    Grand opening day
    Chuan C.

iHalo Krunch has many locations over the years. This occasion is their newest with the grand opening on 2023-07-08. It started out as a pop-up a few years ago, and then it was closed because of the pandemic. Now, it is a permanent location. Their signature black cone is naturally coloured with activated charcoal (derived from coconut husk) and hand-rolled daily with a sweet treat at the bottom of the cone (which prevents the bottom from getting soggy and leaky). They serve single flavours, twists of 2 flavours, and combos of flavours. They are a sensation in Toronto! I've tried their ice cream since 2018-11-04 at their popup location on Queen St W. I've been to 3 other locations since that first time, and this location is the fifth location I've visited. We love the smoothness of their ice cream and have tried so many of their flavours! On the grand opening day, they generously gave away a free ice cream cone to everyone all day long! We got a twist of Ube and Coconut Charcoal, on top of Mango, on their signature black cone. Delicious! This location is mainly a takeout-only restaurant, but there is one bench outside. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are no washrooms. There is free and paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2023-225

Had an oppurtunity to try iHalo for the first time wheh they gave away ice cream for their Danforth location Grand Opening. I tried Uber, coconut charcoal, mango and vanilla all in one cone. It was very creamy for the soft serve ice cream and i enjoyed it a lot. I especially liked the combination of ube & coconut flavour.

iHalo Krunch Danforth reopened under new management after a long hiatus. Their soft serve is smooth and the flavours are interesting (favourite is the black on black, least was the manga which i thought was a tad too sweet). I like how they give you the option to swirl all flavours in one cone (and definitely pay up for the charcoal cone). Hope they offer different cone sizes in the future. Overall, iHalo is a definite treat on a hot summer day!

iHalo Krunch offers a refreshing treat in cool colours and friendly service. I visited with my friends for a treat on a hot and humid day. I could easily identify the place, as it used a consistent colour scheme of black and pink, from the signage and the neon sign underneath it, to the interior walls, which looked like strawberry ice cream with chocolate syrup drizzled on top, and even to the outside bench. Inside, it was a no-frills setup, with a counter, ice cream machines behind it, and a fridge for take-outs. There was a large sign showing flavours. I had mixed feelings about some flavour options being scratched off for their new Hojicha flavour. I felt they should have had a separate sign for such things. The server was very approachable and eager to help. She basically said any combination could be done. I tried Black on Black, which was black coconut-flavoured charcoal ice cream, in a cup. The staff efficiently served my ice cream. I liked that paper towels were easily accessible. The ice cream was sweet and refreshing. I didn't know how activated charcoal would taste, but I could definitely taste the sweet, creamy coconut. One thing I noted was that despite it being not very hot outside (23 degrees), the ice cream started melting pretty quickly, making a mess for both of my friends who ordered ice cream in a cone. I chose the cup, so it didn't make a mess. Overall, my first visit to iHalo Krunch was positive. I thought the ice cream melted quickly, but the overall flavour and the experience of visiting the shop were good. If I am in the area, I would consider visiting again to try their other flavours.

This iHalo location is a decent spot to grab some ice cream if you don't mind having it on the go. I went for the Ube Nut flavour. The flavours were intense, and I enjoyed the unique ube and coconut flavour with the striking purple and black colours--the perfect cool down during the summer heat. The taste and purchase process was great and easy breezy. It's a tiny shop with only a small counter to order, with no indoor or outdoor seating within steps away. So take the challenge and find a spot to enjoy the ice cream before it melts in the intense heat. We decided to stand outside on a small side street in the shade next to the Starbucks nearby. The downside to this experience is that they ran out of those signature charcoal cones and I believe I paid the same price without them. I thought the ice cream would be a twist of two flavours, but it's just one on top of the other, unlike the menu or what I had before at another store. A minor thing, though one of the draws of this place is the sharp appearance of their ice cream. Well, at least I can now distinctly taste each flavour alone. Now upon inspecting the pictures of other people's cones, it looks like the sizing is also inconsistent, unless there are different sizes, which I'm not aware of. There are QR code links on the wall and a little flyer about this collaboration with iHalo and *I think* a fitness company for some trial. I asked the employee to learn more, and they were clueless about it and couldn't tell me anything. They said they weren't informed about it, and they just walked into their shift with it all plastered around and said, "maybe I should scan it". Maybe that... it's not too busy anyway, or shouldn't management give them a heads up to inform customers?

You want to try this! Ube Nut in a cone is where it's at, but friends of mine have gotten other flavors and have said they are great too! Where wasn't searing when I was here, but it's nice to get a cone and walk and eat! The line is sometimes longer but again... worth the wait! Give it a try... you'll be pleasantly surprised!

    Yes it does!

I never knew a…read moreplace like this existed in Toronto, although I've always been fascinated by the exterior of this place. This is a frozen dessert emporium! With more ice cream and frozen yogurt flavours than you can imagine. And at least 20 waffle cone and bowl options. Looking at pictures from last year, it appears the waffle cone options change regularly as well. But they don't give you just any ice cream cone. They surprise you with additional toppings! How to feel like a kid again (except my kid who didn't appreciate the extra toppings). When we arrived, there was no line and I thought "why are there three people behind the counter?" From that point on there was a line up out the door. The place itself is a feast for the eyes. There is so much to look at, it's hard to focus on eating. Although ice cream and frozen yogurt are their specialty, they also have Dutch goods, popcorn and a wide variety of drinks. It does feel like a European cafe in the middle of Toronto. Fresh air blowing through the open doors. One interesting thing I learned is that the ice cream is kosher (the frozen yogurt is not?). Someone mentioned it was outlined somewhere on the outside of the building. Also, the only negative feature of this place is the number of bees both inside and outside. As someone terrified of bees, this was a nightmare. Thankfully, there is so much sugar around that they don't focus on anything for any significant length of time. This place is a gem in the city. It does not get enough recognition. You love ice cream? You need to check this place out!

Even with that there are 3 or 4 tables for to enjoy treat and about a dozen Jones and waffle bowl options to choose from. They even carried hard to find speculoos cookies from Holland, a childhood treat, that I 'scooped up' and appreciated. Staff was super friendly and happy to be serving, which was extra nice. A treat and special place for certain, but worth a stop by when your nearby.
