This place gave me Firehall Confectionery vibes because of the ice cream dipping stations. After eating at Levetto right next door in the plaza, some of my friends and I decided to hop over here and try some dessert. I opted not going for any of the "kooky" combinations advertised as they looked WAY too sweet for me. There's only 3 soft serve flavours here. Vanilla, chocolate or twist (vanilla + choco). But in terms of coatings/dips, they have a TON. I spent a good 15 min deciding which dip I wanted to go with. The owner (I presume) was the one who took my order when I walked up to the register. He highly recommended that I opt for a waffle cone if I was going for a classic dip (I was leaning towards just getting a cup). He was so adamant that he threw in the waffle cone for free! Super nice guy and great customer service! Got a medium size, chocolate soft-serve with extra dark chocolate shell/exterior. These scoops are very generous. I prolly could've done with a small tbh since I was SOOO FULL after dinner loool. But yea, I'm glad I went with dark chocolate on chocolate soft-serve because the whole dessert was not sweet at all which I really enjoyed. Decadence in a cone. I always splurge for the kooky cones from Chocolats Favoris because they're so fun & social media worthy. Soft serve ice cream dipped in their signature chocolate fondue - which you can buy separately in store, along with their selection of chocolate truffles and bars. Their cones are definitely on the super sweet side, and they tend to be bigger than you'd expect (I got a small, and it felt like a medium!). Service was also friendly & attentive at this location, with a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. This evening I had a craving for something sweet so I decided to stop by this chocolate shop that I often drive by, Chocolats Favoris. When I first walked in, it was quite bumpin with people inside and out on the patio. The store was bright and filled with sweat treats (chocolates, ice cream, candies) as if you were in a low key version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In the back near the cash register stands their soft serve dip station where they make their delicious dipped treats and ice cream sandwiches. I decided to tryout one of their dipped cones and opted for their "Original Milk" version which included brownie bite, chocolate cookie crumble and dark chocolate drizzle. I also had a choice of soft serve which included chocolate, vanilla, pistachio and strawberry.. of course I went adventurous and chose the "pistachio" flavour. Overall, it was very quite good and they loaded it up with a bit of everything so it was a fair amount for what you're paying for. One personal note, I'm not much of a sweet tooth so the whole combination was a bit dense in terms of sweetness but that's not a knack on the store but more of a heads up for people like me. One other thing, the chocolate dip does harden pretty fast so you're gonna need to really vote into that or break it with a spoon. As for the service, the staff were very nice and fast with orders so kudos to hiring great people! One last tidbit, they have a mystery flavour they release every month and if you guess it correctly on their site .. you can win free ice cream for a period of time, you just have to ask to sample it. I thought this was a fun little activity within the store for engagement. All in all, would I be back .. for sure! It was a fun experience but maybe I'll just opt for the soft serve option next time. Two words: SUGAR OVERDOSE. And this is coming from someone who adoressss anything sweet and sugary. Chocolat Favoris is known for their flavoured chocolate dips. I do like the idea of this place though. It's not just a plain old chocolate dip cone, you get cotton candy dips, salted caramel, dark chocolate.. the list goes on! They also allow you to sample their various dips beforehand. But imo, the dips are just way too sweet. Like you can't even taste the soft serve because that sugarbomb dip completely overpowers everything else. It's also just much too sweet in general, this is the type of sweet that requires you to drink a gallon of hot tea just to finish your dessert. The cones here come in a ton of sizes though - and I totally love that! I definitely recommend getting the Baby cone because eating anything larger might pose a bit of danger to your blood glucose levels. Also, it's kind of difficult to eat such a huge serving of sugary chocolate in one sitting. I'm sure those who have a super super super crazy sweet tooth will enjoy their dip cones. Stopped in to try the dipped cones. We were a group of 5 and we left disappointed. I will give them props that they have menus on paper so you can decide what you want before you get to the counter. Once you order your Icecream you choose the dip at the end. The issue I have is that they are dipping the chocolate so thick it can't even dry before the ice cream starts melting. It was also extremely messy. Still by the end of me eating it still hadnt hardened. I think this is a good concept but it needs tweaking. read more

I'm very excited for Chocolats Favoris to join the neighborhood, welcome! It is located in the SE corner of St. John Sideroad & Bayview (same plaza as Levetto). First things first. Obviously had to try their famous chocolate dipped soft served ice cream! They came in 5 different sizes (baby, mini, small, medium, large) and in a cup or a cone. The mini was actually the perfect size for me as an afternoon craving ^^ Next, you choose the soft serve flavour. You can make it a twist with vanilla if you wish :) The maple twist was very delicious! Unfortunately, chocolate flavour soft serve or chocolate twist can only be done in a cup bc of the softer consistency. And finally, the dip! There are 12 different dip flavours available. You can sample a few before you dive in! I went for the Crunchy Hazelnut dip... very, very tasty. I also enjoyed the Creamy Coffee dip and S'mores dip samplers ^^ TBH, the dip was a bit too thick for me... it would be awesome if they have a lighter dip option aka a thinner coat. This is the best dipped soft serve ice cream shop around. They specialize in chocolate, with a wide variety of products. The main event is the chocolate dipped cones. First you choose the size you want. Then the flavour of ice cream, vanilla, chocolate and 1 special flavour. I have had the maple and keylime offerings. Both were good. After that you can choose to have it dipped in a wide variety of chocolate flavours. There are some basic flavours like milk and dark chocolate and they usualy have 1 special dip flavour. I have had their Ruby and nanimo bar flavours. Yum! Unlike Cocao 70, which is way too sweet, this place's dip is just rich in chocolate flavour. I love the rotating special flavours and usually choose those to try. Once you find a dip you love, you can even buy a can on fondue for home to dip what ever you please!!! Awesome! I came to this place after seeing all the cute Instagram posts of the ice-cream they have and decided I had to try them for myself... This led to the worst sugar headache I have ever had in my life. Mini Birthday Cake Kooky Cone: This vanilla cone was dipped in white chocolate with sprinkles and topped with more sprinkles, a chunk of vanilla sponge cake and pink frosting. If that doesn't sound like diabetes, I don't know what does. I thought the dip was going to be super thin, but I was very wrong. The dip is super thick, almost the thickness of a hershey's chocolate bar and the white chocolate was extremely, unbearably sweet. Small Maple Kooky Cone: I thought the cone would have maple ice-cream but it was just vanilla ice-cream dipped in salted caramel chocolate. It didn't taste anything like salted caramel, it just tasted like milk chocolate. It was covered in popcorn pieces. This was also way too sweet. Service: The service we received was really good. Everyone was really nice and very helpful. Conclusion: this place has overly sweet dips on top of very average soft-serve ice cream. The specialty is the soft serve ice cream dipped in a candy coating coating that hardens. There are a number of ice cream flavors and coatings to choose from, as well as special combos. There are a variety of sizes to choose from and they all seemed pretty large to me. My daughter had the "baby" size and she couldn't finish! I didn't have anything myself so I can't vouch for the taste but my daughter and nephew both thought it was okay. Not fantastic but just okay. The steps to having a cone- 1. Choose your size 2. Choose ice cream flavor 3. Choose dipping. Other items on the menu include gelato, artisan chocolates, slush. sandwiches, floats and frozen bars. There are also a bunch of items for sale too. Chocolates of all shapes and sizes, lollipops, shavings and a variety of fondue flavors in cans. It's beautifully decorated with a very clean look, with factory style tubing (fake) giving that fresh vibe. Even has outdoor seating, however a view of the high street with mass traffic and construction isn't that great in my opinion. So far so good right? Well, I just wish it would be cleaner. I'm going to be honest with this one - it may be because my tastebuds don't want to be anywhere near these kinds of sweets. I don't partake in 'white people desserts' - and by that I mean, overly sweet, sugary and way too much for one stomach. We went here on my birthday as a 'after dinner treat' as we were in the area and f'real, I cannot fathom the fact that people have this after dinner at all and not feel sick. This place is huge but packed in the hot weather. In the winter and off-hours, not so much. When I went, there were a thousand kids running around with sticky fingers, leering adults near the dipping station and people just not controlling their families. It was a huge turn off to begin with. Ordering was fast, waiting took a while because it was just not organized. Staff were making orders and the dipping station with chocolate honestly looked ROUGH - there was extra drippage everywhere and it looked like a kid's finger painting station. There's a special method to dipping and some staff just weren't getting it, messing up orders because they dipped too thick and the whole thing fell off or exploded on the floor before the hand off to the customer, OR worse- one exploded onto a customer as they grabbed it from the staff. It's a hard no from me, dawg. I ordered small and holy crap it was huge. I got a strawberry dipped choc ice cream and wayyyy too sweet for my tastebuds. The strawberry tasted super artificial and the dip was way too thick, if you are not a dessert person, this is not for you. The dip was so thick, it was legit like chewing on a whole cadbury chocolate bar, to the point where I felt sick and headachey after a few bites - am I an old grandmother?? What's going on? Anyway, no dessert should ever make you feel so sick and gross. I ended up chucking it into the trash after a bit and definitely if I come here again for whatever reason, or if my sweet tooth drags me, I'd have to get the smallest size. Baby? I think? It is a soft serve ice-cream so there will be a lot of ice-cream in the cone. I would recommend a small or mini. It is quite a lot of ice-cream. From there, you get to choose the chocolate dip. There are many different flavours, and my favorite was hazelnut dark. Don't worry, you can ask for a taste if you don't know what you like. Then on to the toppings. One of my favourite ice cream places! I had this many times in Montreal and I can't believe I'm only finding out recently that they opened a couple locations here in Ontario. They sell a huge variety of chocolate products but the most amazing part of this store is their selection for chocolate-dipped ice cream! Once you've chosen your ice cream size, you can head over to the chocolate counter and choose the chocolate you want to dip your ice cream in. Of course you can also sample the different flavours before choosing one. You also get complimentary sprinkles or peanuts to add on top if you like! Deciced to give this place a try after having it in my bookmark for awhile. Let me say there is absolutely no parking in this plaza, it's soo busy here. I went on a Saturday evening (8pm) and the line was out the door. What I love about this unique place is that they have different soft serve ice cream you can choose from as your base, you choose the size, then proceed to pick your dip, and your toppings if you like. The base of the ice cream you can choose is vanilla,strawberry, chocolate, twist, and maple. I believe you can only choose to get vanilla as a base if you want it on a cone dip, if you choose other base it must be in a cup... I was told by one of the staff You then get too choose the dip for you ice cream. (12 flavours) here are some of my favourites I would like to try out and name some Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, cookie and creams, dulce de leche, classic apple pie, crunchy hazelnut, cotton candy, salted Carmel) I got the one of the "Kooky Cones" (13 different cones you can get) I got the baby size cookie bites and my bf got the medium size chocolate cookie bites and baby chocolate hazelnut dip. I would recommend getting the baby or small size because the medium size was huge, he couldn't finish it. These guys are definitely generous with their chocolate covered ice cream. They come in many sizes including baby and mini. I got a mini twist with hazelnut coating and it was more than enough to satisfy my chocolate craving. Apparently this is a chain, and they sell a number of other chocolate-related items in the store. I didn't pay much attention since I went straight in for the soft serve ice cream. They offer 4 types of soft serve (vanilla, chocolate, maple...and I forgot the 4th) and then about a dozen dip flavours. I can recall: chocolate, milk chocolate, salted dark chocolate, dolce de leche, caramel, hazelnut and smores. They were out of a few of their dips, but did have the salted dark chocolate which I was very interested in anyways. The ice cream is very good quality and you can taste the genuine cream its made of. The dip was also high quality and another strata beyond DQ. The shell certainly hardens and is considerably thicker than DQ. This was mostly a good thing since you got a good bite of quality chocolate, however it actually made it a bit harder to eat. The salted chocolate had wonderful taste, though I'd say it was sweeter than other salted dark chocolate I've typically had. This could be a good thing for people who aren't into dark chocolate typically, but not necessarily for purists - especially when combined with the sweetness of the ice cream. Personally, I'm not too particular and since it was made of good ingredients I still really enjoyed it. There was a couple dozen people at closing time in the store, so they're off to a roaring success. Sometimes buzz dies down, but considering the weather is getting warmer and that they have such unique, quality offerings, I suspect they'll be going fine for quite some time. Tip: the cones are bigger in person, so a 'small' really isn't that small. With that, and how rich the cone is, you may wish to try that size before anything much larger. read more

I love soft-serve ice cream. However, I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I walked into Chocolats Favoris. I came here to kill some time before meeting up at a restaurant nearby. This place is huge. I felt like I won a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. They have a variety of chocolate products to fulfill all of your chocolate dreams. But let's get real, I was here for the soft-serve. You just have to choose a size and a soft-serve flavor at the cash register. The choice of chocolate dip and topping can be decided at the dipping station. I decided on the salted dark chocolate since the hazelnut praline was out. I was a bit confused about the topping since no where on the signage did it mention toppings, so I skipped out. But next time I will go nuts on the nuts. After receiving the cone, I thought to myself there was no way this was going to freeze like in the photos. It was still wet from the dip when I received it, but a few seconds later, it solidified. The salted dark chocolate was so good, the dark chocolate was bitterly dark and the flavor was enhanced by the saltiness. However, the solidified chocolate turned out to be quite thick that eating the whole thing became a mission. I enjoyed the perfectly thick soft-serve in the middle. I purchased a small cone and that was quite filling. I couldn't imagine ordering a larger size. There's a water fountain near the back tables. However, I couldn't figure out where to get cups. If you love thick soft serve ice cream this is the spot! I ordered the MEDIUM SALTED CARAMEL which was the biggest mistake of my life. Which I should of done was order the baby size or a mini. Because the medium is HUGE believe me, you can notice someone's first time when they weren't aware of the size they ordered. The place was packed at 9:45 on a Saturday night. I didn't know what to expect or what the fuss was all about and damn. The amount of ice cream was unbelievable I was really struggling with the ice cream. My girlfriend got the medium cookies and cream which tasted amazing same problem it was wayyyyy too much ice cream for a medium size. I'm giving it a 5 star because it was really good for the first few bites, and after I had to pull out the spoon because it was too thick. It's on a pricier size the medium salted caramel coated and another medium cookies and cream coated me $17 bucks! If it's your first date and got some dollars in your pocket go ahead! But if your on a budget spending $20 bucks on ice cream isn't worth it. Buyer BEWARE!!! I love ice cream and because I was in the area, I popped into chocolats favoris to check it out. The day's surprise flavour was Cotton Candy which was too pretty to pass up. The concept here is fun and interesting. Choose one of five sizes, choose your flavour of soft serve (vanilla, chocolate, orange, strawberry or maple), and then choose your dipping sauce (12 different sauces available). I chose to get my cone in the mini size ($3.79) since it was my first time trying the #icecream here. I also added on the "kooky" (+$1.49) which includes pink chocolate coulis, cotton candy slivers, and a cloud of pink cotton candy on top. Overall, I found the entire process entertaining and I like how the choices are really personalized to your tastes. Staff here are friendly and walk you through your choices if you're a newbie. The girls behind the counter really do put in quite an effort when making the cone - case in point, I saw one girl behind the counter throw out three different cones because the ice cream kept breaking during the dipping process. However, I can see it becoming a problem if there are a lot of people in line waiting for their desserts. There is a choice of indoor or outdoor seating but beware, there are bees around who will be attracted to your sweet cones... So i recommend to sit inside until you finish your dessert. Tastewise, I found the soft serve to be ok but not extraordinary. I chose vanilla as my base so there's really not much to say about the flavouring. The shell was thick and really helped to keep the cone together so that it didn't melt too quickly. Maybe it was my choice of white chocolate and cotton candy shell, but I found the cone way too sweet and the toppings just added to the sweetness overload. I think I should really stop trying out all the wacky flavours and stick to what I know I'll like. Finally got a chance to give this place a try! Had my heart set on getting a dipped cone but found myself buying some of the lollipops they had by the entrance. The store front is filled with beautiful works of art...chocolate art! There were all sorts of chocolate animals for easter...all very intricately designed. Finally got to try this as it opened for a bit of time already. Loved how they have so many different flavour to choose from. Decided to go with the unicorn and also gelato as they had the pistachio flavour. Loved the gelato as it was so good and creamy, better than gelato from most places. As for the unicorn ice cream it was a bit too sweet and I feel the dip was too thick. I went right after dinner so it was relatively early, but when I left at around 7:30-8 on a hot summer day, the line up was crazy all the way to the door. So if don't want to wait in line, for sure want to go early. Also parking at the plaza isn't the best, I becomes very difficult to find parking. I first tried Chocolate Favoris in Lévis, Québec and on that day I experienced something very special. Their chocolate dipped cones are simply amazing. The ice cream used is silky smooth and creamy, on its own it would be a treat, but dip it into their beautiful chocolate and you have a masterpiece that will delight your mouth and tongue. I had the salted dark chocolate dipped cone and I was so very happy and I wanted to tell everyone about these amazing these ice delicacies. Great place to try out on a hot day with the family - great for photos! I really don't recommend getting anything bigger than the MINI if you plan on getting it dipped, because the chocolate shell is really thick - making it way sweeter than other dip cone places. Heads up, they have a small parking lot - there is a popular restaurant in that plaza as well. read more

Yum and Fun, must try Really really busy on weekends! And not just weekends... but the line moves quickly. They are adding and improving their selection regularly (added "Kooky" ice cream recently), fairly new Cotton Candy chocolate flavour and various flavour ice cream combinations. See new things almost every time I visit. One thing I would like them to have is tea (may be a strange combination with ice cream, but not a strange combination with chocolates) and possibly pastries? We came here for a date night after the movies on Saturday night. It did not look busy from the outside but when we got in, there was a huge crowd on the other side of the shop;waiting for their ice cream! It was only 9:15pm and the place was packed!It was super busy, I think there was 7 ladies dipping cones that night. It was super busy, I think there was 7 ladies dipping cones that night. They had a really cool and unique set up. There was products that you can buy to dip your own ice cream, chocolate bonbons in the front, lolly pops and more. There was like three people taking orders and since it was out first time, we wanted to try the fancy kooky ice creams. My boyfriend chose the medium cone salted caramel and I chose the medium cookie and creams. Right after we ordered, we shimmy our way into the crowd waiting for our ice cream. It was like a half an hour wait but when by so fast because we were watching how they dipped the ice cream and topped it off with the special toppings. When we got our cones, I realized we made the biggest mistake by ordering the medium cone. Our ice cream was HUGE! The coating was a bit too thick and too sweet for my liking. But the soft serve ice cream was the bestest ice cream I ever had! Our cones was heavy and just tooooo much sweets for one person. Next time, we will get the baby cones! The coating for the soft serve was just too sweet, we took a spoon and scooped out the soft serve from inside and then threw out the coating. When we were walking to our car, we also seen a family that was throwing out their ice creams and speaking about how next time they will only get the baby cones, it was pretty funny because that was how we felt too! I'm not really a big fan of sweets or ice cream in general because it gets be super dehydrated BUT I just had to check out what the hype was all about. Chocolats Favoris had so many different flavours to choose from and it took me a good minutes to get over my indecisiveness and pick what I wanted. I got the cotton candy dip ice cream and it was really good. I feel like if I got it smaller then it would've tasted better because at one point the sugar rush was just too much for me. BUT I am not going to ignore the fact that it was delicious. I also tried samples of their various dips so I was already on another level of sugar high when I finally decided what to get. If you liked candy I do recommend getting the cotton candy dip because it is super popular and it is delicious. However, I think it would be best to go with a smaller size because it's just easier to eat and you won't get tired of the flavour. If I ever feel my sweet tooth emerging I will know where to head down too but besides that I don't really engage in sweets like this. It was good will it lasted. read more
