    Butternut Squash Ravioli
    Anthony C.

My family went to this restaurant in Pickering to celebrate my nephew graduation. Restaurant was big and roomy and had plently of parking available. We ordered, bruschetta and grilled & fried calamari to share. The bruschetta was good, pretty straightforward. I liked the friend calamari better than the grilled as the pieces seemed were bigger. For the main, I ordered the butternut squash ravioli in a mushroom cream sauce. I did find it on the heavy side. I may have missed the description on the menu, however it was also accompanied with grilled chicken slices, which I thought was unusual and felt it didn't go with the dish. Usually people order this as a vegetarian option, so I thought it was odd. It was tasty though. The food was ok, if I was in the modd for Italian in the Durham region, I would come back to this place to try other menu options. 3.5*

Casual Italian dining in Pickering. The place is pretty big with tons of seating. Service was really good and attentive. Food was delicious. Great place for lunch or dinner. They also have a private dining area for events which I think is fantastic. Overall a nice place to have work lunch or a casual meal.

I've visited Amici's 3 times in the last month and at first I enjoyed it, but I'm kind of over it now. The food is just meh, I found it under seasoned and needed a lot of salt. The service is friendly. I find it overall quite noisy and squished in there, so people walking by are always brushing your shoulder which is quite uncomfortable. Overall - it's mediocre to me, and who has time/money to be spending on mediocrity these days!

I really think hard before I give a restaurant a five star. But if anybody is deserving of it in my mind it's Amici. We stopped here on the way home, and we were so glad we did. The food here is outstanding, the service friendly. It's very busy restaurant and you can certainly tell why patrons keep coming back. They have a dining room, bar area and covered patio. I had the lobster ravioli (to die for)! Hubby had the grilled calamari and seafood pasta. All the meals were excellent. We started with an Aperol spritz, and sadly had no room for dessert. In the base of a business tower (its right across from the mall and right off the hwy (Liverpool St exit). Ample parking on site. Enjoy!

Fabulous food! The bruschetta was very good. It was soft but still had a warm crunch to the outside, good ratio of tomatoes to parmesan and was just garlicky enough. The arancini balls were fine but lacked a bit of flavour and had very little cheese in it. The cheese to rice ratio was off. For mains, I had the fettuccine pistachio and it was very good. Very rich sauce but not too intense. Noodles were cooked to a perfect al denté. The service was good, our waitress was very nice and very attentive. My biggest problem with this place is the seating. You enter the restaurant and it looks very nice, fancy and slightly higher end but then you go into the dining room and it loses all of its appeal. Wooden tables slotted so close to each other, it feels more like you're at a mall food court instead of a fine dining Italian restaurant. There are just way too many tables and all you can hear is the conversations from the tables next to you.

Server: Allie Random find and it was very pleasant. Our server was really nice and friendly, gave some really good recommendations and very easy to have a conversation with. The steak was good cooked perfect to our liking The Agnolotti was recommended by the server and it did not disappoint The escargot was very tasteful and creamy

Good Italian food, fair prices, fast and friendly service. 1 hour dining limit only due to covid , so eat fast, no time for desert lol First time dining after four months of lockdown, feels good to be out . Forms to fill before dining for covid screening

I've definitely seen this place driving by on the highway. It was high time that I tried it. Whenever Valentine's Day rolls around, I'm thinking Italian. It's a cold time of year and I want to feel the love which I generally feel in the form of carbs. We were able to call ahead and place an order and were told that our 2 mains and 2 apps would take 20 minutes. When we got to the restaurant, they had a Covid info and prep station before the second set of doors to the inside of the restaurant. They had Covid precautions printed out on flyers for customers to take. They also had a ledger for contact tracing, hand sanitizer nearby, and signs to use the handicap button for the doors to minimize contact. All of the food was in Styrofoam containers which isn't my favourite but oh well. A happy bonus we found in our order was table bread which was still warm. The warmth from it had melted the little butter containers so I was able to drizzle that onto each piece. So good! As we really got into the meal, we moved on to the Arancini. The parts that were submerged in the sauce were soft but the rest of it was still crispy. The sauce is supposed to be spicy but at first I thought it was just marinara until the last bite where I found the kick. Not too spicy to handle. We also shared the Cozze Marinara. Now this is rare but each mussel was accounted for! We didn't get any empty shells. The sauce was tasty and enjoyed with the bread dipped into it. For the mains, we had the Ravioli Di Manzo (ravioli stuffed with braised beef short rib) and the Fettuccine Pistachio. I loved the sauce for the ravioli and it had a mix of different mushrooms and spinach - two of the best vegetables in my opinion. The second dish featured a pistachio cream sauce. It had the slightest hint of sweetness and was really nice. I added the side Parmesan they had to this dish to get some more salty into it. This spot would be great for a date night. They have a really lovely wine and cured meat display in the front and the rest of the interior and lighting is really warm and inviting. A very tasty option for Italian food in Pickering!

My best friend from LA was craving for some italian food. She picked this place on Pickering which is off of the 401 near Pickering town center. This place on a Saturday is definitely bumping, so if you want a table make sure you make a reservation. We were a group of three so we didn't have to wait (less than 5 minutes). We ordered calamari for apps to share - super delicious and decently portioned. For our mains, my friend and I ordered pasta, while my boyfriend ordered lasagna! The pasta was a tad salty but it had great flavor and taste to it. My boyfriend said that the lasgna was "meat" his standard (what a punny guy!) If your in the area, come drop by for some home style Italian food you won't regret

Italian food is my absolute favourite, but there's a big difference between Authentic Italian and American Italian. Let me start off by saying the service was great and the atmosphere was nice. We received warm bread which is always a hit. We ordered a Pizza with Spicy Peppers and it was great, very thin pizza with tons of flavour and toppings. I would come back for just the pizza! The main meals however weren't so great. I ordered Eggplant PARM which was basically all breading and tons of Sauce but it didn't really have any flavour. I added tons of salt and pepper and still... Everyone's else's food rang the same tune, flavourless pasta. Keep eating, Angela

Not bad...but not great. The Margherita pizza tastes more like a cheese pizza but the service was fantastic! Fries are a must have. Pasta was great...next time would just stick with pasta and maybe dessert somewhere else. Drinks were good...the sangria was done well.

By the time we arrived, we still had to wait a bit because they had just begun our order. I do like my food hot so I didn't mind, and they were really nice and apologized for the wait. I was a bit iffy about the cleanliness. I watched them switch from station to station, brush their hair or touch their face and then the food again. We had the meat lover calzone. It was very nicely stuffed and a great, light crispy breading. But it was really watery and wet so as we ate, there was a big puddle of water. I thought it would leak oil or something but it was just water. I think it might be from the tomato sauce. It wasn't the most appealing by the end. I also got the spaghetti meatball. I actually really liked the pasta and the simple basil tomato sauce. It hit the spot for me. But the meatballs were really bad. They were oddly cut in half and had a sour, off flavor. I think the meat had gone bad. I couldn't eat it and since we did take away, I couldn't really get it redone or tell the staff. Overall, I'm glad we gave it a try anyway. It was not the best food experience and probably won't get the same items again. The pizza does look good though so maybe we will try that next time we're around.

The parking lot was quite small for this restaurant, with only two settings being offered for the evening; we chose the one from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The restaurant itself was also small, with tables and chairs situated in every nook of the historical home. The décor was beautiful, with many different pictures and bottles adorning the walls. We had first settled on the antipasto for one, along with the stracciatella soup. We were given a basket of bread and butter to start, which was delicious, as the bread was warm on the inside, and crunchy on the outside. The soup was authentic as can be, with delicious droplets of egg in a perfectly heated dish, tasting marvelous, bringing back a lot of wonderful memories. The antipasto platter was a tad small, costing $18.00 however, since we had our main dishes coming, we were settled with the amount that was given. For the main dishes, my husband had settled on the linguine with a multitude of fish; there was more fish than pasta, which is something that you hardly ever see in a restaurant. The meat cannelloni was fabulous, with just the perfect amount of sauce and cheese; although the cheese was a tad burnt on the top however, it didn't affect the taste in any way. Service was exceptional as well, with servers coming by often to refill our water glasses and ask how the food was. Overall, an authentic restaurant which boasted the best of Italian food in a cozy atmosphere.

Sweet and savory combination - Sweet pear slices meet saltiness from pancetta and 2 cheese Fior di latte, flurry ricotta. Walnut pieces added extra texture, and acidity & sweetness from glazed balsamic completes the taste of the whole.
