I went to this cute little bakery in the afternoon and it didn't look like there was much left but they did inform me that there were still some items in the back. I tried the chocolate almond croissant and the brown butter chocolate chip cookies and both were super yummy! The croissant was fluffy and had the perfect balance of almond and chocolate. The cookies were also soft and not too sweet. They have a menu online so you can order in advance for pickup. I'll definitely be back to try the scones and other items!

Earl Grey scone was excellent: crisp & moist, with a good Earl Grey flavour. Chocolate croissant was flaky & not too sweet, using good quality semi sweet chocolate. It was really a chocolate croissant, not a pain au chocolat labelled as a chocolate croissant. Chocolate almond croissant was amazing: so flaky & so moist, with rich almond paste. Semi-sweet chocolate & almond paste was an interesting combination as the different sweetness levels & textures offset each other.

    Special monthly cruffin w/ tea

Their baked goods are delicious, I'm a regular for their cruffins and tea cake. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because their hours of operations are a bit wacky. Would be nice if they opened earlier in the morning so their pastries could be enjoyed for proper breakfast instead of brunch or even just being open earlier for pre-order pickups. Otherwise, the service is wonderful, the treats are always fresh and tasty, it's well located and I absolutely HIGHLY recommend visiting.

Been looking forward to trying their pastries for a while! I follow them on IG and always watch for their specials that come out on the weekends (mainly on Saturdays). Finally made it up for a Saturday in the early afternoon hoping to try their peach tarts as they announced it would be their last day of peach tarts for the summer. They are open from 8-5 on Saturdays so when I arrived at 1pm and they were conpletely out of the peach tarts (and not much left of everything else) I was quite disappointed. To be fair they do specify that the specials are only freshly baked at 8:30 and 10:30. However I would hope that when your business is open till 5pm you'd keep baking to try to keep things in stock till at least 3pm. Anyways I decided to get their August special cruffin instead and it was delicious. The next day a friend came over and brought me more treats from them, completely coincidentally, and as it was the first day of September their monthly special was now the oatmeal choc chip cruffin so I got to try that too! Also got a Nutella cruffin which was also delicious (the Nutella sticks to the roof of your mouth, in case you get hungry later ;P) and some cookies which were chewy and wonderful. Overall, delicious and aesthetically pleasing pastries and baked treats! Just wish they had more stock as the store was underwhelmingly bare when we went in midday.

This is the finest chocolate croissant in existence on planet Earth. From Paris to Toronto... & Nutmeg in Newmarket its home!

Only Those Who Taste, Know ! Be one that has experienced something truly delicious. Fabulous, fresh and so phenomenal that reservations on their more popular delights may be necessary ! P.s... the cookies are so incredible that seasoned exceptional bakers have confided in me that they have been bested by the full sensual experience of a Nutmeg Coconut Lemon Cookie.

I can't in good conscience give Nutmeg 5*s. Is the storefront appealing? Yes. Do the items look good, out of what was left on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm? They looked fine, but again, there wasn't much left with all the baked goods on top of the front counter. In addition to not having much items left, I found the prices a bit on the high side. We're talking more than what a croissant/cupcake would cost at Whole Foods. At $3, cupcakes were the same price as Bake Sale, but much smaller. The only croissants that were left were Pumpkin Chocolate and although I love the idea of incorporating something seasonal like pumpkin into the beloved croissant, the croissant was more of a slightly dry bread than a flaky pastry. Butter tarts were also $3, more expensive than The Maids' Cottage across the street, and not nearly as good. If you're going to be offering a product that a neighbour is also offering (and has been for a long time), personally I'd either make my item larger/same price or cheaper. If you're the only show in town/on the strip, Nutmeg is not a bad option although I still find that nothing really stood out to justify the price points.

told you i'd be back for the february cruffin.. earl grey and raspberry ? simple, but oh so good! I love the subtle earl grey flavour! I find that in many earl grey desserts, the flavour is masked easily but this was soooo good. Cruffin itself is crispy as ever. Sugar coated on the outside but never overly sweet.:: Only one day left in february so hurry over!

Tried some cookies and a brownie from here. A very small bakery wtih a seat inside and also outside. More of a place to get sweets on the go. The cookies were super flat like a thin crust pizza. There were various flavours available like peanut butter and chocolate. Some flavours were already sold out when we arrived. I think the cookies are $1 each when you buy them individually as appose to getting a dozen. Thats damn expensive for a cookie if you ask me. The cookies tasted great and I would give them 4 stars. The brownie was lavader flavoured. It was chocolatey and chewy just like a brownie should be. Nothing really stood out on the brownie for me. They also had croissants and I wish I had room to fit that in my stomach aswell but I was just too full already from Mexican food down the road. 3.5 stars

Great food, horrible service and zero flexibility. Always feel like I'm begging to get something. Won't be back again.

Last Saturday, I was in my car, parked steps away from Zoup! I had placed a dinner order. I looked across the plaza and noticed Paris Baguette (PB). I had visited COBS Bread a couple of hours earlier. Did I need another bakery visit? Yes! I had some time to kill before picking up my dinner. It was raining. I drove over to PB and parked relatively close to the store. I walked in. I felt like I was in heaven. Carb heaven. Where should I start? I got a tray. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The chausson aux pommes had the best apple filling. It was flaky and delicious. I absolutely devoured the pineapple brûlée pastry. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I raved about this place to my friend at work today. There's one at Heartland in Mississauga, which is perfect for us to do a run after work. I had an excellent experience. It was nice meeting a passionate pastry lover while getting her take on what she loves. Everything that I consumed was excellent. I hope to get a drink next time and perhaps sit down to enjoy it. I'll be back. (117)
