    Dessert always amazing.

The food is always tasty. Love their blackened chicken Caesar salad with fresh rolls. The service is excellent and the ambiance never changes. And the soups are delicious.

    Tasty tropical cocktail!

Soooo, I saw a foodie make a post about Venetian on social media very recently. Right before that, there was a sponsored post that featured the stuffed flounder plate and I was highly intrigued! After driving around downtown on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon, I was hungry! I didn't know where to go and then I remembered Venetian! I hopped on the 95 and drove all the way up to Edgewood. I passed this restaurant NUMEROUS times before!!! The outside of the restaurant is quite inconspicuous. Like, you know it's there, but if you didn't know how awesome the food, service and ambience is inside, you would never think to go! Anyhoo, when I arrived around 4pm, the dinner crowd was there. The parking lot was full, but I parked in front of the restaurant, just above the lot (one would probably say I parked on the thrift store's lot, but it's so close to the restaurant that it could be up for debate). The inside was very busy at the time. It was my first time there, so there was a slightly awkward moment where I looked around to see who would sit me or where I should stand to be seen. But a very nice waiter took care of me. He sat down and gave me a menu. It didn't take long for me to decide on what I wanted. I had my eye on the stuffed salmon (and I was not disappointed in my decision!). As I waited for my dinner to be prepared, I sipped on a very tasty (and strong) cocktail. Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture of the menus and the drink menu isn't yet featured on the website or Yelp. It was a tropical beverage with lime, pineapple and coconut, I believe! It was refreshing, fruity, and sweet. They have a variety of cocktails, wines, juices and sodas, so there's a concoction for just about anyone! When my dinner arrived to the table, I was SO excited! Boy, oh boy, everything was soooooo delicious! The salmon was tender and absolutely delectable with the fresh crab meat on top. The butter sauce that was drizzled on the dish was light and tasty. My rice was parboiled and paired very well with the salmon. The waiter suggested the spinach and I'm so glad I went with his suggestion. It was very deliciously seasoned. The meal comes with a lemon wedge, and it was the perfect spring of flavor that just took everything to the next level. For desert (unfortunately I ate it without taking a photo), I had the strawberry shortcake with cheesecake in the middle. It was okaaaaay, but nothing super duper special. I would love to come back to try the other featured desserts, because they ALL looked really good (especially the pistachio cake). All in all, I cannot wait to come back to try the other offerings at The Venetian. Honestly, I just may get the same dish I had on this visit, but you never know! 5 stars across the board!

Venetian is hit or miss. Large groups expect a wait for food, even when they aren't busy. Breakfast and lunch have been my favorite so dar

The food was tasty, the service was polite, professional but not too attentive. The decor was nice , clean , and did not look dated.

Wow, what a menu. Breakfast all day? Nice! Pasta, salads, wraps, burgers, wings, and pretty much anything you could possibly crave... a great selection of cocktails, wines and (I suppose) beers (I don't know anything about beer. Vodka is my alcohol of choice). Great portions, and delicious. It's not a surprise that my mother said, "Well have to come back here." But this time I actually agree. I need to go back. Amazing breadsticks with marinara dipping sauce came to our table while we were waiting for our order to be prepared. How dare the Universe tempt us - we JUST started to change our diet away from carbs and we were just too weak to resist!! I could have eaten the whole basket, but I did stop at one. For entrees my boyfriend had the Caesar Salad with blackened shrimp (The dressing and cheese create a perfectly salty accompaniment to the wonderfully crisp lettuce. The shrimp were okay. Personally I wouldn't have bothered, but my boyfriend enjoy them.) and a cheesesteak sandwich (Super Super Cheese Steak - Chicken or Beef. Double the Meat! $13.99) with ChezWiz and grilled onions. He loved the roll, which seemed lightly toasted. My mother had the Gamberetti wrap (Shrimp salad, romaine, tomato, scallions, melted provolone on grilled pita with creamy sriracha aioli. $13.99). She's a newfound love of sriracha, which is interesting because she spent most of her life avoiding spicy foods, but NOW she's starting to explore hot sauces. Usually that goes the other way, with people cutting back on the spicy as they age. She enjoyed the wrap. I had the Sando Olga (Blackened grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, fried eggplant, roasted peppers, arugula, honey dijon, rosemary schiacciata on Tuscan flatbread). It was INCREDIBLE. The way the sweetness of the roasted peppers mixed with the dijon and eggplant was a delight. And you can't go wrong with fresh mozzarella (an unexpected cheese pull halfway through the sandwich was a great surprise). It was a HUGE and filling sandwich. The restaurant was fairly empty for lunch. Food Network was on the TV and kept my mother occupied. I could have done without Guy Feiri grinning down at me, but I realize most people don't harbor the same level of distaste for him as I do. There's a run-off parking lot, which would suggest that it can get busy for dinner. I RECOMMEND

Venetian restaurant was a delightful surprise. The food was good. My wife got the Cream of Crab soup and thought it was good. I got the linguine so Frutti do Mare and was pleased. The service was done well and the ambience was casual. Would go back again.

Overall Average: 2.5 (food service ambiance) Price: 1 (too high for bland breakfast) Auto-gratuity added for one person: 1 (auto gratuity is never ok when it's only one person ) I'd passed by this place hundreds of times and just never stopped in. Yelp advised they had breakfast all day Basic restaurant w four seater tables and some half-booth-half chair seats. Also has a bar and apparently is open to 3a every day Mid mornin on a Wednesday, no other patrons but myself; Was seated and served immediately. Lots on the menu, the Yelp pictures of the mini waffles looked appetizing so I ordered banana mini waffles, eggs and turkey bacon, and water no ice Presentation was nice, the waffles had fresh strawberries and blueberries. Bonus point The menu says banana and berry waffles: I expected a banana waffle (banana IN the batter) w fruit atop. Instead it was an original waffle-ZERO flavoring in the batter: No vanilla no sugar no banana no nothing. Just bland waffle mix. (LOSE POINTS) (I don't know what's in a WH waffle, but it's not bland and flavorless ) The fruit seemed fresh, so a disappointment it lay atop flavorless waffles Nothing special about the scrambled egg-good nor bad...lay flat aside the waffles And surprisingly I got 6 well cooked and not hard turkey bacon..seemed it might have been uncured: bonus points Syrup came in packet-small tub, vs being able to pour it over. Thus no way to warm (always an option at ihop). Loses points for packet syrup I thought I was ordering ala cart.. $16 waffles $5bacon $4eggs So was surprised & impressed when I got 6slices of bacon When the bill came, it said I'd ordered 2x meat, and when I asked, I was told they turned my "ala cart" order into a platter to save me money, and a platter comes w 2 meats. Not sure why I wasn't told this while placing my order, for I might have actually chosen TWO meats rather than it be assumed I wanted double bacon I should have, but didn't, look closer to the bill. Instead of the $20 platter cost, I was actually charged $24. They charged $4 for the sliced banana/strawberry/blueberries So turning it into a platter "saved" me a $1 and doubled my meat (bonus pts), but without letting me know I had an option for two different meats (lose points) PLUS they added 15% gratuity! For ONE person at breakfast! I was not given an option it was auto added in! LOSE MAJOR POINTS Thus my bill was nearly $30 for bland waffles, fresh fruit, more bacon than I asked for, and water-I didn't even get coffee In hindsight, the menu seems to be pricey...and perhaps the other items might be worth it...but I can't advise paying $30 for what I got Not sure I'll be returning due to unremarkable breakfast, price, and auto gratuity for a single patron

Tempting desserts. Had a great meal.

Box Hill is officially in my top 3 of best crab cakes in the area. I just need to go back to Koco's and see which one is my official number 1. For those that are curious, I'm comparing Box Hill to Koco's in Baltimore and Pappas in Glen Burnie. If you're from the area you know exactly what I'm talking about. So of course we had to order the pizza. The pizza... Wow. We had the Boxhill deluxe which was everything on the pizza. Ingredients from the meats to the cheese were so fresh. The sauce was perfect for the toppings, and the CRUST... perfect amount of crust and not too thick. I never had New England pizza and never knew what it was till now. Real game changer. I decided to also order the crab BLT. WOW... Each bite I took, lumps of crab meat just kept falling out the sandwich. So in order from last to first. 3. Pappas 2. Koco's 1. Boxhill? However, the Dynamite Shrimp felt like an attempted knockoff of a well-known "...Grill" version and didn't quite measure up. As someone who considers myself an Italian food connoisseur, I truly love Italian cuisine, I was especially disappointed in the chicken parmigiana. It was dry, flavorless, and completely covered in a red sauce that was overly tangy and not very enjoyable. In my opinion, the dish was under-seasoned and lacked balance. Even the complimentary bread was underwhelming and not very tasty. Service was mixed. Our main waiter was pleasant and attentive. Unfortunately, his backup was rude and pushy. When I was asking questions about a menu item, she attempted to take the menu out of my hands before I had finished. I felt rushed and unheard, which was frustrating. Overall, I left hungry and disappointed, especially given that Italian cuisine is usually my favorite.

We never had an empty water or had to ask twice for anything. We started with the mozzarella logs, which were fresh, crispy, and delicious. The spaghetti egg rolls were a fun and unexpected twist, super filling and packed with interesting flavors. The pizza was solid, though cooked a bit more than I usually prefer. The fra diavola had a nice kick and came in a generous portion. The build-your-own pasta bowl was enormous, overflowing with pasta and all the toppings we picked. I also tried the short rib dish. It was good, but at $30, I'm still deciding if it was worth it. It arrived lukewarm, so I'll reheat the leftovers and see how it holds up. Dessert was fun: the homemade chip-witch! Warm cookies that tasted way better than they looked , with melty homemade ice cream in between. A perfect finish which we split 4 ways. It is much smaller than I expected inside. I would make a reservation on weekends during busy hours just to be safe. We walked in at 8p on a Saturday and had our pick of a table. Overall, the service made the night, and the menu had some satisfying options. I wanted to love it but it was just ok overall.
