The ice cream here is still fantastic, 5 years later! It is a small cup of cream with fresh fruit and the ice cream is unlike any other. The rolled part also makes it super creamy as they bang it out on the steel. You get 3 toppings, usually I go with the jelly, one of the popping bobas and a fruit and it's super yummy. It's also a large portion so you can share with someone else. Note it is $9 per cup thigh, pretty pricey! The only thing is, the staff are kind of rude and slightly aggressive when it comes to taking the order and then putting your toppings on. Not the nicest people and makes you feel like you're bothering them when you're ordering... I mean, it's not like we are supporting your business or anything, right? Oh wait. Anyway this is still a nice treat amongst all the boba in the plaza! I'd still probably come again :')
Five years later and its still as good as I remember. This place held a special place in my heart, as I came here with someone I liked at the time, lol. Now that many years have passed, it's become just a tasty ice cream place, so I'm back. I've only ever gotten the Matcha and Oreo mix, finished with Oreos, strawberries, and some chocolate drizzle. This year I added blueberries and a hazelnut chocolate stuffed wafer roll. The Oreo ice cream is essentially a mixture of what looks like liquid vanilla ice cream and oreo crumbles, moreso like cookies and cream. I really enjoy watching the process of smoothing out the quickly solidifying ice cream and the final step of shovelling the flattened layer into several rolls. The taste...you'll have to find out. All i can say is two words: creamy and decadent. And the rolled ice cream is so cold that its somewhat minty, in a good way. Somehow more refreshing in the cold winter air than in the summer, probably because it stays frozen for a lot longer. And..I guess im just one of those people that drinks cold drinks in cold weather :D If you want to order this by a food delivery app but live fairly close to midland/finch, id highly recommend making the trip to go in-store, because it's just so visually satisfying, and you'd also be able to request for more than one flavour in the same order. I was told that Vanilla and Taro is also a delectable mix. Taking one star off because in 2016 they used to offer full Oreo pieces (see screenshot of my past instagram feed) but now its just Oreo crumbles. I guess given how expensive everything is nowadays, that's a fair business decision :/ I was looking to replicate the one I had, but thats really more of a nice-to-have. Anyways, some takeways. I found that the wafer roll is really decadent inside, and it absorbs the icecream very well, so I might forego the strawberry and get two next time.
This is a great spot to try rolled ice cream! I tried the Pistachio flavour and I really liked the pistachio pieces mixed into the ice cream. You get to pick if you want whipped cream or no whipped cream, 3 toppings and either chocolate or mango sauce. To recreate what I picked, say yes to whipped cream, chocolate pocky, a piece of chocolate, a chocolate stick, and chocolate sauce.

Unlike other Thai fried ice cream places, they put the toppings on top of the ice cream rolls instead of integrating them into the body of the ice cream. Got the smores base. In Mandarin it's translated as "biscuit" and it tasted like it (no chocolate, and probably no marshmallow either). You get to choose 3 toppings (extras cost more). I chose mango, strawberry bubble and crushed oreos. I passed on the whipped cream and topped it with condensed milk sauce. The ice cream was pretty good, and it was a good-sized cup.
QQ Thai Ice Cream is located in the now SUPER BUSY Skycity Plaza near Midland and Finch, along with a bazillion HOT & NEW restaurants, bubble tea and dessert shops! It is definitely a food heaven for foodies :D I absolutely loved the toppings and ice cream flavours they have there - a bit more catered towards Asians - like bobas, Pocky sticks, fresh fruits, and Asian flavoured ice cream. I would highly recommend the Coconut Thai rolled ice cream. Each cup of ice cream includes 3 toppings; we topped it with cubed Mango fruit (goes really well with the coconut!), Matcha Pocky sticks and a torched Marshmallow (so good!) Overall, I enjoyed my experience at QQ Thai, and I would definitely come back for more! It does get very busy at night... but the boys working there are very speedy and no time is wasted (though they do look a bit too serious!).
TLDR: Red Dragon is overrated. Try the other ice cream flavours. I have seen good reviews about the flavours of the ice cream, but the only "dragonfruit" flavour I taste is the aftertaste. After the ice cream has melted a bit, I can taste more of the dragonfruit flavour from the chunks that were not blended together. However, the flavour seems incredibly overpowered by the cream that they mix into the fruit. It does not help that dragonfruit has a light flavour and they only used a small cut. Not sure if this is because I ate some of the sweet toppings before digging into the ice cream, but the only thing special about this ice cream is that it tastes more plain than vanilla. The toppings are good and the restaurant environment is cooling and spacious. The service is also very quick and I didn't have to wait too long. Good service but the ice cream is very subpar. I'm not going to mention texture since every rolled ice cream can get you that.

They use real ingredients that they mix into the cream to make the flavours instead of just flavouring or powder and that's what makes the flavours very "real" and strong. You can choose whip cream or no whip cream, up to three toppings included with your order, and choice of chocolate or condensed milk drizzle. For less than $10, I'd say that this is better prices than other specialty ice cream spots. Each time you come, they give you a stamp card. Buy 10 and the 11th one is free. Lots of free parking in the plaza; however, it gets very busy during dinner and weekends. Even so, it's easy to find a parking spot. CASH AND DEBIT ONLY!

Menu: Very simple ordering process, menu is very obviously explained with the flavors then you add your toppings. Then you can upgrade to the premium flavors if you want. I think what is special about this place is the show and picture worthy dessert. The taste is also pretty good, I got the banana one, but it is definitely on the pricier side of ice cream shops. Service: Straight forward easy. They make it in front of you and they are professional. Overall: Prices are a bit higher, but honestly, totally worth it as you come out with a cool picture and story to tell your friends. Give it a try! Highly recommend.
I think a new goal for me is to explore this newer plaza at midland and Finch more because there's so many bbt, dessert shops, and restaurants here. I'm so glad my friend brought me here because I can never get enough of Thai rolled ice cream. They have a nice variety of interesting flavours here written on a huge blackboard including seasonal ones that are constantly changing. Unfortunately, this review was from a visit a few weeks ago so I don't remember what my friend got, but I got a dragonfruit one. You also get a choice of 3 toppings and the price actually isn't bad for the cup you get. Not sure why they have a sign that says debit and cash only, but they accepted credit card no problem. I thought my ice cream could use more flavour hence the one star off (dragon fruit is expensive, I understand that), but I'm definitely going to come back to try other ones. It's super creamy and I like the idea of fresh ice cream being made right in front of you.
We were in the neighbourhood and decided to this plaza. The plaza is made up of almost all eateries and almost all of them from South East Asia. The parking is a bit hard to find on Saturday night, but it was not chaos like other Asian plaza in Mississauga. QQ makes it easy to order as the instructions are quite clear on the wall. Even though there was a lineup it moved quickly and the individuals were making the ice creams quickly. No vegan options sadly. This place had quite a line, I got the green giant matcha, and you can choose up to three toppings so I got the popping boba and the jelly, man oh man, this I think by far is the best rolled ice cream I had so far. The ice cream was creamy and you get a get a strong matcha flavour and with the toppings it was dynamite. I can come here again for sure, it is a grab and go joint, place was clean inside, the ice cream I think was amazing, if you want more than the toppings it's extra but I think they are pretty generous with the toppings. I'm gonna come back here and try the other flavors, the staff were friendly and were efficient and quick. read more

Great little ice cream shop, they makes it right front of you, which is very entertaining and perfect for snapchat and Instagram post. You can put up to 3 toppings and the choice between chocolate sauce or condensed milk on your ice cream. Btw it tasted great! read more

Stumbled upon this while deciding on a bubble tea spot- we ended up getting this instead. It melted way too quickly.. or I'm a slow eater It was super busy when we went, and I think they rushed making my ice cream. Thus it melted quicker. It tasted great, I got cookies and cream and vanilla (basic, I know). I would come back at a less busier time. read more

In the bustle within the Sky Plaza there is a ton of competition between shops selling sweet treats. Thai ice cream around the city is not common so QQ definitely stands out. I've been a loyal customer for a year now and they never disappoint, my go to is their green tea rolled ice cream. Expect this place to be busy on weekend nights or at night in general, taking a potential 15 minutes to grab your order however I believe it's worth the wait. With your order of rolled ice cream comes with a choice of 3 toppings and sauce either condense milk or chocolate syrup. They have a strong lineup of flavours available with some specials like pistachio and dragon fruit all that you can mix. On the weekend they don't allow mixes sadly but that's understandable since it is busy though. I hope to see more variation in toppings in the future but there aren't any complaints at the moment. I always look forward to coming to this location since it's the closest Thai ice cream around for me at least. read more

Come here for the 1 minute "show" or rolling ice cream and presentation ... not much else. I got the Mango Tango. $6.50 + tax. It wasn't anything special. The ice cream tastes the same as at a buffet. It comes with 3 toppings of your choice. But they were stingy. It was such a tiny portion. How many can a tiny tapioca ball cost?? They only accept cash or debit. The place is small. Not much seating, only 3 small tables. read more
QQ Thai Ice cream is one of the busiest spot in Scarborough. Taro Taro ($6.50) came with froot loops, whipped cream, boba and chocolate swirls egg roll. The ice cream rolls did not quite fill the cup. I ate around the froot loops, knowing that there is the laundry list of unpronounceable synthetic chemicals embedded in them. When I initially saw the artificial purple colour of the taro ice cream, I was anticipating disastrous ice cream. It exceed my expectation. My expectation, however, was set relatively low. The most memorable part of my Thai Ice Cream experience was the ice cream ninja who scrape the cold pan to make the ice cream. Aside from that, the flavour, textures are all mediocre. Texture is less creamy than conventional ice cream. Do your health a favor and avoid the froot loops. read more
Thai rolled ice cream in Scarborough! Right now they have 10 flavour options $6.50 + tax You can also mix 2 flavours for $7.50 + tax I couldn't decide what flavour to get so I mixed 2 flavours, matcha and oreo. They make the ice cream flavours separately but roll them together. It has good flavour, you can taste the matcha and oreos distinctively and it is not overly sweet. They have lots of toppings available. I didn't pick my topping but they put strawberries, marshmallows, oreo cookie, cheerios, whip cream, 2 pocky stick (one chocolate, one matcha) and they drizzle chocolate syrup. Came here last night because I was craving it! So far I've tried men n black, cheeze and ferrero rocher. All three flavours were amazing. They add about six rolls in a cup and you get to choose three toppings and a sauce of your choice. Also, they ask if you want whipping cream. One cool thing about this place is watching them make the ice-cream. There's not a lot of seating here, so you might have to take it to go. Last night it was super packed compared to my other visits! P.S. this dessert will fill you up. read more
It has been some time since I went back here. My sibling wanted some ice cream so we decided to go here since it is nearby. We came here just shortly after 8pm on a Monday. No line, no wait time, and available seating. Atmosphere 3/5 Honestly really no change from the last time I came here. Service 3/5 Pretty quick since no line. They did however had to remake my order since one of their lid from their toppings container came off and spilled all over my order. They gladly offer to remake my order, without me asking. Food 4/5 I still like their style of ice cream. I ordered the pink lady with strawberry jelly, strawberry pocky, and strawberry for my toppings with condensed milk and whipped cream. My sibling ordered the S'more galore with mango jelly, marshmallow, and chocolate cigar for toppings with whipped cream chocolate sauce. Overall food versus value, pretty good in comparison to the area. It is cheaper than getting Bingsu within the area. One thing that I noticed from the previous visits that have changed is their stamp rewards program. It used to be seven stamps and the eighth one is free, now it is nine stamps and tenth one is free. read more
I'm really hoping summer arrives with positive news and a much prayed for halt to this ugly pandemic. QQ Thai Ice Cream is known to partake in the 'most important season of the year'. Their rolled up perfections are so good to have while it melts under the heat of the sun, so I'm really hoping that everyone abides by what's clinically prescribed, stay inside and stop the spread, so we can focus on what toppings can go on the Nutella ice cream roll and be socially happier again. read more
I had the green giant which I believe was matcha green tea ice cream. I topped it with strawberries, a peach slice, these tiny yellow balls that burst with some type of citrusy juice. I got the condense milk drizzled over it instead of chocolate sauce. Overall a really refreshing dessert. Not overly sweet like most ice creams. read more

Good. Not the best I've had. I would NOT recommend the S'more flavor as there isn't much of a s'more flavor to it. The mango was good. What I did like was getting to choose 3 toppings and whip cream was free however there wasn't a big selection. The staff were not friendly or cheerful but they did their job and were patient. Just really didn't seem like they wanted to be there unfortunately. read more
This is my first experience having Thai rolled ice cream but I must say I was BLOWN AWAY from the creaminess of the ice cream and the different toppings. I would absolutely recommend anyone who hasn't tried Thai rolled ice cream to try this place. You will not be disappointed. The flavours chosen in my pictures are taro taro and Men N Black. read more
Recently tried their s'mores ice cream. It's delicious! They let you choose a bunch of toppings, and the toasted marshmallow was a fantastic addition to mine. Pretty decent portions too, given the price. Lots of interesting (in addition to more classic) flavours. Service is fast! the roll ice cream is awesome it's cool to watch them chop and scrape an eye opening experience I got the taro and cookies in cream and they were both tasty!! gives you lots of ice cream plenty to savour tbh it's just normal ice cream but looks cool nothing too special but they do give you a choice of I think 3 free toppings only thing that'd make it better is a little cheaper because it's about $7 for one cup read more

When I first started going to this place the ice cream was just decent but it wasn't very special. However, I visited QQ today after a few months and I was very pleasantly surprised. You only need 8 points for a free ice cream (it used to be like 10+) and you can pick 3 toppings now (before it was only 2). I highly recommend the oreo ice cream (men N black) or the mango ice cream. As for toppings, I really recommend the mango boba, even if it doesn't seem like it would taste good with the ice cream flavour you ordered. Also make sure you get the whipped cream and condensed milk as they don't count towards your 3 toppings. read more
After Pmall's version of thai ice cream closed down, my girlfriend and I missed it quite a bit. So we were neatly surprised when we saw that this place opened up here in the plaza that is filled with food, desserts and bubble tea. The ice cream was very good, and it definetely met our expectations in terms of what we wanted to get out of it. They have a nice place to sit and chill, while you eat your ice cream and enjoy the flavor that you chose. We chose the Mango Tango and were happily satisfied. A lot of other customers from what I saw chose the Oreo flavored one, but it really is up to you. The only reason I could not give it a full 5 star is because the toppings were relatively light. You only get to choose 3 toppings and they were pretty stingy on the serving sizes as I think I literally got 3/4 of a whole strawberry and found it pretty funny. Otherwise, my go to ice cream parlor for the next little while. read more

Clean place with unique chalkboard on the wall. Seems like a nice hangout place. A few tables for sit-in. A lot of selections available. Ordered the morning latte coffee ice cream, which was good. Overall 3.5/5 the ice cream is alright. The novelty is in how they roll up their ice cream into swirls, but it doesn't make a difference in the taste. read more
