I had heard raving reviews about the brunch they have on Sunday mornings, so we went for my birthday on 8/26/18. It was a nice brunch with an omelette bar, a few different potato options, a few more meat selections, link sausage and bacon, and a waffle bar. Additionally, there were plenty of sweets and some nice shrimp. I'll probably go back when looking for brunch, but it wasn't anything special. We were met at the door by 2 sweet young ladies who told us they were completely booked, but could be seated in the bar area. Nothing on the website says reservations are needed. On New Year's Eve Honey and I decided to check out Champion's for lunch. GREAT idea! The atmosphere was fantastic - we ate on the veranda watching the golfers. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. We will definitely be back! I had the Ahi Tuna Sandwich on Texas toast with coleslaw and wasabi mayo - Mmmmmmm The Ahi was perfectly seared with a blackened rub on the outside. Delicious. Awesomely enough, they also serve 2 styles of french fries - thick and thin. I opted for the thin fries and they were crisp and flavorful. Honey went with the Bacon BBQ Cheeseburger with thick cut onion rings. I'm guessing he was happy because he was quiet for at least a half an hour while he was occupied with his meal. I had a couple Mimosa's and he had Flat Tire on tap. They did have a great selection of beer on tap - Stella, Blue Moon, Fat Tire, etc. And our servers were both incredibly polite and efficient. Eating here at Champion's definitely made us feel well taken care of :) Treat yourself to something nice and check this place out. To Whom it May Concern: This email is long overdue! Chris is an exceptional employee; he is always professional and most helpful. I held a birthday party for a friend some months back and there were some sort of mix-up with the reservations, but Chris accommodated us to the fullest. He went out of his way to please the entire group. He added extra tables for guests, made sure that our every needs were met. He is an asset the Championship Country Club for sure. I can't wait until my next adventure there, I am sure he will be there to offer his service throughout my entire experience at the Restaurant. Setting - beautiful. Quality of food- pretty good, especially considering the enormity of an Easter Sunday brunch. Decor, lovely. However... We had reservations for the last seating of the day. There was no one at the hostess booth to welcome us. I had to track someone down. The buffet tables were no longer being attended to and were messy. There were quite a few empty chafing dishes that they never refilled. By the time we were ready for dessert, there were very few offerings left and even the ice cream toppings were scarce. We did not get the same level of service or variety of food as those that had arrived earlier. It was disappointing to say the least. And then it got worse. When I went to get some coffee, they were out of cups, spoons and cream. So I went to the outside bar. The staff asked if we had dined outdoors. We had not, so we were directed me back indoors. I had to flag down some cups and spoons and cream. Although the staff was very pleasant, it was abundantly clear that they were more interested in clearing the dining room than attending to guests. read more

Besides a beautiful venue, if you want a terrible dining experience, this is your place. The food is atrocious, the servers don't even know you exist and it lacks any essence of customer service. I have been here many times and it progressively gets worse. My latest experience, we got served uncooked eggs (prevalent white albumin showing), soggy waffles and a cold omelette. The waiters had no remorse and proceeded to totally ignore us. You're better off going to McDonald's for breakfast. A huge mistake; This morning I yelped for a nice breakfast place. First knowing it was Easter I was fully aware getting a reservation was going to be difficult so when I called the Champion they said they were full but we were more than welcome to come to the bar and enjoy their regular menu. Not a problem since we are simple eaters and not really into a buffet anyway. We were allowed to take seating in a lovely bar setting over looking the golf course. All good and we had high hopes then of enjoying a lovely Sunday morning meal. After 20 minutes before being spoken to we ordered a bloody mary, a cup of coffee, two waters with lemon and because it took so long to see our server we ordered an omelette with english muffin and two eggs over medium bacon and toast. Thats it. Nothing too difficult, like I said we are simple eaters. After 20 minutes we received a bloody mary and one glass of water with lemon. About ten minutes later we received a half cup of coffee on the promise the fresh stuff was being brewed and I again asked for water with lemon. My water came after 20 more minutes and another ten after that we got our eggs......but no toast. The toast was on the way. The silverware would take another 5 minutes to arrive. The eggs were gorgeous, bacon smelled fabulous and I love sliced tomatoes and eggs, all good so I sliced up my meal and began to eat a few bites while waiting for my toast which still wasnt there 15 minutes later. I waited because to me, eggs toast and a bite of bacon and tomato is the perfect bite. And I waited.... and I waited until I had to ask for my toast again. Still nothing until I pushed my plate aside because it was completely cold. I asked for the check and was told they would make my eggs again. Ten more and a side plate with two greasy eggs, one with the yolk broken came to my table with lo and behold, the toast and the english muffin that was supposed to be served with the two breakfasts. BOTH were cold. Both came without being buttered. I gave up and just asked for the check again. The server was of course apologetic and blamed it on the kitchen however getting drinks, water, silverware, is not the duty of the kitchen. Neither is making coffee which the half cup delivered was indeed refilled with what was obviously NOT a fresh pot and not another round of coffee was ever offered at the table. There was another table that was now seated next to us that had their menus but had also asked 3 times to be served or get water and they still hadnt been seen to so I leaned over and let them know they were probably better off to find another place to eat. They left before we did. While the bill was being handled, we assumed another 15 minute wait to simply get change, I went to speak to the kitchen manager who should be fired. Honestly. anyone in management who hears that a customer of theirs was so completely unsatisfied should say more than "oh Sorry but we are really busy and the bar should have told you there was only a limited menu offered today." Which we had never been told there was an limited menu. So I looked around the dining room at all the very empty tables and let that person know that simply apologizing, because I shouldnt have been allowed to eat there, was not enough and that I was going to yelp the experience. While I was speaking to this man a woman who had been waiting with her party to be seated interrupted us and asked for help. She was still standing there when I left and on the way out I let them know as well that I had just had a horrible experience. The woman looked at me and said "Horrible?" There Sunday Brunch is excellent. Lots of choices, champagne is included & the view on the patio is unbelievable. I have also attended a few banquet events that the restaurant caters as well. The food has always been top notch! read more

First off the setting at MCC is a fantastic rancho California style setting with fantastic views. Patio setting is ample and indoor seating is comfortable with views, you can't go wrong wherever you sit. The menus are fantastic, lunch, bar, appetizer, and dinner. The lunch menu is till 5:30 and it has plenty of treats, the bar menu has appetizer item and a free pint of beer. We saw a few steak nacho dishes served off the bar menu and wow looked fantastic. We ordered off the lunch menu a lobster spinach cheese sauce appetizer which was good but not great, then we had a fantastic salmon steak burger with chipotle slaw. The salmon steak was thick and juicy cooked just right, the slaw was good but not great. The dessert was a Banana Foster, yes it was good and yes some 16 hrs later I'd have another. Nice location, beautifully arranged food... and that's about it. The staff was unorganized and unprepared. The brunch comes with mimosas, yet we weren't offered any. They took away or table setting and coffee when we got up for seconds (but hadn't paid). They said they thought we had left (without paying???). We had an early reservation, and we're put outside (to fight off flies) although there were few people seated indoors. The waffle and carving station were unmaned, so we had to wait quite a while to be served. And the chocolate covered strawberries were obviously left overs (the chocolate was grainy). The other food wasn't bad, but the service was poor. It took 15 minutes just to get the check (on a buffet). We felt like it wasted our time. read more

I feel bad for this place. The reviews are decent but there are not enough reviews. Not only are there not enough reviews, there aren't enough customers... We ate here for dinner and we were the only ones there for the first 30 minutes. By the time we left there were only 4 tables used at 7:30pm on a Saturday night! And man..... The food is BOMB! I had the tortilla soup and it was perfect.. For entree I had the lobster ravioli. AMAZING! Perfectly flavored and cooked. Decent size chunks of lobster topped with sun dried tomatoes and perfectly flavored shrimp in an Alfredo sauce. My wife had the Moorpark Chicken. A baked half chicken perfectly cooked. Even the white breast meat was juicy! I feel bad that they were not busy. I wish the community of Moorpark was aware of their dinner menu and delicious flavors.
