We went for this super comforting meal @scaddabush on Boxing day and can't stop thinking about their chocolate panettone bread pudding since! The toasty bread was perfect for the snowy weather, toffee caramel drizzle wasn't too much, and the candied walnuts was a genius addition. We always get their kale salad and gigantic meatball spaghetti with an extra meatball whenever we go, this time was no exception. We've also ordered their limited time festive blood orange and cranberry bellini. It was a tasty punch; just too bad the glitter sank to the bottom, or it would have made a better photo. I was a bit disappointed because I asked specifically which of the Christmas cocktails looked prettier, and was told the glitter makes it really festive. Later in conversation the server said the liquid glitter sinks to the bottom so customers can only see the glitter when the drink is almost finished. So I suppose it was known to the staff. We picked this restaurant for a team dinner. There were about 15-16 people in the group. We made reservation few day prior to ensure the availability. Upon arrival, we were promptly taken to our giant long table. I was also very impressed by the interior of the restaurant. It was appeared like farmhouse setup, with wooden frame and arches, brick walls and a big size bar. I got to try some of the hand stretched mozzarella dishes like naked. It came with butter toasted bread and sea salt. The mozzarella was so delicious, such good quality. I kept eating it until the entree arrived. I got the Mediterranean salmon for entree. The fish was cooked excellently. Moist in the middle. But some of the ingredients, especially the white beans didn't go well with the salmon. I left of it in the plate, just ate the fish and the spinach. I ordered the pineapple mango (spirit free) drink. Loved the flavor of it. Our server was such a champion. He handled this huge group of diners with ease, took everyone's drinks, appetizers and entree orders correctly, not a single error. They have a lovely patio at this location, with lush green vines, creating a canopy over most of the patio. It's like you're suddenly transported to an Europe country side. The Mushroom Truffle Mafalde and the Spaghetti & Meatball were both very good and filling (I ended up bringing home about half of the mushroom pasta). We came on a Saturday at 3:30/4, and we could tell that they were prepping for a dinner rush - they asked us if we would sit at a high top (not the best seats) when there were tons of tables available. I dined out here a few times and enjoyed their food and service every time. The renovation is nice with portrait paintings hanging inside. Recently I tried their mozzarella cheese with toast, goat cheese and beet salad as well as spicy mushroom pizza. All were supper yummy but expect some greasiness of the main dish here. I had to skip dinner after eating lunch here. Portions for all dishes were large. The salad was refreshing withd decent portion. The mushroom pizza was very cheesy. If you cannot handle spicy food, you can simply pick out the pepper. The remaining part was not spicy at all. The mozzarella cheese was the best one I've had in town. We fought for it. One of my favourite go-to spots for a relaxing & filling Italian meal! As a cheese fanatic, I can't get over their freshly made mozzarella. The margherita pizza was fantastic -- not sure if they changed it a bit since the last time I ordered it because the presentation looked different, but taste-wise, it's still great! The dough had a nice bite to it, and the crust wasn't too thick. I also opted to try one of their mocktails this time too at the recommendation of my server (who was super attentive!). Scaddabush is a chain restaurant and feels like one. However, their freshly made pasta is worth going for. This location is quite large and we've never had an issue getting a seat. I'd recommend a reservation just in case and especially on a Friday or Saturday night. For pastas, they have an individual portion and a sharing-sized portion. I find that the portions are on the small size and the sharing-size portion could work for two if you each get an appetizer. If you asked me to choose one dish to recommend....I'd say the Zucca Ravioli. It's not a pasta dish you're going to find everywhere and it stands out. I find the food expensive for what you're getting. I don't believe you could eat here for less than $50 per person if you want to leave feeling full. It's a noisy place too. It was a long weekend so it was busy, but service was still attentive which we appreciate. The sausage and fennel pasta has always been our favourite, but it use to be made with fettuccine. Last Wednesday, I heard that Scaddabush had an Uber Eats BOGO deal on its zucca ravioli. This deal interested me. I did a search and found that this location in Richmond Hill offered it and had takeout. Yes! I placed my order for zucca ravioli. I also ordered some tiramisu. My estimated pickup time was twenty minutes from downtown Markham. It was perfect timing after I had completed my grocery shopping. This Scaddabush is tucked away in an area with some large eateries, such as Jack Astor's and Moxies. I had no problem using a roundabout and finding the restaurant. The problem is the parking lot. You do need to be careful because it's not set up in a grid pattern. Frankly, I can't tell who designed this chaos where the driving lanes aren't intuitive. Some people make up driving rules and roads as they go, so beware. I parked closer to Scaddabush's patio than its main entrance. It was a warm evening. I admired how pretty the patio was. I then walked over to the doors and into the eatery. I stood at the reception area. I had a helpful woman let me know that takeout orders are all the way at the back of the restaurant, by the kitchen. I thanked her and headed over there. It was nice to walk through the restaurant. It's pretty with wine bottles proudly displayed, high windows that provided a lot of natural light into the eatery, and a huge head of some guy. I got to the kitchen. It still wasn't obvious to me as to where I should go. A woman looked at me with a friendly smile. She was the person that I needed. I let her know that I had an Uber Eats order. She nodded with a huge, shatterproof smile on her face and fetched my two paper bags of food. I thanked her, wished her a nice evening, and headed out with my goods. Scaddabush separates your hot foods from your cold ones. It makes sense. I'm so not used to it. My ravioli was in one bag and my tiramisu was in a smaller one. I drove home and looked forward to dinner. I had one of the ravioli entrees that evening and the other the next day for dinner. I learned that zucca ravioli was short for hazelnut zucca ravioli. Each ravioli had roasted butternut squash as filling. There were cubed pears, brown butter alfredo, hazelnut butter, and fried sage. I added mushrooms because mushrooms are life. The ravioli was delicious. The pasta exterior was perfectly cooked. The roasted butternut squash had good flavour. I loved the cubed pears that brought a bit of natural sweetness to the dish. I loved the brown butter alfredo and I'm normally not a cream-based sauce person. I popped it in the microwave for fifteen seconds, and it was the perfect temperature and consistency. The fried sage was cool. I need to do that more often in my cooking. The hazelnut butter had some crunchy hazelnut bits, which I enjoyed. I'm so glad that I got sauteed mushrooms. I didn't have any meat in this entrée, but the mushrooms made it feel like there was some meatiness to it. I am a huge fan of tiramisu. It was delicious. The espresso flavour was perfect. The lady fingers soaked up the espresso without sacrificing its structural integrity. The fingers were still moist, but didn't crumble away on me when I took a fork to my dessert. I loved the mascarpone with some dark chocolate pieces and dusted cocoa on top. I'd get this dessert again. My second zucca ravioli tasted equally as yummy the following day. You do need to stir the alfredo sauce more when you heat it up the next day. The oil and white sauce tend to separate a day later without any intervention. I loved my food here. I look forward to getting the spaghetti with meatballs next, even though the ravioli was outstanding. I'll be back for more good eats. (159) read more

I had high hopes despite the reviews. The food was extremely oily. I couldn't even eat it! I have eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants and your food is not oily! I mean everything was oily. I am not sure if they don't drain the meat prior to mixing it with the sauce but it was so oily that I couldn't even eat it. I recently visited with my gf on Canada Day. This Scadda is located on York Boulevard in the same plaza as the Keg, Desitny and Chako. There is a ton of parking but on weekend nights, the entire lot is usually packed. As far as chain/franchise italian restos go, Scaddabush actually makes really solid pasta. Some of the flatbread pizzas are great (not all of them), but the pasta orders are very, very decent portions and the pasta is cooked al dente consistently. Spaghetti Carbonara: Made the proper way w/o heavy cream but they try to fancy the dish up a lil bit w/ extra bacon, chives and I actually really enjoyed the poached egg buried in the center of the pasta bundle. That was a pleasant surprise and the yolk made the sauce even creamier. Chicken & gnocchi: The gnocchis were made really well! It was like biting into mini, soft pillows. The truffle oil was fragrant and the chicken breast was very moist. I could taste the wine in the sauce and in the aftertaste of the mushrooms. The only thing keeping me from awarding 5 stars is basically price. As a dish is basically $20-30 which is in line with downtown Toronto priceyness. In my opinion, a pasta dish should be just below $20 (even after factoring in inflation). read more

I've never been to a Scaddabush before (I'm from the USA). We were looking for Italian and decided to give it a shot. Where I'm from our Italian food is very distinctive and the cuisine here is different than that, which turned off some of my family. Nonetheless, I give this restaurant my strong recommendation. I'll explain. Ambiance: It was a bit loud, but not oppressively so. The interior seemed trendy and fun. Service: Our waitress, Nika was delightful. Very cheerful and helpful with menu choices. But it's how they dealt with our complaints that earns this location an A+ for service. First my son ordered a dish from the Summer menu which clearly said: chicken, sausage, Alfredo sauce. But when the meal came it was red sauce with a few dollops of white. Odd. Our server acknowledged the issue and helped my son choose a similar dish with a modification to get him basically what he wanted. That's normal good service. Then a couple minutes later the kitchen manager came out to acknowledge the confusing menu, apologize, and make sure my son got exactly what he wanted. Wow. Ok. We felt like they really cared that we felt taken care of. Then, my wife only picked at her pasta (not because it was bad, but because it just wasn't her style). When it came time to pay, our server said she had noticed that my wife really didn't enjoy her dish and they took like 15% of the bill! My wife at half of her food and the discount they gave (without us complaining or even mentioning it) was more than the cost of her dish! This place clearly cares about customer satisfaction. Food: The dish we sent back was the Chicken and Nduja spaghetti. It looked fine, but was described on the menu as Alfredo sauce and instead came with red sauce and 4 scoops of a very thick "Alfredo". Just know this if you plan to order this dish off their summer menu. It was replaced with sausage and fennel rigatoni, subbing in white sauce. This was good. The sausage was a bit spicy, which I enjoyed. The crunchy fennel wasn't objectionable but seemed out of place. My other son got the Rigatoni Bolognese. The sauce was hearty, with chunks of meat and vegetables. Oddly, my son ran out of rigatoni before he ran out of sauce. Usually if a restaurant is going to cut corners it's not going to be by cutting the pasta (the cheapest possible ingredient). Anyway, the sauce by itself could be eaten with a fork and was delicious. I had the chicken gnocchi. The chicken was... fine. It's chicken breast. The gnocchi were well prepared and the creamy sauce topping the dish was loaded with garlic, which I appreciated. Great dish, would order again. My wife had the Chicken and Shrimp, subbing Alfredo for the spicy cream sauce. The protein on this dish was fine and it was loaded with bacon chunks. This dish came with an herb infused pasta that my wife did not care for. My son and I thought it was great. She didn't eat the pasta but I took it home for later. You should definitely give this location a try, if for no other reason than their dedication to customer service. read more

Came here on a Saturday evening and got seated at a booth. We like that it's very spacious here so even if there are a lot of people, you don't feel like it's really crowded. Our server Daniel did a really good job answering questions, checking dietary concerns with the kitchen, and introducing specials and deals. He told us about the Inspired Rewards Program that gives you 15% off the next time you come and other discounts every four times you visit. We actually forgot about it but signed up years ago so it was nice to be reminded. We ordered the Bruschetta Fresca, Straight Up Meatball, and Chicken & Shrimp. These are usually what we order every time we come or when we get takeout and the quality is just as good for takeout. The Americano Pizza is also worth trying and is what we order all the time too when we want pizza. The Bruschetta is perfect on a hot, summer day. The bread is soft yet crispy and the tomatoes are refreshingly cold. We ate the meatball next and although it arrived at the same time as the bruschetta, it was still steaming hot inside when we ate it. The other two things are really delicious too and I definitely recommend. Some of the pastas can be a little heavy so sharing the plates would be a good way to try different things! For the Chicken & Shrimp, we asked to just have chicken and not shrimp this time and they're able to accommodate that.
