I come here every so often to eat, I am aware the service isn't top notch but I would hope that the servers check the expiration dates when serving food. Or at least checking when shipments get delivered. I order my usual with chocolate milk. The chocolate milk was slimy and had bubbles on top. I took the smallest sip and it was sour. I proceeded to ask what drink I was served, she stated it was chocolate milk. There was no apology or acknowledgment of serving a rancid milk based product.. I received a call from their district manager(?) named Hermand (I hope I didn't butcher his name) but he had received my feedback (not from Yelp, but I contacted them via their website, using the Contact Us form). And I must say, Hermand definitely didn't disappoint in making ME, as the consumer, happy and willing to give IHOP a second chance. He gave me two options: 1) Complementary meal of $40, on the house or 2) A full refund. I have yet to decide which one of the latter I'd take.. BUT.. I'm VERY pleased with the way IHOP has chose to handle this situation. So from a customer service standpoint, I give y'all an A+! I hope in the near future, my order will be edible and not overcooked or over prepped! I celebrated my birthday at the Glendale Ave. IHOP. It was a perfect choice. Everyone enjoyed their food, especially my grandson. All the food was eaten, including the 4 chocolate chip pancakes that my grandson ate. I didn't expect fancy food, just IHOP fare, omelettes, pancakes, scrambled eggs, and that is what I got. Our waitress was sweet and very good at serving our table. There is nothing else I could ask for, easy parking, easy seating, relatively quiet at lunch time , and pancakes for all. I used to love ihop as a kid. You only had a few choices back then for Sunday breakfast and IHOP was always one of the top picks. So it's surprising that the quality has seemed to diminish so much. Went here the other day and couldn't decide what I wanted so I went with the 2/2/2. 2 pancakes 2 strips of bacon or sausage and 2 eggs. Well, the shirt and long of it was the eggs were the best part. How can you screw up eggs? The pancakes were over cooked and the bacon literally was 1 piece that they had cut in half and passed as 2. I've worked in the restaurant industry for many years. There's no way bacon slices are that tiny. I asked the waiter and he just said yup that's 2 slices. Sadly it wasn't worth the $11 you get charged for it. I ordered Roast Beef with green beans. Each person received plate at separate intervals. My green beans were supposed to be cooked in garlic butter, they were not. When I raised this with server, "oh NO my dear, they're not supposed to have that". (Red flag: argumentative coupled with cheesy term of endearment = condescension) I AM NOT your "dear"! I showed her the description IN THE MENU, she left to take up matter in kitchen. She returned stating that the menu has changed, that they no longer cook the green beans this way, with garlic butter - BUT FOR ME they would make this exception. (RED FLAG: The menu says what it says, it should be honored - and honoring it is NOT as a FAVOR to customer but as a professional obligation) She left my original green beans on table in front of me, she said they would make a fresh serving. She came back some time later with another plate of green beans. You could smell the garlic. Okay. I took one bite, they were FROZEN. Completely unacceptable. Not a mere inconvenience nor mishap but a violation of proper preparation and food temperature. What was the hurry? There were very few customers. This was blatant disregard and disrespect. My husband called server to table, asked her to touch the green beans , she did and instantly acknowledged that they were frozen. She took them to kitchen, I don't know what was said, if anything but I was livid and ready to leave. I do not know if they comped the green beans or not because I was completely offended and ready to exit. Came in for their $5 unlimited pancakes on Labor Day. It was busy but we got seated right away. If you order an entree you still get unlimited pancakes. Got the country fried steak and it was bomb. Our server Sarita was super nice and helpful explaining the promotion. Best Ihop location within the glendale area forsure. read more

We had such a bad experience tonight. First it was super empty and we got there at 9:00 pm. Server took our order and then came back to ask us for the order again. Then, 30 minutes later when we asked about our food the server jokingly said "has it been 20 minutes? let me check" well he cheked and it had been 35 minutes. He then started loudly speaking about us and saying how he would offer a discount and was laughing about it. Hash browns should be golden - not white and specks of dark drown to black. Yeah flipping the burnt side down is a weak practice of a subpar business. I was at IHOP at 605 N Glendale Ave,Glendale, CA 91206 on 10/01/23.When I was ready to pay I went to the register and asked for my check. I paid $55.85 which was my bill and I left $5.00 tip also I wrote next to the tip cash. After a couple of days I saw IHOP charged me $59.59 which is more than what my total charge was so it means I was charged $3.74 extra. I called the restaurant I asked the manager why there was an extra charge and she, the manager, told me I left $3.74 tip, I told her NO! I left a cash tip and asked her to check the original receipt, she told me, "I don't have access to the original receipt so wait for the next day for the other manager she is going to look it up" then she asked me for my information and next day the other manager called me "she told me I left $3.74 tip" I also told her I did not leave that tip and I actually left $5 cash tip. The morning manager said to me she could not find the original receipt either. I know it's a big lie, but I was clever enough to take a picture of my receipt and the $5.00 cash tip next to it. I told the manager I have proof I have a picture of the receipt I signed with the cash tip. She told me to send it to her,so I did then she was speechless. Then she had the audacity to say it was mistake or misunderstanding from the server who stole from me because in reality it is stealing. I had the worst experience at this location today. My husband and I went in for a quick and easy bite since I had been craving pancakes all week. Upon entering, we were met with a long wait before being acknowledged, the host bickering with her coworker about where to seat us, and we picked up on how run down and dirty the place looked. Once we were sat, we waited AT LEAST 20 minutes before having to flag someone down to ask if they would take our order. He then turned around and started going back and forth with his coworker on whose table it is and they both didn't want to take our table. This was argued in Spanish right next to us, which we happen to understand. After our order was take, we waited a very long time for food which to no surprise was wrong. We decided to just eat it and try to get out fast. That obviously didn't happen because we sat a very long time waiting for the check that never came. During this time, five different parties had issues as well. The table that was sat behind us was never acknowledged so they walked out. My husband eventually got up, asked to pay, and got us closed out. There was no apology or acknowledgment to leaving us hanging. My family and I enjoy going to this IHOP, we have always had great service. Too bad I can't say the same for today. First, the waitress spilled HOT coffee on my 13 year old nephews arm and leg. She kept apologizing and brought plenty of napkins. When our order was brought to us and she handed me my plate, I told her that wasn't what I ordered. I told her I ordered the egg white pesto veggie omelette. She responded, No, you said veggie pesto as she kept trying to hand me an order of eggs Benedict that had pesto.
