Another amazing experience at kawartha dairy during their promotion of but 1 get one . Chocolate, strawberry, rum raisin, peaches and cream Are still my favorite.
Love coming here, winter and summer!! Despite the lines being especially long in the summer, it's just all part of the summer bucket list experience feel. The interior isn't too big but they do have seats with tables. They also have a large selection of icecream tubs as well, milk, cheese, snacks and merch. One thing I would note, is that depending on the worker, the size of the ice cream varies. Nonetheless, the baby size feels more than enough to me personally. I highly recommend coming, especially during the summer seasons when you're looking for a nice cooling dessert. ALSO!! If you check out their instagram every now and again, they post a BOGO coupon for an icecream cone!
Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream is one of my favourite ice cream shops here in Canada. I've always been fond of their selection, which I always buy at the supermarket. However, this location offers a wide variety of flavours, from classic to unique, as well as seasonal and new additions to their menu. They serve scoops of ice cream or turn it into a milkshake. The scoops are generous, and you might need to share them with someone unless you're a sweet tooth. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. We visited on the weekend, which was very busy, so be prepared to wait in line. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back to buy more ice cream!

Worth the drive, parking is a big issue and whats holding it back from 5 stars (see solution below). I happened to be in the area and decided to try out the new Nanaimo bar flavour. I ordered a small size and the other yelpers aren't wrong when its sized opposite of a small. There is a drivethrough section but is accessible only through Alexander Rd.
Biggest portions ever & so many flavours! You can't go to Newmarket and not get Kawartha's ice cream, when you know their store is located there. Parking is a tight one, small area and lots of cars. They also have a drive through that's so convenient but lines are long and goes out of the lot onto the road with cars waiting to get in. Going into the shop there's lots of seating, lots of fridge space that holds milk, ice cream, cheese, butter and other dairy products. But the star of the show is definitely the line up to get scoops of ice cream! There's A LOT of flavours to choose from and they have sizes of baby, small and huge. I opted for the small chocolate chip cookie dough and cherry thunder and was blown away by the portion sizing. It was HUGE! It's big enough to share with 3 people in my opinion and it was so creamy and delicious, as all Kawartha ice cream is. It's quite reasonably priced and bang for your buck. If you're in the area this is a must try spot - who can say no to some large portion ice cream?
My go to ice cream Pumpkin pie is back for the fall. My go to flavour is pumpkin pie and blueberry treasure ice cream or shake! Service are great staff go crazy on the ice cream scoops! Great shop it does get busy after dinner time but its quick and there also a drive thru A large shop also sells other dairy products. Great Ambiance - lite and clean
This Kawartha Dairy has a great choice of ice cream flavours. The people behind the counter are courteous and helpful. This one is located inside a variety store, so not much of an ambience There's plenty of parking available.
Hands down my favourite I've cream place!! There are sooo many flavours I never know which one to get (I love trying new one each time) but luckily they give out samples to try and the people working there are always ready to serve you. Also. Their baby scoop is MASSIVE. Buuuut they don't allow doing half and half for flavours. Kinda sad but it is what it is.
Strawberry ice cream EXCELLENT. Pralines and Cream EXCELLENT. most these flavours are in stores though.. Nice interior; and a bathroom. Lady at counter was grumpy, but scoopin' cream all day (for years?) can have that outcome. Kawartha Dairy is a great little ONTARIO GEM.
Great selection of dairy products Huge variety of ice cream flavors. My favorites are Muskoka Mocha, Pistachio almond, Mocha almond fudge. I always buy a milkshake when i go there. This place is about 80kM from my house and the drive is totally worth it. Their regular milk is also different ( good different) I would highly recommend it.. Friendly staff Free parking around the facility. Not sure why we cannot find these variations in regular grocery store and couldn't find Kawartha milk as well.
Came here around 3 pm, just in time to beat the long line that followed after me. Their drive thru was closed at the time due to a lack of staff but there was adequate space to stand in line. Personally felt the wait wasn't too long, but I heard some people behind me getting impatient. I appreciate that service remains friendly through it all. My sister and I ordered the Key Lime Pie (resembled the dessert, not to sweet though we wish it was a little more tart, with the highlight being the graham cracker bits) and Creamy Orange (the perfect balance of creamy and fruity, not too sweet) as baby scoops for $3.99 each, but they were quite big! Their ice cream is truly delicious and worth the wait.
Chocolate chip cookie dough was great. The vanilla base was rich & flavourful. The dough was pretty good (though there could be more) & the chips were well distributed. Ben & Jerry's is still better though

Came here to try some ice cream and get some for a party later. Service was fantastic, we got to try a flavor and ended up getting a scoop of that anyways.. should have gotten the kid sized scoop, because I was not expecting this monster. We prepaid for a tub to go, but asked if we can leave in the freezer until we finish our ice cream, and was allowed to do that, so that was nice. Inside is really inviting and just a chill space. read more

Although their ice cream is delicious there is area of improvement for efficiency and customer satisfaction. The serving sizes are generous, got the baby size which is a little bigger than a softball. They did not allow two flavours which is disappointing as I can clearly see they have 30+ flavours to choose from. For two flavours you have to get small or huge. That is a ridiculous amount of ice cream to eat to just be able to enjoy two flavours for a more enjoyable palette. I think they may benefit from having customers pay first and then get their ice cream. Customers who had ice cream cones had to wait in line to pay and their ice cream was melting and dripping onto the floor which made it sticky. Sometimes less is more, in this situation I would have opted to have less ice cream but to be able to enjoy two flavours. read more

I recently came across this ice cream shop and I'm so glad I did! The ice cream was great and i found it interesting that they offered so many different items inside the ice cream shop like varieties of products (milk,cream, chocolate milk, pre-packs, cheese/meat). They also have a drive thru window which is nice! All the workers were really kind and the I love how big the serving size was per scoop! I find other ice cream shops to be ungenerous about little things like extra cups/spoons/serving size but this place is not. The parking lot can get a little busy and there isn't many seats inside. However there are benches outside the shop. I would definitely come by again! read more

Yum!!! Firstly, This place has a DRIVE-THRU!!! I've been here 4 times and every time I've tried a different flavour and this place doesn't miss! Every flavour I've tried is so satisfying! Fresh, rich, creamy ice cream! Definitely the freshest ice cream I've ever had! My favourite so far is the raspberry thunder! And the mint chocolate chip, and the death by chocolate, and Chocolate chip cookie dough, okay, maybe everything I've tried is my favourite! 5 read more

Perfect for a treat, especially on a summer day! Ice cream is very creamy and smooth, good quality. Don't be fooled by their 'baby' scoops, they are super generous; definitely worth what you pay! They offer a very comprehensive list of flavours, and though it took us a while to decide, the staffs were very patient. *They currently don't allow customers in-store due to covid; there's only a drive-through and a window where you walk up to order.* The Pistachio Almond ($5.99+tax) was tangy and the pieces of almond are a nice mix-in. The waffle cone was giant just like the scoops. Wasn't sure what Tiger Tail ($3.99+tax for cup) is when I ordered but it tasted like orange and it was citrusy, reminded me of creamsicles! Both flavours were very refreshing and not overly sweet. We also bought a 1.5L tub of Black Raspberry Thunder ($7.30 after-tax). The bits of white chocolate add a good crunch. Flavour isn't as intense and it's not that sweet either. read more

Husband and I are obsessed with this place. We just moved into town and while we always loved Kawartha ice cream, we did not know we had THE WHOLE STORE right around the corner from us! Happiest place on Earth. We now always have a tub (or two) in our freezer and will get a scoop while we're there restocking to make it a date. They also carry cheese, salami, cookies, fudge, and some groceries. Bonus: if you buy a 1.5L tub of ice cream, you can buy a 4L bag of their milk for only $2.50 (or $2.49?). What a steal! And yes their milk is also amazing. read more

Kawarta Dairy located on 5 Alexander Road off of Davis Dr. Newmarket. Really cool, they have a drive through as well as Lots of parking, and sitting areas. Where do I begin..... With over 20+ flavours of ice-cream which are creamy and delicious. Something for everyone. Moose tracks or salty caramel are just two of my favourites. Cone/cups come in three sizes "Baby- 1 scoop"; "Small - 2 scoops" and "Large - 3 scoops". Bare in mind their scoops are generous. Price points are good $4.50 for a baby cone and $5.50 for a small. I ordered a small waver cone and was surprised at much ice cream I got. And yes it was delicious to the last drop. This location also sells many dairy items from the Kawartha Dairy such as milk, cream, eggs, cheese, and butter. Along the walls houses freezer section of take home tubs of ice cream as well as displays of jars of home made jams, honey, maple butter and baked goods. I plan to go back and purchase a few of these yummy items and of course try a different flavour of ice cream. Don't let your summer pass you by without visiting this location. They are open 9-9 Mon-Sat. 10-9 on Sunday. Extended summer hours they open until 11:00 p.m. read more

How can a person write a Honest review if, they have NEVER NEVER, stepped into Any of restaurants ? I do respect the reviewer's and I appreciate you and your understanding. However, how can you know if these people are not being, Paid to write a review for this establishment? There's a lot of good people Who May take a free meal, or something else like maybe a free coffees or whatever. That's NOT OK. I find it UNETHICAL to accept any GIFTS, or SERVICE , from any one you came into contact with. who may be employed for that establishment. I APOLOGIZE, if you've taken offence to my remarks. I truly am sorry however, it is a REALITY, it is a FACT that GOOD PEOPLE will make this mistake. With out even understanding what they have just done. As far as I know CANADA and the USA have LAWS against This PRACTICE. Now I'm not saying that if you get a coffee, or maybe even a MEAL that you are going directly to PRISON. NO NO That would have happened If we were taking, $000,000.00 Millions, thousands or hundreds and even LOWER. You don't really have to worry too much about it but just be honest and aware that PEOPLE always see and tell Or just GOSSIP or plainly just LIE about what they have believed they witnessed however, what goes in the eyes may not always tell you the truth. 5 stars does not do Kawartha Dairy justice. Hands down the best ice cream I've ever had, and trust me, I've had a lot of ice cream in my lifetime. They have so many flavours, and they're all creamy perfection. My favourite part about them is that they don't make their ice creams overly sweet, so you don't end up getting sick of your ice cream halfway through eating it. It was quite packed on a Monday night at 9:30pm (they close at 10). There was a line of about 15 people when we got there, but the line moved quite quickly. They serve you as an entire group (my whole family was served together), rather than individually, which I think is very effective! I got the baby scoop in a waffle cone, and the scoop was way larger than I had expected. It was the same size as a regular scoop at any other ice cream shop and it was more than enough for me. After seeing the size of my scoop, my entire family also decided to order baby scoops as well. They're way more than just an ice cream shop. They also have jams, pickled vegetables, cheeses, milk, cream, chips, tarts, nuts, and different kinds of fudges. They also have ice cream cakes and tubs of ice cream to take to go. The parking lot is pretty small and can get full, but they have a drive through which helps with the parking lot congestion. There also isn't that much seating on the inside, but they have plenty of benches outside. I will definitely be frequenting Kawartha Dairy to try all of their flavours! read more
