An Asian flavour gelato place! Such a pleasant surprise this exists in Newmarket! Although I didn't order an Asian flavour, I got to try the flavours: Pandan and Vietnamese coffee. I decided to go with strawberry cheesecake and it was yummy! I recently tried a lot of gelato at other places in the GTA, and may dare say this is good, but not the best. However, this won't stop me from coming back. The service is quick and efficient. They were able to let me try out the different flavours. It looks like it rotates and they have soft serve too! The flavour that I saw was Hojicha. This is located in a commercial plaza, so not many restaurants nearby. A quiet spot to grab some ice cream. There was some seating indoors and outdoors if you choose to enjoy it there!

Love this gelato store in Newmarket!! A lot of variety including asian inspired flavours. They sell pastries, soft serves, and ofc gelato. We tried the viet coffee, pandan and hk milk this time. All of the flavours were very strong and the viet coffee was a little bitter imo but that's just me. My friend loved it. I personally got pandan as iv never seen this flavour of gelato elsewhere! Think it's my favourite so far. Every time we come here they have different flavours available for the scoops. They also sell them in pints which usually have all the flavours available. Also, sampling is available!!

Had the Hong Kong waffle with Lotus Biscoff gelato. The waffle was crisp, fluffy & rich. The biscoff pieces in the gelato were crisp & it was good.

The gelato is delicious! I got the lotus biscoff and the hojicha. It was so flavourful and the perfect texture. I'll definitely be back to try more flavours.

Great ice creams and gelatos. Love the cakes and options. Very different flavours. I loved the lotus biscoff. It tasted just like the biscuits. Quick service as well

Yasssss finally Asian flavor gelato! I was a frequent visitor of keku ice cream when I use to live downtown so when my friend told me about by Jacob, I visited immediately even on a day that feels like -38° with windchills. First impression, very clean and modern decor. They have an array of desserts and gelato flavours. I got a sample of the pandan and durian, it was delicious. I also got Vietnamese coffee to go, that one was a bit too strong for my palette but my husband loved it. Monica and Tommy (owners) were super nice and even gave me a macaron to try. It is definitely on par with some of the other top macarons shops. The best thing is they come in Asian flavour too! So I ended up getting some for my family and my mom actually liked it. She doesn't usually like sweet desserts. But these weren't overly sweet. I will definitely go back to try the other flavours.

Found this place in FB and in the neighbourhood, so giving this place a try.. Looks like it's a dessert place and they also sell gelato. The place looks very new and clean vibe and the lady (owner) at the counter is very friendly! So we focus in the Gelato this time. There are lots of Gelato places in Aurora/Newmarket area but I think this place is probably the only place in the area that offer Asian flavour, eg. Viet coffee, HK milk tea, Pandan, Hojicha, and even Durian! For Durian, u need to ask for it, it's not in the freezer u see. My wife just ask for Durian flavour out of curiosity and they say they do have it and actually just made some Durian flavour recently, such luck. Lol ! Thumbs up for all these flavour! The Gelato is creamy and has the strong flavour as the labelled one, like Pandan, HK milk tea, and viet coffee that we tried. It's just a little bit on the sweet side for my palette but it is still good enough for me to go again and try other Gelato flavour! According to the owner, they are just opened for 2-3 weeks so let's continue to support local business! I for sure will go back again for more Gelato!

I have been a fan of Supermoon Japanese-style Cheesecakes since I first learned about its original…read morestore in Streetsville (Mississauga) many moons (haha!) ago. It then opened another location in Mississauga at Erin Mills Town Centre. I have also been to that location. Several months ago, I learned that a third location had opened up in Newmarket. Considering that this store and I are in York region, it is likely the closest one for me to get my cheesecake and cheese tart fixes. My original intent was to drop by this store in February. During the Family Day weekend, I had scheduled a pickup order on Family Day. Due to a glitch in Supermoon's ordering system, it should not have allowed me to place an order that day. All three locations were closed for the holiday. I had two folks from Supermoon promptly contact me to determine whether I wanted to do a different pickup day or cancel. Since I was travelling a few days later, I knew that I couldn't devour all my goodies before I departed, so I cancelled. I already knew that customer service would be stellar. I hadn't even set foot in this store yet! Last month, I finally made the drive up to Newmarket. This store is on the east side of Bayview Avenue at Stonehaven Avenue. It's near a rather new-looking Tim Hortons. I find that you need to pay attention while in the parking lot. There is steady business at the Timmy's, especially at the drive-thru, that you are competing with traffic to park across from it. There are limited spots in front of Supermoon, so parking further away is your better option. I backed into a spot. I also witnessed folks backing out of spots and dealing with Timmy's customers wanting to accelerate out of the plaza as quickly as the caffeine from their drinks was going into their bloodstream. It was interesting, but crazy and a tad scary. I placed an order online for four cheese tarts (two chocolate and two original ones) and a Mr Jigglesworth plushie. He is Supermoon's mascot. I have eyed getting one for a long time. At the store, I had the nicest woman help me with my order. I let her know that I was here for a pickup. Online on Supermoon's site, you specify the time and date when you plan on dropping by. She found my order that was ready in two branded bags. Yay! I paid with a debit card. I tapped and all was great. If you do get a cheesecake, remember to tear off the cardboard moon on the box's lid. If you collect ten of these cardboard moons, you get a free cheesecake. I am still not there yet, but I hope to get a free cheesecake before this decade is over. I love the cheese tarts. You get a lot of the creamy cheese filling. There's a hint of saltiness in the crust that I enjoy. I can't decide whether I like the chocolate or original more, which is why I tend to get both. They are delicious and consistent. Mr Jigglesworth is cute. I love his ears and Supermoon apron. He is a nice addition to my ever-growing plushie collection. I'm so happy that I have a closer Supermoon to visit. I hope to stop by again soon for new cheesecake flavours and more cheese tarts. (122)

This place is located on the east side in a plaza with Tim Hortons and a supermarket called "The Ranch". Opening the door to this place you are instantly lifted away in the distinct aroma of Japanese Cheesecake goodness. The cake baking area is open concept so you can see all the magic happening right before your eyes. There was nothing cooking when I arrived but of course they were well stocked up in their shelves. The flavors on rotation included original, lemon raspberry and mocha and I ended up getting the lemon raspberry cheesecake and also a side of butter cookies. Honestly everything here looked well presented. There is nothing pretentious about this place and is an open book. Good solid Japanese style cheesecake. Which I would like to remind folks that I think this may be the only place in Newmarket that makes this stuff! Though uncle who-su may be one of the O.G Japanese style cheesecake places Supermoon definitely has a spot on my list now. They also have limited time flavors sprinkled through out the year so you should definitely check out their social media as well!

Last Saturday, I was in my car, parked steps away from Zoup! I had placed a dinner order. I looked across the plaza and noticed Paris Baguette (PB). I had visited COBS Bread a couple of hours earlier. Did I need another bakery visit? Yes! I had some time to kill before picking up my dinner. It was raining. I drove over to PB and parked relatively close to the store. I walked in. I felt like I was in heaven. Carb heaven. Where should I start? I got a tray. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The chausson aux pommes had the best apple filling. It was flaky and delicious. I absolutely devoured the pineapple brûlée pastry. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I raved about this place to my friend at work today. There's one at Heartland in Mississauga, which is perfect for us to do a run after work. I had an excellent experience. It was nice meeting a passionate pastry lover while getting her take on what she loves. Everything that I consumed was excellent. I hope to get a drink next time and perhaps sit down to enjoy it. I'll be back. (117)
