This is an absolute must if you like coffee and gelato, and seriously who doesn't. I'm not sure why I've never had one before but they are my new addiction. Loved this version with not your basic vanilla but with the stracciatella gelato, a vanilla gelato with chocolate flakes. How could something be so delicious? It tasted exactly like Ferrero Rocher with chunks of hazelnut beautifully distributed in the gelato. Wow. Just wow. Only complain is that you buy 2 "scoops" but since the gelato is so thick or another confounding factor, they don't give you scoops, they give you slabs of gelato. I love gelato. My go-to flavour is always pistachio. I came here on a rainy day and got a crepe with 3 scoops of gelato- pistachio, strawberry cheesecake and (I forgot the name) white chocolate with nutella. The gelato was creamy and flavourful. The crepe itself did not stand out that much though. If I come back I'd just stick to a cup of gelato on its own! I also got the hot apple cinnamon tea which really hit the spot and complimented the cold dessert :) Highly recommend!!! The server was super nice! A bit pricey, but what do you expect for a little cafe in Kensington/ downtown Toronto? I have tried the strawberry flavoured gelato, tiramisu, espesso, grapefruit, and pistachio. All very delicious! They use their own espesso to make the gelatos that need a coffee base so that's really nice. They let you try it before you buy it so that's also nice of them haha! I also ordered an apple cider on this recent visit. They add strawberry which gives it a strawberry jam sweetened flavour. Been here a couple of times now, but mainly for their coffee. The first time I came here, I got strawberry gelato and my boyfriend got an espresso. He said the espresso was perfect. One of our favourite places to go to cool down during the summer. Dolce has a ton of different flavours to make sure that your taste buds are adequately satisfied. We often switch between this location and the one in little Italy. The ice cream here is very flavourful and decently creamy. You'll be able to stuff your tummy with a couple of scoops and not feel sick afterwards. Both their cream based and fruit based flavours so no matter which flavour you go with you should be happy with your choice. Usually the staff here is nice but you might have to wait a while in order to get your ice cream. The lines can get pretty long during the afternoon and their option to let customers try out different flavours can delay the process a bit more. Took off one star because on some days during the weekend they do not have the option to order the containers which is strange because they allow this during the weekdays. This often causes quite an inconvenience as my boyfriend and I like to stock up on ice cream for the week but we have to visit other shops in order to do so. If the sun is getting to you and you need a nice little snack to cool you down then I definitely recommend giving Dolce Gelato a try! read more

It's a great way to explore what Dolce has to offer, and to make up your mind when the choice is just too difficult. The gelato tastes great. Cream-based flavours like chocolate or Pinguino are thick and creamy, and fruit-based flavours taste just like the real thing. While I personally love Dolce, I am a bit upset with this location. Last time I visited, the waiter would not let me buy the Gelato box. Apparently they "don't do that on Sundays". The lemon and strawberry is my go-to, it's an UNREAL balanced combination of tart and sweet and is especially satisfying on a hot day or after a hefty dinner since it's light and fresh! As for the rich flavours, their nocciola (hazelnut) is amazing, especially alongside the espresso flavour. Came in here on a Friday afternoon to find it barely half-filled. To be fair, it was on a freezing-cold day, so gelato likely did not sound appealing at all. The two of us each had an apple cider that was $3.50 with tax. Yes, the price is a tad high, but the drink was not only one of the best apple cider's I've had, but the presentation was also remarkable. It was fruitier than other ones I've had, but nonetheless, it was a lovely drink. The washroom is located in the basement though, and is fairly sketchy!
