It's been several years since I've been to Love Gelato, and this was my first time at this newer location. On this occasion, a friend of mine, known as DJ PTFire, was providing music for the guests on the patio. Luckily, the weather cooperated, with the exception of a very brief sprinkle. Besides the good music, I enjoyed their pizza, pistachio gelato, and some refreshing beverages. Everything was very good and the music really created a great ambiance. Check out Love Gelato at 116 Main Street Markham N in Markham, and look out for events from DJ PTFire (@djptfire).
Excellent small shop tucked away in alley way. Gelato, coffee, cookies and snacks. Seating outside. 1 staff super friendly. Gelato house made all different flavours. Would come back. Pistachio is most popular flavor
All I can say is WOW!!!! This was absolutely delicious and a hidden gem to me. I came here after a dinner near by and it was just what we needed to end the night on the best note. The outside is so cute with some seating areas and a tarp over in case it was raining. They had small hanging lights in front of the entrance. So cute. The inside was very small, only takeout but had great selections! The service was wonderful. We were able to taste test the flavours we wanted. And if you get a small, like we did, we were able to split a small into two flavours. They also threw in 2 small ice cream cones which was a bonus! Food: Pistachio - 4.5/5 Pistachio is not my go to flavour but I tried my friends and it was delicious! It was smooth and nutty tasting. Wow. Might have to try this out for myself next time. Frutti Di Bosco - 5/5 This flavour is yogurt based with fruit. It is DIVINE!! I always love flavours like this and it was so good. I will 100% come back for this. Overall, 5/5 place. Truly a hidden gem and a must try!!
Absolutely love this place. Best gelato around town. The pistachio gelato is my favourite, it doesn't taste artificial and you can really taste the nuttiness. They have a great variety of flavours as well as dairy free and keto options. The shop is really adorable and brings a warm feeling and the service was great. They were super friendly and kind. They're also not shy on the scoop sizes.
This shop is located down an 'alley' back from Markham Road. They have a covered area with lights with a few tables and which added a nice outside eating area. They also have a few picnic tables. Inside is small inside. You are able to get a taste of the gelato before making your decision. I had a double scoop with chocolate and lemon. Both were good. It was smooth and each had the right flavour profile. The chocolate was rich and chocolatey. The lemon was not too tart. I found the serving size to be small, especially for the price they are charging. Bought a cappuccino and I don't think they filled the cup as it was finished within 3 sips. Taste was just OK. The night we went there was a dj playing music. This was an extra treat! Loved all the music he played. Would return for this. This made it a complete evening.
Delicious gelato, friendly service - what more do you need? We had some delicious gelato from this store recently. Black sesame - my favorite of the flavors I tried. Has that really nice nuttiness of the black sesame. 5/5. Strawberry - dairy free and better than haagen das. Really fresh strawberry flavor - 5/5. Coconut - also great flavor with some shreds of coconut. If you like coconut, you'll love it! 4/5. Amazing gelato - definitely recommend dropping by here for a sweet treat if you're in the area.
First time trying Love Gelato, and I loved it! We got their apple pie gelato to share, and it came with 2 cute mini cones on top of the scoop. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the shop itself is tucked into a very cute alley decorated with lights!
Located in a hidden alley of Markham Main Street, you'll find this cute gelato house (literally looks like a small house), filled with all the freshly made gelato flavours! The location moved from where it use to be but I think their location now is even better because at night they have fairly lights leading to the storefront. The shop itself is small but has a variety of gelato flavors to choose from. All the flavors are made with local ingredients and that's what makes it so delicious. It's creamy, fresh and definitely a great sweet treat. I got the single which comes with two flavours. I got the passionfruit and tangerine both which were a 5/5. Fruity, light, tangy and hit that sweet spot. I got it in a cup and love that it came with a super mini cone on top, it really was the cheery onto of it all. They also sell gelato cakes, cookies and pastries here if you're ever in the mood for it. If you're ever hosting a party and want gelato catering, they also do mini cups for events. I've had them before and love that they're individually packed and easy for delivery/ pick up! Overall, I can see it being super busy during the summer. Check it out!

They have numerous gelato flavours - we tried the grape, lemon, and coconut, which were all very good. Our favourite was the grape flavour. We were greeted by a friendly employee who made an effort to list out all of the flavours available even though it was almost closing time. Would definitely come back again to try all the other flavours as it's hard to find a good gelato place in the city.

I was pleasantly surprised by this gelato shop on Main St. Markham! I can't believe I didn't notice this place sooner until the pandemic. They offer a wide variety of gelato flavours including red bean, pistachio, mango, strawberry, chocolate, and dairy free options as well. The gelato tastes so fresh and is of high quality! There is currently free delivery around the Markham area. The gelato box containing 9 different flavours was packaged very well. The delivery person was very thoughtful and reminded us to put in the fridge and sent a text upon arrival. Great service and can't wait to visit again in person!

They moved from their original location accross the street from when I last visited years ago but remain off Main St Markham. It's hidden behind an alley so it can be easy to miss. They now have sandwiches in addition to their gelato and Italian deserts! I tried the caprese and turkey and both were delicious. They use fresh pita like style bread and slice their own meat! Each had their own unique dressings but were pricey! The caprese was stuffed with a soft creamy chese (lemon whipped ricotta), hot honey and a balsamic glaze. The lemon and hot honey were almost too subtle, I barely tasted those flavors. But the cheese texture was the star of the show. It tasted so light and fresh. The turkey had a tasty garlic house dressing and was piled high with arugula, turkey and thinly sliced tomatoes. I also got half price on the pistacio gelato and a free espresso shot thanks to the Steppin' with Sara event! Cute shop, plenty of seating outside. Super friendly and speedy service! Definitely worth a visit! read more

A friend of my moms delivered our family multiple flavours, they were all so amazing! I personally had the pomegranate and the biscotti, both absolutely amazing! I'm definitely inclined to go in person. read more

Went for a walk during this pandemic time in main Street markham yesterday. Had to stop by my favourite gelato spot. Staff as always were super friendly and taking the right precautions for your safety and their own. Flavour selection is always hard to decide (good problems) because everything is delicious here. I got pistachio, my favourite and wow it hits the spot. Got the wife and daughter mango and lemon which are pretty amazing. The pistachio had a rich creamy texture with plenty of flavour. I could eat it everyday. The mango tasted so fresh and the lemon tastes like those frozen lemonades you get at carnivals and CNE. Found out they also do delivery locally so I will be hitting them up sooner than I thought. All in all, this place never disappoints. The staff are super knowledgable as well. read more

Spot on gelato for the perfect summer days. They had so many flavours to choose from but our favourites were the pistachio, coffee & yuzu!! The fact that some flavours are vegan/dairy-free is a huge plus. They offer free delivery within a large area of the GTA, so happy to have tried a box of 9 gelato flavours without leaving my home. read more

One of my girls recommended this place to me, and said I should check it out as a yelper. Why didn't I find out about this place sooner?!? With a range of unique flavours and such great lactose free options, ALL I CAN SAY IS TRY THIS PLACE!! If you're craving gelato please do check this place out! They even do delivery. Their flavours are not too sweet, but just the right amount. Fruity, nutty, chocolate-y--- whatever you are looking for in a gelato, this place has. I highly recommend, and their workers are quite polite and informative too! They could also help guide you in choosing what you're looking for. Overall 5/5 experience. read more

Located in Markham This small business has the cutest little hut down an alley selling authentic Italian gelato. We tried their raspberry & chocolate (right) and their strawberry & nocciolato - hazelnut chocolate (left). The raspberry was a dairy free gelato that was fruity and more sour than sweet. It had a refreshing taste and was one of our favourite flavours. The chocolate had dairy and was a super smooth and rich. We loved this flavour combo! The strawberry was also another dairy free gelato that wasn't our favourite flavour, but still had a nice taste and texture. The nocciolato - a hazelnut chocolate flavour, was delicious! It was nutty and chocolatey, two things we love. We appreciated their presentation with the gelato by adding a cute small cone on top, and we would definitely say this is one of the best gelato spots in Markham! 8/10 read more
A MUST TRY if you're ever in the Markham area from 12pm-9pm! You just HAVE to come here. I don't consider myself someone that enjoys sweets that much. But this is an exception. Every single flavour that I've tried from Love Gelato is absolutely amazing. From their fruit flavoured Gelato to nut flavoured ones, it tastes like you're eating the most concentrated version of whatever flavour you're eating. Want the best mango you've ever had? Try their gelato! Want the best pistachio you've ever tasted? Try their gelat!. And the crazy part is you get to enjoy it over and over and over again! Me and my girlfriend are absolutely obsessed with this place (evident in the photos) and our go-to order is definitely a double scoop of hazelnut and pistachio. The flavour of these two selections are SO concentrated and is so delicate. The hazel nut is smooth and creamy, and the flavour is so pronounced and concentrated. The pistachio is nutty, but as I mentioned before, it feels like you're eating the best pistachio of your life, over and over again. Nutty, but somehow also contains fruity notes at the same time. I know, it makes no sense, which is why you have to try it for yourself! Another great thing about this place is that the staff is amazing. I don't usually comment on staff because I like to focus on the food, but they're just so awesome, it really adds to the experience. I've been here on more than 5+ occasions and every single staff member I've come in contact with has been nice, courteous and patient. They are also extremely safe in their practices. All workers are wearing masks, and everyone is served outdoors. So, if you're ever in the area, trust me. You HAVE to visit this place, you will not be disappointed! read more

We tried the pistachio gelato today and it's pretty good! Personally, I found it a tad bit too sweet, however the nuttiness of the pistachio really shines through which I loved. Price wise, it wasn't too bad, for one scoop (see photo attached) the price was $4.50+tax. The scoop was nice to share for two people. In addition, the staff were SUPER FRIENDLY which made the experience really nice. Also, you can enjoy your dessert outside because they have a few tables for you to sit at. Overall, really good experience and can't wait to head back to try more flavours! read more
Special gelato delivery! This was a special treat for the family as it was for my brother's birthday! My picky foodie family all loved it! It was indulgent! Food: They have a huge variety of flavours available. If I remember correctly, around 6 are soy milk based and 6 that are dairy based. The ones I order were pear and mojito which were both soy milk based and I really liked them! They both tasted like the actual drink and fruit, and they didn't taste fake at all. It was a really hot afternoon and the gelato here help cool me down a lot! A decent place where I would love to revisit. Interesting interior decoration with friendly staff in the house. It has both dairy and dairy free products. I ordered a large size with 3 scoops, pistachio, coffee and mango (dairy free) flavours. I love each of these three flavours. After I have paid for my order, there was a seating areas outside the store for customers to enjoy their desserts. There was a parking lot behind the store as well which I did not often see in many of the ice cream stores. Yes! The ice cream is a little bit pricey, but you would not feel disappointed with the quality. read more

Lots of non-dairy options! Half the flavours available were non-dairy. I sampled a few different flavours and each were subtle, not too sweet but very pure in flavour. I ended up getting the Sangria since I've never had it but the pear tasted great as well. They rotate and are constantly changing up their flavours so definitely will be checking them out every so often for new flavours! read more

Came here for the first time today and after this visit I will definitely come for more! The gelato was amazing, super creamy and smooth. Love how it's not that sweet too. There are diary and non dairy flavours, I got to try mango and hazelnut which was super tasty. Mango was very refreshing, while the hazelnut tasted very milky with nutty taste. Would definitely recommend trying the hazelnut because of the unique flavour. The service was very slow but very friendly workers. I like how we were able to order outside and it was very easy to social distance. Prices were typical for gelato places. read more

The name of the shop took the words right out of my mouth. The placement of Love Gelato is exactly where good gelato should be: on Main Street and they live up to it. There's a cute "patio" area that's secluded from the road as well. I loved how dense the gelato was. Large ($7) is perfect for sharing with one other person. The 3 flavours I picked were: hazelnut, mango, and frozen berry yogurt. The hazelnut totally tripped me out because it tasted so rich and so similar to peanuts. Mangos were fresh tasting. Frozen berry yogurt was great too. Tip: If you want more of one flavour just let them know. She packed in the full cup with hazelnut in comparison to the other 2 flavours, which is exactly how I wanted it! Cone has no extra charge read more

I love Love Gelato! I have been meaning to come here since last year but every time I dropped by it was never open... but until now! Spring time is Gelato time! The store itself is really small but cozy. I tried a few gelato and it was smooth...... But I was feeling for a cappuccino but unfortunately they don't have the right glassware: cappuccino mug and can only served in a paper cup.. so I opt of a double espresso instead ($1.50). Eyeing the drink menu, I already know what I am going to order next time: Affogato with Nocciola gelato! That sounded yummy enough for me to come back for a repeat visit! read more
