Today is my Grandson birthday and he wanted to have breakfast at IHOP in Apex, NC. Well, I went in the woman's bathroom and a male employee was coming out of the handicap stall. He lingered. I was uncomfortable but used the bathroom anyway, assuming he may have been cleaning. There was no cleaning sign up or door open so little girls know not to go in. It was very weird and I was extremely uncomfortable. The thought of a little girl going in that bathroom with a man inside makes me extremely nervous. Delicious! As I write this review, I am sitting in my car eating the mouthwatering milk & cookies pancakes and avocado toast. IHOP offers a great selection of breakfast foods and numerous tempting pancake creations. I chose their seasonal offering and was not disappointed. The pancakes definitely imitate milk and cookies and just melt in your mouth. I also really enjoyed the avocado toast. Their bread choice was optimal since it wasn't overwhelming. The eggs were cooked sunny side up as requested and the avocado was just a tad underripe (my preference). Overall, the brunch meal was filling, flavorful, and affordable. Go here people. They are open for business during the COVID-19. They have curbside set up. You can call your order in and they come out to your car for payment and bring your order. This means a lot nowadays. Once I get home I put my takeout in the microwave for about 20 seconds just to maybe kill any germs. Another way to feel safe. read more

Went to IHOP for the first time today. Cleanliness: The seats were wet and not wiped down properly -- especially unfortunate during corona. Face masks were required for entry. How am I supposed to eat with a face mask?! I wasted a face mask for 11 seconds of use, (I counted.) They charge extra if you have gluten allergies, so much for social responsibility. Some of the ceiling tiles had mold, and dead bugs were on the window sills. The syrup was unrefrigerated and sour. Service: Service was slow, but the server was nice. People were nice, held the door and everything. Just gave me a receipt, no booklet for the check. I felt like I was rushed in and out. Food: The food was sub-standard; it's overpriced for a glorified fast food restaurant. The syrup was bad, just bad. It was unrefrigerated, tasted like water (try it to believe it,) and had a sour aftertaste. The bacon portion was small, and it was rock solid. The hash brown was nothing more than shredded potatoes. The ham looked like it was just warmed up from the supermarket, but tasted good. Sausage was good as well, but you can't really mess up on that. The canned whipped cream separated when dressing the pancake with the 'water' syrup. Conclusion: You're better off going to Waffle House and saving some money. If you prefer non-GMO foods, or food not sourced by PFG (incidentally, sued by EEOC for refusing to hire women for operative positions over at least the last decade or so), then IHOP is not for you. If you don't care where the food comes from, you can get a super sweet donut with a creamy filling that masquerades as fancy stuffed French toast. Again, don't ask where the food comes from because you may not like the reason you can have eggs, sausage, and home fries with your donut-like French toast for less than $9. Clean, convenient, and relatively inexpensive. It's a good option if it's the only one. read more

Not only did they leave off the normal amount completely, they then lied to my face and Saud they added double inside which was obviously not true. Then when the server returned with the tiny ketchup cups of queso, they were ice cold. I guess the moral of the story is you better order what the terrible cooks in the kitchen want you to order or else you will get crap instead. Also my gravy came out in a melted plastic container because obviously masking the fact that they are using pre-made cold stored products that are microwaved prior to serving is just a bit too difficult of a hurdle to cross.Not the best way to run a business. I signed up for their rewards program and got a free Rootie Tootie Fresh & Fruity stack of flapjacks just being being a good dude. I printed the coupon and dropped by on a gloomy Saturday morning. It was an absolute madhouse and I signed up for the 10 minute wait for 1. After 20 minutes, I split and decided on another day. There's a tip for you - if you go there on a weekend morning, you've got a mess on your hands. Just the tip. SO, I dropped in Monday morning around 10am and shared the whole place with about 13 other tables. I presented my coupon and ordered the Cinnamon Apple pancakes. I posted a pic - for free food, this was a real winner of a deal. Nice and fluff, and very delicious. And I don't even put IHOP on my top list of good pancakes places. Weird, right? Sunny in some areas, ample parking unless it's packed, roomy booths (big folks will appreciate that) and good enough service. With a bunch of breakfast places opening up left and right, IHOP is a restaurant that maybe overlooked. I visited the Apex location last week and had a pleasant experience. The menu has traditional breakfast combinations including a lunch & dinner menu. There is a kid menu and a reduced priced menu for senior citizens. What I enjoy the most about IHOP is the seasonal menu. Every season they incorporate new flavor combinations for a limited time. Right now they have special grinch pancakes for the holidays. On our visit, we came with someone who had dietary restrictions. We kindly let the waitress know and she was able to recommend items on the menu as well as tweak the plate ordered. Our waitress was attentive and super friendly. We loved the service we received during our visit. We cant wait to come back again. read more

She checked in on me and I did not have to ask or look for her. The management team also spoke and stopped by to check that all was well. Update: after reporting the incident to corporate, the GM contacted me and compensation was made. They will be retraining staff. Imagine a server yelling at you, across the whole front of the waiting area.."HEY, DID YOU EVEN PAY?" as you leave a resturant... in front of other patrons in your hometown....yep, read on. We called ahead for a party of 15 and chose a time when there wouldnt be many eating. Our 3 year old had chosen iHop as their birthday dinner. Despite only 5 other tables, they gave us a single server (Michael)who was completely inept and overwhelmed. We kept our orders super simple knowing he was overwhelmed. He only placed half the orders leaving 7 people waiting more than 20 minutes after the first group got their food. The 3 year old never got hers at all...he forgot that order too. He never refilled drinks or apologized. At the 2 hour mark, we were still waiting on our checks. He then asked everyone to repeat their orders to make the bills. 20 minutes later, we STILL had no bills. I went and found the manager, Gracie. She first offered to comp the 2 kids meals...except kids eat free from every night. Calling her on the slight of hand she offers to take 20%off the bill. We are now there 2.5 hours and the kids were not going to get cake and presents because we are past their bedtime. I finally pay everyone's check (167.89) just to facilitate and expedite getting out of there. I even leave a $10 totally undeserved tip because no one should work for free. That's when Michael yelled at me, across a resturant with patrons waiting to be seated...HEY, DID YOU PAY?? I was mortified. I stormed out only to realize when I got to my car that I was never given a copy of the bill. I return and ask the manager for a copy of the bill. She gives it to me and says, "I already called the general manager." Its a Sunday night at 9 pm....unless he has a cot in the back, the 4 minutes I was gone wasnt enough time...so Gracie lied to me ontop everything else. No apology, nothing...just lies and embarrassment. The food was good (1 star for that)but the trip was ruined on every other front. I was going to this place three times a week for at least three years.It was great. the last couple months it's been terrible. I stand at the door waiting. No one helps. They mess the orders up. There's a manager I don't know her name, but she was arguing with me about what I ordered last night. We were seated right away but had to wait over 20 minutes for ANYONE to come to the table to take our order. Not so much as coffee or utensils! My wife flagged down the manager who said someone would take our order. Then 10 more minutes. It is understandable that there is a labor shortage, but at least 5 other tables that were seated after us were served before us. Definitely not recommended. read more
