Ordered the tiramisu, chocolate/hazelnut croissant and a Spanish coffee. All were excellent. I enjoyed the various flavours that were light yet not too sweet or overpowering. I went on a Thursday at 11am. There was a short line at first then it picked up a bit likely due to the lunch rush but then it died down again. First thing I noticed was their display of focaccia sandwiches. They had 4 kinds. I wish I didn't already have lunch plans. I love focaccia! The fillings offered were interesting like, mortadella x pistachios or prosciutto x truffle! I will have to return. I came here for the pastry. They had at least 16 different kinds of croissants and danishes. Not including cookies, whole pies and they also serve coffee and loaves of bread. Tiramisu danish was one of their popular items so I got that plus a plain croissant. Wow, the tiramisu was a 10/10! I mean, there was even a piece of ladyfinger soaked in coffee inside the danish! It was unbelievable. It was such a delightful dessert. As for the plain croissant, it was sadly average. It didn't have that crispy, flaky bite I enjoy. Bartholomew Bakery is a viral and super popular bakery serving sandwiches, pies, breads, coffee, and croissants/pastries of various types. It is a LONG wait if you come to purchase in person (aka not a pickup order). HIGHLY RECOMMEND pickup option. We waited 45-60 mins on a rainy day. It is super popular! Some items were sold out due to popularity, but honestly not worth the hype. It is good pastries and a bit more unique due to their flavor combinations, but the execution feels rushed and dry. We had their croissants, which should be freshly made, but somehow it was dry, stale, and the only thing saving it was the filling. Not sure what happened as I've heard good things about it. Very much a swing and a miss. If we try it again, will definitely try to order for a pickup. Their sandwiches were much better, but there is standing room only in the cafe so its a pickup and go place. It is in an industrial location, so driving and parking is out of the way. For the location, it probably is the better option around (aka Vaughan), but either a bit west or east, there are better options without the long wait times. Try it at least once though, and try at least one of every item, you might find something you like, for me, it was their sandwiches, even though I was there for their pastries. read more

Heard a lot of good things about Bartholomew Bakery, and I want to try it out for myself :) Parking is limited, it's a quick grab-n-go kinda thing. Staff is quick and ready to help. When you buy 6 items, it is tax-free. I really enjoyed the Turkey & Swiss made with "natural leavened focaccia with thinly sliced smoked turkey, honey mustard mayo & spring mix". I went there on a Saturday and was excited to see a big line outside of the bakery -- a good sign for any bakery! Although it was quite cold outside, I happily waiting as I had heard lots of great things... and the wait was definitely worth it. Inside, there was so many items to choose from. I ended up getting the almond croissant and it has to be one of the best ones I've ever had. My only regret is not getting more, but alas, it gives me a reason to visit again! Small shop front located in an industrial area of buildings, there is ample parking outside. Inside have a few barcounters for standing but otherwise no seating. Short wait inside but worth it!! They have a great selection of pastries, breads and sandwiches as well as coffee/tea. I love their lemon cheesecake danish and also got an espresso bomb croissant thing (filled with not overly sweet espresso cream). When a place has a queue outside it tells me two things, either over hyped or there's really something about this place. And if it's a place in the middle of somewhere random, with no seating and looks like a factory, there must be something about this place. And I was very right. Bartholomew feels like a hidden gem with it's location and outlook, but inside are some of the best, or dareisay, the actual best pastries in the GTA. So much to choose from and so many options, you'll probably leave with boxes full like many of the others here. Be prepared to take out another mortgage with the amount you'll spend here. But it's so worth it. Buttery flaky goodness in literally every bite. I had the almond croissant and the chocolate cherry pastry and oh my gosh, their flavours are SO right. It's so fresh that it almost doesn't feel like I'm cheating. I'll be coming here again and again and again. Also, I reached out to the owners who confirmed that all of their pastries which don't have alcohol or meat items are otherwise fully halal, even down to the gel they use in some of the pastries! One of the best bakeries ever hands down! There is usually a long line on the weekend but luckily it goes quite fast. The staff are all really friendly and the store itself is small and intimate. With respect to the pastries there are so many unique flavours depending on what is in season and they are all phenomenal. Their danishes are decent, but we preferred the croissants and pain au chocolat; all very reasonably priced between $5-$7 per. The bialy sandwiches ($11) are also fantastic, mortadella and pistachio being our favorite, with a rich pistachio mayo (?) on chewy, fresh bread. These were the best croissants I had in the GTA. They have a wide variety of flavors to satisfy any craving, and everything is freshly baked. They have lavish pastries, sandwiches and whole loafs of bread as well. They also have coffee. It is a small space, with no seating. The staff were friendly and very hard working. You can order individual items or a box of 4 or 6 pastries. We got a box of 6 croissants, the flavors were, almond, pistachio, biscoff, espresso, tiramisu and lemon blueberry. My favorite ones were the almond and biscoff. All the croissants were super flakey and not too sweet. Some were a little on the creamier side, but its all about personal preference. We also got fresh sourdough bread, which was delicious. There's going to be a line so I suggest going early. We went an hour after it opened and there were a good amount people there already. Bartholomew has become one of my favorites! I typically get sweet croissants but this time I decided to try a savory croissant they're Ham and cheese and it was so delicious the cheese is shaved so it's not super overpowering but it's definitely rich in flavor I do wish that it was served hot cuz I love a hot croissant but you can tell that quality ingredients were put into this croissant and all the different layers of the croissant the crunch of the outside the softness on the inside 9/10 for me. I also tried their toffee cookie it's a chocolate chip cookie with hints of toffee and it was absolutely delicious the outside was crispy but not burnt and the inside was soft there were a little bits that were a little undercook but honestly and didn't even matter to me I didn't even stop to take a sip of my latte the cookie is 10/10 highly recommend! After taxes my total came up to a little bit over $13 and I got the ham and cheese danish, one Spanish latte and one toffee cookie. Overall I am going to rate it as good. The rocher croissant. Five, perfect, would get again. May live on in my dreams. The carrot cake cruffin? Zero. The pastry cream was very runny and I wish that I had known before attempting to sample it while driving. It streamed everywhere and now I have a *horrific* mess to clean up. My raincoat, seatbelt and shirt were unsafe from the attack. Simple water was not enough to spray this mess away. May live on in my nightmares. Service was quick and friendly. The prices are decently priced, they're good but i wouldn't say i'm wow'd by them. To get a box you have to get 4 pastries?? I would suggest to charge for the box instead if someone doesn't really need more pastries. They sell sourdough and pies. When its was time to purchase, surprised they don't accept tips? on the machine just shows the total. They should put an option, especially since they're a well known bakery, it gets busy! A great new spot for DELICIOUS CROISSANTS! There twice baked pistachios and almond croissant has taken my spot for best croissant, previous titled held by Emmer. We came on a weekend and had to wait around 15 mins outside the bakery, while it's not long, it might be rough during bad weather. Staff were pretty quick once we made it to the counter. This is a bakery only with no seating and small stand up banister that you could probably chow down a sandwich. I'd definitely come back for their croissant and might try their sandwiches too. We didn't order a coffee after hearing a previous customer say it top them 30 mins for their coffee order. So you constantly see this bakery on all platforms for social media it's been on the list to do for quite a while however, I didn't wanna wait in long lineups. So as I'm headed out of the city, we were in the area so I said it's finally time to try it. Parking was full, so my husband dropped me off, but because the service is so efficient people were in and out very quick. I got myself a cappuccino and Italian trio focaccia, a butter croissant, and a cookies and cream pastry. Now it's the end of the day I was able to try everything that we purchased. Cappuccino was made perfectly - sandwich was not hard. You can tell that it was fresh l, the flavours were really delicious together. My husband ate the butter croissant. He said it was delicious. You could definitely taste that it is more luxurious than your average croissant. As for the cookies and cream pastry - It definitely was not sweet. The actual cookie in the inside was wonderful and it worked really well with the croissant and the cream flavour. I would recommend and definitely come back. Visited on a weekday, and the place was quite busy. The case had many pastries but I think some items were not available during weekday, Not sure. For example the kouign amann wasn't on the case and pizza squares. The pain suisse had amazing layers and I've never tried it before so I had to order it. Also tried their espresso cruffin, pistachio & almond croissant. The highlight was the pain suisse. Both the pistachio and almond filling wasn't roasted, and surprisingly I'm usually not a fan if its unroasted but this was good and not overwhelming. I love this place! Definitely some lineups and wait time during weekends. Came around 1:30pm right before thanksgiving and there were lots of people. Most of the people actually waited in line for coffee rather than baked goods. It looked overwhelming (and loud) because there was only one barista making drinks. I didn't order one but I will try next time! Looks like they serve De Mello and Monogram coffee beans. We got two sandwiches (forgot to take pictures) and 4 pastries. We bought 6 pastries: almond double baked, coconut passion fruit danish, filled raspberry lemon cruffin, Filled Expresso, Tiramisu Danish, Pain Suisse as well as Maple Pecan Sourdough bread ($40.50 total) All the pastries are delicious,highly recommended. But the sourdough is not as good as we anticipated. Crust Bakery's sourdough is better. Service is ok and shop is relatively small and always crowded as there is a long line all the time. Bartholomew Bakery is such a gem in Vaughan and has amazing pastries and coffee. We got the pistachio croissant, espresso croissant, biscoff cruffin and matcha raspberry cruffin. Everything was delicious and have so much filling and flavour. To drink, we had the vanilla latte and I love that they use a vanilla paste and not a syrup, so you can adjust the sweetness without compromising the vanilla flavour. I've been meaning to give this bakery a try since hearing many good things about it. It's located in a more industrialized area but not hard to find, especially with its bright yellow sign. There was free parking in the area, just by the store. The store itself is quite small for customers, as the majority of the store is a dedicated space for their kitchen. This does mean there's no area to sit in, just a grab n' go. Pastries that are for customers to buy are actually at the back-of-house, with a front display showing only one of each item on their menu alongside little name and price tags. This allows you to see everything at a glance. I picked up their turkey and swiss focaccia (which I personally felt was a little dense and hard to chew but appreciated the abundance of deli meat they loaded on - the sandwich itself was surprisingly big) as well as their espresso croissant, cookies and cream cruffin, and their pistachio twice baked. These were all really tasty and flavorful, with an appropriate sweetness level (note: the cookies and cream was the sweetest of all). I also loved how flakey and airy their pastries were, and all items I had were stuffed with delicious fillings, either cream, cookie crumbs, or nut paste. I was surprised to see that they also serve slices of pizza which I'm intrigued to try next time. Service was very friendly and efficient. read more

I've been to Bartholomew bakery on 3 separate occasions. The most recent was better than the first two. I've had their strawberry cream croissant, matcha croissant, twice baked almonds croissant, pain au chocolat, white sourdough, hot and iced lattes and a hot vanilla oat latte. The drinks are expensive but the croissants are priced well. The vanilla they use in their lattes is vanilla bean and amazing! They only have whole milk and oat milk. The first two times I went I didn't know this and had my stomach hurting from the whole milk. My mom loved the almond croissant but I found it too sweet. The matcha and strawberry croissants were good and I didn't like the pain au chocolat too much. The sourdough bread was good but well overpriced. Overall I like coming here due to the close proximity and would ideally give it 3.5 stars if I could. read more
