The ambiance is beautiful, the staff is very friendly , welcoming . We went to celebrate our youngest son birthday on a Sunday . Everyone ordered, the pancakes were very good , but the other food was okay , the potatoes Fries were absolutely stale. After we were done they gave a surprise to my son with warm fresh puffs with a candle lit, which was nice , we sang Happy birthday . We have to go again to try the other dishes in their menu .

LOCALE AURORA . . My amazing friends took me to @localeaurora for my bridal shower brunch and everything was amazing. The restaurant was spacious, bright and beautiful. We also had amazing service and the food was all so delicious. . . Fried Chicken and Croffle 3.75/5 The chicken was juicy and tasted delicious with the fruit chutney and maple butter. I was disappointed in the croffle, because it was not a croffle. It was just a waffle. The dish felt heavy with the waffle since the waffle was so dense. Don't name something a croffle when it is just a waffle lol Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict 4/5 Pork Belly Eggs Benedict 4.2/5 Fried Chicken Croissant Sando 4/5 . . Overall we had a very lovely brunch. They even brought us dessert at the end to celebrate

Everything is fantastic. From the start of our dinner, our server Matt was so friendly and nice. We ordered the fried calamari, fresh bread as starters and the main course is sea bass and ragu tagliatelle. Everything was sooo good. Literally. As I was eating the bread I thought wow... I can't stop. Then the calamari came and the rest is history. I would definitely be back for sure. The atmosphere and everything was amazing. Highly recommend a visit.

I would give Locale 3.5 stars. I went to a Locale on a Saturday night with four friends. We had reservations in advance, which I would recommend as the restaurant was very busy. When we got to Locale, we asked to be seated on the patio and the hostess was happy to accommodate us. The patio was very cute, and had fans to keep people cool on hot days. Our waitress was very friendly and engaging, however it did take a while to get our food after ordering. We ordered the beet salad, risotto, casarecce pasta, and the pepperoni pizza. The risotto was by far my favourite dish; it was so flavourful, especially compared to the casarecce pasta which was bland. I was very disappointed with the portion sizes of the beet salad, pasta and risotto. Truthfully, I left the restaurant hungry, which should not be the case if I'm paying $30 for a plate of pasta.

Went here with one of my good friends for a quick lunch. This would be my first time going somewhere in Aurora as I'm not usually in this area. Locale has a nice upscale restaurant vibe, everyone was very professional in the way they greet you and serve your meals. The host at the front was prompt and kind. Our server was very attentive and ensured we understood the menu since they had a lunch set for $35. The chicken filet was a little too crunchy/hard on the outside and salty to my liking. The venue is very spacious, lots of seats and booths. They also offer a patio section. I would come here again but not rushing to go back at this moment.

Food was amazing but service was above and beyond! Hubby booked for my surprise bday dinner, unfortunately hostess gave him a lot of grief for our large group so he was not happy about that. But the food and service on day of definitely made up for it. My favourite was the funghi pizza, funghi pasta, and amaro salad. I didn't really enjoy the veal cause it was on the sour side, but overall would definitely recommend!

Our fav restaurant in Aurora! We were seated on the upper floor and it was great. Not too loud, spacious, at least I could hear each other talking without yelling lol Food came quick and it was delicious. The waitress offered to give more bread for the mussels, which was really sweet of her. Everything was so tasty especially the mussels! The spaghetti was a little bit spicy but still good. It's a must try!

We came here for my work's Christmas dinner and it was delicious! There were a variety of dishes to choose from. The pasta was soooo good and look at how pretty this drink is!

Stopped by here for a celebratory lunch and it did not disappoint. Our table of 8 ordered a bunch of dishes to try such as the calamari, the arancini balls, lemon artichoke pasta the steak and more. All the dishes were very flavourful and reminded me of some of the top and popular Toronto Italian eateries (but even better). The prices were on the higher side for the portion size but you really taste the quality and care that the chefs put into the dish. The service was great but, it was a little on the slow side so if you are looking for a quick lunch, this might not be the place for you. I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes!

I made a last minute reservation to have a family celebration at Locale Aurora based on all the positive reviews. Upon arrival, we were greeted by very friendly staff. We got seated in the additional section patio. It was airy and nicely decorated. Although the setup wasn't as fancy as the regular patio, it was pleasant and comfortable. Sunday was served brunch only. We got our drinks and ordered our food. The server gave us a friendly reminder that the steak would take 30 minutes so we could order some snack to start with. I would highly recommend to get some bread, toasts, croissants to start with because it really awhile for our food to arrive. We had Steak and Eggs, mash burger, Benedict, and Smoked salmon platter. I have to say we enjoyed all the them. The quality was good. The presentation was nice. They are above average of most of the brunch places I have been. Price point is average and reasonable. The service was attentive and we had a great time there. I am so glad that there is an option near home and I would love to go back for lunch or dinner.

Paccheri Funghi

Awesome stuff! Came here on Saturday for lunch and booked through Opentable, though the place had plenty of seats. Ambiance is really good, it's well lit and just good vibes. Ordered the Grilled Calamari to share which included some spinach, red onion and tomato and then ordered the Paccheri Funghi, which was a mushroom, garlic truffle pasta. I thought the calamari was excellent (squid game anyone?) it was seasoned well and had great flavour. But the pasta for me was just alright. Your typical pasta from an upscale-ish Italian joint. No complaints. Would be 5 stars if the pasta had a bit more flair to it. Really solid place with great service, atmosphere and decent food.

First of all, the service from our server Matt was excellent. Very professional, genuine and attentive service. The decor is elegant with a black and white theme. Black leather sofas with a granite tabletop. Food was also amazing with a good variety of options for appetizers, mains, pasta and pizza. Pricing is also reasonable. I do believe the dessert menu has room for improvement though. We ordered the Pate (Foie + Chicken liver), it comes with a large jar of pate topped with olive oil and rosemary. It is very smooth and a little bit of the Fig jam enhances the flavour as well. Fried calamari and shrimp is also very crisp and fresh. The meat of grilled hen is surprisingly very moist - it comes with grilled potatoes and beans underneath the meat. Funghi pizza has mushroom topping with truffle oil. Good strong truffle oil flavour and the pizza is also soft and thin.

My wife had two Apps instead of an entree; Portobello stuffed mushroom & grill calamari which she really enjoyed. I had the veal portafolio which was a great preparation and good variety of complimentary vegetables on the plate, plus a very savoury dish, made to order. I brought a group of 12 for a birthday dinner, and from the moment we arrived, we were treated with utter contempt by a server named Gustavo, who apparently also owns the establishment. The disrespect started immediately. While we were simply organizing our seating (before even ordering), he became visibly angry and hostile. After our appetizers arrived, he completely abandoned the table. Our used plates were never cleared, we were never asked how the food was, and we waited over an hour for our main courses. When we tried to order another round of drinks while waiting, Gustavo told us he was "way too busy" to take our order and that we "needed to figure it out" despite us being ready to order. When I politely mentioned that I hadn't ordered an appetizer and was very hungry, asking if my pizza could come out, he snapped, "You will get your order when all the others come out. I'm not going to push ahead your order for that." The "owner" then had the audacity to lecture us, raising his voice and telling us, "this is what I mean with you guys," because we had adjusted our seats at the beginning of the night. When I finally asked for the bill to escape the situation, he brought me someone else's check. When I pointed out the error, he blamed us again, laughed in our faces, and scoffed. When we told him we wanted to speak to someone above him, he condescendingly told us, "You're not in this industry, you don't know." Save your money and go somewhere where the staff, and the owner actually value their customers. Gustavo is unprofessional, disrespectful, and has no business being in the hospitality industry. Absolutely disgusting behavior.

Upon entering, you'll notice it's not the biggest restaurant but they use their space efficiently to maximize tables. Their drinks were a good pour, came nice and stiff. Cesar salad was salad and homemade dressing. Dressing was fresh with a hint of mustard. I enjoyed that slight variation. Didn't come with Parmesan cheese or croutons - not sure I'm in for or against that as of yet. Pastas were good. Had a spaghetti carbonara and a farfalle carbone which had smaller sized tiger shrimp. A little pricy for what it was but still really amazing food.

However, I…read morecan't tell you how unwelcome I felt the moment my family (me and my two kids) stepped foot in this restaurant. On a Wednesday evening just past 8:00pm, we arrived at the doors of the restaurant and was greeted by I presume the owner of the business who mumbled something along the lines of them getting ready to close shop. And if we are dining in we should make it a quick one. This is despite the fact, that they were scheduled to close at 9:30, both according to their sign and Google. Anyways, we were seated by the owner and eventually served by the server. To be objective the server was courteous and generally competent, however, he did fail to top up our waters throughout the duration of the meal. Food wise it was above average. The Caesar salad was quite different from most restaurants where there's no croutons, no bacon and no shaved cheese. But I thought it was enjoyable and I like the fact that the salad had traces of anchovy taste. The Margherita pizza was alright. The tomato sauce was refreshing and the cheese tasted right. The flour had a a pretty good floury taste, but the body of the pizza could be a bit more well done. My favourite part of the meal was the Bucatini All'Amatriciana pasta. It's an interesting pasta texture that I've never experience before; clearly homemade. The guanciale gave the pasta a nice umami taste. However, the above average food was not enough to overcome the unwelcoming feeling that hung over us. One thing I forgot to mention is before the meal, I had a couple pieces of garbages from my kids that I wanted to dispose of. The washroom had no garbage bin and on the way out they had a box that resembled garbage bins in a fast food restaurant. I mistakened it for a garbage bin and after I disposed of the garbage, I was told by the same owner that it was not a garbage can. Although I wouldn't say he was totally rude, the statement was blunt and the facial expression and body language pretty much gave it away. One thing that was positive about the experience was at least their transparency toward their non-participation in the tax break government initiative. They had a sign posted right on their main entrance. Mi Casa, Sous casa... my AXX... no wait that's Spanish. Whatever... you know how I feel about Casa Carbone.

The atmosphere was polished without feeling stiff, elegant but still very comfortable, and on the evening we visited it was pleasantly calm rather than crowded, which made the whole meal feel even more enjoyable. The staff was also very friendly, and that warmth added a nice personal touch to the experience. We started with a few dishes to share, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. The pasta was rich, comforting, and full of flavor, the lamb was tender and satisfying, and the fish was beautifully cooked with a nice balance of freshness and smokiness. Even the presentation had that refined look without trying too hard. By the time dessert arrived, I was already happy, but it ended the meal on such a cozy note. Overall, this is the kind of place that feels elegant and understated at the same time. Definitely a great spot near Oak Ridges when you want a dinner that feels special but still relaxed.

There's only a couple pastas I haven't tried yet. Oh yea, they also removed the smoked prosciutto pizza off the menu (BIG SAD). It was such a TASTY pizza when I had it at the Thornhill location. Pepperoni pizza - Big sized rectangular shaped pizza. The dough was terrible, it dense and tiny bubbly, kinda like baking soda was the leavening agent... I would describe the dough as a dominos thin crust with baking soda added. As for toppings, I would have liked more tomato sauce and cheese to balance out the crust. Would not recommend getting the pizza here. Pistachio Funghi pasta - I only had a couple bites but the pasta was cooked well. The pistachio funghi sauce was tasty as well, pistachio bits added a bit of crunch to the pasta which is nice. A bit pricey but nice to try. The restaurant is brightly lit with lots of natural sunlight, the decor is a mix of elegance and rustic at the same time. It's got an open and inviting feel. Our server was fantastic - very patient with a large group like ours, able to tell us right off the bat what is and is not customizable, recommendations of when to order to ensure flow works out. Food: Charbroiled octopus - one of my favorite dishes I tried - perfectly cooked, has a nice char, good meaty bits but not chewy, has a really nice chili oil on it. I can not stress how much I recommend getting this if you enjoy seafood. 5/5. Chorizo appetizer - comes out in a little pig plate with an open flame underneath. The chorizo itself is good with a nice spice, dense meat. The best part of this dish (IMO) is the spiced apple sauce on the side that cuts the richness of the sausage with a sweet and tangy apple and a little spice kick. 4.5/5. Bread - fresh baked bread with butter, a pumpkin jam and cheese. Everything on that plate works so well together. I definitely recommend this as an all rounding pleasing appetizer - 5/5. Beets - the beets were fresh with a vibrant orange colour. The apple, walnut and goat cheese all work together. I do wish this dish had a bit more but it works. 4.5/5. Brussel sprouts - amazing deep fried brussel sprouts - makes me want to always deep fry them for life. The spicy harissa sauce works well with the sprouts. Crunchy peanuts on top add both a texture and nuttiness that is refreshing to the brussel sprouts. 5/5. Oysters - super fresh, absolutely delicious without any condiments needed. Loved them. 5/5. Paella - this is definitely large enough for 2 people to eat so consider sharing unless you have a monster appetite. As with all their plates, it is beautifully constructed. The shrimp are huge and meaty. Mussels are plentiful, lots of chorizo and bay scallops. The rice has that really nice briny seafood flavor from the broth. It was just a teeny tiny bit overly salty to my taste but it's cut with the dollops of sour cream. Has this really nice low level heat that just works without burning your mouth. 4.5/5. Lamb sirloin - great crust on the lamb and cook as well. Flavorful sear and crust on the lamb with a soft tender meaty interior. Can't go wrong with- 5/5. Branzino - delicious flaky and light with a great grill. If you're interested in a fresh fish, this is a good choice. Was a special on the menu - 5/5.
