Went here for the 1st time at this location on Tuesday November 25th 2025 with my parents. We were traveling to NY for thanksgiving and stopped here because we wanted our morning coffee and some food. We picked here because we saw a sign for IHOP, and just got off the exit. Was easy to find in relation to I-95. For those unfamiliar with Ihop, it is a chain that mainly serves breakfast, and more recently in the last few years- burgers. They are mainly known for their pancakes, but also have omelets and other items like crepes as well. Anyways, walked in and had to wait for someone to come greet us and sit us somewhere-- before long someone helped us and sat us at a booth. Even asked us what we preferred. Our server then greeted us right away. We ordered 3 coffees as starters. Now, the coffee did take a while to come out- maybe the server was making it. Finally the coffee came out, and definitely needed it! Maybe this is worth mentioning, but sometimes I order coffee out, and feel the need to put sugar in it. No big deal because sugar was full and right on the table- but sometimes coffee needs some sweetening-- and I don't normally use sugar at home. Could just mean that the coffee is different, at least sugar fixes it! For breakfast, I decided on the Chocolate Chocolate Chip pancakes, My dad ordered the Strawberry Pancakes, and my mom ordered the quick breakfast combo. Food came out in a timely manner. I enjoyed the food too. Waitress checked on us and made sure we were happy, and offered coffee refills too. We paid the check via a credit card, and left a cash tip. Highly recommend stopping here. Also used the restrooms on the way out, which were clean. Would stop here again if we are ever in the area. read more

It's been ages since I've been to this ihop. I used to go all the time with my grandparents but my grandfather has been dead 20 years. It was weird going back. The carpets, always sticky with three inches of syrup, are gone. I do like the easier to clean laminate wood floors. You can tell that most of the clientele is older as it was about ten thousand degrees in the restaurant. I find it difficult to eat in that kind of heat, and I was already stripped down to a threadbare t-shirt. Lucky for me, my big breakfast burrito was so horrible that I couldn't eat it anyway. Why on earth is 75% of that burrito hash browns? You get hash browns (or fries) as a side. No one needs that many potatoes for breakfast. It had maybe one sad sausage link, sliced, in it. I struggled to find the eggs, the hollandaise, anything other than dry dry hash browns. Jeremy ate whatever he ordered. His over easy eggs made me wish that I had just gotten my own eggs and left it at that. We dined with two friends. D did not finish her breakfast tacos, or pancakes. I'm not sure if she took them home and fixed them up like I did with my order. AM was pretty stoked with her cinnamon stuffed French toast. That looked good but simultaneously like way too much sweet for one meal. Really good hot chocolate, though. Tasted exactly how I remembered from two decades ago. read more

I have had this IHOPs food a few times. Unfortunately I can't give a review on the food because (I'll be so generous) for about 15 minutes we sat with passing glances at us without acknowledging mine and my partner's presence. Manager sat there and didn't help the server and when someone walked in they were helped them before us. A very infuriating experience overall because we left without being serviced even once. So I could not give you a good in depth review. Will not be going back anytime soon. read more

The restaurant itself looked like it needed a deep cleaning. The server was friendly and can to take our order promptly. I had to ask the server to reheat my food in the microwave. It wasn't hot and I didn't want to take the time waiting for them to remake it. You could see orders sitting on the shelf at the kitchen. I suspect the expediter was moving quickly enough. They seemed nice but I have been to many other IHOP's that make and serve the food properly and promptly. read more

There was a time that one of the waitresses told me I did not tell her something about my order, and instead of her maybe saying my apologies I did not here you, she proceeds to "say no you didn't but that okay". When you're on the highway anxious to make time, you assume that restaurants noted at the exits are right there. You would be wrong. So we traveled a bit off the beaten path to get to IHOP, and after my initial grumbling I decided to go with the flow and enjoy breakfast. Now, my idea of breakfast is broader than bacon and eggs. I ordered a sandwich. And I saw that my choice of sides included pancakes, which seemed like a good option. Our waitress -- a very nice person -- laughed at my order. But then, so did I. There's not much variation in chains like IHOP. This one was perfectly fine: clean, decent food, non-sticky syrup dispensers, and a number of regular patrons. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars for customer service I would. I called 22 times to place my order and no answer starting 2 minutes before opening. No manager in the restaurant and the restaurant opens at 7am. This is late for an IHOP to open. There was a new host who couldn't answer phones she looked so lost. The server on the floor was running the whole restaurant herself which didn't make any sense. I I bet this location is only paying the server minimum wage for doing a host job, manager's job, and her own. On top of it what I came here for they didn't have which was turkey sausage patties with my food. I still order, but I hop never to return to this location. Visitors from LA, passers by from Washington DC on our way back to our hotel in NYC and we decided to grab some dinner before sitting out the rest of the trip. Literally EVERY time I order online from this location the order is wrong or something is missing. We ordered for Mother's Day and the breakfast meant to be for me (the mother of the family) was completely wrong. I called to report it, and the operator put me on hold and eventually disconnected. I gave up calling back...I'm tired of reporting wrong orders. I'll just stop ordering online and recommend that everyone else do the same. In person service has always been pretty good. I've been here a few times. Who doesn't like pancakes? Simple, delicious and COLD! See my picture...the butter needed motivation to melt...lol! This location is small and has lengthy wait times during peak hours...organized confusion. Decent service, can't say is is superb...average. The owners really need to stop being cheap and repave the parking lot. Pot holes as big as Texas. The tables are clean and the restrooms are fine. I don't stray too far from the norm at IHOP. We usually get the Breakfast Sampler or Split Decision. Recently, I started getting just a short stack and bacon. My fried eggs have a weird taste and the home fries aren't cooked thoroughly. Why waste food and money? The silverware needs to be inspected for cleanliness...or lack thereof. It's IHOP get the pancakes, anything more is questionable. read more

Military Discount: 10% (on whole check) Alrighty now!!! I am overjoyed at the thought we have another all day long breakfast place to enjoy!!! When I moved here I was so disappointed to see the empty and abandoned traditional A-frame I-Hop building, it stood empty for many many years. But then miraculously about 6 months ago I noticed that the building was being remodeled and getting ready for occupancy. I was so delighted to see that I-Hop was moving back in... Oh Yum!!!! I love their pancakes!!! They are so good. Okay so I-Hop is another chain restaurant, but because of what they serve, it is their individual kitchen fast order chefs that either make or break each place. Over cooked or over beaten pancakes are junk, so I am very happy to report this is not the case here!!! I had one of I-Hop's new Hashbrown Stackers...OMG comfort food heaven right here in Edgewood... it is hard to believe, but it's true! I ordered the Cheedar Bacon (Yum !!!) Stacker, and asked them to substitute the medium fried egg with Hollendaise sauce with scambled eggs. I added a side order of.... you guessed it... B A C O N, OMG!!! Yum YUM Y U M!!! That and a bottomless cup of joe. As a grad student, you know I can appreciate the bottomless cup of Joe, especially when it is good, and it is. The coffee is no Starbucks or Panera's, but just plain good ole coffee, that has a nice flavor. Oh, and did I mention, it was bottomless too!!! My Short stake (2) of pancakes came out first, pipe'n hot and with a scoop of "REAL BUTTER"... (don't you hate it when someplace places margerine on your food...ewww!). Those pancakes were heavenly, not tough, not chew, tender and yum!!! Real Butter, and some syrup... oh man what nice start!! Then my Stacker came out.... OMG the BACON (YUM!!!), 4 full slices surrounding this mountain of crispy hashbrown potato, with sliced tomato and melty cheedar cheese and lots of chopped up B A C O N!!!! Oh, YES!!! there had to be at least 4 more sliced of that lovely pig all chopped up and scattered all over my cheesy hash browns and then covered with my scrambled eggs (perfectly cooked, tender, not rubbery). Okay, calling all you military guys and gals, please take note, if you ask for a Military Discount, you will be rewarded for your service!!! All told breakfast cost be about $11 with my tip for a wonderful waitress, who filled my coffee flask twice (about 36 oz of liquid caffeine). I just had a horrible experience with this IHOP. I ordered two steak omelettes one without mushrooms due to a food allergy. The waiter came to let me know the omelette that had the toothpick in it was the one without mushrooms and even took it a step to write it on the receipt. When I got home I seen the one with the toothpick as mentioned that it will be the one without mushrooms and immediately bit into a mushroom. I called the store to make them aware of the issue since they had messed the order up and I instantly starting getting an allergic reaction. Not to mention they didn't even put the salsa that comes with the omelette in the bag and that's the best part. When I talked to the manager who refused to give me his first name he said that we in fact were to blame for eating the wrong omelette when his staff wrote it on a piece of paper which one had no mushrooms. We then only asked for a refund or credit on that one omelette and he said he would but we would have to bring the food back. Being that we do not live close this was not an option. We shouldn't have to waist gas during a gas shortage to drive back which isn't close because the store messed up the food. This manager who refused to give me his name had no care that I had experienced a reaction from the mushrooms and just kept asking we drive the food back in order for a refund or credit. When I asked could I get his name because at this point I am going to call the store manager he refused to give me the information. I didn't ask for anything unreasonable and it's a shame to get treated this way after spending your hard earned money. The pancakes was cold and food was incorrectly made and they didn't care to satisfy the customer. Customer service is rated at a 2 here. This IHOP was amazing. The food was amazing and the service was on point! Very attentive and good in high demand customers. It was busy but we got seated quickly and waited for our food for about 20 minutes which isn't too bad. It's one of the best IHop's I've been to. Update: I called in an order (which no one repeated to me and rushed me off the phone) and after picking it up and taking it home, half of it was wrong. When I called to talk to someone about it, they were upset with me because they messed my order up. I went back and got a little sass about the situation but eventually got it handled. Had a gift card from Christmas to use here so decided to order a carryout breakfast today. Called and a lady answered only to immediately put me on hold. Never picked me back up after almost 10 mins. I finally hung up and tried to call back to find the phone was left off the hook. Irritated, I drove to the restaurant to place my order in person. The young man at the host podium could not have been nicer. Showed genuine empathy for the way I was treated. The manager asked me how I was doing and I explained why I was not doing so well. He handed me a 20% off next visit coupon and apologized. My food was ready lightning quick a nd I drove home to eat it. Wow...It was delicious! Hashbrowns were awesome as well as the crispy bacon. Overall food was delicious, with just a hiccup in service which they addressed. I'll be back. Call ahead if you're interested in the All You Can Eat Shrimp. This time around they won't have any shrimp until Thursday. Disappointing. Pancakes were crunchy, steak was tough(had the steak omelette) and the waiter was not very attentive. They need to revamp this location with a more inviting staff. read more

It's an Ihop. My ratings are solely based on ihop experiences in the past. It's clean, the service is average. Not a fan of the wet wipe down on tables so you have to dry them with your napkin when you arrive at the table. There seemed to be a manager type guy walking around giving orders to his staff, and pointing at tables to go clean while he chomped on gum with his mouth open. As a server in a previous life, this annoyed me. Maybe he's a nice guy. At least it showed a manager who was involved and concerned. I can't get excited about pancakes that have no real syrup...just flavored sugars. As a kid, I loved these - now my palette has gone to pure maple. I still like that blueberry syrup tho! (shhh!) I haven't been to an IHop in a long time so we decided to try this one out. I signed up for their birthday club and got free pancakes. My pancakes were filling but I was kind of surprised by the portion size, I recall the pancakes being a lot larger. I am not a huge eater but someone who can really chow down would not have been satisfied with just the pancakes. My husband got an omelette which was huge AND came with a side of 2 pancakes, only for a couple dollars more than what I paid for just pancakes. I also got a pancake for my daughter. It looked good, bananas for a smile, strawberries for eyes and a yogurt for you to decorate the hair. My daughter seemed to like it. So with all that said, we really enjoyed our meals and the service was good too. I do have one complaint and that is just with the cleanliness. Our table was dirty, pieces of food and sticky rings on the surface. The bathroom was kind of icky with some gross stuff smeared on the stall walls. Yuck! We will probably go back since the food and service was good. Hopefully they were just having an off day with the table and bathroom wall. read more

We were so glad to see this location reopen after being closed for 12 years. As expected, the breakfast food is very good. The steak tip and salsa omelet is great. Surprisingly, the other dinner menu items that we have tried were also very good. Be adventurous and take an extra trip to try one of the dinners like the sour beef. I commend the franchise owner for taking the time to hire a very friendly and attentive management staff who take time to visit most tables ensuring that everyone is happy and assisting with clearing empty plates. I always had a certain fondness for IHOP since my childhood (50 years ago). This location broke me of not only that fondness, but of ever eating there again. How did they manage to do this? Let me outline everything in chronological order from the point where we walked in the door. * Waiting area was overflowing, yet over half the booths in the place were empty. * Registered immediately, yet another party of the same size that came in 10 minutes later was taken before us. * Waitress was nice, but slow, inattentive and defensive of any errors on her part. * Found the Sweat Cream Fruit and Streusel crepes, advertised as two small crepes on the menu is actually one small crepe with sauce on only one third of it. * Found that for the same price, two crepes have become one, three crepes have become two, etc. Prices the same but portions are now a lot smaller. * Did find a little extra in my meal, egg shell in the hash browns and sausage. * "Limitless" drinks are actually limited to the few times you can either flag down a waitress, or get it yourself. * Bait and switch! Got bill for $36 dollars that magically increased to $60 dollars when it came time for me to sign it. I should have known when an ambulance pulled up to wheel out a patron on a gurney that this was a definite sign of trouble. Talked to the manager who did not care about any of the horrendous transgressions perpetrated upon myself, my family or other clientele. Gordon Ramsey couldn't save this place without burning to the ground first. I am going to think long and hard before I ever consider eating at another IHOP again, and it definitely won't be the one in Edgewood, that's for sure! read more
