordered 12, tater tots, one of their special iced coffees(which was unbelievable) and the cinnamon roll(because I have a huge sweet tooth). I came here to try out California Bun, an eatery that has harnessed an interesting (long overdue) concept, to package portable food. Here they prepare snack sized bites (or a little more) of favorite food fancies, enveloped in a daily fresh baked round brioche bun. The store is high ceiling, spacious and large, with ample space to dine in or carry out. It is a mom and pop joint, that is slowly but surely, beginning to make a mark. On the main wall, elegantly displayed, are all the many enticing varieties, for the day. My visit was designed to take something to go. The conundrum here is, what to order, because there were so many inviting choices that were talking to you. I finally decided to select three of these evenly browned and differently topped buns. The El Sabroso (Egg, cheddar & jack cheese, bacon & Jalapeno salsa, garnished with Cheese, bacon & jalapeño). The Roadside Burger (Seasoned ground beef, grilled onions, white American cheese, & secret house burger sauce, garnished with Cheese & bacon). The Mac Daddy (Creamy mac and cheese with a cheddar, jack, and parmesan cheese blend, garnished with Panko bread crumbs). So whats the verdict? The Mac Daddy was my least favorite. In comparing the other two, the Roadside Burger seemed to have the higher of (inside filling/inside bread) ratio, as compared to the El Sabroso. However, the latter is the most attractive bun on the outside and overall, contains a good mix of flavors and slight kick. Any food with a visible Jalapeño is a magnet, for me. Still, this concoction needs more of the egg mixture, to achieve the right balance. In general, all 3 buns were soft, had a nice texture, bread taste and chew. Service here is warm, inviting, friendly and informative.

Steakhouse Prices, Worse Than Cafeteria Food…read more Spider webs on the dining room lamps and food stains on our tablecloth were the first things I noticed during our first visit. Not exactly the first impression you'd expect from a steakhouse restaurant. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms appetizer. It arrived with plates but no silverware. We waited several minutes assuming our server would return with utensils, but she never did. We had to flag her down and ask for them. I also ordered a glass of wine that never arrived. The restaurant was slow, and by the time our entrées were served, I was still waiting. When we reminded our server, she just said "oh the wine yes!" She completely forgot! The food was even more disappointing than the service. The loaded mashed potatoes tasted extremely sour, no cheese, just shredded raw onions and sour cream with burnt top. How can you call this loaded baked potato? The mac and cheese was dry, bland, and lacked any real cheese flavor. Even the green beans had to a burnt pieces mixed in.None of the sides were at edible level. The steak was the only thing on my plate thats tolerable and even that left my stomach uncomfortable after my meal. The biggest disappointment was the food. For steakhouse prices, we were served loaded potatoes overwhelmed by raw onion, mac and cheese that tasted like cardboard, burnt green beans, and an average steak. The service and cleanliness issues only added to the frustration. We usually dine at Larsen's but decided to try support local businesses. After this experience, we'll be sticking with Larsen's. This will be our first and last visit.

I was excited to try this place because I love old school steakhouses and I love the Gold Rush…read moretheme. I don't live in the area, but I had gone to the movies nearby and got out just in time for an early dinner. I love the look of the place, it's dark and comforting and nostalgic and quite nice. Because it was early, I got a booth all to myself, as I was dining solo. My server was fantastic the entire time, but unfortunately I wasn't that happy with the food. The dinner salad was kind of unexciting, although the blue cheese dressing was good. I don't really understand the stuffed baked potato, because it was more like a twice baked potato that had maybe been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time, it was browned on top. I don't know where the cheese in the sour cream were, unless they were mixed in. I expected an actual baked potato with toppings but that's not how it came. It seems like the specialty of the house was prime rib, especially since it's only while supplies last and supplies are limited, so I ordered that. I got the 12 oz prime rib so I could take some home and eat leftovers. I was surprised that it came with a crust made of minced garlic, which is not standard or common with prime rib, and I feel like that should have been noted on the menu. Especially because garlic like that often goes against my stomach. I tried to scrape it off and eat around it, but I did end up getting kind of nauseous and gassy later which I didn't really appreciate. Also the crust wasn't all that crusty, the fat layer was basically raw and not rendered. My leftover portion was much better when I could remove the garlic and render the fat in the pan at home. The iced tea was watery and didn't have much flavor. Because I live far away, I didn't try any of the cocktails. And because I was feeling a bit nauseous from the garlic, I didn't stay for any dessert. I really wanted to like this place and maybe I'll try again by ordering some different things, if I'm in the area again. But I definitely would not make a special trip to go.
