Vintage, classic restaurants are far and few between, so this is one to be treasured. Just the Tiki atmosphere is welcoming enough, with the archive murals of Polynesian life. I had to order a steak, so got the 8 oz. filet mignon and it was well prepared. Meals come with soup or salad, a side and plenty of bread-- you won't leave hungry. I enjoyed the spinach as a side (and was not too buttery). The shrimp brochette is also a standout. I love that a server tosses your salad table side, and we all opted for the blue cheese dressing, which was very tasty. I had to order a Mai Tai, which was refreshing, even though I'm not much of a rum fan. You go here for the experience, and we had a great time.

Been here once before for a drink. First time eating here today. Service could have been better. The guy kept making mistakes & didn't fill our waters & didn't clear any dirty plates for the longest time. Lettuce on the dinner salads was on its way out. The Mahi Mahi & twice baked potato was simply okay. The drinks were good. We had the Macadamia Nut Chi Chi, Mai Chi, & the Damon's Mai Tai. I'd definitely return for drinks. Love the ambience!

Damon's gets five stars for simply having an incredible vibe! Feels like walking into a retro time-machine with steaks and tropical drinks. The libations are strong here, the salads are fresh and all the food is tasty. Don't miss the coconut shrimp!! Great service, plenty of parking in the back, huge seating area, and fun for the entire family. An absolute gem in the heart of Glendale!!

Solid place with a cool old school tiki vibe to it. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the friendliness and service overall. There was a good variety of drinks but we went with the Mai tai since that's what the bartender recommended and it was overall a good drink. Food was also a solid choice as we got the Wagyu corn dog 8/10, a steak with a baked potato and a burger. Overall everything tasted good, there wasn't anything outstanding but would still come back here again. Check this place out of if you're in the area and like tiki bar vibes while grabbing a bite to eat!

I remember coming here 11 years ago after going to Porto's next door & discovering there was a tiki bar next door! But this time we actually ate here as to last was just a couple of drinks so to start I love the ambience of the place the wall paper along with all the murals on the wall taking me back to Hawaii! I ordered a Mai Chi which I actually really enjoyed! We also ordered the garlic bread which was pretty good. I ordered the mahi mahi with french fries which were good I enjoyed it myself. I also had gotten the salad prior to the main course which I liked. The service from the assistant manager was really good! As to our actual server my guy just needed a little more help. The food was okay honestly but for sure I loved my drinks both times I've been here. I would come back for drinks next time I'm in the area.

We came for an early Valentines because we had childcare the week before. We didn't make a reservation and didn't realize the wait would be that long. Good thing we could be seated immediately at the bar area, which also has tables and chairs and has the full menu and full service. The inside decor is tiki themed which is fun. Although they were busy and the bar was packed, our server was very attentive and friendly. I'm glad we stayed to eat at the bar because food and drinks were delicious and service was great. Food: - Side: famous garlic bread - it was a lot bigger than we expected! It's a full thick loaf and could have been shared with 4-5 people. The topping is unique and tasty. - Appetizer (dinner special): mussels in garlic wine sauce. The sauce was so delicious that we dipped our garlic bread in it. Definitely recommend. It was a great starter that didn't make us overly full. - Entree (dinner special): I had the sea bass with a mushroom cream sauce. This was the only dish that wasn't that great. The fish was dry and hard and the sauce was okay. I chose the side of snap peas and that was delicious! - Entree: my husband had the 16 oz ribeye steak. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. He chose spinach as a side and it was so good. Drinks: - Macademia nut chi chi - so delicious! The macademia nut liqueur was tasty and fragrant. Loved this tropical drink and would get it again for sure. - my husband got a Diet Coke and it was watery the first time. I think their soda machine wasn't working well. Our server brought us another one, which was better but still slightly off.

My family and I came here for an early dinner. The restaurant is spacious and much larger than I expected! There's plenty of seating and a bar section. We came with our little one so we were tucked away in a side booth, which we much preferred so as not to disturb other guests. lol! The staff were all very kind and attentive. They checked in on us regularly. The food isn't something to boast about taste wise but the portions are large! We were pleased w the amount of food we got for the price. I got fish and chips and thought it was easily shareable. My husband got a burger. My kid got tenders and Mac and cheese. Again, the food isn't anything different or new and is more typical of what you'd find at a diner. However, the vibe is fun and everyone was really nice. We went for Mai tai Monday and got drinks! I think it was like $2 off? Parking can be found at the backside of the restaurant for paid parking (shared w Porto's).

This establishment is one of the oldest in Glendale. It has a Polynesian theme and decor. They have a bar but in all honesty it's Diner food. I do not recommend the food at this establishment. There were 4 of us. We ordered 4 different entrees and several appetizers and everything was mediocre at best. The baked potato wasn't even baked well. See the pictures posted. The service was good but not the food.

Was finally able to check out this place in Glendale. There is parking around the back near Porto's. I went with a group of 4 on a Friday night and were able to get a table right away. The special that night was the pot roast and it was so good. They also give you bread and a soup or a salad.

The tiki vibe is great! All the staff were super friendly, and make sure you get there early for the prime rib! We got there too late, but the steaks were still fire. Thanks Rueben for taking care of us and being so nice

Damon is one of my families favorite restaurants that we've been going to for decades. The food is absolutely delicious especially if you come on weekends and can get the prime rib. Service is super friendly and makes the house salad table side. The ambience is really fun and they have a large fish tank which my baby nephew is always obsessed with drinks are good and everything is well priced for the portion sizes. Please give this place a shot if you haven't already!

This spot opened about a year ago, and has a cool speakeasy style entrance at the Highland Park Bowl bowling alley. It is a small space, and I would highly recommend making a reservation on Resy. You have 90 minutes to drink and dine. I parked behind the bowling alley where there is a medium sized pay parking lot. Park in a space, remember your space number painted on the ground, and go to the pay station at the end of the lot. I found the parking machine to be extremely finicky as did other people. After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

Didn't want run of the mill food so opted to try Broken Compass Tiki. When we walked in we were wondering what we were in for. After being taken into the restaurant we both fell in love. The place was so fun, the food was epic and service tremendous. Since our first visit literally 4 months ago, I have taken people 3 different times to this restaurant. I don't live any where near Burbank but in the last few months had the pleasure of being near there and telling friends we had to go! It's so fun to go with first timers. Great vegan options too for my friend who is Vegan and usually gets a salad and fries ha.

    - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

On nights and weekends though, it can still get busy. We ordered a variety of drinks and liked the menta milk punch ($18), last word ($18), and queen's park swizzle ($16). This was my first time here and I would be interested in coming back and also check out the tiki bar too. This is a cool place to go as part of your bar hopping in Old Town Pasadena.

When you enter the 35er, you take the stairs (closer to the back door) and there's a phone booth. Pick up the phone and the bartender will ask how many in your party before letting you in. The space is small. Some reviews mentioned tiki bar and this is not a tiki bar, it's a speakeasy. They have a cocktail menu and a full bar for well/cocktails. Great place for a small group.

It's always a good time here - we've come for trivia night once, group hang outs, etc. They have an upstairs area for larger groups but make sure you call ahead to let them know! Recently we came for lunch on Friday and sat at the bar. Lots of selection for food and drinks. Our bartender/waitress was super attentive and nice. The utensil holder has seasonal specials so don't forget to take a look at those. My partner got the kimchi truffle smash burger w fries and I got the chicken wonton salad. They both came in a timely manner and were filling. My chicken was nice and tender and had a good amount of flavor. We also really liked their beer selection. People next to us ordered cocktails and they all looked divine. We'll definitely be coming back!

Our two servers were fantastic! It was fun talking custom cocktails with one, and food with the other. Both servers, as well as food runners, were ON IT! Very friendly, attentive to each table, and efficient. Our drinks were delicious! The spirits on their shelves are high quality, so drinks were top notch. The bartenders definitely make well balanced, delicious concoctions. And then our food came: Mmm! So many vibrant flavors! Fresh, popping zings of ginger and garlic on the noods, delectable brisket with brightness from the red onion and cilantro wrapped in a comfort blanket of bao, break a sweet sweat from chilis on the spicy tofu noodles, green, bright, and lip smacking umami on the brussels, and bbq perfection on the meat. Everything was taste-bud pleasing in a unique and unexpected ways. Plenary of fans here for the game! Happy Hour after workers, families - everyone welcome. Room at the bar, tables for 2, 4, or 6 - lucky us again - to sit along the large open wall-window that let in the evening breeze. If you want a tiki style cozier vibe, head upstairs to the lift area. Parking is a commodity, and there's no lot here. Street parking in front or on residential side streets. All around great experience! If I were a local, this would definitely be on high rotation!

I was a bit put off that you can not get a receipt without giving your phone number, which I, traveling the world, try to avoid. I hate getting advertising messages while trying to sleep. Sadly, my family situation makes it necessary to keep the phone on my nightstand. Service in the restaurant was almost immaculate. He was extremely friendly and helpful - I just wished he had the decency to let us finish our sentences and not brutally cut into sensible conversations for no reason other than asking if we may refill my water or if we wanted to see the desert menu. We were early - 5pm on a Monday, the place filled up later. There was no pressure, waiting five seconds and not interrupting the customer would have achieved much. $22 for a cocktail during happy hour is a high price. They were sensational though, in every aspect - design, content and presentation. I wish I had photographed all of them, not only mine. We shared the large charcuterie plate which was a blast. A bargain actually. I had not expected this. Steaks were grilled to perfection, sides were great. Sadly, my lobster tail was totally overcooked and cold. I was invited. Everyone had a great time - and I did not want to spoil the occasion. I did not say anything. The free dessert for our "birthday child" - she got 81 - was thoughtful and above all, very very delicious. Sadly, the issues were substantial enough to make the cut the 5 stars to 4. Still I highly recommend the place - if you can spare $500 for four.
