I have long heard about the hype around Nani's Gelato, but finally was able to try it for myself recently when I had some appointments in this area. I think Nani's does live up to the hype! They have an amazing array of flavours which rotate every few weeks. My absolute favourites are pistachio and ube (sadly I believe ube is out of season currently). Now I always try to stop by to pick up a pint or two every time I'm in this area. Highly recommend!

A few years ago, my friend from grades 7 and 8 let me know that her brother-in-law had opened this Nani's Gelato store in Markham. I flagged visiting it, which was a Yogurty's eons ago. Naturally, I am not a hop-on-the-bandwagon-immediately type of person. I eventually do. These days, when it's cold outside, I feel like a cold treat. Paying Nani's Gelato a visit felt right. After shopping at Longo's after work on Friday, I headed over here for a treat. I have been to this plaza for well over a decade. It was pretty busy here, but I managed to find a parking spot in front of the store and backed into it. I like that this place posts scoop and pint flavours on the windows. The lemon sorbetto (it's dairy-free gelato) caught my attention. There were also vegan flavours that made me happy. I am borderline lactose-intolerant. I am fortunate that I can indulge in ice cream, but would sooner go with sorbetto or vegan frozen treats. This store accommodates all my wants and needs. I got the nicest, most helpful woman. She said hi with such enthusiasm when I walked in. Maybe it was a slow day, but I was definitely going for the lemon sorbetto. She gave me a sample. I told her that it was such a nice gesture. I assumed that the lemon sorbetto would be good. I was right. It was tart and bright. It's exactly how I pictured it to be. She said that the lemon sorbetto came in a pint. I said that this move was evil, which made us both laugh. I went with a large cup because I craved it immediately. I'll likely come back for the pint after I'm done with the two pints of ice cream that I have in the freezer. I paid with a credit card. I tipped. All went well. She handed me my sorbetto in a cup with a spoon. She also got me napkins. I thanked her and headed to my car. I sat in my car and indulged. It was delicious. My tastebuds enjoyed the lemon's tartness. I am sad that it's not a permanent staple on the menu. It's pure joy to consume. I'll be back for more. I saw vegan dark chocolate gelato that also looked good. It took me a few years to drop by. I'm glad that I finally did at long last. (63)

Came here on Good Friday after watching an Italian movie.. how fitting. Drove 30mins for this and have no regrets with my choices. Small cute store with 6 high top tables with two chairs per table. Intimate date spot. The staff super friendly. $6 for two flavours (1 scoop) ; $9 for three flavours (2scoops). Flavour changes every two weeks made fresh daily in-house.

**Update: They brought the issue up with head office as more people shared similar feedback. They will post pictures beside the items so customers know what to expect. They also offered me a gift card. Glad to see they take customer feedback seriously. ** Pretty disappointed with our last purchase here. We've gotten gelato pints in the past at some of their different locations and loved it. We found the pistachio gelato in particular to be delicious with many chunks of pistachios in each bite. It's so good that we tell everyone about it. When we saw on their Instagram they were now offering gelato cakes, we were super excited to get it since we had such good experiences with their pints. The video they posted of their pistachio gelato cake looked heavenly, and it influenced us to order an 8" pistachio gelato cake. When we opened the box, we were a little confused because it didn't look like the one they posted in their video. The one we got was much shorter and had way less pistachios on top. The website described the cake to have a double layer of pistachio gelato, but this did not look double layered at all. However, the one in their post seemed double layered as it looked a lot taller (double the height of ours), which confused us even further. Our cake also only had bigger pieces of pistachios around the perimeter of the cake and like a dusting of ground pistachios in the middle. The cake in the post had big pieces of pistachios all around the sides of the cake. Our cake's gelato also seemed to have less pistachios than what we've had in their pints. We double checked that we ordered the right thing, and we did. We even reached out to their instagram page to make sure we got the right cake and expressed our confusion/disappointment. Their response/lack of response really left us with a negative experience. They basically said we did receive the right cake - it is double layered, but we can't see the two layers because they're blended into one. They said the recipe is made by using weight, but perhaps they could add more pistachios. They do put a lot of effort and heart into. They said they were sorry our cake didn't look like the professional shots and offered us some complementary scoops of gelato. We said we appreciate the effort and heart they put into their products, especially since we were past customers with great experiences. However, many people heavily rely on social media these days to know what to order, so it will only cause further customer dissatisfaction if you post something you don't actually offer. The cake shouldn't be advertised like that if that's not what the customer will receive. We asked what cake on their site we needed to order to get the one in their post. The one in their post looked like a 6" and we ordered the 8", so we were expecting it to look the same but wider. We didn't end up getting a response after that, so it left a bad taste in our mouths. Three stars because the flavours are great, but the customer service is not. Stick to the pints.

A cute Asian and Italian inspired gelato shop in Cornell, Markham area. Their flavours rotate bi-weekly and all their gelato is made in house, on site and fresh daily. They carry around 1-2 vegan flavours, 4 non-nut dairy flavours and 2 nut based dairy flavours on rotation. It's a corner unit with a little outdoor patio seating area that is quite cute for you to eat your gelato in the summertime. I was able to taste test some of the flavours as I was curious to but was not ready to commit to an entire scoop, just in case I didn't enjoy the flavour. I opted to get the vanilla and matcha soft serve. I absolutely loved this and thought it was so creamy and delicious to have on a hot summer day. Can't wait to be back to try their new flavours that are always change bi-weekly. Definitely a place to check out if you're looking for a sweet treat!

This place was recommended to my gf by one of her colleagues. Plenty of parking in this strip mall along Copper Creek Drive where this particular store is located. The employees at this store are super nice and let you sample the flavours before buying! I asked the cashier what flavour would be closest to mocha and she suggested espresso nutella. We ended up getting a pint of pistachio and a pint of espresso nutella (at her suggestion). The gelato was really creamy and tasty! Could definitely tell it was made with high quality, fresh ingredients and homemade. I liked that the pistachio had lots of nuts running around in it and the espresso nutella was very coffee-like (almost bitter/dark which was amazing). The only negative I can think of is the price as each pint is quite expensive but we're not eating gelato all the time and it's like a special treat once in a while.

Definitely a hidden gem! Was in the plaza when we decided to get a quick sweet treat at Nani's Gelato. The two girls at the front were just so nice and friendly, even gave some great recommendations! For a single scoop cup, you can choose two flavours, which is amazing if you like to have a bit of variety! I was a big fan of the two flavours that we chose, the Pina Colada sorbetto and Cookie Butter gelato. The quality of the gelato is great and they have a lot of interesting flavours that I'd love to come back and try. They have a really nice patio type of area as well, perfect to enjoy the summer weather along with your scoop of gelato! This will definitely be my new gelato spot from now on! Prices are super reasonable and I love the vibe this place gives off! Excited to come back and try some different scoops!

This is a great place to go if you're looking for a quick and sweet treat. My wife and I stopped by after visiting some friends in the area - inside, it was very clean but also felt welcoming and homey. Plenty of seats on the side, bar stool style only, so those who aren't able to climb on to the stool may have difficulty finding a seat. In terms of the flavours, we got three - banana chocolate chip, vanilla bean biscoff, and hazelnut rocher. The hazelnut richer was exactly as the name - very creamy and intense, tasted exactly like a combination of Nutella and Ferraro richer. This was our favourite! Overall, great treat for a hot day (or a cold day where you want something sweet like we did!)

It was nice to have another gelato option in Markham. They are located at Copper Creek plaza with ample parking. The shop is directly across from mandarin buffet. They had a good selection of gelato but not all the flavours listed was available. They allow 2 samples per person which was nice They sell gelato shakes, pints of ice cream & ice cream sandwiches. The service was good and the store was clean We had the tiramisu, raspberry sorbetto and pistachio almond. The tiramisu was good the first couple of bites and then the flavour seemed to have disappear. The raspberry was a bit sour as you ate more of it. The pistachio almond was good made with 100% Italians pistachio paste.

Tried this chain originally from the yorkville location and was very impressed with the quality of their gelatos. I could taste that high quality ingredients were used - ie the pistachio has really nutty and bits of pistachio in there and not overly sweet. Happy they opened a location in markham!

I do understand very hard working couple in the back very polite and kind. I ordered sesame bubble waffle and matcha wanted to try. Total should have been 9$ however they charged me $10 not a big deal their tip or tax or maybe they didn't have change in cash. Black Sesame one came out crispy, matcha flavor wise wasn't too memorable. My friend wanted to order ice cream the lychee and ube was out. Settled for mango. They took time to decorate the ice cream apparently made in house. 3.98$ plus tax for 1 scoop. Price was decent they had some other deals such as original bubble waffle 1 for $4 or 2 for 6$. Special drink items 1$. For cheap eats in the area it's good. Nothing overly memorable. Hard working family appreciate the hustle.

Ice cream is offered in many different flavors. Original egg waffles are 2 for $5 which is the cheapest I've come across, no where else beats this price. I keep coming back here because of their great service and the prices are really good. If you're craving for some dessert or even a drink I would highly recommend this place. So far they are closed on Tuesdays and sometimes they are closed for a period of time due to vacations.

The bubble waffles all have unique flavours (they have savoury or sweet). We stopped by Golden Bubbles on a Sat night for dessert. The place wasn't too busy but we had a hard time choosing which waffle and ice cream flavours to have. Last time I came here I tried their Matcha Redbean signature waffle. This time we opted to get the milk tea bubble waffle with 2 scoops of ice cream (black sesame and dutch chocolate). We had to wait about 5 min for our waffle/ice cream to be made. Waffle came out fresh and hot - slightly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside which complimented the cold ice cream well. The black sesame flavor tasted great and paired well with the milk tea waffle flavor that we had chosen. Staff were friendly during our interaction with them.
