The young lady behind the counter kindly let us try a couple of flavors. The gelato was creamy, light, smooth, and deeply flavored as expected. I walked out with a scoop of sweet banana pie and spiced parle g. Both were great and I favored the parle g slightly more. The banana had a deep ripe banana flavor that banana lovers should love. I had never heard of parle g. Upon researching the topic, I found out that it is the oldest and most popular biscuit from India with a toasted malt flavor that is frequently eaten with tea. Good spot for gelato near Bloor Yonge. I went in hoping to get just their mango flavour, but came out with a scoop of their mango saffron and yellow plum flavours. I'm a diehard mango fan, but I actually preferred the yellow plum flavour. It had a good balance of sweet and sour. The staff was very patient with me, letting me try the flavours I was interested in and we were in and out pretty fast. The only con is there unfortunately isn't any seating inside. read more

Interestingly, the 2 scoop combo comes with 3 flavours (but wouldn't that mean it's 3 scoops...? I ain't complaining). We chose: - Thai green tea: The best one. Strong tea flavour, very smooth and rich and creamy. 9/10 - Mango saffron cheesecake: The saffron flavour was too strong for my taste on this. At first you taste the mango and the cheesecake, but eventually the saffron takes over and that's all you taste. If you're a fan of saffron I'm sure you will like it, but I'd personally choose another flavour next time I go. 6/10 - Pistachio: Standard pistachio flavour that you can get anywhere. Pistachio bits were a tad larger but overall a great original flavour you can always fall back on. It was empty when we went and service was good. Store overall is small with no seats, just some standing room. Recommend trying their gelato if you haven't already! read more

Nani's is also doing delivery so no excuse to not try!! So far my top flavours are: 1. Pistachio: creamy but not heavy, lots of pistachio nuts scattered throughout 2. Banana butterscotch chocolate chip: the butterscotch was more subtle as it's a swirl around the pint but really good banana flavour and not fake at all. I just want to ignore taste for a second here and focus on customer service. When you walk in, you're greeted by all 3 workers. They make you feel nice and welcome. Cheerful and enthusiastic. They honestly deserve a pay raise. Even after I ordered one of the workers continued conversation with me. Though they made a mistake with my order, they still offered me the ice cream with a refund even though I said it was alright because I really didn't mind. Those actions alone were more than enough to give 4 stars. What I love with Nani's gelato are the aromas that are added with the ice cream. For example with the mango lassi and vanilla bean twist there was some anise notes. I can't really pinpoint which spice but the spices really standout.
