The service is always great and the food delicious! The music and energy Is relaxing....But they need to reassess their service pet policy. They did ask if the dog was a service animal (great start), but then proceeded to try to sit us outside. When we asked to sit inside, they sat us in the inside/outside hallway on the side of the building with MANY people constantly walking past- stating they have to abide by their pet policy. We chose to accept the table as this is a constant battle with restaurants, but with the amount of traffic passing the table, it was definitely more distressing to the handler. A service animal is not a dog and is actively working to help the handler. Please review the ADA policy and educate your staff. Again, food great and our waitress was ah-mazing! read more

This place is great with normally plenty of seating and the food, especially breakfast and brunch have a twist. The twist is a creative flavor and offerings unlike most brunch spots. Although today our server seemed to be rushing and surfing his phone but our attention was average although my coffee cup went silent twice. My wife got some gigantic flavored blueberry cold brew. She had the prime rib omelette which was enormous so consider splitting. I chose the San Francisco Benny that had an array of flavor that I selfishly ate all of it. Really good! Love the menu. A decent mix of plant based items on all lunch, dinner and brunch. We went there for dinner. I had the teriyaki salmon bowl, came with grilled asparagus, a good portion of cauliflower rice and salmon. It came with corn salsa, something was really off about the salsa so had them remove it. They made a fresh salsa for me. My husband had fried steak and eggs. He said it was good. The service was good too. It's a cozy little place, it was pretty crowded for a week night. The highlight of the meal was the side salad with fresh greens and feta cheese. The dressing on the side had cream and a little seasoning in vinegar. For the main entree, the mousaka felt heavy and had a salted flavor. The layers of eggplant, meat, and potatoes blended together instead of each one standing out individually. The tomato paste sauce on the plate helped little to break it up. When eaten alone, the eggplant was sweet and an appropriate texture. Separating out the potatoes or beef didn't improve them or the dish. The meat loaf my cousin had was lighter on salt, but still average. read more

So done coming here. The service is TERRIBLE. Waiter never came to check on us, forgot my husband's beer, forgot to give the kids their cookies with their meals, neglected to tell me of the $8 upcharge for a side salad with my sandwich instead chips. Never came back to take our payment so we had to go up to the counter ourselves. The Scottsdale Turkey sandwich I was got was gross...overpowered by horseradish...I don't even remember that being listed on the menu description, but I can't do my research because the online menu isn't updated. My friend got the bulgolgi beef which is supposed to be steak tips, but it was very clearly just left over pot roast. This isn't the only time service has been bad and food bad. Someone needs to train these kids better and get a better chef. The only saving grace is the cakes. read more

Everyone has been raving about the Sunshine Grille, so we decided to go and try it out. We made a reservation for 1:00 PM on a Saturday and requested a quiet table. The restaurant was full with a lively vibe. My daughter arrived first and secured the quietest table she could find. Katie, our server, was friendly and attentive. The menu is very extensive. You can order from the breakfast/lunch menu until 3:30 PM. My husband ordered the Pancake Platter that came with 3 of the fluffiest buttermilk pancakes served with 2 eggs and a mountain of applewood bacon (check out the pictures). He was so impressed. My daughter was interested in trying the Ultimate Quesadilla with corn salsa, house cheese blend, & grilled steak between 2 flour tortillas served with sour cream and chunky salsa with parmesan truffle fries. I could not resist trying the Country Fried Steak and Egg Platter. Oh my, it was huge. The country fried steak was a large portion of steak covered in sausage gravy & cheddar cheese along with 2 sunny side up eggs cooked perfectly and 4 small fried green tomatoes and 2 pieces of white toast. We all enjoyed fresh, brewed coffee. I have to say we were extremely impressed with the service and the food. Everything was delicious. My only complaint would be the noise level. As usual, the food is outstanding. However, I recently had dinner there and found several pieces of plastic in my food. Three or four pieces ranging from 1/2 inch to a full inch. I brought this to our server's attention, and she simply said "sorry" with an attitude, as if to say, "There's nothing I can do about it." I am not a complainer, so I didn't pull out a "Karen" card and "ask to speak to the manager," but that's something the waitress should have done. BUT my order was served without all of the items listed and with no warning that they were out of some of the items, no substitutes were available and no price adjustment was offered. However, as I started to eat the vegan hoagie, I discovered that they chef didn't now how to cook the plant based chicken and it was just warmed. Not pleasant at all. Sunshine Grille is a great local eatery. I have to visit this restaurant when I visit the Glen Arm, Maryland area. I especially love the homemade menu items. Their desserts are EVERYTHING! I especially enjoy the Oreo Cheesecake and the German Chocolate Cake. I have never been disappointed when trying a new dessert flavor or menu items. One slice of cake takes me two to three days to eat. The ambience of the restaurant is relaxed and family friendly. It is immediately apparent that this place is a favorite of the locals. Very friendly staff and owners! We ordered Churrasco Grille steak for my daughter which was superb! Only she asked for rare and it was pretty much well done. Nevertheless, it was very tender . It came with maple braised Brussels sprouts and fries. I ordered Mississippi catfish that came in soft shell taco version which was unique I think and it was served with sweet potato fries and cinnamon butter on the side to dip into. I visited with two buddies during an incredibly busy Friday lunch rush. I'm sure this a consistent pattern for SG. We were seated after a quick ten minute wait, and Whaddya know? We saw people we knew and said howdy do! I knew what I wanted even before I saw the menu. I wanted the Cadillac! With gyro meat. This is where the inconsistency comes in: third visit and the third iteration of this classic item. Better than the first. As excellent as the second but each plated differently! Fun! In a good way which works well with family owned businesses. This time the item stood out with a dollop of tzatziki in a portion cup. That addition alone made this the best of all three Cadillacs! I added fries which were excellent as well. My buddies ordered Gyros and Quesadillas. We left full and happy. TSG is an EXCELLENT value proposition for your hard earned drachmas. We had been told by many people to try this place out. If I was judging them on service alone, I might give a lower score. They put us all alone in a back section, and then we didn't see another person for at least 20 minutes. But once they remembered we were there, things were good. Finally got the chance to try sunshine grille! We came on a Sunday morning around 9:30, and for 4 people there was a 20 minute wait. It was pretty crowded! Service was a tad slow which is understandable given the crowd. I ordered the monte cristo and a side of home fries (bc carbs don't count on Sunday's, right??). I enjoyed the food and I thought everyone else that people ordered at my table looked really good too (breakfast sammie, salmon avocado toast, breakfast flatbread). My wife and I love this restaurant. However, we stopped going once we consistently saw the manager in the front making all the salads with no gloves on his hamds. We went in again tonight for a pickup and again, he's at the front making the salad with his hands, no gloves, touching everything around him and returning back to making the salad! I Just took my salad home and washed it all again! It should be mandatory that anyone who handles food at restaurants wear gloves. This just ruins my appetite! So many choices. So many desserts. Warm and charming atmosphere. This is what pretty much summed up the experience here at Sunshine Grille. My family was celebrating my grandmother's birthday and knowing that she enjoyed breakfast and brunch, we found Sunshine here, on Yelp. The pictures of the different dishes looked good, and it surprisingly wasn't far from my home. The restaurant sits off the road, right on Sunshine Avenue, so it wasn't hard to miss. The restaurant has its own parking lot. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday. It was a nice & quiet crowd, with families eating and enjoying each other's company. As we settled, I looked around and everyone looked satisfied. The decor was cute and cozy, with decorative sun fixtures all around. The restaurant opens fairly early and closes late, so if you have a breakfast craving even in the evening, Sunshine will take care of you! My two aunts got the Country Skillet. It had all the meats you could think of and eggs cooked to your liking. It was enough for two, maybe even three servings! It looked so tasty and they both enjoyed their plates. My mom chose the French Toast with sides of bacon, scrapple, and home fries. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal. The home fries are SO GOOD! You literally do not need any extra salt or pepper. They are seasoned to perfection. My grandmom chose the Country Fried Benny. This consisted of two thinly fried chicken breasts laid on a HUGE split biscuit with country gravy and cheddar cheese. It looked really good. My aunt added a biscuit to her meal and she went on about how tasty the biscuit was. I decided upon the Fat Tuesday Omelette. Shrimp, chorizo hash, red peppers, Gouda and Muenster cheeses, and marinara sauce with a bit of crab meat in top! Whoo! This was a very tasty omelette! The flavors paired very well together, for sure. It came with toast and a side of potatoes. Let's just say that I devoured everything on my plate except the toast! Caesar, our waiter, was very nice and he was knowledgeable about the menu. He even gifted my grandmother a birthday slice of apple cake for her birthday! Everyone that worked there seemed like a close family. The desserts all looked SOOOO GOOD and tempting!!! I cannot believe I managed to walk away without buying a slice of...something! I totally regretted it after I left, but promised myself that I would get a sweet treat the next time I went. They offered the most decadent slices of cheesecake I've seen in a long time. I had to mention the bathrooms. There are two bathrooms, both gender neutral. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. If I take a picture in the bathroom, that means it's clean enough for me to feel comfortable to do that, lol! For a party of five, our bill came to a little over one hundred dollars, not including tip. That was pretty good, totaling up to around twenty dollars per person. The only downside for the guest I met was getting a skillet that didn't have eggs... waitress said you had to ask for that.
