The pasta tastes just like I remember it at the Dufferin location in Thornhill Woods. The pizza however, does not. Idk if it's just this location, but the pizza really was a miss here. The dough was missing crunch and the sauce didn't taste super fresh. I would stick to ordering pasta at this location. Also ordered tiramisu and it was just ok imo. The tiramisu was still a little frozen in the middle lol. Overall, I think the Thornhill Woods location is better but if I'm in the area I'll order pasta here again. Came because my friends wanted to come after having it at another location. First impression is that the restaurant seems to be more setup for takeout, but has about 5 tables for dine in. You come in and order at the front then take a seat if you're eating in. Considering this, it takes a surprisingly long amount of time (15 minutes or so) to get your food. Pepperoni pizza - Big sized rectangular shaped pizza. The dough was terrible, it dense and tiny bubbly, kinda like baking soda was the leavening agent... I would describe the dough as a dominos thin crust with baking soda added. As for toppings, I would have liked more tomato sauce and cheese to balance out the crust. Would not recommend getting the pizza here. Pistachio Funghi pasta - I only had a couple bites but the pasta was cooked well. The pistachio funghi sauce was tasty as well, pistachio bits added a bit of crunch to the pasta which is nice. A bit pricey but nice to try. After looking at reviews, I think my experience should only be limited to the Aurora Levetto. Will have to try else where to get another Levetto experience. read more

Brace yourself. 5 orders of takeout penne alla vodka. $135. If you don't want sausage subtract $5 per portion. I'll get to that later. The portions are big so right off the bat that is a good thing. Unfortunately that's about the only good thing. Everything else from there on out is a downhill slide. I asked for al dente we got overcooked. The vodka sauce is not vodka sauce it's a tomato sauce with cream and it's quite Bland. I opted for the sausage for $5 more and what did I get? 9 dry, thinly cut slivers of sausage which when stacked together amounted to less then half an Italian sausage (see photo) i believe in second chances. Winter Kale and Pear Salad Lots of Kale, the dressing was light and on the side so you were able to put as much as you want. Nice slivers of grana padano and the pear slices were sweet. I personally don't like salads, but this was good. 8/10 Beef Ragu I was super excited about this because they braise the chunks of beef in this tomato sauce. Honest opinion? I had better. The pasta is fresh and cooked al dente (amazing). The sauce was nothing to be excited about. The marinara sauce was overwhelmingly tangy. But that was it. It was tangy and salty. The beef was very good in that it was melt in your mouth tender. Usually when i eat good pasta, I can't stop eating it. I want to keep shoving it in my mouth. I had a few bites of this and had enough. The portion was quite large though. Enough to definitely feed two or three people. 4/10 Soppresata pizza Surprisingly, this was very good. Their dough is amazing. Not too greasy but flavourful. The soppresata balanced out the tangy pizza sauce (which tastes the exact same as the pasta sauce), the basil and the fior di latte. 8/10 This was quite pricey, i think, for what you got. Nice little dining establishment in the north end of Aurora. When my friend and I got there there was 1 or 2 other tables occupied. Once we got settled the seats started filling up quick! It seems to be a popular place to get takeout. Lots of people coming in to pick up their orders. In terms of service, a lady dropped off menus at our table, we went to order and pay and get our own utensils and glasses of water. Someone did walk through the tables to make sure that all the customers had everything they needed. Since my friend and I had ordered at different times we got our food separately. If you want to be served together, order together. The ragu was absolutely delicious and the portion is quite large. I had enough pasta for lunch the next day. Next, you must place your order at the cashier, kind of like a fast food joint aka McDonald's. Then you take your seat and they will serve you your food and water. I know! Quite tricky. I ordered the arugula salad - must get! It's fresh and delightful. Not too much oil and vinaigrette. Just the right amount of apricots and toasted almonds to finish the salad with a good bite. Considering I have never been to any of the Levetto establishments I had heard good things from my friends that it is a place to visit. We walked in and there was NO GREETING what so ever. We didn't know if it was a seat yourself or a order first place, so we sat down at the first available table. That is when a waitress had come by and gave us menus -- when you guys are ready just go over there to order. Interesting interaction I must say. Think about this. Three females, two pastas, three pizzas a salad and a bottle of wine. I must say we definitely wanted to try everything out! The gentleman who took our order was very pleasant and helpful. His input was most definitely appreciated. We ordered: Panzanella Salad, Bucatini, Carbonara, Patate Pizza, Funghi Pizza and the Affumicato Pizza. (Keep in mind we did it "family style" and we had the pizzas in a small size) The best dishes based on our opinions were the Panzanella salad and the Funghi PIzza. They were both something I would return for because that would be a craving for me. The other dishes were just meh. Finally some solid options for lunch in Aurora! Working up in Aurora and trying to find spots for a quick lunch (take outs) is hard to do but I was so happy when I saw this place was open! According to the server it's been open for 4 months! It's a bit hidden as the strip plaza they are building is right now mainly empty and this is kinda tucked in (it's located right across the Loblaws Superstore on Bayview). For a quick takeout I ordered the small (4 pieces) pizza - Margherita pizza. I like simplicity and the hints of basil and the headiness of the sauce. 4 pieces is good enough for me to tide me over until dinner. I've definitely been on an Italian food kick lately and while my mouth is thanking me, my mid-section certainly is wondering what I'm doing ... but no one listens to my midsection. It's the ugly, fat kid that no one likes and always kills the vibe when the rest of me is enjoying something amazing - like the food from Levetto. Now, many people might automatically think Pizza when they hear Levetto, but they've got pasta and I would dare say their pasta is more authentic and better tasting (to my palate) than their pizza - but the pizza is pretty good still. Cutting right to the chase, I peeped the menu items and saw a dish I typically make at home and was intrigued enough to see if it performed as well as the best I've had, and of course (brushes shoulders off) my own. Sugo or salsa all'amatriciana is a traditional Italian pasta sauce based on guanciale (cured pork cheek), pecorino cheese from Amatrice, tomato, and, in some variations, onion. Originating from the town of Amatrice (in the mountainous Province of Rieti of Lazio region), the Amatriciana is one of the best known pasta sauces in Roman and Italian cuisine. (Taken from Wikipedia) To those trying to figure it out, it's almost like a penne alla vodka rose sauce except without the parmigianno and heavy cream. In absence of guanciale, it's not uncommon to use pancetta, or even bacon. They use bacon (and LOTS of it). No complaints what so ever. Portion was very filling. Overall, this was spot on. The best I ever had came from a restaurant in Windsor where the dish was cooked table side, so you really cannot beat that. But for the price and the convenience of not having to cook it myself, I'll be back to Levetto for this dish often. I've eaten here a few times for sit-down as well as well as take-out. FOOD: The portion sizes appear somewhat larger for the sit-down dishes, and thus likely of better value - it's possible the shape of the take-out container skews this though. The Penne Alla Vodka is one of my go-too dishes here, as the sauce is always quite flavourful. In contrast, the Pistachio Fettucine and the Carbonara were a bit too bland for my taste. Disappointingly their salad menu is seasonal, and much more limited during winter months (i.e. basically just garden or caesar, if I recall correctly). SERVICE: The time to receive dishes has varied, but has definitely felt slower than expected on at least a couple occasions. This is likely due to the limited number of staff that seem to run the kitchen. They are friendly enough though. ATMOSPHERE: Cafeteria style dining, but with more comfortable seats. Food was 3/5, but the service brings them up to a 4/5. My acquaintance and I ordered the Carbonara pasta and the Funghi pizza. My acquaintance unfortunately did not want to share the dishes cause she doesn't like pizza (WHAT?!) so I ended up only having a few bites of her Carbonara. From the few bites, I thought the pasta dish tasted quite "homemade"--It was good, but there wasn't enough salt (and I usually prefer lower salt dishes) which I believe made the dish lack flavour. The Funghi pizza had a very lovely mushroom smell and flavour (I might even describe it as a "truffle" flavour) that I really enjoyed. There was the right amount of toppings and cheese and it was quite delicious. As others have noted, their crust is not your usual thin crust; I would describe it as a flatbread with the spongey/sourdough bread texture (without the sour taste, of course). The crust gives the pizza an interesting twist, but does not taste like much. Overall, I've probably had a better version of both dishes elsewhere--nonetheless it was still a very satisfying meal. As mentioned above, their service made this visit very pleasant. They were very accommodating for my acquaintance and I (in fact, everyone in the restaurant was!), and although my acquaintance can be quite demanding, the staff had a smile on the whole time. I usually get a family size pizza and a pasta to share yet we still can't finish it. Their pastas are a generous portion cooked to perfection. My favorite pasta to order from here is the beef Ragu, for pizza I always go for the Affumicato. Levetto is also a comfortable place to dine in while having a nice chat with friends. Having been to most the other Levetto locations, I was ecstatic to see Levetto open in Aurora! For this meal, my table ordered the Carbonara and Rigatoni since these are our Levetto favourites. The Carbonara tasted similar to the other locations and the pasta's texture was amazing as usual. However, the sauce was also a little more watery compared to the other locations. The Rigatoni had great texture and good taste overall as well but again, the sauce was a little more watery and less rich than usual. I didn't have chance to try the pasta but the pizza is great. Some are sweet and savory and some are traditional. We also have chance to try the panna cotta but I find the texture is a bit harder than usual. They have the greatest pasta you will ever try. Huge portions, under $20, and it usually takes them no longer than 10 minutes to make the food. The Pizzas are good but I would almost never get it over their Pasta. You can't find a place in Aurora with better Pasta than Levetto. It's really small inside though which some people may not like, but I prefer it since it's easier to get a waiters attention. It's also not loud at all. The seats are comfortable, the menus are easy to read, I literally cannot think of one thing I don't like about this place. Would 100% recommend. Don't go to Kelseys over this place (unless it's a bigger party). read more
