This is the second time I have iHalo Crunch so I guessed I really enjoyed my first experience down at Queen Street pop up. There were a few people in line but the line moved fast even on a Sunday afternoon. I did want to order a twist but sadly they were out of coconut so I settled on just the ube in a cone. For $7, it might sounded pricey but the portion is fair. I do love ube! I am happy that iHalo Crunch decided to set up an outlet in Vaughan Mills. Soft serve ice cream while taking a break from walking around this massive mall definitely is a treat!

Disclaimer: I returned to iHaloKrunch this visit because I won an Instagram giveaway, so I came to claim my prize since I was going to Vaughan Mills to shop anyways. This is now my third visit to iHaloKrunch (the same location as well) and so I decided to try another flavor - UBE ALL THE WAY! They describe this as being "similar to taro" and it's actually made with purple yam. I was actually glad that the taste wasn't too strong of a taro-flavor since I'm not too big on that. This one was definitely sweeter than the Orna-mint cone I had on my second visit, but still not as sweet as the Black on Black I had during my first. So overall, it was a tad too sweet but I didn't mind it since I was sharing. Maybe not the prettiest cone we've gotten from here, but I think they gave us a higher portion; so who's complaining? (Not me!) Again, the employees were very friendly and wished us a happy holidays when they gave us our cone.

I'd heard good things about their charcoal ice cream, so it was exciting to find iHalo Krunch pop up in Vaughan Mills. They had a decent lineup of people sharing the same curiosity. However when we got to the cash, they only had cups and no cones left. Yes WTF, who sells ice cream cones without the cones? We tried their activated charcoal and purple ube swirl. The soft serve ice cream was creamy, but it was basically coconut and taro flavoured. We weren't really impressed. The charcoal derived from coconut husk did leave a funny stain in our mouths. For $6.50 a cup, we decided we'd rather go to Sweet Jesus next time on the other end. Interestingly when we came back to the mall, iK had an even longer lineup. We saw many people walking around with charcoal black cones.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a human Brita filter? The black on black is is activated charcoal, so as you consume food, you can be sure that it's filtered and purified on its way out. True story -- on a vacation, some friends wanted to see what happens when you filter Grey Goose through activated charcoal and what came out gave a new meaning to Grey Goose. It turned into Grey Grey Goose. As a warning, that's what will happen to the things that pass through your body. I've seen iHalo Krunch at Vaughan Mills mall since it opened and have been curious about it after seeing photos and reviews from the downtown location. I tried the ube nut, which is a mix of the purple ube soft serve and the black on black soft serve. The black on black soft serve is infused with coconut. It had a wonderful creamy coconut flavor. The ube was disappointing because it didn't taste like anything. However, the soft serve was still quite refreshing.

Tucked right between David's tea and Danier is this gem, iHalo Krunch. I walked around the mall and see people holding onto black cones with purple ice cream and I was immediately drawn to it. Their ice cream flavors are anything but the norm. They have Ube, Coconut, Vanilla and for the holidays, mint. They do swirls of different ice cream flavors as well. I'm partial to ube ice cream so I ordered the Ube all the way. You get the option of a cup or for another $.50 you can get it in a black sugar cone. Now whether or not it has the charcoal in it or not, I can not verify. But they first fill the bottom with marshmallow fluff and then the ice cream. The Ube ice cream, though purple, does not or should not turn your mouth purple. At least mine did not. It's a refreshing sweetness of flavor in between taro and sweet potato. The cone itself does not have a special flavor to it. Just a regular sugar waffle cone. I personally am partial to Ube ice cream. I love this stuff, so it's nice that I can get it outside of tubs from a grocery store. If you haven't had it and are freaking out about a different flavor, try it. The best place is to try it in smaller portions. You'll love it. Slightly on the pricey side at about $7 a cone but well worth a try!

Was walking around the mall when I noticed people holding these black cones, and when I came across the shop I wanted to try it for myself. They're located as just a stall in the middle of the shops. Had the matcha bean cone, which is a vanilla + green tea swirl. The ice cream was really good, and the cone was quite nice too. Kind of more like a cookie, especially since there's like a marshmallow coating at the bottom which they squeeze in before the ice cream. Price seems a little high for what you get, but worth trying.

Ubenut Soft Serve Being quite fond of untraditional ice cream flavours, iHalo Krunch caught my attention as I was strolling through Vaughan Mills. The Ubenut is their signature flavour which is a Taro and Charcoal twist. I love that the ice cream had a smooth texture to it and that the flavours of the twist complemented one another. The price is a little more on the expensive side, but if you're someone who likes trying new foods, this is definitely not a place to be overlooked.

I've been meaning to try iHalo ice cream ever since they opened their downtown location. I'm a huge fan of anything Ube, so it was a must for me! Plus, the Vaughan Mills location is a perfect excuse to eat ice cream indoors while it's freezing outside. I'm slightly disappointed in the taste & value of the product. I got the Ube & the Black on Black Swirl in a cup ($6.80). Both flavours tasted like coconut ice cream, which I love, but I came for ube & charcoal-infused ice cream. Nevertheless, the service was quick and the quality of the ice cream was great. If I ever feel for coconut ice cream, I know where to go.

I love ube ice cream, and they do it pretty well at iHalo! They have a few flavours but I have only tried the Ube and the Black on Black which is coconut with activated charcoal. I really liked the flavour and texture of the soft serve and the colours make it even more awesome. When I got to the bottom of the cone there was some white gooey coconut filling which I'm not sure was intentional or not. But either way, this is a great snack and I'll always want one when I walk by.

Had my first iHalo ice cream at the Downtown Toronto location for my birthday last year and was super excited to find a location in Vaughan Mills later last year. IHalo has become an essential every time I go to Vaughan Mills, or maybe I go to Vaughan Mills just for the ice cream! I've tried several of the flavours, however the Ube Nut is my ultimate favourite. Love the subtle sweetness in the ice cream and the delicious cone as well. Highly recommended although I hate the way my tongue and lips look post-licking, haha.

First time trying this ice cream which I heard so much about! The cone was tasty and crunchy. I got the ube nut, I can taste the ube and thought it was pretty good. Finished it quick and was a good size! Over $7 including tax for cone, getting it once in a while to treat myself as it can get pretty pricey.

Even though there may be a line it moves fast! $7-$8 for a cone is on the pricey side but this is unique and def worth a try. The matcha/vanilla is disappointedly plain... I recommend the black/ube mix. Very refreshing unique flavour, I love the coconut! Ice cream does seem to melt a bit faster than normal ice cream, the cone was not "soft" at all. Ps if u ask for all 4 flavours it's more expensive than just a twist with 2... my only compliant is that the prices aren't listed which is annoying

I don't normally eat dessert at Vaughn Mills especially when it is crowded, but I do have unfortunately a sweet tooth. We've heard about this exotic ice cream place for a bit in social media and when it opened up here we just needed to try. Apparently everyone had heard about it too and there was a long 15 minute wait at their kiosk next to the Lacoste store. We got the fan fav of HaloNut which is a mix of Ube and Coconut. There was Green tea, vanilla and mango available. Or mix match them. They come in a sesamie coconut black waffled cones. certainly a crowd pleaser. Only complaint- a bit pricey. $$
