I had a very frustrating experience at Blaze Pizza in Glendale Galleria. The setup was confusing from the start they have two registers, and it's not clear where the line actually begins. I stood where I believed the line was and waited for about 20 minutes. When it was finally my turn, the employee told me I needed to go to the back of a different line because I had been on my phone and she "wasn't sure" if I was actually waiting. This made no sense, especially since I had been standing there the entire time and she had clearly seen me. There were barely any customers when I arrived, but after being told to move, I was suddenly stuck behind a much longer line. Instead of helping or acknowledging the confusion, I was just dismissed and told to start over. The lack of clear organization and poor customer service made this a really disappointing experience. We visited Blaze Pizza with my son. The food had a lot of cheese and was salty. While eating, my son got thirsty. He asked an employee named Melanie for a cup to get some water. Melanie told him they had no cups left for water. She explained clearly that they only had cups for soda. She did not offer him a soda cup because those cups require payment. This meant my son had no free option to get water. I believe this situation is wrong for several reasons. Firstly, I encourage my son to be independent. Kids should always feel comfortable asking adults for water.Secondly, water is healthy and important, especially after eating salty food. We teach our son not to drink soda.Thirdly, kids should never be turned away when asking for water. Staying hydrated is extremely important, particularly during hot days in Los Angeles. Adults, especially restaurant employees, should always provide help when a child asks for water. After my son told me this, I approached Melanie to confirm the situation. Melanie again said clearly there were no cups for water, only soda cups available. Then another male employee came. He politely offered a soda cup, we did not accept it because we already had water in our car and were about to leave. So we drank water later in our car. My concern is not about Melanie. She was probably just following the business policy. My main concern is about the management and their policy. Management should understand it is not right to place kids in such situations. Not every child has an adult nearby to help or money available. It is important that children always have access to water. I hope management reads this review carefully and clearly explains to all employees the importance of providing free water when children request it. The policy should be changed to ensure kids always have access to water in their restaurant. This review expresses my personal experience and honest opinion. When it was almost my turn, the young girl with the midriff told me they weren't taking any more orders. I told her that she saw me waiting in line so why didn't she tell me and she replied "my bad". I told her it wasn't just "her bad" but unprofessional. Something like "I apologize but we are getting ready to close and cannot take any more orders" would have been more professional than "my bad". However, here, you pay the under $20 to build your own pie VS the $20 for a predetermined menu item at Prime. It's not bad and I don't get any reactions eating their food. I like online ordering since this is within walking distance and the pies are fresh when I get there. However, there are times where my pies just suck. Like today, for example. Asked for a well done pie and it was floppy and basically raw. Making GF pies well done, imo, is the best way to eat them since they have more support and it has better flavor. Sometimes, I also get random toppings in my pie that I didn't request, so I have to pick them out myself. Luckily, they were all veg and not something I couldn't have. The pepperoni and basil also complement well with the pesto flavor, as it gives more saltiness and basil flavor. Since the garlic pesto sauce has oil, it created a nice extra crunch after cooking. The gluten free dough tastes very similar to the regular dough, and runs on the thin side compared to most Pizza places. Servers were friendly, and prices aren't too expensive. Going through the mall, this place was a nice choice for not trying to spend too much to eat. The setting is big enough that you can't miss it! The service was very good every time I went here! The pizza and toppings were very tasty (and I probably have ordered 95% of the items you are able to put on the pizza). It's very filling and they gave the same amount of items every time. There was very little basil to the point where I thought the young lady was going to go to the back to get more but of course that's too much like right. So they ended up going to Chipotle where they settled for a burrito and had a Eureka moment and I guess you can say the rest is history. Backed by investors and franchisees that include Maria Shriver, Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner, and even LeBron James, their pizza dough and ingredients are designed by Executive Chef Bradford of Olio Pizzeria & Café, which is a 4-star rated pizzeria near The Grove in West Los Angeles. Of course with innovation comes imitation and there have been a zillion BYOP places that have since opened up. I've tried quite a few of them including PizzaRev, Pieology, and Project Pie, but I keep coming back to Blaze because Blaze simply tastes better. I guess you can say that "I Love to Blaze!" And unlike LeBron, Blaze's pizzas are not floppers! The Glendale Galleria location is located on the Bloomingdale's side of the mall where there used to be a Build-a-Bear. The staff must have been tired. It was a Monday evening, I ordered 2 preset pizzas, white top and meat lovers to go The staff was friendly and they asked me how I was doing, twice. I answered their question about what topic I wanted, twice. They weren't uninterested (or high) just tired, they genuinely looked tired, bags under their eyes. That didn't bother me at all, thought it was a little funny BUT, I guess in their tired sloth like movements, they left my pizzas in the oven a bit too long and burnt my meat lovers pizza! The bottom was all black! I couldn't eat it! my husband tried, but we ended up throwing away 1/3 of it, and I hate wasting food! I don't think they did it on purpose.
