This waffle hit the spot! One of the few places I've found to offer thick (~belgium waffle style) and freshly made waffles at a fair price! You can order the waffle for ~$9 (comes with 1 topping) with an optional gelato ($3.50). They plated it very nicely and topped it off with chocolate drizzle and powered sugar. Other details that made the experience there quite pleasant: there are many flavors of gelato that you can ask to sample, the staff were really friendly, the place is clean, and it's centrally located in the courtyard/skating rink area within Shops at Don Mills. Would definitely be back for the waffles and the nice vibes!
This place was so super busy on the weekend when we came in. My friends has some ice cream & I had a choose your own ingredients crepe. I chose to have nutella & peanut butter in mine with some banana. It took a while for me to get my crepe because they were so busy. I will say I think they tried their best. I think they need more staff there especially on the weekends! As for my crepe it was pretty average. The batter wasn't that flavourful & the crepe itself was overstuffed. My friends told me the ice cream was good though. Unfortunately I can't have ice cream due to my dairy intolerance. I don't think I will come back here for dessert. The tables weren't very clean because the staff were so busy just serving people. I kind of felt sorry for the staff, which is why I'm not giving them a worse rating. I felt that the staff were doing the best they could.
This dessert spot is a great place to hang or chill out while you're waiting for your favourite dinner spots. There's a nice parkette outside that can see the hub of the plaza . Where people can ice skate or the pets can walk and kids can play. My gf wanted the waffles so we immediately got them. She was craving one of her alltime favourite waffle ice cream places in her hometown . And she said it's very close but not that one. The service is very nice and let you choose tons of samples until you find your favourite ice cream flavour. They have lots of patience! I tried 5 and my gf tried 4. And they were still okay with it ! The waffle itself is great it had a nice size with a generous amount of gelato cause usually at waffle and ice cream places you finish the ice cream before the waffles . Here you finish then waffle and then the ice cream . So there's a lot of gelato in there. Only thing is we had to wait for water twice but either way it was quite good , the decor was nice and everything else was great !
Decisions decisions. Ice 'N Cake a hipster spot for pricey gelato and $10.00 nutella crepes is the place to go on a warm summer day. A wide assortment of gelato flavors greet you to the right as you enter, but make sure to pay and get your ticket first. We got a mango, pistachio single cone, and I got the Ferrero Rocher when asked what the most popular flavour is. You get a choice of cone and a modest scoop, with the added benefit of a seat on their spacious patio outside. Make sure to follow social distancing rules! -Zuk
Very smooth and creamy, above average gelato IMO. Gelato is a bit on the sweeter side. If you want semi-sweet, this may not be right for you. At the time of this post, prices are: Single scoop $4.15, double 5.15, triple 6.15 Pistachio, hazelnut, and strawberry are excellent. Looking forward to trying their many other flavours. There were lineups out the door, so they're doing something right Allows tasting of gelato, but we didn't bother since it was so busy.
A cozy dessert and ice cream place. They have quite a number of gelato flavours ice creams, and selection of cakes and cannoli for dessert. We had Ferrero Rocher and Orange ice creams. Quality and taste 3 star out of 5. The Triple Chocolate Cake from dessert section was good, 4 stars.
This is my go to waffle and gelato place in North York. Conveniently located in shops at Don Mills this place makes delicious customizable waffles. You can add as many or as little toppings as you like. They also have pre set waffles. They are doing their best with covid and are using disposable plates, following the city guidelines.
Came here to try out their crepes. I ordered the Canadiana- with strawberries and gelato. It had a more simple and home style taste to it. Didn't quite win me over. Due to some delays, they offered us complimentary coffee which was really good customer service. We also ordered the fresh orange juice which was so good! I would recommend trying their coffee, orange juice and gelato.
My sister bought me some cheesecake on her way home, and I loved it! I do wish that they served more than just one slice though- I was craving more after I ate that first slice. Good spot for a hot summer day:p
Waffles are my weakness, whether they be sweet or savoury. At Ice 'n Cake, there are plenty of choices for both and you can even customize your own. Besides waffles and crepes, they also have other desserts such as cakes, macarons, and of course, gelato. It's located right in the middle of the Shops at Don Mills and they are usually pretty busy. I can never choose between sweet and savoury so my friend and I got one each to share. The Nutty Professor ($9.95) was so good. They put a lot of almond slices and it paired so perfectly with the Hazelnut gelato and toffee sauce. For the savoury crepes, you can choose up to three toppings for ($8.95) or + 95 cents for additional toppings. My toppings of choice were turkey, red pepper, and eggs. Again, everything went so well together. The crepe itself had a small hint of sweetness to it that complimented the savoury ingredients. The prices are standard and I think that it's also a pretty good portion size.. we were so full and weren't able to finish either dishes. I would also recommend the Affogado. You can choose any flavour of gelato to go with it but they recommend either Vanilla or Hazelnut. It was soo good. They use Illy coffee which is a quality brand. It is pretty strong when you get to the bottom so I wouldn't recommend having it in the evening if you're sensitive to caffeine.
Double scoop gelato $8 Salted caramel - better in texture. Denser than mango 4.5/5 Mango - tastes like pineapple. Icey 3/5
Great presentation. I especially loved how they separated the flavours. I have never seen any gelato shop do that before (see pics). I got pistachio gelato with a side of coconut and what was supposed to be fig yogurt. They sent me blueberry yogurt gelato instead but that's ok. It was nice and sour. Their pistachio gelato uses real pistachio. It was nice and smooth.
It's a nice place to hang out with family or friends any day until midnight. So a 3 star, but the drinks offered are just so poor. We had tea and hot chocolate. Hot chocolate as they named it "real hot chocolate" was like luke warm milk with a hint of cocoa, was terrible. Tea was fine. The dessert portions are exceptionally large, but taste is just average. This place is unique 'coz it's a place to go when nothing else is open and you don't wanna go to a bar. There is a lot of sitting space, both indoor and outdoor. It's located @ shops at Don Mills and the store is facing the garden square, which is a social hub. Throughout summers people gather there in evening, kids play around and there is some live music + a lot of community sitting space. I just love to be there all the time.
Gosh, I can't remember when was the last time I was here maybe a year or two summers ago, had the banana split back then. Today, as our weather is still on a tug of war phase just went in for some hot tea and a slice of napoleon cake. Nothing special to remember from the cake and I kinda feel like its a little stale the top layer, but its not that bad either just alright to have a little something to nibble while enjoying my hot steeped tea which by the way I think is a little pricey for 3$ a cup. Service crew are polite and quick handing your order at the pick up counter. Neat, cute and decent place to hang out to have a quick easy treats! read more

The crowds here get unruly at times, with the line snaking all the way out of the building and onto the sidewalk during the summer. It doesn't help that you line up to pay, and then you have have to line up again for the gelato counter. So expect there to be a wait between your need for gelato and actually getting something sweet in hand. I opted out of the gelato line and got a large square of Nonna's Tiramisu instead. It was delicious but light enough that I could easily devour the generous portion with little issue. Will definitely brave the wait next time for it, but will continue to skip the gelato line if it is busy. Expect the prices to be slightly more expensive due to the area. read more

This is at shops at donmills...its a good ice cream and cakes etc. Nice decorations and service is good. I always come back here, try it! good for summer read more
Great gelato place for an after dinner dessert. Dessert: 5/5 Great gelato flavors. Service: 5/5 Fast and nice most of the time. Environment: 4/5 Nice and simple. line ups at times. Washrooms: 4/5 Their fine. Worth it?: 5/5 A good time. I have come here twice. Both times were after dinner around Shops at Don Mills. It's a great place to hang out and continue conversation after dinner. Perfect for summer days. You can always sit in or hangout on the lawn out front. The gelato is good and there flavors selection is great. There are simples flavors and interesting ones. So a little but for everyone. Service is friendly most of the time but they get into fast and efficient mode when the line gets long. Who can blame them. Atleast you know they are trying to move the line faster for you. Will definitely come back. It has almost become an after dinner tradition. read more
Popular dessert place in the heart of Shops at Don Mills. Cakes, biscotti, gelato, coffees and espressos. Great place to meet up with friends. Desserts are great and there's always room for gelato! Prices are a little high for the product you're getting but every now and then isn't too bad. A place I'd go back to. read more
Was busy on tonight's visit will all the seating taken and a little too chilly to sit outside The staff are ok, some are lovely others are a little less cheery but overall they balance each other out Got to try some of the ice cream before I bought which was useful as several of the tastes proved not to be for me Lovely location in a little square which provides a great people watching opportunity The place could be doing with a little clean up as it looked a little dirty on my visit tonight read more
Great for the summertime when strolling around Shops at Don Mills. Gelatos are pretty good, prices are a bit high. The crepes were ok too. Their sizes for a scoop of gelato is tiiiiny. Didn't know they made gelato cups that small. Small cute store with some seats. Patio seating in the summer only. read more
Good gelato shop. They have a decent selection of both Gelato and Sorbetto flavours. The taste was... not stellar. Not bad .. it was allright. They also had pastries, which looked good, though I didn't try any on my first visit. Not that friendly staff because they were busy. But I love their atmosphere, decor and location. It is good place to enjoy your desert with your family and friends when you in that area! read more

Standard Gelato spot. Was crazy busy on a Wednesday evening. There are two lines, you order and pay first and give the receipt to the Gelato scooping people. You can taste test. I really like the ferraro rocher and pistachio flavour, The Cheesecake is not the best I've had, probably because I don't like that it's raspberry cheesecake, much prefer strawberry or cherry. read more

The decor here is quite unique, its very spacious inside and the look of the place is different from the surrounding shops. The patio gets insanely popular during the summer, but who doesn't like getting gelato on a hot summers day. The tiramisu is standard and would be what you would expect to be served. If you enjoy tiramisu give it a taste. They have quite a moderate selection of gelato so you won't be bombarded with options. If you are going with a few people it is best to order several scoops in a bowl instead of every individual getting one scoop. The pricing for additional scoop is only $1-$2 more while getting the first scoop is ~$5. Don't hesitate to ask to try each flavour before picking, the servers are more than patient in helping you decide. For gelato my top picks are pistachio, ferrero rocher, stracciatella as these are commonly served in most places. Pistachio - Not bad, the pistachio taste doesn't stand out too much but its there Ferrero Rocher - strong hazelnut and chocolate flavour, a little sweeter then the chocolate Stracciatella - milk based dessert that is simple in it's taste, hard to mess up Stracciatella is my personal favourite and always compliments any other gelato. I do not suggest, if your getting 3 scoops, strong flavour combinations because it will be too overwhelming and not the greatest when eaten together. Also to note, gelato is served in a slightly warmer temperature compared to ice cream to keep the silky texture, therefore it melts more quickly. Just a tip for you slow eaters on a hot summers day....don't be surprised to end up having pistachio soup read more

Location: Shops at Don Mills (30 Clock Tower Road, Toronto, ON M3C) Price:$$ Service: Alright I went to recently and it is super cute. The layout of the place is bright and modern. There's a patio looking out to a yard, and on the day I went the yard was filled with ppl doing yoga. There's wifi at the location, however it was different to login and you'll have to ask for the password. As for the flavours of the gelatos? I tested a few and none were disappointing. My favourite was the coconut and the creme brûlée. I would totally come back and try their other desserts. Verdict: A+ read more

I'm usually a fan of this place for it's gelato, but I gave their hot drinks a try yesterday and I was impressed. I got the chai latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top and it was great. The only reason why this place gets 3 stars is because the cashier was quite rude and not really friendly at all. read more
Mmmm so in love with the gelato here. Pistachio and hazelnut are my go to. Their waffles are great too and and love their lattes. Overall great place to have dessert, coffee and meet with friends. Some of the cashiers have bad attitude. Owner needs to ease off the techno music otherwise perfect! read more
